I have been with Dr. Le for 4 years and its always a pleasure. He connects personally with his patients so it harfly feels like an appointment. This time around Nhan the front desk agent assisted me in buying my frames. She helped me stay within my insurance budget and in turn helping me save money. Highly recommended

Got my first eye check up here! Everyone was really very friendly. Whoever greeted me today and helped me choose my glasses had a really nice smile :) definitely a recommendation.

Overall, I had a very good experience. Dr. Le is very knowledgeable and the entire office was very kind in my experience. And good selection of frames and price was on the lower side compared to other offices.

The Dr. and Staff were very accommodating when it comes to squeezing me in for an appointment the same day. However, I came there recently because my daughter broke my glasses and I did not have a replacement pair. I brought the glasses for them to see and asked how soon they can have my new glasses shipped to them. They said 5 – 7 business days, it’s been 2 weeks now and still no calls from them. I’m pretty disappointed because they saw the state of my glasses and did not make it a priority to at least try to get it out within a week. I actually had to call to find out the status of my glasses, which the girl then told me that it should come in today and yet I have not received a call from them. After having to pay over $ 300 for a pair of glasses, I would expect a follow up call.
Do not buy glasses from them it may take you a month to receive your glasses verses going elsewhere and receiving it within 2 weeks!

Great people and nice service! Would definitely come back here for my next pair of glasses.

2.5 stars — I wanted to give this place a five star. I really did, but it just did not meet my expectations.
I’m a brandwhore. Whoopie di doo. I Unilocal’d a place to get a pair of Chanel eye glasses after I misplaced my old one last summer. Eye Q has a great selection of brand name eye glasses. 1 star for that. They were also able to squeeze me in last minute, another star for being so accommodating. Dr. Minh really does give a fast check on your eyes, which is super my style. So, 3 stars.
I was traveling out of the bay — the receptionist and I timed the delivery for the glasses to come to their office so I can just pick it up on the way down to SoCal. However, it didn’t arrive on the day it was supposed to. She was unable to track it down… How do you not know where your products are at? Minus one star.
When it did finally come, it was exactly what I wanted. It felt great to be able to see the world as it is again. I’ll be generous and give them another whooping three stars! Boom, 5 blingingggg stars.
My vision hasn’t changed in the last 4 years. My eyes are super blind and the axis are OD 170 and OS 180; however, on my contact lenses prescription, whoever entered it in the system entered OD 170 and OS 010. Um, hello. How did you fuck that up so badly? You subtracted 170 degrees from my vision! I called and told them. They were telling me I was wrong. No, not really. It wouldn’t change that dramatically. Like I said, I’ve had the same vision for over four years. Eventually they were willing to send me an updated prescription so that I can refill my contact lenses supply.
Fast forward to five months later. I wanted a new pair of glasses… This time going through a different eyeglass place because really… I don’t need to spend another $ 400 on just frames. BUT THE SAME THING HAPPENED. You would think that when I originally called and had the prescription corrected for the contact lenses that they would go ahead and change it for the regular eye glasses too, but they didn’t! This time I spoke to Dr. Minh himself and he was reluctant to change it to the CORRECT vision, but did anyways. Mostly because I was angry and telling him that his incompetent employees were short of… well, competent. Either it was them who entered the prescription incorrectly or it was Dr. Minh who has chicken scratch handwriting. Anywho, minus 2.5 stars for getting me all worked up!
If I did my math right, this leaves them at 2.5 stars. The Chanel frame and lenses I bought from you probably have the wrong prescription. Thanks for making me more blind — you guys suck.

Reasonable prices and friendly staff. Dr. Minh is very thorough and knowledgeable. When it comes to my eye care — Eye Q is the only place I go!

Eye Q Optometry has a nice and spacious office. The rVietnamese receptionist was nice and pleasant. I arrived a few minutes early, and the doctor saw me right away.
The doctor I had, he was kind, soft spoken, and professional. He suggested I kept my near sighted glasses and gave me a few contact lenses to try out.
I would definitely recomend this optometrist to anyone.

I’ve been coming here for about 5 – 6 years now and I love it! The optometrists are very friendly and the front desk assistants are very helpful and patient. They allowed me to use my vision insurance to purchase contact lenses here, which I was never able to do before.

I came in very nervous (first time getting glasses EVER). Unsure if they would take my insurance. The previous place that I had went to waited until after my eye exam to tell me my insurance wasn’t covered. I ended up paying full price for my eye exam… Being a working college student that did NOT sit well. So I took my prescription and left. BUT Eye Q gladly accepted my insurance, and she went through the process of explaining to me what my insurance covers, and to my surprise they offered very good deals!
I was not able to catch the name of the young lady helping me, BUT she was very patient. She was able to walk me through the store. The selection of brand name glasses was very nice, and the ones I wanted badly were really out of my budget, but she was able to help me find a similar style in a different brand. I ended up staying for two hours trying to decide between 2 frames… In the end she helped me come to my decision. I just want to thank her so much for being so patient. Will definitely be coming back here again. SO HAPPY with this place!

Typical sales office. Staff is friendly and nice but it’s all about making a sale. Doctor spent 5 min examining me. I would expect post exam overview, cause that the whole point of the exam, but it never happened even I asked for it and the office was slow.
Good prices for frames, but they make up for it by over-​charging for lenses and various coatings.
PS this place is hard to find but parking is plentiful.

I have been getting my eye exams here a total of two times in the past three years, and unfortunately my first experience there is what got me coming back. The doctor was polite and helpful and the staff was on the friendlier side. I got a lot of suggestions on the type of frames would suit my face. This is what got me coming back, all around good service. (2010)
My recent second experience was not at all what I was expecting. I called to finally make my overdue eye check up, and to my surprise they could not find me in their records, after playing phone tag a few times I managed to set things straight. Their receptionist was not very helpful and sounded as though I was an inconvenience and did not follow up on calling me back that day. I made it to my appointment and everything checked out fine. I finally pick out my frames, this time I really didn’t get any guidance which left me feeling «whatever» about my decision. One week later I go pick my glasses and walk up to the receptionist and she completely ignores me. I tell her I came to pick up but, she had a look as though she had never heard anybody say that her. The same receptionist that I had spoken to earlier, for my appointment I may add. A younger person came in to fill the conversation and I received my glasses.
overall I left feeling annoyed by the lack of customer service provided by the reception, mainly the older asian lady. This is a perfect example on how you lose customers. Good bye Eye Q Optometry, I was really rooting for you.

The doctor was very nice, and answered all the questions I had, as well as doubled checked to make sure he didn’t miss anything.
The receptionist was also very pleasant.
Overall, a nice place to go to.

I’ve been going here for four years! My visit yesterday for a new contact lens prescription was great. I was 15 minutes late, so I called to let them know and it was no problem! The receptionist is super friendly and professional which I appreciated. Dr. Minh had me in and out within 30 mins, including ordering my contacts! Not to mention he’s friendly as well, and remembers things about your last visit like dry eyes. I’ll be sticking with this place for years to come!

How does someone who is a specialist in eyes give you the wrong glasses prescription. Not to mention the rude staff that hangs up on you when you are trying to get your problem fixed. My eyes always hurt when i wore them they seemed to do more harm then good when wearing then and when asked what they could do to fix it they told me there was nothing they could do to help me. How it it that you pay $ 500 out of pocket to get screwed over in the end?

This is a little awkward and unethical to review my eye doctor. So I’ll review the business aspect of it. Just so you know though, the Doctor is really knowledgeable and easy to communicate with. You’re not left wondering what the heck is going on.
They have a wide selection of glasses and the front office workers are really helpful. I selected a Chanel frame. I noticed they even had the new styles Chanel released, meaning this place stays up to date with all the new trends. The front office worker helped me with my purchase and tried her best to give me a discount. Although she couldn’t hook me up with a deal on the frames, she did take off the lens fee from my bill. I remember my first pair of glasses they gave me a great deal on those.
I am so glad that I have a great Optometry Office close to home without long waits to go to. I highly recommend Eye Q Optometry to anyone who needs new glasses or contacts! Don’t hesitate to make an appointment or to come and window shop to see their selection.

My job just recently switched from Kaiser insurance to VSP insurance which made no sense to me but whatever. I had to find a new eye doctor and thankfully my friend referred me to Dr. Le.
Dr. Le was very nice and answered all my questions like, «I’m I going blind?!» I have very bad vision which is consistently getting worse, so its nice to know that no, I’m not going to be blind at 30. He also did a thorough eye exam for me. It had been a LONG time since I had a check up and it was a little comforting knowing that he didn’t «judge» me on my poor «eye“gene haha. I really liked him though because he was easy going and seemed to have a good rapport with the other clients in the office.
Overall the office is very organized and modern. Connie, the lady at the front desk, had all my paper work ready and all I had to do was sign my name when I walked in which made switching optometrists a breeze. Connie also was the one that helped me with either choosing glasses or contacts. She thoroughly explained my coverage and calculated everything for me so that I will be able to max out my benefits and help me choose which would save more money. I would think a business would try to make you spend the most money possible, but not this office! It is nice to know that there are people out there that actually care.
Also, I am happy to say that I can finally see without squinting. It has been forever since I’ve gotten my eyes checked!

I’ve been to this optometrist several times and I now believe I can make a relevant review.
Most other Unilocalers give this place great reviews. And why wouldn’t they? They staff and Dr. Le, are well mannered and courteous for the most part and the atmosphere seems pleasant.
However, my review doesn’t encompass manners or atmosphere. It is about competence and your ability to diagnosis an eye problem. I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Kim, only Dr. Minh Nhat Le, OD so my review is aimed towards him.
If you need a quick eye exam or need to get fitted for new glasses, this place does the job. However, if you have any type of eye conditions or one day wake up with a case of blepharitis or something of the like, I would advise you to go elsewhere.
In my case, I was worried because my eyes felt horrible and on the numerous visits I made, I was bombarded with eye drops (I could list them all, but won’t) and even some type of medication (??). Mind you, he was not straightforward about what this particular medication was and I was reluctant to take it. The doctor started to frighten me about the condition of my eyes. I had to seek a second and third opinion, one being an Ophthalmologist and on both occasions, they quickly shook their heads at Dr. Le’s diagnosis. Under new care I was given one eye drop and was told my eyes would be fine in one week. Here I am now and my eyes are as healthy as ever.
I am glad all other Unilocalers were provided with great care but sadly I was not apart of that group.

I’ve been going almost since they’ve been open. Dr. Kim told me I was one of her very first patients and she knows me by name (I saw her at the mall and she said «Hi Chrissy»)! She doesn’t even need to look at the chart to know my name, it’s kind of cool. She even remembers that I go to UCSD. Awesomes! It makes me feel special ;)
Anyways, she opened another store and she was on leave for a little while so I haven’t seen here in a bit, but her replacement/​stand-​in doctor is also very nice. I wish I remembered his name… he’s the nice bald, Asian optometrist. He’s super nice too.
I honestly LOVE this place and I basically refuse to take my business anywhere else. Even when I’m in SD and I need to get contacts or glasses, I’ll wait till I come back to SJ to get them. You can’t beat this place. Seriously.

This place is like my eye-​glasses savior! They have great pricing on designer glasses frames that are at least $ 30-​$ 100 cheaper than other places and if you want a frame they don’t have, they will order! I’ve yet to hear of a place that does ordering since when I got my glasses I called around to over 10 places to try to find the frames I wanted.
They have great service otherwise and are very reasonably priced for eye check-​ups although I’ve never gotten one there. Overall highly recommended.
