DD also sometimes leads the kids in games, teaches magic tricks to the older kids and can lead everyone in fun and humorous interactive songs.

History

Established in 1992.

Daffy Dave has been performing Comedy Magic, Juggling, and Music since 1992 and has been awarded Best Children’s Entertainer by the readers of Bay Area Magazine for nine years in a row. Daffy Dave also has 6 children’s music CD’s and 2 DVD’s on the market. One of his songs, «Soccer Rock N Roll», was aired on NBC’s Today Show in 2005 and 2010. His 2003 local TV Show, «Daffy Dave’s Tree Fort» (Now available on DVD) won 2nd place in the National HomeTown Video Awards. His music has won awards in 2005 for Best Song and Best Album by the Children’s Web Music Awards. Daffy Dave also has several videos on You Tube (just search «Daffy Dave»), one of which, «The Toy Train», in collaboration with Raoul Pop, has gone viral with over 5 million views! He has a very active website and fan club with thousands of fans and is loved by many kids and families in the Bay Area and beyond.

As the owner of the Daffy Dave character and entertainment enterprise, I have enjoyed creating and constantly improving my show business since 1992. I was an ordained minister for 4 years prior to this and had my own parish in Idaho Falls, Idaho until I moved out to California to change vocations because I loved entertaining children and families so much. I also love to travel to foreign countries, garden, read, watch excellent films, hike, and be in nature whenever I can. I also love to teach kids and visit several Bay Area Schools teaching soccer, circus skills, and leading kids in music and movement classes.

Daffy Dave was marvelous and magical for our daughter’s 9th birthday party. After dinner, Daffy Dave performed for an hour including cutting the birthday cake for 15 3rd graders with great wit, conversation, audience participation, and simple magic. The culmination was his guitar playing and getting all the girls up and dancing to some fun songs including the chicken dance. Fun for all!

Daffy Dave just performed for our son’s 7th birthday party. They loved it.
He was also good at gently getting them to fall back in line when they got a little crazy yelling out potty jokes during his act (as happens at this age). You can see he really has the experience.
He played some silly songs on his guitar while the kids were eating pizza, before the cake came out, which the younger kids particularly enjoyed.
I highly recommend him!

Daffy Dave really has a way with connecting and engaging with kids through jokes, songs, and laughter! Gut busting laughter and silliness ensued — parents were laughing, too.
This is such a welcome change from Pump it Up parties. My daughters and I were guests but I’d recommend him and consider him for birthday parties.

There was never a dull moment for parents to watch Dave perform his tricks. He cracked jokes like 401k. He could interact and keep the kids attention for a long period of time. He got my kid reaching for the sky like a seal. My group of 5 – 8 years old kids were just ROFL.
He arrived on the picnic site early and performed well in a windy day. I really appreciate his service and would recommend him.

I had Daffy Dave perform at my kids birthday party last week. He arrived to the party early, set up quickly, and said he’s ready to start the show anytime. He started the show and within seconds had the entire audience of 4 – 5 years olds and adults engaged and involved! He entertained my guests for a full hour — very impressive. I’d highly recommend having him entertain at any kids party!

Funniest guy ever. Raucous 5-​year old show had kids in stitches… and parents too! Best underwear jokes and other humor that kids go for. I love him. Daffy Dave is the best! I was pleasantly surprised to see how well he engages both kids and adults. He is very talented and extremely patient. I’ve now seen him on two occasions and will definitely consider hiring him if I need some entertainment for kids parties.

Daffy Dave is great! From our initial contact he’s always been very professional. Daffy Dave arrived about 30 minutes early, which was impressive since so many of our guests got lost finding the park! He was really great at gathering the kids to watch the show. All the kids really enjoyed the show. He sang, he cracked jokes, he did some magic. Even my 3 year old thought he was funny at that’s saying a lot! At the end of the show the kids got little toys as a prize and we got a DVD and CD as a keepsake.

Daffy Dave is so flippin’ funny! I hired Daffy Dave for my son’s 6th birthday party and I am so happy that I did. I got a screaming deal because the adults enjoyed him too! I laughed so hard that my abs hurt for a few days after the party. Laughter is therapy and it was so great to get my laugh on. The kids had a fantastic time and laughed just as hard as the adults. The little friends at school are still talking about Daffy Dave and how fun the party was. Dave is hysterical, engaging, friendly, talented, and his show is a must see. Hire him or check him out at a public event. Daffy Dave is awesome! Highly recommended by this mama!

Well, its not as though youre going to read anything new in this review! Daffy Dave is the absolute BEST!
First, my son saw Dave at my husband’s «take your kid to work day» festivities. Hubs said that our little guy (3 yrs at the time) was rolling on the floor laughing! There was a broad age range in the audience, but EVERYONE was laughing and having a great time.
So… when it came time to put together a party for our both of our boys, we knew just who we wanted to call for entertainment! When booking him, Dave was professional, responsive, and showed great follow-​through and follow-​up! He confirmed the date via email well in advance and we were so impressed.
When he arrived that day, he arrived about an hour early. Mind you, we had expected to pay for a certain number of hours, and when he arrived so early I expected he’d come, leave some stuff, and maybe go grab a coffee or sit in his car… basically I assumed he’d do his own thing until «showtime». That was not the case. He arrived in costume and set right to work. He set up his props and while guests arrived, he played music, talked with my starstruck son and the rest of the kids, and pretty much performed, right from the get-​go!
When the time DID come for him to start his show, the kids (ranging in age from 2 to 6 years) were mesmerized… clapping, laughing, and just having the most amazing time! We also had a bouncy house… you wouldnt know it when Dave performed. The kids sat on our lawn and paid complete attention to him for the hour he performed.
When it ended, I again expected him to pack up his things and hit the road. He did not. He hung around and played his guitar for a little while, and was just such a nice, fun prescence to have around.
We also received a DVD and CD of his songs and performances, and the boys LOVE to relive their day again and again and sing all of his songs!
I was left feeling so impressed by his professionalism, his performance, and really, the LEVEL of energy he put into his show. To see the little ones just loving every minute of it was the very best part, and each time I think about that day, my heart swells with appreciation for what he did to make it special for our boys and their friends.
I should also say that we follow Dave on Facebook, where he posts shows that he is doing for a variety of different crowds (often free). AND he has a youtube channel where you can watch videos for his songs. We just love, love, LOVE Daffy Dave! :)

Daffy Dave made my son’s fifth birthday an event to remember! He is not only a great entertainer for kids, but subtly and cleverly keeps the interest of the adults too. Kids love him for the uniquely Daffy jokes and for getting to be part of the show. From happy laughs to Beatles’ songs, which Daffy makes sound as coming from an entire band, he had 40 kids and just as many adults enthralled for an hour and a half. He even made us forget that pizza was late by half an hour! Thank you, Daffy! We can’t wait to have you throw a party again!

If you are planning a party for young children and enjoy seeing a bunch of happy faces, and hearing lots of genuine laughter, then perhaps Daffy Dave may be the right guy for your party. He sincerely loves kids, knows the tricks to draw them in, keeps them guessing, throws in some subtle humor for the adults, and leaves them pleading for more. He does comedy, twists balloons into fun stuff, sings songs and performs some magic as well. It’s a nice variety of stuff that is well paced and makes it easy for a parent to provide a simple, more interactive alternative to Pump It Up.

Daffy Dave is hilariously funny for kids of all ages! Check out his Youtube videos, he’ll crack you up! He has a bunch of kids CDs, I bought one for my nephew who loved it, great for entertainment on a road trip. He also has DVD’s. Thinking about Daffy Dave makes me want to borrow a kid so I can have a party :-) He’s a genuinely nice guy also.

What can I say… I’m a Daffy Dave fan. I’ve seen him once when he performed at a Breakfast with Santa event. Usually, with kids entertainment, I’ll pay attention and maybe smile a little, but Daffy Dave was in an entirely different zone. I’m not kidding when I say that the smallest of kids and the oldest of adults were all cracking up.
Daffy Dave is one of the few entertainers that can please all audiences. Seriously, he has natural comedic talents. He’s not just one of those people who «tries» to be funny (and we all know people like that). He’s one of those people that just «IS» funny.
It’s been almost 2 years since we seen him, and the kids still talk about him. I just seen that he’ll be performing at a local library to entertain the kiddos this summer. My son and I are looking forward to it.

We just had Dave at my son’s 7th birthday party. We had heard of him through our kids when he visited their pre-​school and my son specifically requested him. I heard he was funny but … All of the kids (there were ten kids ranging from 5 – 8) were rolling on the floor laughing for most of the hour and a half he entertained them. The only risk is that you must enforce bathroom breaks for the kids! What surprised me was how entertaining Dave is for adults. All of the adults present who would normally take the opportunity to chat were completely engaged and laughing out loud. Dave is great entertainment for all ages. You will not be disappointed. My son was thrilled.

I work at a Country Club where Dave is a recurring entertainer. The kids go nuts! He’s engaging. I sat down and had dinner with him after his second performance, and he’s just a wonderfully warm man to boot.
He charges a decent chunk o’ change, so we didn’t have him back this year, but hey… I think if he’s able to get away with it, stays busy on that wage… then more power to him!

We invited Dave to our daughter’s 4th birthday few years back, and again for 5th and 6th. After the first year, people started to ask «Will Daffy Dave be there again?» We have gotten way too many compliments for our choice of entertainment as much as for the party.
We have been to many birthday parties and yet we have not seen anyone at Dave’s caliber. He manages to entertain more than 30 plus kids and plus some 30 adults all at the same time for a quite period of time with nothing but laughter. He is a true talent and a true professional.
We also have all his CD’s and DVD’s. All his songs are not only educational and fun, but also very original and very good.
Great personality overall. This man smiles and laughs with his heart and makes you smile and laugh with your heart, too. So I do recommend him with all my heart.

Just wanted to write a review for Daffy Dave who made our 3 year old’s birthday party a total blast! He totally defrayed the potential stress of having 50 guests of all ages and had everyone from age 3 on up in hysterics! It’s been awhile since I have laughed so hard myself. He helped with the flow of the party and we couldn’t be more grateful for how happy he made our son and therefore us! Couldn’t recommend more highly.

We had Daffy Dave entertain at our son’s third, fourth and fifth birthday parties. Our son is now 7−½, but Dave commented to us when we ran into him more recently, «at this rate, I’m expecting to perform at your son’s retirement party.»
The Daff-​meister has a way with the little ones with the right combination of slapstick humor, magic, jokes and music. He slips in enough references that only a baby-​boomer parent would appreciate. E.g., «she’s buying a StairMaster to 7-​Eleven.»
Our younger daughter is currently into princesses, so we may have to wait until our 1 year old is old enough to have Dave back for another encore. In the meantime, we’ve bought all his albums and continue to play them in the car on long trips.
