Justin the manager was great. he provided service the day i called. the work was outstanding. i could not see any damage, the car looked brand new. i would recommend this shop to anyone. the price was appropriate for the service completed. very fair and honest.

It is very nice work. I have a very lovely car, but one time, I got scratched very horrible. So my friend referenced me this place. After a week to fixed my car, Wow, it looks very nice like a brand new car. It is Very lovely… I truly recommend everyone can trust this place.

Justin has worked into my two cars for the past 3 years. He is sharp, straight forward, no BS. I never had to worry about him doing work that was unnecessary. Always did what it was needed, no more, no less, and is the most reasonable priced mechanic I know of. I take all my friends there. Recommend!

These guys were super solid when it came to fixing my brand new GTI. They always kept me updated with where my car was at at each stage of repair via phone call/​text message. They even gave me a discount on my deductible. After all the repairs were finished, my car was returned with a fresh detail, inside and out. I highly recommend this shop as it seems like they’ve turned a new leaf.
Don’t let the other reviews dissuade you, everyone has bad days, including the people taking their cars into a body shop, which is an alien world for a lot of people. As long as you go in being very humble (which is what a lot of people around here lack), instead of acting like you’re entitled to something, you will be just fine. You treat them with respect, you are sure to get it in return.

One star for being a STAR Certified smog check station — but DO NOT USE THIS PLACE FOR A SINGLE THING. They only get that star simply because it is actually a star hanging on the sign outside.
They dont greet customers or even care if you stood in the middle of the shop to gun them all down. Any vehicle here IS NOT SAFE! They do not have cameras (which the owner confirmed) and the cars are always just left all about.
Just dont do it. Please — trust me dont.

Very affordable price and a great value. I would recommend these guys to all. Talk to the manager to get a great deal. Shop around first and go there last. you will see the difference. Thanks guys

Very disappointed in this place! And, I really wanted it like it — just moved to the area and it would be super convenient to have a place to take the car that is in close proximity to my residence. However, I definitely will not be back.
I will say, aside from understanding next to no English, they all seemed nice. Except for an awkward first impression — stopped in on a Saturday afternoon to see how much it would be to get an oil change and smog test, and they were all sitting around drinking beer, and made it seem like I interrupted their party — guess I did, but I sort of figured they’d want the business.
I digress…
The main reason I won’t go back is because they lost the key to my car, but won’t admit it. Do I think they stole it? Nah, probably not. Just walk into the place and observe (the operation is a hot mess) — not hard to see how they could lose a key. The problem is, it’s one of those expensive keys, that cost around $ 300 to replace. They keep saying they put it in the car, but then again, I don’t even know if they understand the conversation that was taking place.
Long story short, I took my car for a quick oil change, and now I’m down $ 300 to a lost key. Therefore, I recommend you find somewhere else to take your car, as I will in the future.

I like DHT, they are friendly, honest and work with me to tackle projects in a timely manner. I started having them paint my race cars, graduated to my street cars and now do service as needed. I would highly recommend them. You get straight talk and great service. Prices are more than fair for level of service they provide.

I drove to town from LA for a business conference. On the way, I had some issues arise with my car. Luckily this shop was nearby my hotel. Justin was great about taking care of everything so that I could concentrate on work– he even gave me a ride to the conference center.

Horrible place to go! RIP OFF WARNING!!! $ 75.00 to take a look at the car (that is $ 75.00/minute or $ 4,500.00/hour). This is not the same place it used to be for years. They must have changed the ownership or something like that. None of the old people are there. And… the place is totally empty. It took me 10 minutes of standing in the middle of the shop to even get acknowledged. Never again!

This isn’t my go to place for an oil change, but due to my laziness driving a couple more streets down I came here today. I only got an oil change after 1000 miles over due today, because MY CAR BATTERY DIED. My dad had to come to my school to help me jump start it. Having no experience what so ever with cars, I though my battery died cause I didn’t change my oil! Found out, your battery is one thing and your oil is another thing. The two things have nothing to do with each other! Anyways.
I came here for an oil change and the guy who helped me was really nice. He changed my oil in less than 20 minutes, then I heard him start my car. My battery died once again! I was like «I need a new battery huh?» He’s like yeah. I’m like okay how much he told me $ 95. I needed to go get money, so I went to get money. He told me don’t turn off my car while getting money, because if you do, you will need to find someone to jump start your car again.
I came back and he changed my battery. The battery was a little more then what he thought it would be it turned out to be $ 120 I only had $ 115. He said its okay its just $ 5. :) Thank you so much!!!
I feel so much better now that my car has a new battery and my oil is changed. SUCH GREAT SERVICE will be back.
OH, this is going to be my go to place for an oil change now it’s only $ 25!

Great work!!! Had 2 dents on quarter panel, gave me a verbal quote, came back left it for few days, picked it up and looked good as new. Paint matched good. Will come back for sure.

The place is dirty and grubby. But their prices beat everyone’s and most importantly — I trust these guys. More than you can say for a lot of mechanics.

Came in for an estimate and the price was 500 bucks cheaper than the next closest one. They use high quality PPG water borne paint and many BMW and Mercedes go there for legit budget friendly body work. Highly recommended, may be even cheaper than Maaco!

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs body work done on their car. My camry hybrid was hit from behind on the highway a few weeks ago and was referred here by a family friend.
At first glance, the damage looked minimal; I thought I only needed to replace the back bumper. The first body shop I went to took pictures and pretty much quoted me for a new bumper. I went to DHT for a second opinion and Justin, the manager, was VERY thorough in his initial inspection. He knew just by looking at how the car was hit that the frame was damaged, so he lifted everything up and yup, she was bent. Since my hybrid battery is in the trunk, he also checked to make sure that wasn’t damaged as well.
I pretty much knew then and there that these guys were honest and trustworthy mechanics, so I left my car there and let Justin work his magic. He set up a car rental for me and helped me handle all the paperwork with my insurance. One week later, my car was returned to me as good as new — washed, polished, and detailed, too! I told Justin I hoped to God I’ll never have to see him again, but I’ll forever recommend anyone who needs his services to DHT.

Wonderful experience. My car was totaled earlier this year by an uninsured illegal Mexican alien and I chose to fix my car and get a salvage title. For this, one needs to pass a brake and lamp inspection. I called EVERYWHERE and this place was by far the least expensive. I even called the smog bureau (bureau of automotive repair) which is run by the government and I thought was supposed to help, but they told me there were no inspection places near my zip and then hung up. Thanks for the help, guys.
So I drove the 20 minutes to DHT. I was greeted by a smily Asian guy who remembered me from our phone conversation. He said it would be an hour and a half so I walked down Alameda in search of food. I had just come back to the shop when they started looking at my car.
The waiting room is small, has two decent chairs and 4 unsitable chairs. There is also a water cooler and a plant. The Asian man came in, told me I passed, and started working on all the forms he has to fill out.
I dropped my keys off at 1:40 on a Thursday and left at 3.
$ 65 out the door. Unbeatable.

Dennis from Wheel Works on The Alameda referred me to this place to get my Brake and Lamp inspection for the DMV in order to re-​register my salvage title vehicle. Just to be safe, I called a lot of other places in San Jose and San Francisco and looked up some coupons online to see how much this inspection would cost. There were coupons for a $ 100 or $ 80 plus cert. and tax. Man.
It looked like the average price was $ 110.
I took my car to DHT after getting a phone quote I was uncertain I heard correctly. I restated my question. Does it really cost $ 65? It seems too good to be true…
YUP! $ 65 includes everything. Brake inspection, lamp inspection, certificates. $ 65 out the door.
It’s not TOO good to be true… They have so many people getting the inspection that even though you go on an unassuming Tuesday morning, you still face a 4 hour wait as I did. But that doesn’t really matter to me. I just walked across the street to Bay Street Café where they have awesome coffee and food as well as free wi-​fi.

Couldn’t be more true about my latest find. DHT is a shop that I’ve passed by numerous times on my way to HP Pavilion. My previous guy who worked on my car moved and I was not able to locate him, so DHT came on as an afterthought.
Their quotes beat other shops that I had quoted. In the quote, Kevin explained everything to me — the type of parts used, the repair process, and some suggestions that will save me money. Now that’s a refreshing change. Mechanics usually play the «pry money away from the wallet» game, but this one didn’t, which added to the trust factor.
My car was not done on time — it was done ahead of time! Not only that, they took time to wash it too. They’re quick to return calls, courteous, and what may prove to be the deal maker, they’ll let me park at the shop during Sharks games, space permitting.
I found my new mechanic, and what’s odd, I trust him.
