I can’t believe this POS company is still in business! I hope my review scared people away!

This company is crap. I called and was quoted $ 55 for the tow (6 miles-​from Santa Clara to Sunnyvale. Oh and there would be an additional fee for being over a 5 mile tow, a hook up fee and expenses that could add up to $ 95. It was a Saturday and I needed to get the car in the shop so I said OK.
The driver called within the specified window to let me know he’d be an additional 20 minutes so that wasn’t so great. When he arrived though, he had a flatbed, that was covered in fresh oil. He explained that he had towed a wrecked car earlier that morning (no time to clean I guess).
So then when we arrive at my repair shop, I fill out the form and he swipes my card. The receipt prints out and at the bottom I see: SALE AMOUNT $ 150
$ 150? That’s outrageous. So I tell him it’s way over the quote. He explains that the towing fee is $ 95 and the «service charge» is $ 55. Service charge? WTF is a service charge?
Well, I complained enough about it and got a $ 55 refund to bring it down to $ 95. Never thought I’d feel like I’d won after paying $ 95 for a tow.
Bottom line is: Get an ACTUAL quote over the phone and repeat it back. Better yet, use a company that Unilocaler’s have raved about. This POS tow company needs to be put out of business.

I called to get a quote for towing services at the time I was stranded. The guy David over the phone tells me that there’s a service charge of $ 49.99 and then it’s anywhere from $ 55-​$ 134 max for towing. Then proceeded to tell me that the driver will arrive between 20 – 25 mins but will call first to confirm I want the services. So he takes my first name, last name, phone number, make/​model of car, color of car, year of car. Last thing he asks me for is a credit card to put on file which he claims is necessary. He advises me in his exact words «nothing will be charged on your card until after you receive the services ma’am, but I do need a card on file.»
Of course I agreed. IT WAS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE! A cop finally arrived to assist with what’s going on due to the fact that I was obstructing traffic. I was right in the middle of the bridge on a turning lane! As soon as the police officer came is when the «driver» from the towing company calls me to ask for my exact location. The police officer asks that he speaks to the driver and informs the driver to cancel the service and that the police officer will find a towing company that will pick up my car much sooner.
I come home later that night and check my online banking only to find out that there’s a $ 55 charge!!! I then called the company and the same schemer guy, DAVID answers the phone. I explained what I had found out about the charge… he doesn’t even asks for my name and directly tells me that all he reads on his notes is that there’s a «CANCELLATION FEE» because the driver was already on his way! Then tells me that the billing dept will be opened tomorrow and hangs up the phone! WOW WOW WOW!
All I can say in conclusion is that this is a lesson learned for me about this company. I will be reporting them to the better business bureau ASAP.
