Training with Ivan is challenging. I spend the first couple of weeks struggling to finish my workouts. He trains most of his clients using a mix of conditioning, mobility work, and strength work. I wasn’t ready for the intensity or the variety of the exercises.
I like having a trainer that pushes me to do my best, who helps me achieve things I wouldn’t have thought possible. Working with Ivan for about six months, putting in effort in the gym, I’ve added ten pounds of muscle and become stronger and more flexible.
Ivan studied training in school, played football at the college level, received training certifications, fights professionally in MMA, and as of this writing had a BJJ purple belt. The breadth and depth of his knowledge is impressive.
Ivan is a serious guy. He wants you to focus on training, not on talking. Work with him if you have the determination and work ethic necessary to pursue your goals. He’ll show you the way to reach them.

I’m not actually a client, but I have met with Ivan. He was very easy to talk with and seems to know his stuff. He very generously donated free training sessions to a local public school fundraiser, so he is generous and community minded as well. The location was a bit tough to find, but that will be fixed with the new large sign that Ivan showed me which will be going up soon. If you are looking for a personal trainer/​gym, I would definitely recommend you give IB Strong a look.

I’ve had the pleasure of working out with Ivan multiple times over the years. Anytime I need a professional I seek his guidance. Ivan’s attention to detail is second to none and his successful experience speaks for itself. Even after all these years I constantly learn something new every time I have the pleasure to train with him. I highly recommend Ivan for anyone at any level.

I have played football with Ivan in the past and he was a top tier player and now trainer /​owner of an awesome gym. I was out of shape compared to my football days and came back around to change that. Ivan builds custom programs for the individual. Not one size fits all. He listens to what you want to accomplish then rolls out a plan over a period of time. This gym is for those who are serious and want to use a variety of training methods to build the best foundation.
This gym has a Pumping Iron feel, old school and new school methods combined without the annoying cross fit cult thing you see in many guns today. Everyone is at different levels, some very elite but everyone is cool and helpful. Great gym and program for beginner to elite. Great job Ivan!

This is a review is for IBstrong Strength and Conditioning Procedure
There is more to coaching than having a certification.
I enrolled in IBStrong Internship program more than a year ago to become a fitness coach. Under Ivan Batinich’s supervision, I learned the basic and advance training procedures, consisting of rolling out, corrective stretch, central nervous activation warmup, strength and condition. Batinich’s training procedures was a novelty, mainly because he incorporated kettle bell and animal flow movements that focus on improving his client’s muscular flexibility, joint stability and their range of motion. Batinich’s was observant, he tailor each workout routine to match his client’s goal and current physical condition. During his client’s workout, Batinich helped his students cue his client’s movement and offer correction when needed; such immediate feedback does not come from books.
During the course of a year, Batinich’s training style have strengthened his student’s and client’s physical constitution and mental confidence.
As I graduated and have my own clients, the time I spent learning from Ivan Batinich have expedited my experience as a fitness coach. His internship has given me to knowledge and confidence to help other achieve their fitness goals.

Ivan is one of the best trainers in the Bay Area. He doesn’t go with fads that come and go; he stick to traditional and results-​driven exercises. Although he’s got a stern demeanor, he happily goes around helping everyone. He’s making everyone strong, but most importantly independent. Also a trainer, I still bounce ideas across Ivan for his input, and he always has great logic and explanations.
From an ownership standpoint, he always thinks about the customers. He acquired equipment for every specialty you can think of, and makes sure layout is adequate for his classes and clients. Price is very reasonable for what you get, and compared to other gyms.

As a United States veteran being healthy and staying active is an important duty as well as a responsibility that does not go away after you get out, but after I was diagnosed with PTSD into 2008 I felt that that duty had began to fade away. It had became an unhealthy struggle, as I was no longer doing any good to my body by working out and yet could not even consider the idea of working with another trainer. being a vet and all makes it hard to take orders from someone else especially when it comes to your body and your
was only when things got really bad in 2014 when I finally met Ivan as I wanted to uncover MMA I have heard many vets have been using that to help heal and better themselves what I got at 1825 and what Ivan gave me, is something that cannot be put value on other than that it’s priceless. Although the establishment can be intimidating I realized it was just me that I was afraid of and his level of honesty as well as his confidence in understanding my needs and differentiating my wants has led to a new life for me. I realize that I’m not meant to be a fighter I meant to be a strong healthy capable man who has been well trained and knows his place in this world and that is to be strong and ready. The training program here has taking me to that level and I know other vets like myself will agree that this is a definite place to not just challenge your body and your mind but your perspective of who you are as a person. As far as the price goes that was what made me a bit skeptical at first because I could actually afford it and I always thought it would be too expensive to work with someone like Ivan and with those types of credentials. More than my body I’m grateful for the new confidence I have gotten and I look forward to letting this become a part of my life thank you to everyone there aswell who trains with me and next to me for providing that motivation and that love that sometimes is needed when things get rough and strength is not enough.

Ibstrong is one of the best places to maximize your strength. They have kettle bells to Olympic weight lifting equipments. The trainers there are very helpful, if they see that you are struggling. They will go out of their way to help you out. With their advice and knowledge they will push you to your limits to see results. Ivan is a fantastic trainer and the founder of Ibstrong. I strongly recommend Ibstrong to be one of your go to place if you want to further your workout!

I have been training with Ivan for 8 months at this gym and it has been hands down the most comprehensive and productive program I have ever done. Ivan has pushed me and enabled me to perform at a level I was unable to obtain working out in the past. His knowledge and dedication to his clients makes him and this gym stand above the many others I have tried in the past.

What can I say… Ivan is very knowledgeable in what he does. Something that’s very hard to find nowadays. He used to teach a strength and conditioning class at AKA and both my husband and I learned a lot from him. He is not the type of trainer to just go thru the motions or he will just throw a bunch of heavy weights at you. He takes time to explain everything, the purpose behind it and properly progress you. He inspired me to do much more with my fitness. I recently went to take a boot camp at his new gym, where him and another trainer taught. Brutal, to say the least. You definitely get your moneys worth as you get a great workout.
I have an 11 year old son who wrestles and he wants to improve his game; gain strength/​speed. The goal first is to correct his muscle imbalances. I can honestly say I would not trust my son to anyone else but Ivan. He took his time assessing him and knowing exactly what his goals are and what needs to be done to get him there. He explained everything and gave my son stretching exercises to do at home to prepare himself for the demands of the workouts he will be doing. My son is looking forward to start and I am looking forward to my next boot camp. :-)

Ivan has been working with my sons, coaching them with strength and conditioning drills for almost a year now. My kids wrestle in high school and he understands the demands of the sport, tailors his workouts to push them further than their team workouts during the season, and to keep them in shape during the freestyle season. There were noticeable gains in structure and strength almost right away and major improvements in cardio and stamina as their training progresses. They come home beat up drenched in sweat, and actually look forward to going back! That is due to Ivan’s motivational attitude and winning personality.

I have been training for about 3 years now and I just have to say 1825 was a big surprise to me. They have squat racks, platforms, turf, yokes, ghd’s, sleds, monolift, dumbbells up to 200lbs!!! The owner of the gym, Ivan, helped me with my Olympic lifts by breaking it down step by step and gave me good cues to help teach my clients as well. Whether you do crossfit, powerlift, body build, or functional fitness this gym has anything and everything you could need. 1825 even has a strongman area in the back that was beating me up pretty good (atlas stones, 200lbs– 300lbs ouch!!). Ivan was helpful as well as inviting to my clients and I. Thanks for making an awsome gym for me and my clients to play in Ivan!

As a trainer who has worked out of five locations in the last three years I wanna tell you this gym is the best kept secret in San Jose! I am writing this review for any trainer out there looking to make an upgrade in their business as well as their OWN training. The owner of the gym, Ivan Batnich is one of the best trainers I know, and I’ve been around a lot. Being around guys like Ivan have helped raise my game and have helped take my own training to another level. None of this should intimidate any of you cause the atmosphere in the gym is nothing but positive. When you check the gym out you will be pleasantly surprised by all the useful equipment there is for you to apply to your clients. Squat racks, olympic platforms, sleds, prowlers, and any other useful piece of equipment you could think of! Ask for Ivan and he’ll set you up.
