my teen was referred to dr. john greene to be evaluated for depression. after filling out a lengthy «thorough» health history, family history review ~ my daughter was seen by dr. greene alone for 45 minutes. i was brought into the room after this time and told my teen is depressed. dr. greene further told me~ he had given my teen 4 medications~ to check on line, and «pick the ONE she wanted to take.» of course, she never did get on line to check these medications. i called our neighborhood pharmacist to ask her which one my teen should «pick» ~ i was told by the pharmacist, she could not advise me. my RED flag was waving at this point.
I quickly found a veteran psychiatrist ~ who after a lengthy visit with my teen ~ thoroughly diagnosed her: bipolar, depression with anxiety~ she is taking 3 medications. i was further told that a complete/​comprehensive diagnosis is essential~ especially with mood disorders. i was told, if my teen was medicated for the depression~ and not the manic phase of the bipolar ~ those individuals can commit suicide~ so you can see my concern as to dr. greene letting the patient (my teenager) «pick» a medication for depression~ also his «seemingly» comprehensive one on one evaluation ~was far and away off ~ dr. greene~ completely misdiagnosed my teen
