Tried to eat here last night with the squad. Party of 8… we were told 30 min wait. We waited almost an hour and no one approached us to explain the extra wait time even though we were sitting right in front of the hostess counter, we ended up walking out and going down to Mexico Lindo. We felt like they didnt care to have our business so we didnt give it to them.

We had a lovely meal here last night with friends. We arrived close to 6 and had a 30 minute wait– the place is clearly popular. It is modest on approach, located in a strip mall. But make no mistake, Giorgio’s takes their food seriously. This is a 55 year old family owned business. We started with cocktails and the sausage bread-it was delicious. Our entrees were all delicious– lasagna, eggplant parm and two penne dishes. The winner of the night was their flavorful Italian sausage– sublime like eating years of history and heartiness in a single bite. We didn’t save room for dessert although the pictures in the menu tented us. We’ll definitely go back for a flourless chocolate cake or tiramisu!

Found this place on Unilocal, read a few reviews and thought I’d try it out. I really enjoyed my dinner, sour, wine and dinner. The only downside was the service! Our server was nice but EXTREMELY slow. I’ll try take out or pizza next time:)

Made reservations the day before for my wife’s birthday dinner party for 10 people. I opted for the Italian Family Banquet(feeds twelve), which is comprised of four courses. When our guests arrived we were seated at a long table along the front window of the restaurant which is kind of semi-private, and worked out perfectly. The first course was the Antipasto,(choose 3-items), La Bruschetta with chopped seasoned tomato, and black olive. House Salad with Blue cheese, and Italian dressings. Sausage Bread, Italian sausage baked into slices of the bread with a seasoned red sauce spread. Then the second course, Pasta(choose 2-Items), Penne Pollo Alfredo with white sauce, and Cheese Ravioli Marinara with red sauce. Then the third course, Entrée,(choose two items), Veal Scaloppini Marsala, and Chicken Picatta. And finally desert, and coffee with a creamy Tiramisu. The food and the service was excellent. The portions were plentiful, and the timing in between each course served was excellent. No one felt rushed, or courses of food overlapped with one another. Keep in mind the restaurant was packed to capacity despite our server(Shelby), waiting on other tables. Our server always made sure all the guests were taken care, and as the evening progressed from one course to the next, people bags were set aside for us to take home any excess food so it didn’t go to waste. We began the evening at 7:00PM, and left the restaurant around 9:30PM. Everything went smoothly from beginning to the end of the evening. I’m looking forward to holding our next birthday dinner party at Giorgios Italian Food & Pizzeria with absolute confidence the food, and the service will make for an extremely enjoyable experience in dining.

Giorgio’s is a traditional Italian restaurant that has a casual and welcoming atmosphere. We’ve had Giorgio’s pizza many times in the past, and it’s very good(although somewhat heavier than some of the more ‘gourmet’ pizzas that are becoming popular). The crust is soft, yet chewy with a choice of many traditional toppings. For this visit my husband and I opted for a couple of Giorgio’s sandwiches. I had the Vegetarian and my husband had the Chicken Parmigiana, both with a side of sauteed vegetables instead of the fries(skip the fries and enjoy the great bread before your meal instead!). We were not disappointed with the sandwiches. They were made with fresh focaccia and generous fillings, warm and gooey with cheese. Service was efficient and friendly.

First time coming to San Jose. Our good friend treated to this restaurant. What a delicious treat. The meat spaghetti was rich and flavorful, the pork ribs were tender and soft. I especially love their pizza. Perfect fully cook crust. The most memorable meal.

Ordered to go they said it would be 25 – 30 minutes and took over an hour. Checked our order twice and both times the girl said it would be right up. Ridiculous!

Been coming for years and meeting friends for happy hour in the bar. Great atmosphere and the bartenders really make an effort to make sure everyone is always taken care of. The happy hour drinks and menu are great and very affordable. Don’t go without trying the sausage bread. A Giorgio’s must have!

We decided to go back to Giorgio’s Italian Food & Pizzeria for lunch. It was very busy again and we had to wait to order. This time I had the fried gnocchi which was excellent. One of my friends had the price fixe lunch and ordered some fried gnocchi to go. My other friends had the pepperoni pizza and salads. The food was very good.

So the first time I ate here it was more like a take-out pizza and it was AMAZING. The service we received at the place was fantastic even if it was a short quick interaction. But as we settle into our new home in the neighborhood me, my husband and mother decided to go have dinner there and give it try. First of all, it seemed like a Friday night it was packed! And it was Sunday night. That’s a good sign if you ask me. But the service was still quick! Even after our server Patti told us food might take a little while, it didn’t :) the young boy at the front desk was so patient with me, I tend to ask too many questions, he had a bunch of people asking him for help and he managed to keep a nice face and keep his cool, he got stuff done. Our server, Patti, is amazing! Professional and still warm, kind and funny. She really makes guests feel comfortable and happy! ;) The food was amazing! I had de Steak and it was so good! The rest of the food was praised at our table, including our 8 month old who had 2 cups of minestrone soup.

While a lot of the reviews seem to be about the long wait during sit down dining, I ordered a to-go and they had it done in 10 minutes! Their hospitality was top notch when I came in during the lunch hour, and I’ll be sure to come back soon.

My husband and I have been coming to Giorgio’s since we moved into the neighborhood in 1986. We like to sit at the bar and order some beers and order the clams. Most of the time the clams are really good. The sauce has a hint of butter, pepper and lots of garlic. We ask for bread and a spoon to eat up all of the sauce. We also order the Pizza Santa Margherita which is tomatoes, fresh basil, basil and mozzarella. The pizza is ok, but nothing great. Sometimes the pizza is soggy. I don’t like the boring salads, not much flavor. Just boring lettuce without many goodies. Also the salad often has too much dressing. If you want to have a salad order the dressing on the side. This restaurant needs a make over by Chef Ramsey. The menu needs to be revised. It should have less menu choices, that way the chef can perfect the food. Fresh herbs would add a lot to each dish. Chef Ramsey could help turn this family restaurant around.

I wish I had something funny or clever to say about this experience, but it was bad, just bad. After an hour and a half, I left without having eaten anything because my order(a vegetarian calzone hold the zucchini) was made wrong twice. 45 minutes after we ordered and every table around us who arrived long after we did had eaten, our lunch was nowhere to be found. I walked around to ask someone, anyone, where our food might be and was finally told that my calzone was made with the wrong filling and was being re-made. When it arrived at the table 15 minutes later, it was made with artichoke hearts which weren’t on the menu, which I didn’t order, and which made the crust soggy.(There is even a note on the menu about not adding additional ingredients because they make the crust soggy.) My husband was served a calzone which had been sitting waiting while my new one was prepared and baked so his calzone was also mushy. I asked to speak to the manager(and had to wait 15 minutes for her to come to the table) who took my uneaten calzone off the bill and offered me a $ 12.50 food credit for my next trip to the restaurant. I told her that after spending 90 minutes waiting, having the wrong food made twice, and leaving without having eaten, I was surprised that offering a food credit while expecting us to pay in full for the rest of our meal was her proposed solution. After thinking about it, she agreed to discount some other items also, but it seemed like she had been directed not to comp any food regardless of the circumstances. Giorgio’s problems that day were not limited to my wayward calzones. As we were leaving, the woman at the table behind us flagged down the server to complain about her pizza. I overheard her say, «Did someone just throw the olives on here at the end? Because they aren’t cooked – at all.»

Been coming here for over 40 years — what happened? Went with my husband and mom last night for dinner — 30 minute wait — we expected that. What we didn’t expect was to wait for 10 minutes for someone to take our order once we sat down. No busboy to offer water, no one to say«We’ll be with you in a minute,»(we had to flag down our waitress,) We placed our order, no apps, no salads — and it took 50 minutes for it to arrive(after the waitress told us at 20 minutes and 40 minutes that it would be «Just a minute.») We saw at least three tables around us get seated, place their order, get their food, and pay their bill in the time it took us to place our order and get our food. When we finally got our order, my husband asked what the hold up had been(this was after searching the place for our waitress or the manager to find out what the heck was going on.) The waitress explained that someone had accidentally taken my mom’s sandwich, so they had to put the order in again. The problem — they kept our orders warming that whole time. My cannelloni was fine, but my husband’s caccatori was completely dried out. If a mistake is made, come to our table and tell us. Comp us a dish.(Not the whole meal. Just the thing you messed up on.) Let us decide what we want to do. We would have cancelled the order and my mom and I would have shared so we could eat in a decent amount of time. We’re reasonable people — most people are. We understand mistakes. But don’t avoid eye contact and not explain what the hold up is. They offered us dessert. But you could tell that the manager wanted nothing to do with us. He just wanted us to go away. Love their pizza, the cannelloni was great, but the service made us not have such a great experience. The last time we were there the service was very slow as well. It makes me sad. This place was a part of my childhood.

Ohmygoodness, how did I not know about this place? My brother in law brought some food from this place for our thankgiving dinner and it was pretty good, so we decided to go there for lunch one day. Yum! Big portions and all their food was yummy. Ok so their bread and garlic+butter dip is just addicting. You can’t just have one. My mom asked for an extra basket of it to bring back home haha. I ordered the salmon pasta(pictured) and it was full of the creamy Alfredo flavor. The pasta was cooked al dente and the seasoning they cooked the salmon with paired really well with the sauce. All the tomato bits and spices all went really well together. If you get this, prepared to be stuffed! They have a kids menu(yay)! I ordered the Mac and cheese + apple juice for the little guy and he ate almost half! Hubby ordered the meatball sandwich and he was delighted(and he’s hard to please too!) Service was excellent. We will definitely be back!

Came here for lunch today and man oh man was I blown away. I have been to the milpitas location a few times and not once has the food or service been anything to remember– assuming that this place would be the same, I wasn’t expecting too much. Quick service and very very attentive server. The menu is pretty extensive so it took me a minute to figure out what I was going to order. The Mostacioli Di Bari caught my eye so I ended up ordering that. Who can pass up on fiLet mignon with mushrooms cooked in a creamy Gorgonzola Brandy sauce poured over penne pasta? The complimentary garlicky house bread came out piping hot and came in handy for sopping up my pasta sauce– YUM! I’ll definitely be back to try a few other dishes… Esp to try the sausage bread that other Unilocalers rave about.

Giorgio’s is somewhat of an institution in San Jose. People travel from all over the city to indulge in their pizzas and pastas. Usually when I’m in town we’ll eat here at least once, simply for tradition’s sake, so I figured it’s about time to write a review. This past visit I showed up with my family around 6pm on a Friday and the place was already busy. Luckily, we were seated right away at a big four-seater in the middle of the room. We were immediately given our addicting table bread and water. Our server was(as always) very friendly and had tons of patience while we all studied the huge Italian menu. Finally, I decided to go with the tried and true — make your own calzone. This time I got salami, pepperoni, black olives, tomato, and artichoke hearts. All the calzones include a side salad, which to a lot of restaurants could be considered an entrée on its own! The small cluster of kidney beans is a nice touch, too! Once we finished our salads our entrees were out shortly after. My calzone was big and stuffed with the fresh ingredients of my choice. I was particular happy with the enormous amount of black olives inside(my favorite!). The calzone was so filling I was only able to finish half of it. But cold calzone leftovers in the morning is just as wonderful as pizza! Even though we were all stuffed, we still figured it would be best to order the devilish chocolate lava cake and vanilla ice cream. The cake was moist and fluffy and the chocolatey lava inside was amazing! The pirouette straw great too! If you’re in the mood for tasty family-style Italian food in the Willow Glen area, Giorgio’s is your best bet! Get there early though as they get very busy for dinner and the huge shopping center parking lot fills up fast!
