Went in for a consultation regarding a debt judgement from a car accident that I was sure would have a horrible outcome for our family. Mr. Henshaw worked with us and the opposing attorney to help us renegotiate and get through an terrible situation and see light at the end of the tunnel. Mr. Henshaw showed a genuine concern and care for us and our situation and is more than fair on his fees.

I needed a good contract attorney. I found that David’s company had some very positive reviews on Unilocal so I hired him for his services. I found him to be patient and reasonable as I did not understand the complexities of the law. Although the case took much longer and cost a bit more than I had anticipated which is probably true for most cases. I was overall happy with the outcome and would not hesitate to refer him to friends or family. Whenever I called or emailed, I was generally answered to within 24 hours. His staff was helpful and understanding as well. I had a good experience.

I had a really bad experience with lawyer Henshaw. I came in for a free consultation to file bankruptcy and I took the credit counseling as he suggested before we could move forward. After I finished the course, I called in as he asked me to let him know and he was busy, so I understood. I called back the next day and the receptionist transferred me to him and I left him a message and never heard him back. They have very poor customer service and care. He delayed my bankruptcy filing process. It is a waste of my time to come to his office to get his help anyway. Beside his poor customer service, his front receptionist is not friendly at all.

My wife and I walked in to see about making some sense out of our horrible mortgage situation and Mr. Henshaw saw us into his office with our heads held low. After a free consultation resulting in the best news and most sound advice we’d heard in years concerning our home, we left his office smiling. What price do you put on regaining your footing and confidence? We were able to minimize the impact to our credit ratings and part ways with an evil corporation largely unscathed.
I have told everyone I know about my experience here and will continue to do so. If you, like I, don’t trust some professions because they are full of bad people but know that some *must* be good, your first stop to have your faith restored in humanity should be the Henshaw Law Office. Such praise may come dangerously close to giving David a big head, but you have to know that his heart and brain are every bit as big. He is also remarkably down-​to-​earth, never condescending, and exudes the assurance of ability that you would think would necessitate an enormous ego, but we saw no evidence of aggrandized self-​importance. Kudos, David Henshaw, for being real.

I retained David for an employment case that ended up taking over 2 years. From the very beginning, David was personable and clear in his communications. Like every other review has already stated, David is an honest guy that actually cares for his clients. I chose to retain David 2 years ago (before he had earned this many positive reviews) based on a gut feeling that this guy isn’t like the 4 other attorneys I spoke to prior, and I’m glad my gut instinct paid off.
His staff is also highly competent and his rates are fair. I would recommend David to anyone who could use his legal services.

I just had a brief 15 minute meeting with Mr. Henshaw. He gave me some very good practical advice and didn’t charge me… so the least I can do is give him a two thumbs up. We talked about various strategies for winding up a business and he said that my case was so simple he would just forward me some links to some state of california forms for me to fill out, and he wouldn’t feel comfortable charging me. How cool is that? Again, a big 2 thumbs up.

I have to agree with others, if you are going to see David then it’s because of coming upon hard times, but I cannot say enough how easy he made the process as far as answering all my questions and more importantly the stressful part of filling out all the paperwork that goes with filing a BK. In a 2 hour appt he made all the difference for me in the financial aspect of my life. He was always quick at responding in the weeks that followed up until my court date. And also his prices and what he charged was more than reasonable considering all he did on his end in the paperwork.

Mr. Henshaw was STELLAR in providing me information on whether or not bankruptcy (vs short sale vs selling my home as is for a loss) was the right move for me to make. I found his law office on Unilocal (which has 2 hidden reviews by the way — you have to make an additional click on the page to read them). This was my first encounter/​consult with a lawyer re: this matter and so I was a bit apprehensive, however Mr. Henshaw was truly professional, thorough, and honest. Despite the fact that I ended up not requiring his services (which he recommended based on my situation and after my consultation), I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend his law office to other folks in need of his services as he definitely is a great and honest resource.
If need be (but hopefully not for my sake) in the future, I definitely would seek Mr. Henshaw’s services to assist with my legal matters.
On a side note, my stressors/​financial situation (which I attribute greatly to the advice provided by Mr Henshaw) has greatly improved as there is truly light at the end of the tunnel re: my short sale.

A competent, honest attorney that understands that his client is the most important person.
I was in a very complex financial situation due to an illness. I spoke with one of his staff who set up an appointment. The meeting exceeded my expectations as he was very frank and gave me factual and relevant guidance. His office is state of the art, using the latest in technologies to research and file necessary papers. His level of expertise was very apparent when I finally had my day in court. All paperwork had been submitted correctly and in a timely matter. Other attorney’s during that day had issues in that area.
During this process, David and staff always were available to answer questions. Many times, the staff had the answers and I didn’t even have to talk to David.
He is different than any attorney I have dealt with in the past, as was his staff. When I asked David to call… he did. When I wanted information… the staff would email it to me very quickly. His rates were fair and a bit under market… but the service was 5 Star… with a focus on providing superior service to the customer and a positive can do attitude, which is shared by the staff.
I highly recommend David Henshaw Law Office and would give it 1,000 stars plus if Unilocal would allow it!

So, so, sooooo very pleased! My husband and I had spoken with several attorneys about a complex and complicated cases, even having a 20 year bankruptcy attorney in the area tell us that she was very unfamiliar with our type of case and felt uncomfortable handling it. Not David. Our very first meeting he was already «all in» even making calls to our previous attorney in another state to gain a better understanding of our case.
Once we retained him, the service continued. He met with us both several times (even allowing our young children to come play in the office while we were meeting) and never neglected to return a phone call or email within a day.
Sarah, his paralegal, is also amazing. She definitely went above and beyond with us every single time.
We were pleased with rates, David’s attitude, his staff, and EVERYTHING about David. Never have we been so «pleasantly surprised» at what we encountered in relation to an attorney as we were with Henshaw…

Finally an honest attorney. I had a complicated legal issue involving business, and family. The case had gone on for a long time and I had gotten very discouraged.
I had spoken and interviewed many lawyers, most were more concerned about possibility of large settlement and how quickly we could setter than were concerned about details of the case.
David is extremely different. His staff is positive, he is knowledgeable, fair, and most of all extremely competent. His rates were very affordable, and he was able to take on my case and treat it as if it were the only case he was working on.
Nothing sucks more than having to hire a lawyer, and most lawyers are extremely happy to get your business only not to reply to your emails and calls afterwards. I would greatly recommend Henshaw to anyone who is going through a civil case or bankruptcy case. The only lawyer I have found that returns calls, and responds to emails. The only lawyer i have found that approaches things with utmost honesty.
