Innovative Teaching

My son has been going to tutors since kindergarten. Although, he did not have any bad experiences, I do wish we would have met Miss Kris and Mr. Mark long time ago. I honestly believe it has been his best learning year of his young life. He is 11yrs. old and has dyslexia as well as sensory processing disorder. Miss Kris is beyond patient. She believes in him, she encourages him, and she does not give up if one thing does not click with him. She will not stop till she finds a way to help him feel successful. She knows when to push hard and when to back off and redirect depending on how that day is or what subject they are mastering. Miss Kris home schools my son’s education as well as keeps him learning and expanding in his goals. Mr. Mark helps my son with his math and science and I can see what a vast improvement he has made. They are kind, flexible, always available (even after hours) if I have a questions or concerns. They go out of their way to make sure my son feels excited about learning. They set up small goals and incentives to help him accomplished his goals and they will let him earn a reward. Again all this is without any pressure. With my son, sometimes he feels up to doing four things a night, yet other times it a struggle to get through one night of homework. They work with him according to his needs. However, I have seen that there is no limit to their range of tutoring, whether its one extreme or another.
Like I said this program saved my son’s selfs-​esteem, and has been one of his best school year he has ever had.
I highly recommend Miss Kris and Mr. Mark and the rest of their staff.

My son has been taking a writing class since 2^nd grade. In 3^rd grade, he was in Mrs. Fisher’s class. She set a higher standard for a group lesson — focused on student learning and communicated well with parents. She engaged and connected with students. Her curriculum is not strictly based on a schedule. If she sees her students struggled on a particular topic, she would spend more time to work on it. For parents, she published a class newsletter explained lesson plans, homework, and her weekly feedback on the class. For each student’s homework, she would provide overall strengths and improvements for writing in addition to grammar corrections. As a parent, this is great.
Earlier this year, she opened her own tutoring center, Innovative Teaching. I’m very happy with this news as my son can be in her class again. She has been helping him improving and refining his writing skills and getting ready for Middle school.
Mrs. Fisher is an outstanding teacher. I highly recommend her to help your children improving their writing.
