They re-opened? Hooray! After reading some of these reviews… i’m thinking that the negative reviewers have never been to Philly to know what a cheesesteak is supposed to look and taste like. As it is cooked, the meat is SUPPOSED to be chopped into BITS. Good lord. Go travel or something.

I miss Jerseys so much!!, it just closed recently because it went bankrupt. They had the best cheesesteaks around, they would still be around if they never moved from their old Campbell location. RIP Jerseys.

According to other Unilocalers, I think I got ripped-off. There was definitely more bread than topping on our sandwiches. My main complaint is just that. Did we happen to go the day before the supplies shipment came in? I did appreciate the delicious cheese though. I’ll just have to plan for an update…

You sorta have to look for this place, which is now located next to Original Joe’s and then down some stairs. Lots of food on the menu from which to choose. And they do give large portions. My dad and Fiancé had the cheesesteaks, my mom had the chicken cheesesteak and, because they only had enough chicken left for one chicken cheesesteak, I had a veggie cheesesteak. We also had an order of onion rings. Onion rings were good. My sandwich was so-so(hard to screw up grilled veggies) but I have had better. Large portion — big sandwich loaded with veggies and a lot of fries. I had to eat most of the sandwich innards with a fork before I could eat it sandwich-like. Thank God I didn’t get the chicken because it was like chicken chopped into super fine minced pure of some sort mixed with some onion and cheese and it didn’t look so great(I expected that it would be strips of chicken or chunks, not super-finely chopped). The meat for the standard cheesesteak was also finely chopped and mixed with cheese. While I am sure that many enjoy them that way, it was not what I had expected. In fact, my Fiancé said that the cheesesteak he had at Chili’s was better. I also think perhaps the cheesesteaks are a little overpriced. One star for super friendly service. One star for an abundance of TV’s. Probably a great place to hang out and watch some sports and happen to have something to eat while you are at it, but I would not make it my point to go there for the food alone.

I finally came to this new location and I was a little confused. Unlike the old place, you just have to find a seat and they will now send a waiter/waitress. The ambiance is now of a more modern sports bar. I liked the old way better because it gave more of a neighborhood bar feel. Now it looks and feels a bit commercialized. I was a little disappointed that the price of the cheesesteaks went up but they make up for it with the amount of meat that they add on the cheese steak. A lot more meat then they used to put in it. Not bad, but the price is getting a little too pricey for me now. The food is still good… and by the way, now they actually give you fries rather than chips now. Good stuff!

I went with some friends to watch a Warriors game and it was fun experience. Located beneath in a basement underneath a commercial building on First Street near Original Joe’s, the underground atmosphere feels like you’re getting away from the stresses of life, albeit a windowless interior. The walls are decorated with sports merchandise and not bad looking painted sports murals. They have smaller tvs at just about every other table. It’s hard not to get table without a tv view. The back room has three flat screen tvs that are a joy to watch a game on. Jersey’s can seat at least 40. The service is really friendly. We got to turn on our game and request the tvs that we wanted. It was a bit of a dead night, but my friend has told me that it gets pretty packed and spirited for high profile events. We met the owner’s wife who was looking over things. She was pleasant as well. They have your typical sports bar menu including cheesesteaks. I’m a huge steak fan, and if you put cheese on it with some bread I’m good go. The have different varieties of cheesesteak sandwiches, but I went with original. «Original» should always be the best representation of the what the business thinks is the most balanced dish. The cheesesteak sandwich is mediocre and forgettable. They offer condiments like Tobasco, A-1 sauce, and the usual ketcup/mustard. My main problem is with the meat. It’s not as juicy as it could be. Plus can I get a pickle? If you’re hungry you might want to order a side order of something since the portions are average. I saw other dishes and they looked average as well. The ice cream sundae looked very«flat» and uninteresting. How hard is it to make a sundae look tempting? Our visit was interrupted by a rolling earthquake. At first we thought that people were running down the stairs into the restaurant, but then we saw employees running out of the place. Good thing the entire building didn’t collapse on us. Additionally, depending on you cell phone, you’re most likely not going to be able to receive any connection. Your best bet is to go outside to make a call. ___ I’d return if I felt like getting away from everything and watching a game.

Went to this place last weekend, my cousin swore its the best cheesesteak in town. Ordered the«original» and gotta say it is huge but poorly executed. There is plenty of meat but the bun is very cheap. I picked up my cheesesteak and the bun feel apart. The menu is huge and there is a good selection of beer on draft.

I went today here for the first time since they moved from Campbell. I was actually disappointed that this place didn’t have the dive bar feel that the old one had, but at the same time, I liked that there was more seating, and I guess I liked that it didn’t feel as dingy. Table service is new to this location(you used to order at the counter and pay when you picked up your food). The guy waiting on us was friendly, and attentive without being overbearing, or annoying. The menu has tripled. Jersey’s used to offer only cheesesteaks and pizzas, but has expanded to offer more dishes(which I believe included pasta dishes and more«rounded» meals). I ordered the Jersey’s Original with coleslaw. One great improvement is that the sandwich was ready much faster than they used to be at the old location. However, the quality of the sandwich wasn’t astounding. Sure, it was big, packed with meat, onions and cheese, but that was it. The coleslaw served along side wasn’t too exciting either. If you’re a sports nut, I’m sure this is a great place to come and watch a game. They appear to have about 20 beers on tap, and if you’re OK with mediocre bar food, this place should hit the spot.

Prices for some of the items are too high, like the Cheese Pizza Sandwich which was little more than sauce and cheese cooked on a piece of bread with fries. The Cheesteaks were packed with meat and were a pretty good deal. This IS a sports bar, I went with some friends as Original Joe’s was packed and this place wasn’t. I don’t really like sports aside from hockey and I had my back to the only TV tuned to hockey. Many, many, many HDTVs all tuned to sports. Very nice atmosphere and everyone there was friendly and attentive to our needs.

I’ve been here a couple of times. Once on Sunday for football and once for the first hour or so of MNF. Good location, friendly staff, decent food, reasonable beer prices. The main thing is that the place allows sports fans to be sports fans. Why not 5 stars? It’s in the basement of the building, which gives the whole place a strange cave-like caffeteria feel.

Walking distance from work, so I decided to meet a friend for lunch here to try it out. Service was Great, Staff was Friendly and the environment was off the hook. The food was good. I give it 3 stars and 1 extra one for the company that was present. ~M~
