Description

Specialties

Newest Curry Up Now and Mortar & Pestle Bar location now open in San Jose. Curry Up Now was established in 2009 as the Bay Area’s first Indian Street Food on a Mobile Truck. Items on the menu include our iconic Chicken Tikka Masala Burrito, Deconstructed Samosas, Naughty Naan and Sexy Fries, plus we have an extensive list of gluten free and vegan options.

History

Established in 2009.

Akash and Rana Kapoor started Curry Up Now with a mission to bring the Indian street foods from their childhood to the Bay Area. With no formal training and a huge appetite they were able to turn one food truck into four restaurant locations. Our food is a unique take on Indian street favorites, with flavors Akash and Rana love from around the world. We make the flavors and dishes they grew up with, and even if you can’t pronounce them right, we hope you like the food as much as we do.

Business Owner

Our founders, Akash and Rana Kapoor got their start running a successful mortgage banking business for 10 years. Being the foodies that they were, they had dreams of getting into the food business and in 2009 their dream came true with the launch of the very first Indian Street Food Truck in the Bay Area. The Kapoor’s entire family, from their parents, who created many of the recipes we use today, to their kids, who are their guinea pigs and biggest critics of our food, ensure that we stay true to our roots and serve great tasting, quality food daily.
