I had the pleasure to have Joel and his team do my wedding videography. Joel is not only professional but detailed in his work, attentive and communicates thoroughly. His portfolio and reviews represents him well.
Our wedding video turned out just as I wanted as cinematic and not your typical video that you would have expected. It flowed well and he incorporated the major elements I wanted (from the music I walked down the aisle to, our vows, speeches and performer who sang our first dance). He provided a 3 – 5 minute highlight video that I was able to share with friends and family as well. Oh did I mention he had a drone too-​That added the finishing touch! I loved how he had a team to catch moments that one person could not do alone. I do wish he was able to do my photography as well but unfortunately it was one or the other.
Now that my wedding is said and done. The one piece of advice I have for all brides and grooms (this is one advice I hope you take!) is:
Photography and videography is one thing I would not skimp out on. If you’re spending thousands on a wedding you definitely want to capture every moment to live on FOREVER and not just for those 5 – 6 hours on your wedding day. You won’t regret it!

I found Joel on Unilocal and after reading reviews, I quickly emailed Joel and got a response the same day. After emailing several times and a phone call, Joel had me all set up with a photo shoot time, location, and a great deal on a 1 hour shoot and CD that night. His response was very prompt and he was a pleasure to work with even before meeting him.
He had suggested Guadalupe Park after I requested an outdoor shoot and it was beautiful! Joel and his assistant, Alyssa, were prompt and were great with my boys, ages 3 and 4. Out of over 300 shots, it is hard to pick my favorite! My 3 year old is a little more shy, but I have great pictures of his cute smile. With Christmas right around the corner, I figured that they may be a little backed up, but I had online access to my pictures just 3 days later!

My boyfriend and I own a brick and mortar vape shop as well as a bulk eliquid website. We both believed we were not photogenic, but we really wanted some pictures of us to have on our website, on Unilocal,and on social media postings. After reading several great Unilocal reviews for Joel Moses Photography, I contacted Joel, and he replied that day to schedule a shoot.
We were dreading the shoot itself with all of our insecurities, but he and Angel immediately put us at ease. I think it was a combination of their personalities and their expertise… they just knew what they were doing and they were there to complete a mission! He delivered the photos much more quickly than promised, and there are so many that we both like. Phew! He is doing a retouch of our favorite photo, and I’ll be posting it on this review within the next week or so.

Phenomenal experience with Joel Moses photography. I could not have picked a more talented, passionate and fun photographer for a very important photo shoot. I highly recommend Joel and his assistant Angel if you’re looking for more than pictures but rather an experience of you, captured beautifully, in real time, for always.
Here is my story… I was looking to have a series of outdoor photographs taken for a new business that I am building. I had the idea of what I wanted in my head, I scoped out the location and all I needed was to find the photographer. I wanted a photographer that understood what I was doing why I was doing it then capture my ideas in photographs. I found Joel online and loved the sample photos that I saw. When I called to make an appointment it turns out that I didn’t read the fine print carefully and the deal that I purchased was for a group photo shoot not an individual photo shoot. Without hesitation, Joel said he would apply what I had paid to an individual photo shoot package and that was that; the deal was done and the appointment was set.
During that same phone call Joel asked me questions about what I was looking for and I started to tell him about the path that lead me to my new career. Having spent over 17+ years in High Tech Event Marketing I wanted to express my passion for Event Planning and Design in a more meaningful way. Talking to Joel is like catching up with an old friend who I haven’t seen in a while. He understood what I was saying between the words and I knew that I had chosen the right photographer.
Location, Location, Location! The location I originally scoped out was no longer green and vibrant due to the massive state drought and I was crushed. I called Joel and asked for recommendations for a new location. Again, without hesitation he suggested the Japanese Friendship Garden located in Kelly Park. The location was more than perfect it was the essence of what I wanted the photographs to capture: the beauty of nature soon to be sprinkled with a bit of my sassy self. Being the subject of a professional photo shoot, self-​imposed or not is a little bit nerve racking. Joel and Angel were thoroughly professional and coached me just enough to calm my nerves which allowed me to relax and have fun throughout the entire shoot. I am beyond happy with the end result and I believe the photographs speak for themselves. With gratitude to Joel Moses Photography for capturing me, in real time, for always. Five Stars.

I found Joel by checking out his Unilocal reviews, which are very good. He found a beautiful location for us in Menlo Park, he showed up on time even though traffic I’m sure was tricky coming from San Jose, he worked well with our dog and teenagers. Through the entire shoot he was patient and fun and most importantly we got some really great photos. His assistant Angel was so helpful and she was able to get some additional shots from different perspectives. Also, I liked being able to download all of our pictures to our computer… super easy. And lastly, his prices were very reasonable. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend using him.

I just want to share our experience with Joel and his team. They are very professional as well as friendly. They know how to lighten up the mood for the best pictures possible.
He has all the tools of the trade to make sure you get the best quality in your photo shoot. I am very happy with our family pictures

We are based in the Philippines and we barely had 2 weeks to prepare for our wedding in san jose. My father-​in-​law contacted joel in the hopes of getting a good photographer. Joel was very accomodating-​quick to respond to our querries, and was even able to squeeze in a last minute meet up. He and his partner showed up early at the church and took the most beautiful photos on our special day. I highly recommend them as they are not only professional and easy to get along with, but also very good with what they do.

So glad I hired Joel! For years my husband has wanted an aerial picture of our house and it was too expensive. Now with drone technology it is affordable and easy, so I decided to get pictures done as an anniversary gift. Joel is a talented photographer and drone pilot. He was available within a couple of days, arrived on time, took the pictures efficiently (it was a cool process) and had a portfolio available for review within a few days. There were lots of amazing shots from different angles and altitudes from which to choose. My lawn had brown patches due to the drought and for a reasonable price Joel was able to do photo retouching. The end result look natural and so much better. The pictures are awesome! Joel offered several purchasing options, all of which were affordable. It was a really fun process and my husband loved the gift.

Wow. Joel is truly an amazing photographer with a brilliant personality — he keeps the shoot comfortable for everyone, yet professional. We had a family photo session and it started off a bit awkward because most of us didn’t know how to stand/​pose or where to place our hands and the like; however, with Joel’s quick tips we were kept laughing and smiling throughout the whole session. He was also very open to our suggestions and made sure they were included in the shoot. For example — although the sun was shining past the roses, he acknowledged my mom’s love for roses and included a number of individual shots that really turned out stunning! Joel makes sure to include candid and fun shots as well as well-​posed shots, in addition to various pairings and group shots (ie: mom and dad, brother and sister, sister and mom, brother and dad, etc…).
I will definitely be working with Joel again in the future, whether it be for another family shoot or a special event.

Joel and his assistant, Angel are phenomenal! I Stellar personalities, super personable and easy to work with. On behalf of K to College, a nonprofit that provides basic materials to homeless students we would like to say THANK YOU! They photographed our Silicon Valley Reception at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Not only were they professional, they were fun to have around! Our group photos came out fantastic!

So this review is long overdue! My Wife Eva & I would like to highly recommend Joel Moses Photography!!! Here are just a few reasons why!!!
After an extensive search for a Wedding photographer we were Blessed to finally find one that not only met our expectations but exceeded them!!!
Joel & and his assistant Angel did both our Engagement and Wedding shoot. Let’s start with the engagement shoot. Joel & Angel took the time to help us select the proper venue which happened to be near & dear to our hearts & a place we spend a lot of time at; The San Jose Municipal Rose Garden. Joel & Angel made sure to keep the atmosphere fun & lively and it really showed in our pictures. We were very happy with the quantity but more importantly the quality of the various shots that were taken. He was able to capture the beauty of the surroundings and also incorporate some fun themes on the fly (Like having an ice cream cart in the background when one just happened to come by…) and using different props in various shots.
Now, I am one of those people who is not of fan of taking pictures but Joel & Angel really worked their magic to make me feel comfortable. My Wife’s Beauty was only enhanced by their skills and techniques though. They really brought out the best in both of us!!!
Now on to the Wedding day shoot. Where do I start? Joel & Angel provided a vast quantity of pictures to choose from that included My Beautiful Wife & Her Beautiful Bridesmaids!!! Their creativeness and artistry really showed in many of the shots that were taken, a most unexpected but welcome surprise.
The variety of pictures to choose from was infinite, from the shots taken at the Hayes Mansion, My Groomsmen and I at the Church getting ready, to the Wedding Mass celebration to the reception and the night’s festivities. It was all chronicled & frozen in time and now we have those special moments captured for us to relive!!!
Thru it all I would have to say that Joel & Angel really took the time to «listen» to what our desires were and then used their skills to transform those desires into a Beautiful realization!!! They really go that extra mile to make their photo shoots lively and fun and are able to manage the different personalities that come into play when taking photos of a large scale family of which we most definitely have!!! I was amazed at how many people were included in the vast amount of photos that were taken (We had 200+ guests). Their helpful suggestions and professionalism really shows up in their finished product.
So if you are seeking that photography superstar team that will capture & enhance your special day then My Wife Eva & I would most definitely highly recommend Joel Moses Photography!!!

Awesome pictures. Great Experience. Lot’s of fun.
We had a photo shoot with Joel last Sunday and here I am writing this review on Wednesday already attaching photos (Isn’t this a quick turn around time… just in time for the holiday pictures to go out). I’m writing because I was really impressed with the pictures (almost 400 pictures), the service (always with a smile and enthusiasm) and quick turn around (3 days to have the photos on my computer is a record time).
We spent 1 hour this Sunday with Joel and Angel to take some photos of our family (and dog :-)). Joel and Angel are great. They came on time (!!!) and were ready with a big smile to accommodate our family of 5 (and did I mention the dog???). Some of the additional great photos were from an angel we didn’t expect. Joel and Angel were very accommodating to try new angels, crazy shoots and basically have fun. We had lots of fun during this one hour family photo session.
We didn’t have to wait too long for the results :-). After reviewing the pictures (already on Monday morning), there were so many good ones it was very difficult to choose, we decided to buy the full CD with High Res pictures (!!!). The price was totally reasonable (especially when you think of the number of great pictures we’re going to print ourselves). Once we purchased the CD, Joel also allowed us to download all the photos from his site, which made the turnaround even quicker. What a fantastic service!!!
To top everything off, the deal included a couple of 8×10s retouched photos which we’re going to hang on our wall.
All together a great experience. Highly recommended.

I found Joel on Unilocal and after talking with him decided he was the PERFECT person to shoot our Oscar Hollywood theme party. He was more excited about our party than us I think! He suggested that we include a 2^nd photographer (Angel) since our party was so large and we were so happy he did. We ended up with more than 1000 fantastic pictures of the decorated venue, our fabulously dressed guests and our event.
Since our theme was hollywood, we had a step-​and-​repeat (like at a red carpet event where celebrities pose in front of) on the way in for our guests to feel like they were on the red carpet. Joel and Angel really were more than just a photographer — they because part of the experience for our guests. They really got into helping our guests feel special on the red carpet! After most of our guests entered, Joel and Angel ran tirelessly around our party taking shot after shot.
And to top it off, I got the pictures back in 3 — yes THREE — days! We couldn’t be more pleased! Thanks Joel!

We hired Joel for senior portrait photographs and for graduation announcements. He did such a great job working with my daughter and making her feel comfortable in front of the camera.
He met us in late afternoon at the Rosicrucian Museum. The timing was perfect to capture fading light and we got awesome photographs. My daughter loves to read and brought along some books. Joel got the theme she was trying for and made her feel smart and beautiful. That feeling showed in the final results.
We were lucky to have his assistant Angel along and got so many extra pictures from different angles. They worked with us so well and put up with several clothing changes. Because of the style of dress he suggested we move on to the Rose Garden. There we got our favorite pictures of the session.
My daughter was so worried the pictures wouldn’t work but I’m happy to say they came out beautifully. Thanks Joel for an easy day and great photos. We loved working with you guys.

Joel is an excellent choice for any photography work. I had called Joel last minute for my wife’s baby shower and he was able to accommodate ! Transaction and confirmation was simple and easy, and he arrived right on time. His experience with lighting, candid shots, and group/​pose photos really shows in his work. A couple days later, he emailed us a link so we can preview some of the photos he took. Now that is what sets him apart from other photographers. It’s an excellent customer service indeed! We are so happy with Joel’s work and are going to hire him for our future memories.

We hired Joel to take our family photos. This is something we do every year. Our family has grown so much that it is very difficult to get in to a studio. He was very patient during our shoot and was very entertaining. Keeping every one smiling and having fun — his energy level is out the roof! There were 19 of us that day with 8 kids. He did an amazing job capturing the character of our family and the kids all had fun during our shoot — which made for even better pictures. I got my photos one week after and they were AMAZING!
Working with him was very easy. He is very personable and very professional! Joel was prompt about any communications we had and was very flexible when it came to scheduling. This was huge because coordinating a time that worked for all of us was not easy. He’s photo package are very reasonable. All around this was a great experience and we came out with beautiful photos!

5 star review for Joel Moses photography! We were extremely happy with the service that he delivered. He was quick to communicate by phone to set up our shoot, and even switched his schedule around to accommodate ours! Joel and his assistant, Angel, spent over an hour (closer to two!) photographing my family of eight, including two little ones. He was very particular about getting just the right lighting, which I thought was a bit silly, until we saw the results — and WOW was he right! Between that beautiful evening light and his immensely talented camera work, we got some incredible photos.
