Great shop. Bob is a great person to get anything you need for skateboards clothing, accessories etc. Excellent customer service. Only shop i shop at.

They have a cool selection of boards and skate gear. The owner is sort of a jerk though. I’ve purchased wheels, bearing cleaners, amongst other items and everytime I come in the skinny owner mugs me and tells me and my buddy to not touch things and is just straight up a jerk.
To be honest I would love to box the owner with 12 oz gloves. Clearly he doesn’t like me for some reason which made me not like him and I would love to just box it out 1 on 1; fair and clean fight.
After I knock him out maybe he will lighten up a bit.
All in all if you’re looking for a decent skate shop with quality products in San Jose with a owner who in my opinion could benefit from getting his clock cleaned then you should definitely check Circle A out.

I took my daughter in for her 16^th birthday to get a new board. Bob, the owner, was laid back, answered questions and did a great job of walking her through the good and bad of various trucks, wheels, bearings and deck shapes. He then did an awesome job of putting it all together and even did a custom grip tape layout. The prices were good, service above and beyond. He had a great selection of gear and clothes. Don’t spend money at Zumies or some other big store chain, support Bob!

Went here to buy a new board for my summer trip, couldn’t be happier with the purchase. I’m a pretty experienced rider so I pretty much knew which board I was going for, however it was still nice to get some input from the employees. I checked online to compare prices and they are not off by very much at all. I’ll pop back in here again for sure.

Whenever my son and I are traveling through an area we check out the skate shops… we found Circle A. Very cool location downtown. Bob was very helpful. Lots of everything. My son wanted to look at everything and he didn’t feel rushed. I sat comfortably, while waiting, talking to Bob and his buddy about their plan to open up a coffee/​tea shop inside the shop. Brilliant idea! My son made his purchase and I found out later Bob had given him a retro skate mag. I love independent shops! Thanks so much for making our visit such fun!

Took my 13 yr old nephew visiting from AZ to Circle-​A since he wanted to check out a cool skate shop. I have been in before but just casually to blow off some time. When I took my nephew I had my little dog Julius and when we walked in we were immediately greeted by the owner Bob. What a amazingly cool dude! He spent some time chattin it up with us and then gave Hunter a old school skate mag, a bunch of stickers and some cool posters. They have some awesome custom gear but were sold out but we still got Hunter a cool custom «It never gets old» graffiti tee shirt. Hands down a very cool place that’s run by a really down to earth awesome guy. Gonna hit it up again before he heads back to AZ and get some more gear! — Also found out when I got home that my good friend and roomie Geno is good friends with Bob. Lol What a small world!!!

Bob is the best skater, shop owner in the area. He is friendly, sociable and patience. I am a fan of skating and been skating for 2 years, I started skating with a very crappy skateboard, it was because I wanted to be familiar with the board first then I would purchase a better end one. Recently I broke it (a truck) so I figure it is time to replace it with a new one, better looking graphics. So I stopped by Circle A the Shop, the other day, Bob greeted me, after walking around the shop and talking to Bob, I literally forgot to buy a deck and a truck for my board, but instead I bought myself a hat instead which has literally nothing to do which skating-​ish. Overall the experience I had with Bob was great, and I would like to be back whenever I have the chance.

This local skate shop is sick! They have varieties of boards, clothes, and skate shoes. Bob is the owner and he has plenty of knowledge about skateboarding. So if you’re new to skateboarding, don’t be afraid to ask Bob!

This place is great. I got a long board awhile back and rode it every now and then over the years. Now that I moved to San Jose to go to school, I have used my long board to go everywhere. I don’t know about much about boards or their components but I know that if I’m pushing as hard as possible and not going any where then it’s time to get it check out.
I’ve always walked passed by this place and decided to go in and have my board checked out. Bob was busy with a customer but still acknowledged me and said he’ll be right with me, feel free to look around. Which was nice. When he got to me, I told him I didn’t know much and he totally gave me a quick lesson on long boards and maintenance even when another customer came in he made sure I had a good understanding.
The problem with my board was it’s bearings and he recommending the cheapest price bearing. Still a bit pricier than online prices but not over ridiculously expensive. I bought them a couple of days later and Bob was out. Ramon helped me out with the same great customer service.

Very friendly staff that is willing to help you with everything, great items (though a slightly limited as it is a small shop), and decently-​priced too. The owner of the shop also let’s you use his tools to tighten your trucks for free (you don’t even have to buy anything) and it’s simply a wonderful shop. Highly recommended!

The best place hands down for getting tools and accessories. I like to design and build my own boards so they look poopy, so there’s a rather small urgent need for cheap stuff. Bob (owner i guess) is super friendly and is the furthest thing from pushy when you’re just looking around. I remember he gave me a small lecture that you shouldn’t buy bundles on line because we just support a man with a suitcase instead of those who are truly into skateboards. I didn’t mind because he seems passionate about his work.
The tools and risers which i bought recently are cheaper than anywhere else i have looked (including online). Tool is only 9.95 compared to 19.95 at zumiez. Risers were only 2.95. I usually feel bad for buying cheap bundles from bundles online and they usually are pretty bad, but bob tries to keep everything at least competitive and stocks quality hardware. Definitely the best place to go.

Have always skated past this place… Finally decided to go inside with my buddy to check out new decks. The gentleman who assisted us «ben» I believe that was his name.. . Super professional, really nice guy, and all around his shop is super chill, with a forward ruining collection of merchandise

This place is so damn expensive, but they literally have everything you need here. Bob is a cool dude and the rest of the co workers are super chill as well.

Great place. They helped us outfit my son’s board. We will be going back time after time. Better wheels, trucks/​chucks (I think that’s what they are called), and bearing really make all the difference in the world.

Stopped by Circle-​A today while I was in SJ. Great shop, lots of (pro) decks, hardware, and shoes-​galore (Vans, Lakai, Nike (SB), etc.
Bob, the owner, is super friendly and knowledgeable. He’s also an old school skater and definitely knows his stuff.
I’ll make this one a regular stop when I’m in the South Bay.

I moved to San Jose semi-​recently and still hadn’t discovered a local board shop to call my home. I know there is a chain skate store in every mall (you know which one), but it wasn’t really cutting it for me anymore. I stumbled upon this place after an expo at the Fairmont and I’m so glad I did.
Walked in and was greeted by an amazing shoe wall. They have a lot of selection and I’ll be back to buy some new kicks when my current SBs die. To the left is all the decks and apparel. Trucks, tools, wheels, and other accessories are located in a glass display.
The owner (Bob, I think?) was super friendly, knowledgeable, and fun to talk to. I didn’t plan on buying anything at first but I somehow walked out with a limited edition Blueprint deck and a new tool to replace my lost one. I also bought some grip and he put it on for me! Wow! Awesome customer service!
Even though Circle-​A is on the small side, they still had a very good selection of everything. I’m very happy and will be back many many times.

As an SJSU student, we are all poor. At least I am. Yes, things are expensive here, but there are tons of things you would not find anywhere else. It’s worth a look. Selection may be limited, true. But hey, considering the size of the store…
I came here a few times couple years back and bought a nice pair of Volcom gloves + some Nike SBs. Great service. I left satisfied. Fast forward 1.5 years later, I came here to purchase a new Vision cruiser after my cheap fake Penny was giving me problems. I admit, the $ 130 fucked a hole in my wallet but… it was honestly worth it. I noticed a difference right away between my cheaply made board and the board I purchased from Circle-​A.
I was served by Amanda. I was a bit disappointed at first because she was a bit inattentive and didn’t ask if I needed help until a good 5 – 8 mins later. But other than that, she was real nice and offered to take a look at my cruiser to see what was wrong with it. She loosened my trucks for free since I left my tools back home. Sadly, didn’t help much. I may come back to purchase some better trucks and bushings or find a cheaper remedy online.
