History
Established in 2011.
Owner and lead tutor, Jessica Fine, has been tutoring for over 10 years and teaching for 5 years. Although she loved teaching in the classroom, she really enjoyed the personal attention she was able to offer her students in a private setting, outside of the classroom. As an educator, she was familiar with the very fast pace of a school curriculum, the little amount of time allowed in the classroom and the large class sizes that restricted quality education in the classroom. She felt that she was able to make a bigger impact and see more success with her private tutoring clients. So she decided to pursue tutoring in order to give students supplemental attention that would help round out the quality of their education and give them confidence in their studies and in themselves. Fine Tutoring Services is based out of San Jose and is here to help empower the students in their studies.
Meet the Business Owner
Jessica F.
Business Owner
Jessica Fine always knew that she wanted to be an educator. She volunteered as assistant coach for teams because she wanted to teach children to play soccer and about teamwork. She worked as a camp counselor because she enjoyed kids and wanted to be a good role model for them. And finally, she had been inspired by a couple of notable teachers in high school.
She began her studies in Spanish. Growing up in L.A., she was surrounded by the language and had been intrigued by it. This interest led her to study abroad in Argentina and Spain, further igniting her passion for the language. She received both her B.A. and M.A. in Spanish. She has taught at the University of Hawaii, Kapiolani Community College, Central Oregon Community College and currently teaches at the San Jose Learning Center. Her experience in tutoring began in 2004. Her recent experience in the college process gives her knowledge and expertise that she wants to share with her young clients in order to empower them.
