Good service, good price. She evens fixed the beads on my wife’s shirt. As a testament of her honesty: once I brought in a bunch of stuff, we ended up over counting the items; she could have easily charged me «extra» but after I left she called me to let me know there were less items. If she hadn’t told and fixed the price, I would have never noticed.

Wonderful, polite, courteous and competent cleaning. Great alterations too. I moved to Walnut Creek 3 years ago and I still collect my dry cleaning and wait to visit the inlaws in San Jose so I can go see Jacklin at Camden cleaners. No one else is allowed to do my alterations. Love them.

Been going here for years. The service has always been nothing but exceptional. Very reliable, friendly and fairly inexpensive

Camden Cleaners is a shining example of how a business should be run. This update begins with what could have been a negative experience — they accidentally lost one of the eight shirts I dropped off for my husband. However, the way it was handled was impeccable, in my opinion. The owner was –extremely– apologetic, and said she’d search the place high and low during the coming week(I had another batch of clothes to pickup the following week). When I returned, she told me that she had literally gone through every order in the place and counted the number of items in each order, and could not find an extra shirt anywhere. She then said that I should name my price, and we would deduct it from future orders. I found it so refreshing and impressive that the owner a) trusts me enough, and b) cares enough about her reputation and business, to basically write me a blank check. And human nature being what it is, I had no desire whatsoever to take advantage of her, after she was so gracious and kind. So we both won. For a rather small sum, she retained a happy customer and earned a(nother) glowing review on Unilocal. I’ve had another dry cleaner lose my clothing, and it was a very different experience — the owner made me wait an entire month while she looked for my clothes, and once she realized they were gone, she immediately went on the defensive and started talking about how her liability was limited, and she wouldn’t pay me more than a certain amount, etc. This experience was SO much more pleasant and professional! Thanks Camden Cleaners! :)

There are not too many businesses in San Jose where you are greeted by name the minute you walk in. This is one of those businesses and it’s pretty amazing!(cue: Cheers’ theme song) The turnaround time is a little slow, but I’m usually not in a hurry and the quality of the dry cleaning is good. You can usually park right in front and get in/out in a jiffy. Minus one star because the shop lady’s Chihuahua bit my husband. No lie. Bit him on the leg as he was walking out. No bueno.

**This is a review of the dry cleaning part of the business, I haven’t had anything altered here yet.** Since my own business is Certified Green, I like to check out for other green businesses. I have seen several dry cleaners that have«we are green!» type banners up, but found that Camden Cleaner is the only Certified Green dry cleaner in the greater San Jose area(the other two in Santa Clara County are in Los Altos and Mountain View). The lady who runs the shop, Jacklin, is very sweet. She is polite, is able to work and talk at the same time, and is very proud of her Certified Green status. She told me she has several other customers who have their own green businesses too. :) One thing I liked about the location is there was no chemical smell in the air at all — which is one thing I’ve hated about going into dry cleaning places in the past. I dropped off three jackets with her. All three were thrift store finds(hence needing cleaning!), but expensive items originally: one in velvets and brocades, one a silk blend, and one custom piece. The silk blend had something(I didn’t really want to know what!) globbed on the sleeve. Jacklin asked for six days — I dropped them off Saturday, she said they’d be ready the following Friday(no clue if that’s normal or long or what, I very rarely get anything dry cleaned) but I was in no rush, so that was fine. On Friday I returned to pick them up. The bill for all three jackets was $ 21. All three were clean(including the glob!), de-wrinkled, and had no smell to them. The hangers have little cardboard shoulder-thingies that helped keep the shoulder shape(which are then recycle-able which is nice). I do wish the jackets hadn’t all been individually wrapped though — I’m not sure the plastic covering is recyclable and I certainly have no further use for it. That said, I’m happy with the result overall and will be returning to Jacklin when I have other items to get dry-cleaned!

When I walk in the door of Camden Cleaners, Jacklin greets me by name, goes over and whips through the clothes merry-go-round until she gets to my clothes and she then pulls out my dry cleaning. How does she remember exactly where my stuff is when I haven’t been there in two weeks?!? I have been to many dry cleaners over the years, and none has inspired the kind of loyalty I have for Jacklin at Camden Cleaners. I have been taking my dry cleaning to her for about 5 years now, and even though I recently moved about a mile further away, I still take my stuff here rather than go to a dry cleaner that is closer to me. Her prices are very reasonable and my clothes always look fabulous. She recently became a «green earth» cleaner as well, which is pretty cool. Her turnaround time is very good, and if I have needed something sooner, she has always been able to accommodate me. She has done alterations for me on a number of occasions, and they are always perfect. One time I brought in a crocheted sweater that had a loose thread, and she whipped out her crochet hook and wove it back in, and then would not take payment for it. I really don’t know what I’m going to do if I ever move further away.

Went here to get some dress shirts altered. Very reasonably priced — $ 16 to slim out the sides and the sleeves. Other places charge upwards of 30 bucks. They look good and fit well. Worth checking out for sure.
