Established in 1998.

I started Dinner By Design in 1998 to provide nutritionally balanced meals for individuals who don’t have the know-​how or time to focus on cooking and dietary needs. With extensive training in the culinary arts, my heritage in food appreciation, and my desire for nutritional quality, I offer an exceptional dining experience without ever leaving the comforts of home.

Business Owner

My name is Michael Taravella. I am Executive Chef and owner of Dinner By Design, a personal chef service. At Dinner By Design, my goal is to provide high quality and nutritionally balanced meals for my clients and their families throughout the San Jose and South Bay areas of California. I am a graduate of the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, and attended graduate courses from the Culinary Institute of America. I also have five years of experience in corporate food service management and 20 years of experience as a chef.
