Having Danny and Julia as my wedding photographers was one of the best of the best decisions I made for my wedding!!! I normally do not write Unilocal review, but I need to put some good words for Danny and Julia. I cannot express how happy and lucky I am to have them as our wedding photographers.
Shopping for a wedding photographer can be very hard. I have high expectations on a lot of things. I only want high end vendors on my wedding. I saw some of my friends wedding pictures and I know I would not be happy if my wedding pictures turned out like that. Luckily and I am so happy I found Danny. I followed his art work on Facebook for a while. I know that is the style I want. We contacted Danny and we met with him on his studio. He is so fluent. He walked us through the big day photo shooting process, his style and the timeline. We know we can be relieved with him being there. I know I can just smile and laugh as much as I want and he will catch the memorable moments.
We had both our engagement and wedding pictures with Danny and Julia. They are very professional, detail oriented and easy to work with. He gave you a lot of good suggestions on where to take engagement pictures and what time of the day to take it. My engagement pictures turned out speechless. On my wedding Day, Danny and Julia arrived earlier than the expected timeline just to check on spots of our hotel regarding to where to shoot pictures. Every time I looked at Danny and Julia, they were always with the camera. I never saw them rest. They always have the camera with them running around the ballroom. I even went to them and said please take a break and have some food. They took thousands of pictures for my wedding day. They all came out great. His pictures speak for themselves. He put you in the art work, not just simply pictures.
If you are one of those brides, like me, with high expectations and only love beautiful things, it won’t go wrong by having Danny and Julia in your wedding.

Hehe this is interesting. I am writing this review is because I just witness a very very interesting event.
Just couple of minutes ago, I commented on Danny’s photos posted on Facebook, several pictures showing bride changing into her wedding gown, nude, in lingerie, lace lingerie hence her butt is well defining and showing. I was quite shocked and commented «is the bride okay for nude picture posting for public». I think it is a valid concern as I studied copyrights — photographers own the photos and can do whatever he/​she wants. Also as a bride myself on the conservative side, I think this picture is inappropriate to post for public viewing. No need to explain, so I posted the comment. And just well after 1 minute, my comment was deleted. As a consequence, I was blocked and deleted from Danny’s friends list. (blocked means I can not even see his post even those setting to post publicly)
Not a big deal. I was not planning to hire him anyways. I approached Danny’s service is because I was seeking for a photographer for my sister. End up she made her decision elsewhere.
Obviously, this is not a «customer» review. Or I call it «unwelcomed customer» review. I have revealed the truth as 1) Danny takes nude pictures and post to public, inappropriate to my insights at least. (WARNING to brides who are as conservative as me, or about to have a stubborn husband) 2) he hides stuff, quickly and completely. Yes, that s okay. You may pay to hide Unilocal review as well. But, I guess once you learned how to live in the Internet world, you probably would not want to do that.

I knew Danny and Julia were perfect from reviews (just look below!), but were they perfect for me? My husband and I decided to book them for our wedding which happened a month ago.
They exceeded our expectations on all counts.
1) Professionalism
Danny and Julia showed utmost professionalism throughout our wedding planning process. They were always prompt to reply to emails. They showed up for our wedding on time and prepared. They were calm and collected throughout the wedding.
2) Support
Danny and Julia made everyone feel at ease. They care about their customers, and go above and beyond to meet their needs. On my wedding, they were quick to connect with the guests and abundant in their words of support. Posing for pictures is not everyone’s forte but the guests made their best attempts with the encouragement from Danny and Julia. (And I hear this from the guests themselves!)
3) Resourceful
Danny and Julia knew all the best places to take pictures! They know in which location, at what angle, in what direction, with which pose to take the pictures that dazzle and amaze. For example, they arranged my wedding shoes (I wore three pairs) in a beautiful array on the window blinds with the heels as hooks (creative). With the sun shining through the window creating a ray against the shoes, the image was nothing short of magical.
4) Comprehensive
I have no doubt Danny and Julia captured every important aspect of our wedding and more. They were quick on their feet, agile with their hands and eyes. They were everywhere we wanted them to be, at the right time. These people were so hardworking that they seemed to be in two places at the same time.
5) Style
Danny and Julia fit my style. Their eye for beauty — connecting art with reality– never fails to amaze me. With them leading us through beautiful landscapes around the wedding venue, to posing against a backdrop of amazing natural and artificial light… I can only imagine the magazine-​perfect pictures they will surprise us with.

Danny and Julia are the BEST! I would highly recommend them!
We meet with them at their home and Danny went through slideshows of all their work and we were blown away with his eye for capturing special moments and editing. After meeting with them, we knew we needed to have them for our special day. Danny was professional and great throughout the whole process of helping us pick locations and creating a schedule for the day of the wedding. He brings such great energy and we all had so much fun taking pictures with him.
They are worth every penny and their work speaks for itself!

Danny and Julia are hands-​down the top notch wedding photographers who are talented, passionate, fun, and take good care of their customers. My wife and I can’t be happier with our experience with them. There are a lot of reasons why we like this talented couple so much, but I want to highlight two, which I think are important for couples to know:
1. You are always in good hands. You really are.
I am a true believer that wedding photography is essentially a service industry. Danny and Julia provide great customer service to make sure that you are in good hands. And you truly are. They not only provided helpful guidance on location, outfit, natural yet flattering pose, but also are very experienced in coping with unexpected logistics /​situations on the shooting day to make sure these nuances won’t affect your photo quality. In our example, one of the locations we planned to shoot initially happened to close early to the public due to an event. But this doesn’t bother Danny at all. He quickly spotted an amazing place nearby with his artist eyes, and the photos came out stunning. It actually turns out to be one of the photos that received the most compliments. This is very important for a wedding photographer, as on a wedding day, there are tons of unexpected situations that may happen, and there IS something that goes wrong (trust me). Having a photographer who is skillful and experienced, and can always return stunning photos regardless of the scenarios is of ultimate importance. (You only have one big day in your life, and there is no re-​take.)
2. The quality of their photos definitely stand out. Pay attention to how Danny utilizes the lighting, and the details and texture of his photos, you will know what I mean.
To sum up, Danny and Julia are off the charts amazing. If wedding photo is something you do care about, hire them. You can’t go wrong.

A picture is worth a thousand words.
Just go to their blog and you’ll see what I’m talking about. When I first came across Danny’s work, I was in awe. His photos look like something out of a movie or a magazine. With Danny, you are not just paying for his photography, but also for his editing. He truly is an artist.
Danny and Julia are a great husband and wife duo. They are so fun & energetic and will make you feel instantly at ease.
I want to clear something up… I believe my photos are the ones Gracie L. is referring to because she wrote the review the day he posted my pictures on Facebook. As a customer, she has the right to be concerned and ask about the privacy issues. To be honest, Danny never asked me permission to post the photos online, however, I never asked him not to post the photos publicly beforehand. Maybe he thought I was comfortable with it because I was fine taking those photos on the day of the wedding? At first, I was hesitant to even «like» the photos on Facebook knowing that it will show up on my friends’ wall. I am usually a pretty reserved and self-​conscious person, but I just thought to myself, «f*ck it!» This is art. In return, I received a lot of great feedback from family & friends that they thought these risqué photos were sexy, tasteful and elegant.
I will say that there were some small details and close-​up photos that I felt were missing/​not captured. Also, he moved the location of family & friends photos on the fly even though everyone was already gathered in the original location. This made it confusing to everyone so many family members ended up missing from the pictures and photos with friends were not taken. My advice is to make up a list of everything you want photographed or at least make it known.
At the end of they day, I am happy how everything came out. What we have are beautiful photos we will cherish forever and will someday share with our kiddos (even the nakkie ones!)

I definitely recommend Danny and Julia for their professional services on photography, we choose Danny and Julia as our engagement and wedding photographers because their work or art are different from other photographers. I recommend them because of the following reasons:
1, The fact of their photos are quite unique but can describe the feeling between my wife and myself perfectly
2, As a photographer the most important thing it to catch the best moment, therefor Danny and Julia obviously have done a fantastic job for shooting both events
3, Danny would lay on the ground or crawling into mud to shoot best pictures and that impressed me a lot, in my opinion in order to become someone who is really good at your professional you have to have the gut to do that
4, Easy to communicate is another big part we consider, because my wife and I both speak Mandarin, we need someone can easily talk and provide directions when taking photos
5, Their experience of where to shoot photos around Bay Area is a big plus, they know all the best places in San Francisco, I was surprised to that day when Danny and Julia led us to a place that can view the best city view without any problem and of course we took bunch of great shots there
We may come back ask Danny and Julia to take more photos for us when we have our first kid or for any other big events that will happen in the future

Danny and Julia are awesome! I absolutely love their unique artistic style. They are truly professionals and have a passion for what they do. Danny and Julia shot my engagement, wedding, and boudoir session. I’m a bit shy and conservative and was a bit apprehensive about doing a boudoir session but I’m soo happy I did it. Danny and Julia made me feel very comfortable and at ease. Danny would step out of the room and Julia would help me pose and then Danny would come in. The photos were meant for my husband and I but after seeing how tastefully the photos were done, I absolutely loved them! They asked for our permission before posting any photos. My hubby and I love Danny and Julia’s work so much that we had they takes our first pregnancy boudoir session as well! They even won an award for the photos at WPPI last year in Vegas and was exhibited in the gallery. Their work is amazing and they have such cute personalities! Love, love, love them!

Danny and Julia are an amazing couple and we are really glad we asked them to shoot photos for our wedding day. Because prices for wedding photos can be quite high, my husband and I asked for a basic package with a pretty tight schedule of events… Danny and Julia went above and beyond and took about 3,000 beautiful photos of our special day, which we have recently transformed into our own handmade wedding album. Their artistic talent and skills to capture the most special moments are apparent on their blog. They also make families, friends, bride and groom, comfortable and happy to have their photos taken. They are punctual, responsible, timely, and easy to work with even if it’s your first time interacting with professional photographers. I would not hesitate to recommend Danny and Julia for our closest friends and families. Their photos capture memories that will stay with you for a lifetime :)

I had Danny and Julia shoot my June 1^st 2014 wedding in Berkeley, CA. Their works are simply breathtaking. I have been following Danny’s blog for several years — even before I met my husband. I enjoyed browsing his blog back and forth for fun. Seems to me what makes Danny stands out from other wedding photographers is his unique compositions, artistic angles, and striking finishes.
So when it finally came to my own wedding, Danny was absolutely my only option. It was a hot day in Berkeley and my ceremony venue was in a rose garden up in the mountain. Danny and Julia climbed up and down the hills and shot all the scenes that I requested. They made the guests laugh out loud when they took our group photos. They arrived earlier and left later than indicated in the contract. They were definitely professional and pleasant to work with.
Even though I was so familiar with Danny and Julia’s works, I was nervous waiting for my photos after the wedding. It was like an elementary school girl waiting for her test scores. Because I was the bride, you know. Needless to say, their works are beyond AMAZING. I was emotional when I finally saw the copies. Even my most picky and proud girlfriend had to admit that my wedding photos are more beautiful than hers — she once said her wedding photos were insurmountable… LOL!
As I mentioned, our ceremony venue was in a rose garden. Danny and Julia captured the lush, colorful «secret garden» moments for us. Our reception venue was in a historical, gothic style building. They then created the classic and timeless pieces for us. Danny and Julia must have different vision than most others — that’s how I explain to myself why they are able to interpret the people and the surroundings in such a harmonious manner.
My review may already look verbose, but I’d like to stress one thing that I appreciate about Danny and Julia: the memorable and professional boudoir session.
Overall I am a fan of boudoir photography; they are sexy. Danny and Julia’s boudoir photos are not only sexy, but also sensual and classy. So I told Danny and Julia I wanted a boudoir session and asked Julia to prepare a veil for my poses. However, on my wedding day, I changed my mind on the veil. I just wanted to use my wedding gown. On top of that, I forgot to prepare nubra as Julia instructed… But Julia just smiled, opened her bag, and took out a pair of sticker nubra for me. I was so grateful!
During the boudoir session, Julia taught me to artistically cover my body and helped me to pose; whereas Danny stepped out the room whenever I adjusted poses. Together, they created the natural and beautiful boudoir photos for me. My husband absolutely loves them. I was so proud of my body and my decision! Since, for me, these photos are private, I asked Danny and Julia to not show them on their blog. They totally understood my concern and had no problem doing so.
Now my wedding is done, but I still go to their blog to enjoy their latest works. I am so proud of you, Danny and Julia. You are the best!

Danny and Julia are dream photographers. Their work speaks for itself. The moments they captured were unbelievable and like nothing I have ever seen.
Upon inquiring and meeting them I found they were very professional and passionate about their work. They were very welcoming at their in home studio and I immediately was amazed with their presentation. Danny shoots the big picture while Julia captures the details. They work so well together and both are equally incredible. We got the engagement and wedding day package. This was the best investment we made for our wedding.
They also were very accommodating because our wedding was a bit complicated: we invited our guests to come to our wedding shower at a movie theater to later reveal the wedding was that very day! They worked around our schedule capturing everything: the moments in the theater, bridal party getting ready, the wedding, and reception. They had to drive to many places and they did it without question.
I still have many people rave about our photos to this day. They made me feel like a model from a magazine and very easy to work with. Our vintage engagement session even appeared in a Chinese bridal magazine!
We received ALL of our photos on a disc — edited and unedited. This was great when making our own photo albums. Everything came in a timely manner and they were very responsive to emails and questions.
When choosing photographers for the most important day of your life, you don’t want to skimp out and you want to chose the best. Danny and Julia are just that.
As for the «boudoir» type photos, they make it very aware that they are taking these and ask permission beforehand. They will not do anything if you don’t feel comfortable. If you don’t want them to be public then they will not post. Please take those negative reviews with a grain of salt.

I had a big headache when I was looking for photographers for our wedding. After reviewing many photographer’s portfolio, I didn’t like any of them. Until one day my friend told me about Danny. The first time I saw the pictures on his blog, I totally fell in love with them!
We had great experience with Danny and Julia since our first meeting and I’m really glad that we chose them for our wedding. Our pictures came out very nice, romantic and beautiful. Danny and Julia are very professional, on the busy wedding day, they did their best catching every moment of our wedding. They communicated with us in advance and on the wedding day, about the order of the shooting, the style that we like, etc. And helped us made out crazy idea of jumping into the pool really fun, and captured all the happy moments!
Wedding is really just a money burning party, but at the end of the day, the only thing that’s left are mostly pictures. I highly recommend Danny and Julia if you are looking for photographers who can leave you unforgettable memories on your special day!

Danny and Julia are exceptional wedding photographers, not only to mention the wedding pre-​couture photos they shot for us are phenomenal, they also provided hearty services with all the suggestions and helps from the beginning.
When we approached them for wedding pre-​couture session, we have no idea how it would end up. Danny and Julia were very patient and showed us lots of their amazing products and also willing to address our concerns and questions. I remembered we had two info sessions before the service and it was really helpful. We got to nail down the theme, locations, styling, and makeups without lost of hassles. As a customer, we feel that we got to ask for what we like, and they helped further to transform it to even better ideas.
And we also truly appreciated Danny and Julia delivered our pictures in such short time, so that we can have them ready for the show in our wedding day. The pictures came out amazingly, way way better than what we could think of. Everyone loves every picture we took. It became one of the shiniest highlight on our wedding day.
We also ordered the album. When we received the delivery, it was very nice but the cover was not what Danny put in the order. Danny and Julia was on vacation at that time, but they still responded to our email quickly. They immediately followed up with the album company abroad, and found out the mistake from them. Danny then helped us handled the return and re-​ordering. We were glad that the album eventually on our hands with the way exactly what we wanted.
If you are looking for wedding or pre-​couture, they are definitely the one!

Danny and Julia are really great! We had our pre-​wedding portrait with the nice couple. They are very professional and very welcoming.
Danny showed us a lot of amazing photos for references so that we can pick our favorite places. We also got a lot of helpful advice on dressing and other stuff. On the actual shooting day, they arrived much early then scheduled to get prepared. Our session was in Napa and SF, so we were always on tight schedule that day. Danny and Julia were so patient and thoughtful, they carefully scheduled the time and made it possible for us to catch the sunset in SF.
After the shooting session, we got our photos pretty fast and they are stunningly beautiful! Our parents cannot keep their eyes off them for couple of days!
My wife and I really enjoyed the days we spent with Danny and Julia. They are awesome!

Danny and Julia are great. We enjoyed our many photography sessions taken by them. His pricing is very reasonable because you can choose any price option you think is best. Danny also spent time to understand our personalities and help us get ready for our photos. When I was walking on the beach, Julia picked up my high heels for me and helped make my hair nicer too. I can tell they care about every customer. Danny and Julia brought us around different locations to choose the best place for us to use. I don’t know why someone made so bad and unreal review for Danny and Julia. Actually they are the most nice couple I ever had business with. I had my pre-​wedding shooting with them a couple months ago and they were so professional. We flight far away from Texas to take our pre-​wedding portrait but we never regret to have them as our photographers. Since we don’t have car, Danny and lovely Julia drove their car and took us to different places for shooting with NO extra charge!!! Also, at the night of shooting it rained heavily in San Francisco and they never stop working. We all know their equipment are expensive but they didn’t mind. All they want was to help us to keep our best and most beautiful memories!
I never believe that people say them refuse their client because of money!!! Actually they did more work than what it said in the contract!!! Please be grateful to other people’s work because you never know they stay up all nights to let us get our pictures as soon as possible, and you never know they barely eat while shooting just want to help you save your time!!!

This wife and husband duo is ridiculously awesome! I’ve been in the event industry for 7 plus years now and they’ve become one of my favorite wedding photographers in the business. What can I say about Danny & Julia’s work, but ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!
My now husband and I have been together for over eleven years and are high school sweethearts, so for our wedding we wanted to find the perfect photographer to capture our special day. I searched and interviewed so many different photographers, but was unable to find anyone that had an artistic outlook on how I envisioned my wedding to be. That was until I came across Danny Photo Studio.
I came across Danny Photo Studio as I was browsing Bay Area photographers on-​line. What caught my interest to Danny’s photos was the vibrant colors and the clarity of his photos. I loved the candid moments and absolutely loved how his photos told a story. I immediately sent an email to Danny, not even realizing how late it was, sorry Danny, but to my amazement, I received a reply within minutes. I live through my phone, so for Danny to be so prompt with his email responses and phone calls is a brides dream come true.
We met with Danny and Julia at their home, which was a plus as we were able to see all their beautiful photography, from portraits, to photo books and slide shows. Danny and Julia are very friendly and listened to what we wanted, which made them very easy to work with. We booked Danny and Julia for our Engagement Photos and Wedding Photos and they turned out great. We had so many compliments on our photos and at the wedding, Danny and Julia dressed professionally. We were so impressed by their work that we also booked them for our Trash the Dress session, which was so much fun.
