Deluxe Nail & Spa

This would be my 2^nd visit to the salon. The first time was off of Unilocal recommendation, the 2^nd time was from a groupon deal (totally unintentional). Both time the owner, Dung, did my manicure. She was very meticulate in properly cleaning the cuticle so my gel would last longer. My first set with gem stones lasted 3 months (i kid you not, my nails grew double the size I came in with) not a single chip, the stone was still there, the design was still intact. One of the thing I really appreciated is their customer service. They listen to your request and tried their best to be as close to the designs you show them as possible. Unlike some other shops that would only do what they feel like or what is the fastest designs possible. Would definitely come back for my regular maintenance, even if its every 3 months =)

Went for a manicure and pedicure. The lady giving me a pedicure ended up cutting off too much skin on my big toe. It bled quite a bit, and now I have a pretty bad infected toe (3 days later). It’s all puffy, red, oozing, and very very painful to walk on.
The manicure was nicely done though. I wish she had rounded out my nails a bit more as some of them weren’t evenly filed. She did push one cuticle back too far that bled a couple of times if it got bumped throughout the day, but nothing painful.
Because of this infection though, I question their sanitizing process.

I was interested when I saw the $ 5 off for new customers so I decided to give this place a try. Tracy did a great job with my gel manicure. One nail was filed slightly crooked, but that’s not a big deal for me. I’ll gladly come back to Deluxe.

This was my first gel manicure. They took me in as a walk in. The place seemed clean and the walls were a pleasant color. My technician spoke very little, if any, English. She nipped two of my cuticles into the nailbed to bleeding on one hand and one finger was inflamed and in pain for 3 days. Her cuticule instruments came out of a plastic box with other instruments that appeared to not be freshly sterilized which is why I think my finger hurt for days but I do not know their sanitation regimen. My technician gave me an arm/​hand massage and it seemed like she wanted to be anyplace but massaging my arm/​hand. Will be looking for another place. ($ 25 with a $ 5 tip).

I’m not pleased with my nails at all. I went with my friend and she got acrylic nails while I just wanted to get gel nails. The lady who was doing my nails, took her time with everything! By the time she finished trimming my cuticles and shaping my nails my friend already got acrylics on and just needed to put the gel color on. If it takes a hour+ to do gel nails I kinda expect them to be perfect, nope, color is uneven and blotchy looking. Although I had a bad experience, my friends nails looked great, I think Ava was the one who did hers, but Sabrina I think her name was wasn’t impressive.

Good for the price. The manager/​owner was nice and my girls liked their nails when they were done. But when training someone new don’t let that new person use sharp instruments until they are ready. My finger still hurts!

I am so upset. Yesterday I went in to get my nails done for a date night with my husband which we don’t get much with two small children. The older lady that did my nails looked miserable and pissed off. She never smiled or even spoke really, she just kinda motioned or «tapped» my hand when she wanted to switch hands to work on. She was drilling my nails and was very rough about it bringing it too far to the side to where it hit my finger many times. I said it hurt but she just completely ignored what I said. With the buffer/​nail file it was the same painful experience. She has no finesse in what she does. Anyway I was getting a full set with gel all red with one glitter nail. On the glitter nail for some reason she decides to use the non gel polish but rather the regular polish that comes with the gel color. I pointed this out to her and she again completely dismissed the fact that I had said anything. By now I’m thinking ok I’m never coming back here, I get up to pay and their machine isn’t working so Ava takes me next door to the liquor store so they can charge my card 35 dollars for the full set. As we are walking over I tell her about my complaints and she says «oh the gel top coat was out on so it should be fine .» And I said no if it’s 3 layers of gel it will last longer, regular polish doesn’t. To that she responds if there’s any issues come back and I’ll fix it for free. So while we are talking the liquor store guy only charges my card 30 to which Ava says «oh no 35 not 30.» I’m standing there like, seriously? After the complaints I had you’re gonna do that? Anyway the liquor store guy got busy with his customer so we were standing there waiting, so then Ava decides that she’s gonna give me a «discount» that was practically forced on her. Needless to say an hour into my date night my glitter nail was ruined … Can I sAy «I told you so!!!» To Ava and the lady that did my nails? :(going back today to get it fixed. See pictures.

Drove all the way from union city to check this place out. I was in the valley fair area anyway and I wanted to take advantage of the Unilocal deal. I called in a few days ahead to make an appointment, specifically with Ivy (I even mentioned it over the phone). When I got there, I thought the place was super cute. Not too busy, but they were only two people working — Ivy and an older lady. Ivy approached me and was really sweet, she told me she’d work on my manicure while the other lady would do my pedicure. The elderly lady wasn’t exactly a ray of sunshine. She looked like she hated her job and didn’t want to be there. I was the one who kept having to make conversation with her. The only time I saw a smile light up on her face was when I was paying and leaving the store. Anyway, while I was getting my pedicure done, another customer walks in for a facial I think. Ivy told her to come back another time because I had already made an appointment with her to do my nails. After going back and forth, she eventually decides to forget my nails and take the other customer in. She approaches me and tells me the lady doing my pedicure would do my mani as well because she had to take care of someone else. I get it, you want to take in as many customers as possible, but maybe next time consider having more employees inside the store considering you’re going to have plenty of walk ins throughout the day. The lady doing my pedicure also had to tell about 3 other customers who walked in to come back at a different time. I made an appointment a few days in advance requesting for a specific person and they weren’t able to accommodate that. Nails were decent but the service could be much better.

I love this place! I heard that there was a new salon open right by house so I decided to try it out. Ava is so personable and she remembered my name and my friends after only coming in one time! They do a great job and not overpriced. This is definitely my go to nail salon!

The older woman that said she was the manager did a terrible job on my gel manicure. It took her an hour and 20 minutes because she couldn’t see and had to re-​do the entire manicure. She filed down my nails to get the gel polish off and kept chipping at the side of my nails and then when she went to use a file to fix her mistakes she filed the side of my skin raw on 5 different fingers. I was in so much pain that for three days I had to take advil for the raw skin that felt like paper cuts.
My pedicure by Tracy was ok with no issues, just wish she would have cut my toe nails a little shorter.

Very clean and they spend a great amount of time taking care of you. It’s a cute little shop and I will definitely be back again.

wish i could give them 0 stars. i went in asked how long it would take to get me and my friend started, she said about 5 min… they started on my friend and kind of started on me. we both wanted shellac nails. they took off my acrylics and left to do someone elses nails. that took another hour… my friend finished her gel nails and they were the messiest job ever. i will post pictures. she asked to get them taken off because they were so messy… and that we did not want any service done by them as it was about 4.5 hours we were in there and i was late to another apointment. so they did. after they took them off they Filed her nails till they were super thin on purpose., and then were like oh to get them thick again you have to put on gel… we clearly told them we had to leave… we both just wanted our nails done and not to wait and get shitty nails.

I would totally give this place 0 stars if i could. I am extremely upset. The man that did my nails did a terrible job. But that wasnt even the worst part, the owner of the spa was so offended that after she scraped the gel off my nails she then decided to chisel down my nail to where it was weak and brittle. After thinning my nails out she told me that this was part of the process of putting gel nails on and that i needed to come back sometime this weak so they dont break. Clearly making it so i have to come back and get a gel manicure.

Ava did a remarkable job — 5 star job. Her work is meticulous & I am so pleased with my fill. Make an appointment though. I arrived for my appointment and apparently someone had come in for a pedicure which Ava had already started. She stopped to serve me, her appointment. She was the only person there that morning. Pros: clean, friendly, efficient, competitive pricing [except no extras — see below. Good listener: When she learned I liked to bake, she immediately turned on the TV for me to watch a cooking show
Cons: It is a no frills salon, did not have the amenities I was accustomed to at nail salons such as hand massage &/​or hot oil at no extra charge, having to get up and wash your hands off instead of having hands wiped with a hot towel. However when asked, Ava brought a hot towel for me to wipe my own hands, and extra charge for rounded nails vs squared. Still I would consider returning because Ava’s work is that good.

Had a fabulous experience at Deluxe Nails and Spa on Kaiser I went in last minute about 6:30 p.m. they were closing at 7 they graciously took me in gave me a gel fill,& pedicure created an amazingly unique design on my nails just love it. Sharing with you, I hope you like it too, fantastic service will definitely return

I stopped by on a whim before a vacation. The staff was super sweet and friendly. Their work was also very well done. The shop was clean and decorated fun.

They did a great job on my pedicure, and my daughter had a ball with her princess mani/​pedi.

This shop is so warm and inviting. Ava is so talented. She did a perfect job on my red & white tips. My nails grow in slanted and Ava altered them so they are now straight! Ava is a gifted artist but also fun & witty with a great sense of humor. Deluxe Nails is definitely the spa to go to in the San Jose area!!!

I went today for a Pedicure! It was awesome! The girls are really nice and listen to every detail of what you need, the place is super clean and the lady that did my pedicure was super nice and make an excellent work! Overall I recommend this place 100% definitely coming back!

Great nail spa. Went there tonight for the first time and was greeted with such friendliness by the ladies that work there. I got the Unilocal deal and got a shellac manicure and regular pedicure, which look amazing. They really took their time and did a great job and I love my nail color. I’m headed to Miami on vacation and the pretty purple-​pink color is perfect. Definitely recommend this place.

I went in yesterday right after I got their Unilocal coupon deal and i got a pedicure. I’m glad I did as this is great new nail/​beauty salon in San Jose! It’s not too small inside but it’s very clean and well lit, and they definitely take precautions to ensure the cleanliness (sterilizers for tools, plastic lining in the pedi water wells, fresh laundered towels, etc. Don’t let the parking lot or the outside view discourage you from trying this place out, you’ll be missing out on a great new nail salon. They’ve got two private rooms for waxing along with about 7 pedi chairs and a couple of manicure stations. I think the girl that owns this place works here with her mother, both of them are super friendly and very welcoming when you walk in.
I got their deluxe pedi and I also did some gel based toenail art designs as well. The owner can do any designs that you want as well as 3D nail art so if you have something in mind you can just show it to her and she’ll tell you if she can do it or not. I am extremely happy with the job that she did yesterday, I’ll definitely be back again the next time I need a pedi and toenail paint!

I went in today and took advantage of their Unilocal deal. got a pedi ($ 25 regularly) and shellac mani with French ($ 30) and only paid $ 35+tip for both!!! What a steal and my nails look perfect. Love the time taken with the mani and the color of my toes. They have opi curing machines and quality polish. Very cute, clean, brand new salon. Will definitely return

Today, like any other time I get my nails done, I couldn’t decide where to go. So I decided to try Deluxe and I’m so very glad I did! Everyone is so nice and does a fabulous job! I couldn’t be more happy with my nails! And it’s great to finally find a permanent nail spot for me! Very detailed, highly recommended!
