LOVE THIS OFFICE!!!
I can’t put into words how amazing this office is! They are warm and inviting, and always make you feel comfortable. I have never loved the dentist (who does?) especially after jaw surgery. Dr. Sholer is always so patient and kind, he explains everything, and knows that he has a big baby on his hands! (haha) Christine has always taken her time and given me a break when I needed it. The last two weeks I’ve needed a deep cleaning and because I don’t numb easy she talked me through it and even gave me a minute when my nerves got the better of me. Sharlene is just the best too! She has helped me figure out how I can afford all of this with our one income family.
If you want a great dentist, with an amazing staff, this is the place to go!

I am a person who hates going to dentist. Esp due to my bad experience with my previous dentist. But
When I needed to go, I found sholer on Unilocal and Iam so glad.
The entire crew is so welcoming and so very helpful. so many times I have called them cuz I was in insane pain, they understand the situation so well and squeezed me in immediately to help me. They always put the patients need first and try to make my visit as pleasant as possible. Sholer is very polite and gentle .
Overall, had a great experience with them and would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for an awesome dentist .

Needed a new Dentist and am super happy to find Dr Sholer. I was able to get a appointment the first time i called at a perfect time and date. Doctor Sholer and his hygienist were informative and great. The facility was impressive and seemed to have the latest technology in xrays. They were able to rapidly do a complete scan of me teeth.

I was looking for a new dentist on Unilocal and found this dentist. I read the reviews and decided to give them a call ! The ladies that helped me on the phone were both extremely helpful and friendly ! Thank you to the staff members at Dr. Sholer’s office for being such a big help. See you guys next month !

I had a really great experience with Dr. Sholer and his staff. They were very welcoming; from my initial phone call all the way to my departure. When I first called I talked to Charlene and she was very pleasant and sympathetic to my situation. She realized how emergent my situation was and she was able to squeeze me in to their schedule for the next day. And by squeeze in, I mean they were able to see me before the office even opened. I appreciated how they put my needs first. My experience with Dr. Sholer was even better, aside from him fixing my initial problem he was able to identify an issue (to my amazement because I didn’t mention anything about it) I’ve been having due to a previous dental visit (with another dentist/​dental office) and he was able to fix that issue too! I am so thankful for their help and I’m excited to make this facility my new home for dental care. I totally recommend this place!

I can’t say enough about the friendly, sensitive, professional staff at Dr. Sholer’s office. I have a lifetime of extreme dental fear under my belt, fear that led me to (surprise!) avoid the dentist, causing me to develop some extensive issues. Dr. Sholer has been nothing but kind and encouraging, never making me feel guilty or embarrassed for the issues I have let develop over the years. I first went to see Dr. Sholer when I needed an emergency root canal, and he could not have been more understanding. His entire team was sensitive to my intense anxiety and they made me feel as comfortable as possible during the visit. The doctor explained everything he was doing, ensured that I felt no pain, and did excellent work.
The positive, reassuring experience I had has brought me back several times in the last several months to continue to work on getting my mouth healthy and problem-​free. His front desk duo, assistants and hygienists are all wonderful. I feel like I’ve taken up residence in the dental chair, but honestly I am now (sort of) looking forward to the visits. High praise from a dentophobe! The whole team is so warm and friendly, I truly enjoy seeing them each time I go in. And every visit, Dr. Sholer has continued to do excellent work while being highly sensitive to my anxiety level, always checking to make sure I am calm and pain-​free. He is an excellent dentist, with a fantastic team. I highly recommend his office.

I visited Dr. Sholer in August to have him replace an existing crown. I came based on the recommendations I read on Unilocal.Like the others I found his staff to be very courteous and professional. As for the procedure I was not impressed. Dr. Sholer gave me two injections and removed the old crown and applied a temporary one. I set my appointment up for a week later to put on the permanent crown. About two hours later as the novocaine was wearing off I felt some unusual pain, but I thought it might be related to the procedure. It wasn’t until the next day that I realized something was definitely wrong. When I called the office to schedule an appointment they were gone for the weekend with no phone number to reach the doctor or anyone else in case of an emergency (the phone just continued to ring). The following Monday morning when I called to schedule an appointment I found out Dr. Sholer was out of town. When he returned the following week I came in to see him. He listened and diagnosed the problem as hitting a muscle attachment with the injection needle. His protocol was to make me a mouth guard for nighttime use and take ibuprofen until the pain subsided. He also provided me with a muscle relaxant. Dr. Sholer assured me the pain would eventually subside and that I should expect full recovery in 4– 6 months. Needless to say it is now the end of May and I am still suffering severe repercussions. When I called to cancel my six month checkup appointment Charlene took my phone number and said Dr. Sholer might follow up. Six weeks later she called to tell me that Dr. Sholer recommended I see a TMJ doctor. As much as the dental procedure has effected me on a daily basis I am more disappointed that Dr. Sholer hasn’t showed much empathy or concern for the situation. He has consistently not called me when he was supposed to and he really has done very little to help. As his patient this is what I find more unacceptable than the pain I continue to suffer.

Dr Sholer, Danielle, and the entire staff is extremely professional and amazing customer service! My husband, myself, and our two children felt very comfortable and the ambience was so relaxing while waiting in the lobby, even my two crazy boys were calm, cool, and collected in this environment. I have worked in Customer Service before and it’s a rarity that you receive this level of customer service from any establishment. If you’re searching for a brand new dentist, go here! It’s where you want to be!

I am not one to like to go to the dentist AT ALL!!! However this office is wonderful! The dentist is patient, personable and gentle! The office is so nice and clean as one would hope it to be. The staff is kind, funny and helpful! I would recommend this Dentist and office to anyone, especially the faint at heart with dentistry.
The Dental Hygienist Andrea is the best I ever have visited! She is gentle, patient and friendly!!! I am actually keeping dental appointments.

My husband referred me to Dr. Sholer and I’m writing this now that I’ve had a filling done and can comment on his skills.
As a lot of the other reviewers have already mentioned, the front staff and hygienists are friendly and professional. I haven’t felt pushed to do any special dental work. Cleanings have so far been quick and uneventful.
This last cleaning, we did x-​rays and Dr. Sholer recommended replacement of a filling that had chipped a good bit since the last time (I’ve noticed myself from flossing). It was recommended to minimize further degradation of the filling and to prevent the neighboring tooth from getting a problem. I agreed and the appointment was scheduled about 2 weeks out.
The molar’s filling was done very quickly, and it seemed like most of the time was spent waiting for the numbing to kick in fully. Two weeks later, while my tooth is still sensitive to pressure (can’t bite anything harder than bread), the filling surface was polished right so the bite is ok, and I’m pretty happy with the work.
An intern was there that day, and before having her come in, the hygienist got my consent first for the intern to assist Dr. Sholer.

Dr Sholer and staff are very courteous, helpful and competent. I hate going to a dentist but Dr Sholer calmed me down. He explained what he was doing all the time. I will be going to him always.

I am so impressed by Dr. Sholer and his staff! Dr. Sholer told me more than any other dentist has told me about my personal dental situation. He took the time to explain everything, including what problems I may face in the future, but didn’t push anything on me. The office staff was very friendly and took the time to get every little stain off my teeth. They were also very considerate of my financial situation. I will definitely be going there again!

I have had a multitude of issues with my teeth over the years, and have had a strong aversion to Dentists due to this fact.
I recently found Dr Scholer on Unilocal and gave him a shot. The staff was outstanding, and the work involved in getting a crown was as painless as I have ever experienced,
He and his team are the best Dental outfit I have ever seen and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a family or personal dentist.

I have been coming to this office for about 3 years now… I love love love this office and Dr. Sholer is awesome along with his assistants and hygienist … Phenomenal! The front office are probably the nicest front office I have encountered in a really long time!!! In fact my three kids even love it… This is the greatest family dental office ever… I like going to the dentist again… My confidence in dentists has been restored thanks to Dr. Sholer and his fantastic team… I know this sounds too positive to be true… But I’m seriously impressed with the dentistry and professionalism and I will continue my loyalty to this really great office… Thanks guys!!!

I have grown up HATING the dentist… that was until I found Dr. Jeff Sholer and his office of FANTASTIC dental hygienists!!! Honestly, I have never been happier since finding this office! From the hygienists to the admins in the front office, all the way up the ladder to Jeff himself, this place is the best!
Everyone here really cares about you and they know each of their clients, talk about a personal touch! Not to mention how great and thorough they are with teeth cleanings, x-​rays, and other procedures.
Hate hearing a drill during your cavity fill? No worries, bring your iPod and let Jeff and his skilled team take you in their BEYOND CAPABLE hands and before you know if you will be out of the chair.
I have had fillings fall out from other dentists and he has fixed them to look and feel better than ever. I even had my «permanent» retainer pop off and I was able to come in that very day to get it sealed back on! They are very through and will tell you exactly what they are doing in your mouth (if you want) to reduce your fears of what is going on in there!
He and his team work with kids too so this is a great place for the whole family!
Honestly, I cannot say enough and oddly enough, I look forward to getting my teeth cleaned now!

Nobody likes going to have dental work done. If somebody tells you they like going to have dental work done, you shouldn’t believe them, because they don’t. I am somebody who, like everybody else on this entire planet, doesn’t like going to have dental work done. I hate it in fact. It makes me go shaky and feel a bit sick.
Today I had to go and have dental work done, which as I have stated, nobody likes, especially me. I was a mess this morning. I was terrified.
But Doctor Sholer and his team are like dentistry angels. Sharlene and Danielle on reception make you feel like the most important patient they have ever had (unless they only do that with me, and I actually am the most important patient they have ever had, which I doubt). The Doctor himself is calm, thoughtful, understanding, takes his time, listens to you, and does everything he can to make you feel as calm as possible. Yes, he sometimes has to stick terrifying needles into bits of your mouth you really wish he wouldn’t, and drill bits of your teeth away while you try not to sob like a baby, but that’s not his fault. That’s just because he’s doing dental work, which nobody likes. He is, genuinely, the most caring and kind dentist I have ever known.
His assisting staff are also wonderful, from the lovely girl who put the Olympics on for me while I trembled inhaling nitrous oxide to the two who do the cleaning and polishing who take their time to be interested in every aspect of your life, even if you’re an English bloke with yellow teeth and a penchant for red wine and coffee. I’m sorry I can’t remember your names, ladies, but you know you rock.
To summarize, while I alongside everybody else in the entire world would rather do pretty much anything else than have dental work done, when you have to have it done, there is nobody better, in San Jose or anywhere in the world, than Doctor Sholer and his team. I’m going to have a lie down now.

My mouth is a train wreck, but Dr Sholer has been BEYOND STUPENDOUS so far!
I was not an existing patient, yet Dr. Sholer saw me on a moment’s notice for a loose tooth I was concerned about. Following the extraction he referred me to an endodontist and periodontist to build a «special team» for my care. Before I could see the other two doctors I had a 20-​year-​old bridge come out — on a Sunday, no less — and Dr. Sholer came in to re-​cement it.
He has been nothing less than a delight and I trust him emphatically with the restoration and future health of my mouth. I recommend Dr Sholer to anyone that is in need of a VERY competent dentist, and one that treats his patients with respect instead of judgement. Plus he is gentle in all aspects of treatment, which cannot be left unstated.
Sharlene, his office manager, is an absolute dream as well. Kind, caring, and willing to work the schedule as needed to fit you in, or call if a cancellation arises.
Hard to believe, I’m sure, but I’m actually looking forward to an upcoming cleaning if the hygienist is anything like the rest of the office staff!

I went to Dr. Sholer for about 3 years. He’s a great guy and the staff is terrific as well. I never really felt uncomfortable here or anything like that.
I never received any treatment outside of regular cleanings and having a mouth guard made — but I don’t expect any issues.
Dr. Sholer spent a good amount of time discussing my oral health with me and took the time to answer any questions I had. I’ve obviously had several dentists in my life, and I would say that the time he takes with you during and after the examination is superior to others.
