This used to be my go-to store until they moved to the lincoln/willow store. There is no parking –probably why it’s not closed and out of business.

Edit: 2÷22÷15 This store is thankfully now gone, though I’ve still continued to receive strange messages from family of the owner. Yowza, what craziness. Edit: 12÷17÷14 After receiving a strange message from the owner of this store, as well a friend of hers, both of which I sent to Unilocal HQ, I won’t be returning. ***************** I stopped into Grace after I couldn’t recall if I had ever been there before and I was thinking it was similar to Magpie down the way, or Whatnots, but it wasn’t. To start off with everything was 25% off, which drew me in, but almost 1⁄3 of store was comprised of quilted Vera Bradley bags. Ugh. A couple quilted bags might catch my eye, but an entire wall and secondary bookcase of the stuff? Nope. It was really quite a shame since most of the rest of the store was filled with knick knacks as well as other polite but not thoughtful gifts you might give a neighbor you don’t know well. It didn’t feel like there was any soul to the space. The service was friendly but quiet which only added to the empty feeling from the back section since there didn’t seem to be enough merchandise to fill out the whole store. Maybe because of the sale? I don’t know what I would buy here I couldn’t find somewhere else, so there’s probably no reason I’ll come back.

I love this store. I came here twice already. First, to buy gifts for a bridal shower. I bought a his and her pillow case that says, «Mr. Right,» and«Mrs. Always Right.» I also bought an ocean breeze home scent, which smells really good and fresh. It comes with 8 pouches that are connected together. You can cut them in individual pieces and stash them in different places. Besides the great smell, it’s also decorative. In the pouches are bath salt looking things with different type of shells. They also carry lavender scent, which is a milder smell. You have to come check this place out. They have cute knick knacks that will truly make great, memorable gifts. I even got the bride a monogram J bag, which I used to stash the gifts in. I love the idea of reusing gift bags for practical use. The customer service is awesome, too!

Beautiful Store with great merchandise! I noticed a bad review regarding someone bartering about the price of an arrangement. It seems only bad reviewers go to Unilocal.I have found awesome and unique gifts here for several years. I think her floral arrangements are beautiful, and I have found the price is based on the arrangements, not just on the container price. I also love the selection of Vera Bradley bags! I especially like the fact that local artists are featured in the store.

I love this store! Elegant but never overpriced, I found at least a dozen holiday gifts at Grace in the Avenue this year. They wrapped my presents beautifully– with great care and topped with gorgeous holiday ribbon. I love looking around the lovely store and always find something for myself too! The staff is friendly and will help me find the perfect gift .The owner has the best eye for design on Lincoln Avenue. Love this store!

The owner’s husband, Ron is a wonderful store owner. He helped me return a very pricey item today that was originally«non returnable». Ron was extremely understanding, accommodating and courteous. I shop often at Grace and will continue to do so thanks to Ron.

I shopped here for the first time, while the store has some pretty unique things in which I’d give that a 4 star, I had a run in with a worker in which I found later to be the owner. She was not only extremely unprofessional but rude and a bit offensive. I had noticed a vase with flowers already arranged inside. I told her I wanted to change out the flowers in which she said no problem. I asked her how much would the new arrangement be and she quoted the same. I said, how could that be, this would mean that the vase you are pricing at $ 50 in which that is extremely overpriced. She said the staff prices out things however as a owner you’d think she had the authority to control this. She continued to say, while pulling the vast away from the counter next to me and putting it behind her, I don’t barter here and this is not a discount store, you could probably go to TJmax. I was not trying to barter I only wanted to be treated fairly and $ 50 for the vase alone was outrageous, the total cost with the florals was around $ 72.00. The florals she removed were 6 stems vs the 3 stems I was purchasing. Her florals were accompanied by these wood type stick bundles which were marked at $ 12.95 ea and had two of those bundles in the arrangement. That alone was s$ 26 not counting the 6 stems of red flowers that were in the arrangement. Now you figure that out… obviously the container did not cost $ 50. I ended up finding the container on line for $ 14.95. Grace is extremely overpriced but that does not bother me, what bothered me more is that she was unreasonable, had a poor attitude, offends her customers and was extremely rude. I offered her $ 15.00 less for the arrangement, which was still overpriced and with my findings on line, she still would have made a good profit on the deal. Grace has a real cockiness about her, Id’s suggest customer service courses or possibly retirement time. I will not frequent that store again.

This is a great little spot for gift and personal items. It’s right along the main strip in Willow Glen and has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere that fits the scene in Willow Glen. For Christmas, this place is just beautiful. Everything here presents a balance between attractive/artistic and utility.

I shopped here with friends a couple of days ago. The store has wonderful items. However, we were treated poorly by the owner and therefore will never come back. We were holiday shopping. My friend picked up a candle holder and the top fell off. The owner, Grace, ran over and treated us like misbehaving teenagers, speaking to us in an extremely rude manner. We put items back that we were going to purchase and left immediately. If she had handled the situation in a more customer friendly way, this would not have been a big deal. Instead, my friends and I will choosing to spend our money elsewhere in the future.

I cannot believe this place doesn’t have more reviews! Grace on the Avenue is a wonderful store located in the heart of San Jose(Willow Glen). The owner has an eye for beautiful, one of a kind pieces & the layout of the store makes you want to purchase pretty much everything! The price point for her pieces range from affordable to moderate and even some expensive, so there is definitely something for everyone. Believe it or not… I went in to purchase something my bf wanted from the store! haha The woman working(not sure if it was the owner or not) wrapped his gift beautifully & chatted with me while in the process. Go in & check the store out for yourself. It is a wonderful little spot. +wide selection of pieces for the entire house +great for big spender’s or for those on a *shopping diet* +good customer service +layout & pieces always changing –hard to find parking

I discovered Grace on the Avenue last year when I saw a cute Vera Bradley clutch that my friend was carrying. She told me where she got it and so I made the trip over. I’ve been popping into the store on a semi-regular basis ever since. The staff is always extremely friendly, greeting me when I come in and offering to help me find whatever it is I may be looking for. I was never a huge fan of Vera Bradley until I started shopping there, and I saw the variety of items that exist — they have an extensive collection of all of the items. The staff was also very helpful when one of my items broke, shortly after purchasing it. It only had normal use, for a very short period of time, but they helped me to exchange it with a replacement item. In addition to Vera Bradley, they have a beautiful collection of gifts and other home décor items. There may not be something for everyone in here, but you definitely have a great assortment of items to choose from. This shop is a perfect example of how a Willow Glen, small business/boutique should be: Friendly service, beautiful items, reasonable prices.

This store is a gem… a total one of a kind great find. I am really impressed with their stock of items… their holiday items and their baby items. There are lots of cute things that you could get someone for a wedding, house warming, baby shower, bridal shower… even some cute things that could be bridesmaid/ring bearer/flower girl gifts. They also have an extensive stock of Vera Bradley which really isn’t my thing but I know that lots of people are really into it. This place is a must visit if I am in downtown WG. And it’s just a bonus that everyone who works there is super friendly and helpful. LOVEIT!
