Choosing Janice as our wedding planner was the best decision my fiancé and I made throughout the whole wedding planning process. She was the first vendor we ever booked, and she is worth every penny and so much more.
A month after we got engaged, my fiancé and I decided to try and visit some venues. After visiting seven wedding venues in two days and driving a total of 8 hours back and forth, we decided we can’t do this alone, and needed a wedding planner. We chose Janice because of her exceptional background experience and her willingness to customize a package that fit our needs and our budget. Janice is very professional, responds to emails very quickly, which was very important to me, and she’s just fun and easy to work with.
Janice started us off with a checklist every month that listed things that we should and need to do. Janice helped us find a beautiful venue that fit our required parameters. Without Janice’s help, it would be highly unlikely that we would have found Half Moon Bay Golf Links as a venue. It was perfect in the fact that it was by the ocean, had a beautiful backdrop of the Ritz Carlton, and the menu served steak and lobster, which was a must!
Not only did Janice help us secure a venue, she also helped us find a DJ and when we decided last minute that we wanted a videographer, she tapped into her extensive network to give us some options within our price range. Janice helped us review all contracts we signed with other vendor which was super helpful because sometimes we would miss details that we would want clarified within the contract. She also negotiated rates on our behalf and saved us thousands of dollars, literally. Janice always had our best interest in mind.
Janice was always on top of things and super responsive over emails. We did almost all of our correspondences over email. We met with Janice for the first time during our menu tasting at our venue. She came prepared and full of questions for the venue and took copious notes. After the meeting she followed up with the venue coordinator to nail down the details.
Janice sent us a template of a minute-​by-​minute timeline that served as a way to organized and plan our wedding day. When she first sent it to us, it was one and a half pages. She mentioned that by the time the wedding rolled around, the document would be 10+ pages. It was hard to imagine at first, because we thought how much more details could there possibly be? Little did we know that as we planned and organized our day and all the logistics, the document ended up to be 17 pages long! It literally was a minute by minute break down of our wedding day. We shared it with our family and friends and everyone knew exactly what was going on and when. The father of the bride was so impressed with Janice’s professionalism.
Our wedding day was a great success and everything went off without a hitch, at least that is how we saw things. If anything did go awry or a miss, we didn’t know about it and that was because Janice was on top of everything! She made sure everything and everyone was where they were supposed to be and that our day was flawless. We had many friends come up to us during the reception asking for Janice’s contact info, they were all equally amazed by the wonderful work she does. Without Janice, we would not have been able to enjoy our wedding and just be present in the moment.
Even after the wedding, Janice sent a friendly email reminding us of things we should take care of, like sending in the marriage certificate and little details on the gifts and cards that people had given us on the day. Janice is truly the best of the best, and we are so fortunate to have worked with her. I would recommend her in a heartbeat!

There is ZERO chance that we would have pulled off our wedding without the amazing work of Janice. We actually used her for two separate events — a traditional wedding with family and a reception for friends. Since they were held on two separate dates, we essentially hired her for two weddings. The amount of detail and planning that she put into our special day (s) was on a level that I have never seen out of any business professional. At first, we thought we had a handle on things but once we hired Janice, we realized that we were in way over our heads. She thought of things that we would have never thought of on our own. The pressure of everything was literally taken off of our shoulders which made the months/​weeks/​days leading up to the wedding surprisingly stress-​free. You should see the minute – by-​minute outlines that she puts together for the wedding and reception. It is ridiculous in how thorough they are. They were a huge hit with our wedding party. We highly recommend Janice — seriously, hire her already.

The hubby and I didn’t truly understand the need for hiring a day-​of wedding coordinator until we were about 3 months out from the wedding and I started freaking out about all the things we still had to do. We were also reluctant to get one because the planners we’ve seen or heard of previously either weren’t good or didn’t really do much. But hiring Janice was one of THE best wedding decisions we made, if not the very best because we truly believe it would’ve been a hot mess without her!
We live in NY but wed in San Francisco and both of us worked way too much to plan a destination wedding, so she definitely didn’t have an easy task. I researched and contacted a ton of planners, but ultimately hired Janice because she was the only one that consistently responded right away, was really friendly, and had a background in corporate event planning in NY. I figured — if she responds right away, she’ll be on top of things, and if she can handle NYC corporate events, she can pretty much handle anything. Janice definitely didn’t disappoint and was AMAAAZING! Her minute by minute timeline is enough to hire her on the spot. Our vendors and wedding party were really impressed. If there were any hiccups during our wedding, I had no idea about them because she handled everything with grace and kept us both super relaxed throughout the day. Our family and friends also LOVED her and thought she was the best wedding coordinator they’ve ever seen and have been recommending her left and right. Even though we hired her for day-​of planning, it’s not really day-​of because she ended up doing super detailed planning at least 2 months out with all of our vendors.
She’s incredibly professional, amazingly organized, super friendly even in the most stressful situations and best of all, she made sure we ENJOYED OUR WEDDING! Every single couple we talked to before the big day kept telling us how stressful it would be and how we wouldn’t even have time to eat. But, she actually made sure we had time to enjoy our food and have FUN!!! Our wedding was such a blast, thanks to Janice!

Janice is simply amazing. She is everything you could want in a wedding planner: completely on top of every detail, easy to work with, artistic, organized, helpful in working within a budget. She pretty much planned and coordinated our entire wedding, but made sure it reflected our preferences. Everything went smoothly and the whole event was beautiful. Hire her!!!

Janice Kim is one of the best wedding coordinators out there. We only hired her for day of services since i pretty much had the wedding planned out already. But, if i hadn’t done all the work myself already, i would not hesitate to hire her for full on planning. My husband and i were very wary and critical about who we would hire as our coordinator because we had seen so many horrible ones in past weddings that we had attended. Janice was organized from the start with our initial meeting and we knew that she was a perfect fit for us. She kept herself readily available via email or phone whenever we needed her, even though we had only hired her for day of. She prepared the most extensive and detailed timeline so that nothing could go wrong. On the day of the wedding, everyone kept saying how smoothly the wedding was going and it was all because of Janice. She worked out any small details i had for the wedding and did everything so that my wedding party didn’t have to work! She was always around when i needed her and she always has a solution in case anything goes wrong. Janice went above and beyond to make sure that our wedding was perfect. She is an amazing wedding planner that actually cares about you. I highly, highly recommend her!

Janice was the day-​of coordinator for my friend’s wedding (where I was the wedding officiant). She was AMAZING! Really friendly and warm with the guests. I am sure she covered a million details but she was always smiling and relaxed. She is a wedding force multiplier.
The most impressive part was her ability to wrangle the extended family on each side of the wedding couple for the photos in such a friendly way! This was an immensely difficult/​thankless task and she handled it with such grace. This allowed the wedding photographers to focus on their job.
I somehow managed to get some white stain on my suit right before the photos which I am sure did not help the bride’s nervousness. but Janice already had stain remover sheets in her «wedding kit» and got the stain out in minutes.
I’m sure there were guests who assumed Janice was Sabrina’s sister. ;)

I created a Unilocal account awhile back, but never found a reason to write a review… good or bad… until now. For my wedding this past weekend, we used Janice as our day-​of coordinator. To be honest, I really didn’t think that I needed one, considering how organized and meticulous I consider myself to be, lol. But wow… she is the BEST decision I made.
I thought day-​of coordinators literally coordinate your day of plans. But she was like our month-​of coordinator. She kept track of all contracts, timelines, vendor information, etc. and she knew every single little detail down to the tee. Our wedding was 350 people and it went by smoothly without a problem (minus the one extremely drunk girl that embarrassed herself, but that was not under Janice’s control lol). The ceremony was perfect, the reception was perfect, and I really could not have asked for more.
If you needed something, she had it. She foresaw any kind of problem that could potentially come up and was prepared for it. I remember thinking at one point in the night all these crazy what-​if scenarios, but then I remembered that Janice had it all under control and it calmed me down a lot.
I think a day of coordinator is EXTREMELY necessary to help make sure the day goes by, but mainly to give the bride and groom a peace of mind. I cannot express how fantastic Janice was. She was so great that we invited her to our rehearsal dinner AND paid for two nights stay at the hotel in Napa. I can’t believe that she was planning on driving back and forth to San Jose from Napa both nights.
I give her 10 stars out of 5. Thanks Janice, for seriously EVERYTHING that you did from June to September!!! I thought I could be a wedding planner, but I could not do what you did for us. You are fabulous!

Janice is the ideal wedding coordinator! She was my favorite vendor and one of the best decisions we made for our July 1 wedding in Mill Valley. Before we hired her, my fiancé at the time didn’t really understand the concept of a day-​of coordinator, but after the first meeting and just a few emails he saw how helpful she could be and was completely on board. Despite having a new baby, Janice was very helpful over email in the months before the wedding. She also made sure the other vendors kept on top of it before and during the wedding and was ready to avert any potential little crises, which definitely helped our mental health status!
Even though she’s relatively new to weddings, Janice brings a significant amount of experience in corporate event planning to the table, and it shows. She made sure every detail with the organization and timeline of the wedding was thought out beforehand so we wouldn’t have to worry about it on the day of. My parents and a number of the guests mentioned multiple times how competent she was, on top of being very friendly and unfazed by the craziness of our small but rowdy group — some people thought she was one of our friends! Several of our friends asked for her info after the wedding, which is the best kind of recommendation. What set her apart from the other vendors (besides just being good at her job) was we felt that she was a «real» person that we could trust as a friend, and not just as someone that we were hiring. I hope we get a chance to work with her again in the future!

Janice was our wedding coordinator for our special day on August 21, 2010 in downtown San Francisco. We had our ceremony on Saturday morning at St Patrick’s Church and had our dinner reception at the Four Season’s Hotel on Market w/​200+ guests. After going through the whole wedding process, let me just say that the most important qualities of a wedding coordinator are: 1) Being on top of everything to make sure even the smallest details of the wedding day are covered and 2) Always having a smile on your face and catering to needs of the soon-​to-​be-​married couple that looks stressed out all the time. I am being 100% honest here… Janice was on top of EVERYTHING… and I guarantee you that she’ll be by your side every step of the way. You can tell that she truly enjoys working with people and it shows both with her actions and her smile. This second quality may not seem like that big of a deal to someone that is new to the wedding planning process, but trust me… working with someone that truly wants to work with you and help you at all times is one of the best things ever! Some examples of how she is on top of everything… She had an emergency sewing kit with her the day of the ceremony. Sure enough, one of the groomsmen’s buttons on his coat fell off 20 min before the ceremony. Janice was right there with her sewing kit. Janice also checked in with ALL of our vendors frequently (DJ, hotel staff, florist, the Church, Musicians, chair vendor, videographer and photographer) to make sure they were bringing the right things and would be at the right place at the right time. When you meet Janice for your first meeting, she has a long list of everything that should be covered and you definitely feel comforted that she is really on top of things and won’t let small but important details fall through the cracks. If you ask any of the 200+ guests that attended our wedding, the entire day couldn’t have gone any smoother. I also found her rate was the best out of all the other day of coordinators I spoke with. My husband and I highly recommend Janice. She is the epitome of organization. She easily orchestrated the flow of our very large (250 people) wedding with confidence. Everything flowed smoothly, and we didn’t have to spend one minute worrying the day of the event; it all went off without a hitch! To top it all off, she directs with a smile and is the definition of a professional – and she’s fun!
