Edward Chiang, CPA

2012 was a year of many financial changes for me so I decided to seek a CPA to do my taxes this year rather than do them myself. I called a week or so ago and made an appointment to see Ed on Friday.
Ed calls on Friday, letting me know he has an emergency and cannot make the appointment so we reschedule for 2pm the next day, which is completely fine and I appreciate the call to let me know.
I show up for my appointment at 1:55 the next day. I check in with the receptionist and take a seat. There is one other gentleman waiting in the lobby as well. The receptionist calls to let Ed know I’ve arrived for my appointment and I hear him acknowledge through his office door. A couple minutes later, the other gentleman waiting in the lobby with me is called into Ed’s office. A few minutes after that, the receptionist leaves. I continue to wait, listening to Ed’s conversation with the gentleman (whose wife joined him in the office a few minutes after him) and entertaining myself on my smartphone. I start to get frustrated that Ed has not let me know why my appointment has been pushed back, how much longer I can expect to wait or even let me know personally that he knows I’m waiting. I’m sitting in the lobby alone so I have no one to get answers from. After a half-​hour of this, I decide I’m not going to continue waiting indefinitely and walk out.
The reviews I had read on Unilocal were all 5 stars so I’m surprised. Maybe if we had actually worked together, I would have been thrilled with Ed’s service. I doubt I’ll ever find out. The impression I left with is that Ed isn’t too interested in new clients. If that’s the case, I would have appreciated him letting me know so that I didn’t block out time for a meeting that never happened.

Yes, Ed Chiang CPA is as good as it gets. Nothing more need be said. 5 stars is all they’ll allow so 5 stars is what I give Ed. He’s been my accountant for many years.

He’s the best accountant in the area. Very nice, honest, knowledgeable, and his prices are very reasonable for all the work that he does!

I stopped writing reviews on Unilocal due to time constraints but I just felt the need to take the time to write an accurate review for Edward Chiang.
The way he thinks is amazing, he explained the process to me in terms that I could understand knowing I do not have experience in this background. Everything went very smoothly from the beginning to the end.
Edward understands what is expected, what is needed, and what the results may or may not be. He responds to situations in a timely manner (in my case LESS than 48 hours. I am a procrastinator.)
He is NOT out for pure profit because he has taken the time and patience for me when others would charge up to four times the amount and possibly the same (or even mediocre) quality service. My results with Edward were unbelievable, I was not expecting much in the beginning but he gives real meaning to the word Professional.
I just opened my business earlier this year and I have already found my long term CPA. There isn’t really much to elaborate on this except that he IS a professional, he KNOWS these things like the back of his hand, and he is simply friendly. What more could you ask?

I was referred to Edward Chiang by my tax attorney, John D. Teter, and they both work phenomenally well together. They share the same philosophy which is to do things right the first time around so that the IRS don’t need to get snappy or hovering over their clients. They really care about quality work and they have high standards. Edward is always ON THE BALL and quick to register the situation. He doesn’t just solely rely on tax computer software like so many other so-​called tax services do. He checks them on his own as well to make sure everything is just right. He’s licensed and he’s been practicing this for over 20 years. He charges a fair price (some might think it steep) but I say it’s completely worth the cost because you know for sure that you can sleep well at night with your complex tax files in good safe hands. This is a high-​quality CPA who’s got the experience and the savvy to understand the situation from every angle. I also love that he stays in close touch with my tax attorney to make sure no stone goes unturned and everything’s perfect. He will keep your money in your interests and will give solid advice to keep as much of it as legally possible. He’s also up-​to-​date and well-​aware of what’s happening with the stock market and with general financial institutions… qualities I find very important in a CPA. Thank you Edward!
