Com 90 Degree. I really don’t know how to start this off, but this place is terrible. The food is bad, the service is bad, and the people’s attitude aren’t pleasant at all. My family and I are regular customers. We spend so much money each time we head here every week. We spend around 100 dollars per visit, but the money isn’t worth it at all. The reason we come here every week is because we like the option of eating outside for our grandmother, not the food. Basically family reunion every week. During these visits, they have forgotten our order a few times. Cool nice thank you for feeding my belly!!! SHOUTOUTTOTHEBESTRESTAURANT(sarcasm) A few months back, my mom ordered soup and all of a sudden she sees pubic hair in the soup. Hence, we complained to the workers and they laughed and gave us a new one. We didn’t mind, because accidents happen. You know? Forgive and forget. Anyways, during this particular visit which was the headlight of my day. So my mom was paying for our bill and she noticed that the rice com tam was $ 17 dollars? WHAAAAT? HOW??? So we asked them and they said that it’s because we added things such as eggs. There was a dish that was the same thing for only $ 12. The chubby guy cashier threw money towards my mom from the tip jar. After this we headed back to our seats and we complained to the worker who’s the girl i got a picture of. She’s the daughter of the owner, which is jenny! Shout out to you! The manager =)… My mom talked about the incident that has happened. Jenny answered with ‚“We don’t need you anyways. Then don’t come back.” She said it in a stupid and arrogant tone. I would give this place a 0⁄10 if i could because it’s that pathetic of a restaurant.

When you first walk in the ambiance is quite classy. Tall ceilings, French(?) inspired paintings, columns, etc. It’s your typical Vietnamese restaurant though, really. and well, the food, I’ve definitely had better Com Tam. I ordered #44. Com Tam Bi, Cha, Suon Nuong, Tau Hu Ky.(Broken Rice, with shredded pork, egg & ground pork mixed cake, and Grilled Pork Rib) & was INCREDIBLY disappointed. The presentation was really unappealing to the eye, the rice looked too dry(I understand broken rice is like that… but trust me when I say even the rice was baddddd). The grilled pork rib was just sad. Again, it was dry and the portion was tiny! Great thing about this place is that it’s open late until 12AM… but I doubt I’ll ever come back for Com Tam again.

I come here often. The reason i’m writing this review is because tonight a lady by the name Jenny really impressed me with her excellent customer service. I was very flattered by her attitude towards a customers needs. Here is why was so happy to write this review. Last week i came here late to have some phở and she was my waitress. I ordered some phở, drink and a dessert. They all took a long time to come to my table and at the end when i mentioned how i had to wait so long, she apologized greatly. Tonight as i walked in, she was excited to see me come back. After i received my phở and drink she walked up to my table and asked«did we improved this time? Is there anything else you need?» I was surprised how she remembered and was eager to make sure i’m happy with her service. Wow! She definitely gets a 10 star from me. With her attitude and kindness she will succeed in any place she puts her foot in. Good job Jenny and thank you.

Too lazy to find a delicious, affordable place serving rice plates? Want phở, but your friends want com tam? Whatever the case is, Com 90 always provides consistent service and consistent quality whenever my friends and I come here. It’s connected next to Phở 90 so if your group can’t decide between rice plates or phở, why not come here for both? Service is always quick as well, so you don’t have to worry about waiting too long.

I ordered #37(Com Tam Bi, Cha, Suong Nuong). Not bad and not great for a place that suppose to specialize in this dish(broken rice). Not as bad as I thought it would be after reading all the negative reviews. Good customer service!

This place is located in Vietnam Town, right next to Phở 90. It’s quite clean inside, and there’s a beautiful mural of Venice on the back wall. There are also a couple TVs that were showing music videos. I ate here with a group of 12 people. We told the host that we were still waiting for two members of our party to arrive but we were seated at a table that only held 9 people… so one person was left standing. The busboys cleared up a table next to ours, so we assumed that they were giving us that additional table to seat the other people. They ended up putting another party at that table and we were still needing 3 more seats. We brought this issue to the attention of a waiter and he then cleared up a table for us. BUTITONLYSEATED11PEOPLE… anyway the last person in our group just grabbed a chair from an unoccupied table and sat at the end of the table. I ordered the #38(com tam bi, cha, ga nuong). Pricing is pretty average compared to other com tam places. I was a little hangry while waiting for food but it wasn’t too bad since I just talked to my friends during the wait. When the food arrived, not everyone who ordered a rice dish received the soup that was supposed to arrive with it which was a little annoying but honestly I don’t even drink the soup since it’s usually salty. There was a good amount of food on my plate when it arrived — I probably wouldn’t say the same for those who ordered com tam thit nuong. I’m not sure why, but at other places as well, there is always a less amount of thit nuong compared to when ordering ga nuong. Anyway, one thing that did stand out when comparing to other places was that the bi was pretty good. Typically the bi at other com tam places end up being mostly skin and barely meat, but this restaurant’s bi had a lot of meat. The plate actually had a good amount of everything — meat, veggies, pickled veggies, and rice. Honestly this place would’ve been so much better if it weren’t for the MSG levels. Although my chicken was tasty, I could tell that there was a ton of MSG in it. I had a headache and stomachache after eating my meal and my stomachache lasted until I woke up the next morning at 8:00 am… I’ve never experienced that kind of pain from MSG and I will not be coming back here. I could handle the bad service but if the food is a problem then there’s no chance of return for me.

Looks to be one of the classier Vietnamese places in the area. The ambiance is nice and is a lot different than any of the other Vietnamese places in the area. I got the lamb dish which was a bit too fatty and pricey for me. It was worth the experience to order it but I wouldn’t be getting it any time soon.

FOOD — Com Tam Bi, Cha, Ga nuong, Tau hu ky, Chao tom: broken rice, shredded pork, egg cake, grilled chicken, fried shrimp cake, and grilled shrimp paste on a sugar cane. Comes with a side of veggies(lettuce, cucumbers, and pickled veggies) and a side soup with boned pork. The grilled chicken was tender and flavorful. It has a strong lemongrass taste. Everything else was good. 4⁄5 SERVICE We were instantly greeted and seated. The waitress was friendly. We used Unilocal’s free soda offer with a purchase of an entrée. The food took a little long to come out for us being the only ones there. I didn’t complain, but the waitress explained that they had to grill the chicken. At least, I know it was freshly cooked. 4⁄5 FINALTHOUGHTS Slightly pricy, but the portions are huge and tasty. I would come back to try other things. My dad really liked his Hu Tieu Do Bien.

Food was ok, ambiance ok, service, not good at all – we ordered our food and my husband’s order and an appetizer were not brought to the table – they basically forgot the orders. My son and I were already eating and we were more than half way through when they FINALLY brought the orders with ZERO apologies and only after I’d inquired TWICE about the missing orders. Food was just ok-nothing to write home about. Like the free ample parking and that’s about it.

Food was good, but service was really bad. I guess the waiters dont care much about customers. Food was delivered to our table without silverware. Also, waiters with a bad attitude toward customers. We were done with our food and ready to order desert, and i asked for them to clean up the table; 30 minutes out, still nobody to clean up the table. Whats a bad experience!!!

All quiet on the frontier. We arrived at this restaurant around 7:30pm and there was literally two other tables than our own. Maybe people in the area eat late? Anyway, once the ball started rolling, the customer service was excellent. They made sure that we had time to order and appeared with the food in a timely manner. I got the grilled pork over rice. And my friend ordered phở with fatty flank. The presentation of my grilled pork over was beautiful. Not only did it come with your veggies(pickled cucumber and carrot and lettuce), it included a soup broth with one pork rib. I enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. And will be back when I can. We came to the restaurant at night and it was beautifully lit complete with Christmas lights. I can guess that with all the boutiques and shops in the plaza, that it can be a fun place to window-shop and walk around.

One is hard to give but I must. My bo luc lac tasted like someone ordered it, didn’t want it and it was cooked up again for me. How do I come to this conclusion? My nephews bo luc lac that came out 5 minutes later was steaming and the meat looked super fresh. We were told to come here because it is pretty and clean. It is pretty and clean but the food was just blah. Maybe you can try a different place and enjoy it. I will have to say my brothers hu tieu looked delicious compared to what I got. Oh well you live, eat and learn.

I ordered the hu tieu nam vang kho and it was not edible… the sauce that they smoother the noodles in is super super sweet. There was no hint if saltiness at all. The rice plates are mediocre… the grilled pork I got last time was a bit on the bland side. The only plus is being able to order the nem nuong cuon here. I’m not sure I would come back… I’d rather go to their Phở 90 restaurant next door. By the way, they didn’t have diet coke tonight… this is the first time I’ve ever been to a restaurant that was«out» of diet soda…

Good thing about this place is that they are open late. Their food is average on all levels. It’s not memorable but it’s not bad at all. However, service leaves a lot to be desired. The food takes forever to come out! And the waiters are not very attentive or personable. Not that surprising for an Asian restaurant but usually food in Asian restaurants are pretty quick to come out. I would recommend this place if you’re in the area and in the mood for Vietnamese food, especially at later hours.

What I like most about this restaurant is that it is open late, allowing me to be able to get a full, hearty meal that isn’t fast food. The name of the place would imply that it specializes in rice plates, but in my opinion, it’s kind of a jack of all plates, offering a wide variety of Vietnamese, single item dishes. There is bound to be something for everyone. They don’t particularly excel at any one item, however, and that’s why to me, it’s just average. Out of all the things I’ve had here, I actually really like whatever #60 is on their menu, lol. I can’t specifically recall what it was but it is a type of hu tieu. Definitely a solid option. Their rice plates are pretty decent, nothing special and nothing that sucked. The restaurant itself was clean and well maintained, which can’t be said for all Asian restaurants Their service time however was extremely lacking. I went later at night, say 10:00PM and it wasn’t generally THAT busy, yet in the time it took me to finish eating my order, my mom’s still has not come out. I’m not quite sure how often I would come here to eat, but definitely for those late nights where you’re looking for a full meal, this is the place to come.

A group of my family members wanted to have lunch in Vietnam Town. Everyone had a phở craving. We all ended up at Com 90 Degree due to a friend’s recommendation. Our party of eight(six adults and two kids) sat in the outdoor area. It was nice outside and the kids could be as loud as they want. No one else was dinning outside, so my niece and nephew can be as loud as they want! Based on my friend’s recommendation, I went and ordered the #15 with extra meat on the side. His explanation of his experience with the #15 made me want to indulge that experience as well. Once I placed my order, I patiently waited for my dish to come out. The phở bowl came out piping hot, accompanied with a small plate of the extra meat that I ordered. Apparently, it seemed that I order the wrong kind of meat. I ordered extra rare steak instead of cooked flanked steak, which was part of the dish. The side meat seemed to have came straight out of the fridge since it was a bit cold. When adding the meat into my phở, what was once piping hot is now just luke warm due to the coldness of the rare steak. **Insert sad face**. What I had expected out of this dish didn’t turn out the way it was suppose to, per the explanation by my friend. I do plan on coming back, but this time I’ll have to get the steak on the side cooked, not raw. I really want to do it right next time when I visit.

I ordered the com tam, #41 ! It was good but not the best I had in San Jose ! The décor looks very upscale for a Vietnamese restaurant and it’s also the sister restaurant of phở 90 I would come back here if I’m craving a rice plate in the area. The portions were pretty big too! I came back and ordered the #47. It was very similar to the #41. It came with an extra side. It was good ! I liked this more than the #41.

This is indeed the other nice sister to the Phở 90 next door. Both are very clean but this place has rice plates while the other one has about two and both are chicken. I was in the mood for a rice plate and was tired of the usual haunts. Vu reminded me about this place when we were here the other day. Btw– you can order and eat your rice plate at the sister restaurant if there’s two of you and one wants a rice plate from here. They will even give you the menu from the other side and vice versa. How nice! I had the #49. Loved it! For $ 11+ it was loaded with just different stuff. Grilled pork, pickled vegetables(big portion), egg dish, broken rice, shredded pork, and some shrimp wrapped around a sugar cane and a crunchy dish with some shrimp inside. I took half of it home! The staff were so nice. This particular restaurant is a lot less busier than their phở sister but the rice plate definitely rocked my belly! Tasty and awesome portion! Why the low rating on Unilocal? No idea!

Beauty 5 stars Food 3.5 stars Service meh We came before 4p, decided to do homework and it’s 6pm and no one else has walked in the door, nada! It’s great having this whole entire place to yourself. I can wave someone down and they let you chill, well, there’s still no one else coming in lol. I got a seafood rice noodle soup which was nice, the squid was fresher than other places. Side order of prawn for $ 4 geez two pieces, at least it tasted good. Oh well, we’re alone VIP style this place is Gawdy pretty.
