Higher Than a B

So, do you want to spend $ 2,000 a month on private school for your toddler (3 – 5) or try Higher Than a B instead. I did the latter, and have had no regrets. The pro’s of using an Tutoring Center when you are looking at a Pre-​Kinder stage.
1. You can have the best of both worlds, flexibility in sending them to either an morning or afternoon 3 hour session so they get a grounded Academic foundation with an 4:1 teacher/​student ratio. So the little ones are honed and ready to start Kinder when the time comes.
2. You can have the rest of the of the day to enjoy the little ones or perhaps work on your biz/​personal stuff or even take them out to have a filed trip.
3. I enjoy the fact that Friday’s off means that I get one whole day to spend with my little one.
I cannot vouch for other centers, but can 100% gaurantee you that this place is worth it’s weight in gold. My 4.5 year old tested on the first grade level at an private school assessment and that’s just with 8 months of going to HTAB (Higher than a Bee).
Ms. Donna and Ms. Gia (Owner) are a joy to work with. Their heart is in the right place and you will make a investment that pays back many times over. Plus they are super affordable, and so skilled with teaching students, yet flexible to accommodate your needs.
I’ve also herd rave reviews from other mom’s who used them for their After School Program. All in all this is one center that is grounded in Academics and worth a try. So check them out.

This is the best preschool i have come across. We are lucky to have it close to our home and it is affordable too.
Teachers are very good and curriculum is excellent.

I highly recommend Higher than a B if you are looking for a positive learning environment and your child to excel. Ms. Gia and her staff are amazing! They go over and beyond to help my children succeed! They assess each child according to their needs and work with them individually. Whether your child is behind or would like for them to be advanced, this is the perfect place to be!

Very great service at an affordable price! The owner, Gia, walked me through every little detail about their programs for pre-​k and after school sessions. I also had a chance to interview one of the students and they informed me how comfortable they feel here as well as how much they have improved in school due to the tutors help. Small classes mean more quality/​customized help.

My son has been going to Higher Than a B for more than a 2 year now and I am still amazed at how wonderful all the tutors are with the kids. While picking him up I noticed all of the staff had smiles on their faces and all of the kids seemed happy too Whenever I pick my son up, he always raves about how much his tutor helped him with his homework. I’ve noticed that my son is more motivated to finish his homework in a timely manner. This is because of their reward called B-​buck. Everytime they finish their homework early, they give him a Bee-​buck to trade for a little toy or candy. I strongly recommend a visit to Higher Than a B. Overall, the staff is amazing at this school! Very friendly, responsive and considerate.

5 Stars — I put my son in their pre-​K program and he has been going there for than year now. The way they handle the children is amazing. He loves the school and the teachers (Katherine and Brandon). Special thanks to Katherine as she understands the kids in every aspect from what they like. She is amazing.
Brandon is such a wonderful person with soft spoken and much caring. Gia — Though she is the owner she know each child and more responsible.
In a word all of them goes very well with children for everything which makes childrens to learn.

We just relocated to San Jose and I was wondering if my daughter would be able to adjust to new surrounding and then I find «higher than A B». I met their friendly staff and they offered my child to
attend a free session. My daughter loved it then we signed immediately as they are reasonably priced for so much they offer. My kid now has friends to learn, play and have fun together.

This review is for the Pre-​K program which has been long over due. My son has been going to High than a B for about a year now. All I can say is that the teachers there must be doing something right because he never wants to leave at the end of his session. He has learned these cute little songs that has taught him about the months and the days. I mean it gets annoy at times, but at least I know he’s learning something. He loves school so much, we went from their 3 day program to their 5 day program. Tuition is very reasonable. Thanks Ms. Dorothy and Ms. Gia! Keep up the good work.

I don’t usually write reviews but I think this place deserve to have a good one. My little cousins have been going here after school for help with their homework for the past couple of months. Since then, I’ve notice that not only their grades but there behaviors are so much better now. Believe me, they were two little 7 and 9 year old brats before. Well, they still are now. LOL, but they’re actually more polite and listen to their mom now. They look forward to going to Higher Than a B everyday after school so I usually use that against them sometimes when they’re not behaving. I would tell them «if you guys don’t listen, I’m not going to take you guys to Higher Than a B after school». (It works every time! –_​-​)
Anyhow, what actually brought me to write this review is how they’d helped me. I had to take a placement test to enroll in a few business class this spring and I needed some help to refresh my math and English skills. So one day, while I was there dropping off my little cousins, I asked Mrs. Gia, the manager there, if they tutor college students and help prep for placement tests. And they do, in fact the had some practice tests there too. So I scheduled a few hours with her the following day to prep for my test that I needed to take the day after. Boy, I was so glad I did that. I didn’t realized how bad my math and English skills have gotten. Mrs. Gia was very patience, she went over every questions that I had problems with, and explained them to me using terms and analogies that are so much easier for me to understand. (Which makes me think why textbooks use terms that are so confusing…) I ended up passing the placement test the next day and I’m now enrolled in the classes that I needed to take directly and not having to take the prereq. classes. Thanks Higher Than a B!!! You guys are awesome!

Came here and was introduced to the owner/​manager, Gia. She did a comprehensive walk through of their programs. The daytime toddler learning center, the homework club and private tutoring. Most of the tutors are high schoolers but they know their stuff and they care! Great tutoring center from preschool to 12^th grade so if your kid is a bit behind or trying to advance this is the spot.
Only con I would say, because I’m a techie would be get some more computers with learning programs. I learned a lot from the old programs like Oregon Trail and Spelling Bee Game
