Overall: This place rocks! For San Jose, it’s a value for what you get. Well, considering this is one of the most expensive areas in the U.S. of A.
Details:
This is the nicest apartment I’ve ever lived in. It’s updated without being obnoxious like that «industrial chic» style I’ve observed at other places. This place also has a TON of room and more storage than we could ever need. (Translation: Costco or «prepper» friendly. You decide). It’s quiet because people keep to themselves and work a lot. Because Silicon Valley.
There’s virtually nothing about the interior that I would change, except maybe a little less carpet in the common area. The kitchen is a dream, especially with that island and the granite countertops. The appliances are all new and work like clockwork. Our 2 bedroom has so much entertaining space, it’s perfect for having friends over.
It has normal apartment disadvantages, but overall, I love coming home to my place. The management does address problems when brought to their attention. The common areas are solid, there are nice events for the community, and they have pretty darn good food trucks on the reg. The staff up front are helpful, and I LOVE how dog friendly this place is. They have doggie bones near the front office, a pet relief area, and you can easily find a dog walker or sitter if you need one.
The pool and hot tub are really nice. If they get crowded, it’s because they’re awesome. The gym isn’t bad either if you’re just doing regular workouts.
This building is in a neighborhood that is being developed, so it’s both residential and industrial and it’s near the VTA. For me this is an advantage, but you have to be smart. Don’t leave anything in your car, especially if you park outside of the garage. It’s common sense if you’ve ever lived in a city. After living in Chicago, I learned that nicer areas in cities tend to be bigger targets for theft than sketchy ones. This is normal.
I’d rather keep my car clean and be able to hop on the light rail to go downtown whenever I feel like it. Plus, you can drive to Willow Glen proper in 2 minutes and grab dinner or drinks. Super central location. Excellent place to live. :D

I can’t even give this apartment with 1 start. They don’t deserve it. I applied their apartment online and get pre-​approved. Please be noted, I didn’t sign/​approve it yet!!! Unfortunately, I decided not to take the apartment finally by considering the location and railway, so I asked for my $ 500 deposit back. The deposit is only for holding the apartment I applied for 72 hours. But you know what, when I called them for my deposit, they told me they couldn’t refund me with any penny. I’m ok with no refunding for application fee, but for deposit fee for holding the house, no refunding is ridiculous.
The woman picked up the phone was so mad. I don’t know who the woman is, but she really deserve a B word. She never listened to me and yelled to me over the phone and told me that is just their rule. Are you robber? I really want to give her with my middle finger.
If element managements see my comments, you’d better to contact me ASAP. I will not leave too much time to you before I ask my lawyer involve in.

Main parking gate is damaged, not closing properly, management knows about this and have not fix it, there is no reason not to fix it unless there is a part they need that is not a stock one, or they don’t want to pay for the repair.

I enjoyed living here at first. Since the management changed about a year ago this place has gone down hill. The common areas are filthy, no one ever seems to be in the front office, no one ever answers the phone, the elevators are constantly broken and a couple of the office people are very rude.
I would not recommend and will be leaving once my lease is up.

Sick management. No proper response in time. Keeps delaying things. Appears to be like they dnt care once we move in.

I love living here. Nice facility, nice people and the location is perfect. Living here is relaxing and comfortable. We can always find so much things to do around downtown San Jose during weekends! :)

Great place to call home. Staff is always friendly and very helpful! The property is kept clean and they always respond to maintenance requests quickly. I appreciate the convenience of how things are set up.

My fiancé and I have looked at this place several times. Each time our love for this property has grown. The apartments are spacious and modern. Not to mention the in unit full size washer and dryer. I wish that the bedroom closet was a bit bigger but, It’s not a deal breaker. Debbie is great! If you have any questions about this place, she is a wonderful resource.

I lived here for two years and moved out this July. The review should be two pronged.
The apartments themselves are great, overpriced (but we got a deal two years back so I’m not complaining) for the locality and the facilities and maintenance deserve a four star review.
However, and this is a big one, the reason for the one star is Debbie! Make sure to have every single conversation (in office or hallway), every single email recorded and stored because she will contradict everything she says and will lie through her teeth to get money out of people. We were about to lose five grand because of Debbie when we moved out and due to certain circumstances and other helpful staff, we were saved. Even other staff there do not like her and feel she is out to bleed money at every point. Once we said we were not renewing our lease, we were treated like dirt by her. She doesn’t consider that customers might return here and is a bad name for the entire Prometheus property group. When we spoke about her at our current apartment (also a prometheus property), they spoke about Debbie and how bad she is… that is how bad she is. :O I seriously wonder why the management still keeps her around.
Also, all the security deposit would be taken from you despite having a super clean apartment. So don’t expect to get anything back at the end of the lease term. Just be thankful if they don’t charge you for more. They charge for every single thing and don’t know what normal wear and tear is. Worst move out experience ever.
I’ve stayed at other prometheus apartments and feel this is the worst one ever (especially the move out experience) despite having paid more in rent.

For all the reviewers that have put 4 and 5 stars, I see that you are currently living there. When I was living there, it was good. But as is life, everyone has to leave apartments. Its how you get treated through the end that matters. Debbie WILL make your life miserable and wish you had never met her in your life. Then you’ll change your review to two or one stars.
So go here if you are ready to have your life screwed when you move out. Not worth it for the rent we pay for the entire term…

Maybe other unit is good in this apartment. My unit is noisy to the degree I have to shout when I speak to someone or on the phone. When I checked out the apartment I was told there is a construction going on (A school) but it will be done by Sept. Well it is still going on and it starts at 6 AM in the morning. The unit is also very hot due to the lack of air circulation. (Due to the noise I can’t open the window).
I did ask for maintenance and repair but for whatever the reason my dish washer never worked properly. I was told it is NOT a home dishwasher and therefore I should lower my expectation. Oh well for a dishwasher that add stain to my dish and not remove any is hard to lower any expectation at all.

We have lived here since it has opened it has steadily declined in that time. The cleanliness is questionable as they can’t keep a maintenance guy here for long. And they just notified us that they are changing management companies… I didn’t realize that was an option. Well let’s hope the new company does a better job or we will be moving out.

I miss living here. I spent two years at the Elements and I really enjoyed it. I had wonderful neighbors, the staff was super attentive, maintenance was fast and professional. Although the leasing staff switched a bit, Debbie was there the whole time I lived there. She was always very sweet and loved my dog (she always had treats for him). I was sad to see Jovice leave and Terry in maintenance. I think they are still with the company but at other buildings in the Bay Area.
I had NO incidents or issues the entire time I lived there. If something came up, the staff resolve it quickly. You can request they deliver packages to your home when you’re not home. Great when you’re working late. I also like the ²⁴⁄₇ security officers. It’s sad to hear there were break-​ins. It’s not in the greatest part of town but it was super close to my office and 280.
I took living there for granted. I have always lived in great buildings and this was one of the best. Great amenities, wonderful fixtures and lighting, lots of closet and kitchen space. If I could do it all over again, I would have never left.

We moved to The Elements last spring. Our experience here has been nothing but fantastic! The apartments are very elegant and quite stylish. The other tenants are all very nice and everyone loves dogs. I would say the one thing that has made our experience here top notch is Debbie. She has always been so helpful with our stay. Not only does she make our stay here very welcoming but she also gives great advice on the community and places we may enjoy going. She’s helpful, funny and always there if you need anything. If you are looking for a great apartment experience you will find it here at The Elements.

My husband and I moved to Elements last fall. I shopped alone and viewed the available units with Debbie. She seems to be the constant in our amazing experiences here!
Having lived here for the last ((almost)) year, we have seen numerous events held, mixers planned, deliveries made, maintenance issues addressed and regular emails from the team letting us know about the latest and greatest going on. Prometheus ((the property management company)) knows what they’re doing. They hire well, train well and expect the best. In the end, it’s all a tenant can hope for!
I have always felt safe, the maintenance team has always responded to our requests as fast as we can put them in and the office team, specifically Debbie, is always prepared no matter what we throw their way. The neighbors have always been very friendly and respectful.
I would highly recommend checking out this complex and making it your next home.

1. Your car WILL get broken into and nobody will see or do anything about it.
2. Your bikes WILL be stolen
3. The property management will NOT care about any of your problems
4. The pool area in summer looks like a Vegas pool party, you’re lucky if you get a chair.
5. Expect a few hundred dollars rent increase every year, month-​to-​month rates are between $ 5,000 — 7,000 for 2b/​2b.
6. Guest parking does not exist, even loading zone is ALWAYS busy.
7. Beautiful gym is available 24 hr ;)
Welcome Home to Elements Apartments!

As resident here for the last 2 ½ years, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would be continuing it if not for my recent condo purchase. Great amenities and the other residents are respectful and friendly.
I’ve also found all the staff to be very helpful and responsive, and in particular Debbie in the leasing office. In my opinion, she’s the best… She’s gone above and beyond in a few situations over my 2+ year stay to help out and accommodate me. Kudos to you Debbie and the extraordinary patience you display everyday!!!

I moved into the Elements almost 2 years ago.
The apartments are well appointed. The pool, weight room and grounds are kept clean and beautiful. When you tour the facility, you notice how upscale the building is and that it also seems to have good security measures for being very close to downtown SJ.
The people who live there are nice as could be.
Unfortunately, there were many issues with security and management that lowers the score from great to not so good, among them:
Like the other reviews will tell you, bicycles and other personal items are stolen often. This January, my scooter disappeared from the gated, monitored garage… When I reported my scooter missing, Cindy, the manager, waited 3 weeks to tell me that the security cameras were not on, were never on, and would not be any help. No security cameras (I was told were on and monitored on my initial tour), meant my insurance would not cover the loss. No apology, no acknowledgement, no reparation. That it happened was crappy, the way it handled? Super-​crappy.
I’ll leave a lot of the little things out. But here’s how my end of stay went:
I received notice that my lease was up about a month before my move. I also received a note that management would love for me to stay, and my month to month lease price would be $ 6820/​month for my 1 bedroom apartment.
$ 6820?.. That’s insulting.
On moving out, my walk-​through was rescheduled 3 times while I waited for someone to show up. On the list of fees was $ 220 for touch-​up paint. I can understand apartment ($ 170)and rug cleaning ($ 70), but $ 220 for very clean walls that could be restored with a small amount of paint and putty (screw holes) I was not happy. After several messages, Debbie let me know it would be reduced. Still, that’s pretty much the security deposit.
On the bright side:
Debbie, the assistant manager, is the heart and soul of the place. She will tell you like it is, and at least apologize when things go wrong, rather than leaving you with no response. Hopefully soon, she will have her own property to lead with her warmth and charm.
In Summary:
Bay area housing is expensive. If I have to pay the (ridiculous) rent at least provide the service and protection you tell me when I sign the lease. and if I have to pay fees and penalties when something is damaged, why don’t you? Pretending it didn’t happen isn’t the same thing.

I moved to San Jose approximately 2 months ago. I looked at just about every luxury apartment and condo in the San Jose area and Elements hands down is the top pick. Debbie in the office could not be nicer, she provided a detailed showing of the property and is nothing but welcoming, not to mention she’s always on her A game.
I absolutely love living here. The gym is fantastic, I feel extremely safe with all entrances requiring a fab to enter after hours and the other residents that I’ve met are all extremely friendly. My apartment is in perfect condition, not a single complaint about any of it from the appliances to carpet. The general grounds are really taken care of and I’m extremely neat and organized so I don’t hand out compliments like that often.
The train runs directly in front of the apartment which can get you to downtown San Jose in minutes. There are not crazy noise levels I can hear from inside which is a huge plus. All in all I have not a single negative for Elements Apartments. Definitely deserves 5 stars.

Write off your entire security deposit if you decide to rent from here.
It’s been a month and a half and several unanswered phone calls/​emails and we still haven’t seen any communication from Elements about getting any security deposit back.
Has been the worst move-​out experience of many that I’ve had. Never, ever again would I even consider moving back here.

Moved into elements nearly 3 wks ago, after seeing about 40 apt complexes in San Jose and Santa Clara. I chose this because of Debbie’s willingness to understand my needs (being new to this area) and my lifestyle. And I’m ecstatic that i listened to her!
As they say, you get what you pay for — this is truly an excellent Luxury apt Complex, which is being managed very well by Hieu/​Debbie who manage customer service in a very friendly/​family-​like manner. Walking into the leasing office after a long day of work is enough to feel relaxed. It does feel like I’ve come HOME!!.
The complex feels like a resort, and most other renters are all the Professional crowd. Its always a pleasure to meet these neighbors everywhere in the property, the hot tub in the evenings being the common popular venue!
In all, I’m glad I moved in here…
