I bought vegetables from here and within a couple of hours I knew that I would not visit this store ever in my life. Despite higher prices, goods are of low quality… some of them even unconsumable. That explains why the store was deserted on a Sunday afternoon

I’m surprised with all the negative reviews. I’ve been coming here for a few years for their ready made food and samosas. Their samosas are some of the best I had. Fresh and tasty. At 89 cents, I didn’t think they were overpriced. I’ve never tried their produce. I usually just pick up some ready made food. Dishes I tried: curry goat, butter chicken, gobi aloo, dal, spinach with cheese(forget the name), and chicken curry. All were delicious and fresh. veggie curries are $ 6.99, meat curries $ 7.99, again didn’t think that was overpriced. I’ve never met the«rude» owners or the arrogant grump lady. But I had never asked for help. Like most asian stores I’ve been, there’s no chit chat, no one asks me about my day; i put my stuff on the counter, the cashier tallied them up, I pay, I leave. I’ve never been over charged either.

After reading so many crappy reviews about the owners I wasn’t sure if their stuff was good enough. But after my friend insisted me to try. We went there and grabbed a box of dhokla and couple samosas. The problem with the dhokla was that there was no date on top of it. Therefore, I asked the person who was in the kitchen and she informed it was made the same day. Still wasn’t sure and reluctantly took these things and came back home. I was surprised their dhokla was actually fresh and tasted good and samosas were too good. Honestly now I don’t even care about the lady standing at the counter. I pick my stuff and get out of there. Hehe

The samosas makers are great however the lady at the front is horrible. I cringe every time I pass by.

’ I don’t care’ attitude by the owners since it’s the only grocery store in west San Jose/Saratoga. Expired foods are routinely available Almost 30% more expensive

The products are overpriced as mentioned by others in their reviews as well. But they carry Lakshmi Brand products — which are very highly rated for their quality. You won’t find many Indian stores carrying that brand. They carry plenty of prepared snack items as well and the boondi laddoos are the best in Bay Area.

We had mild food poisoning after eating their samosas and chaat. Found fungus on parathas 1 day after I bought them. Also noticed some extra«Non-Inventory» items in my bill last time which are unaccounted for. The owner of this store is very indifferent to your concerns.

Best Samosas in the Cupertino region. Good dhoklas too. Vast variety of mithai and namkeeen. Also, only Indian store which has Lays magic masala.

4 stars for the awesome samosas… the best so far I have tasted in san jose!!! You would find most of indian groceries — need to add more categories though. Very helpful and courteous staffs, I love to stop by anytime as its very close to my place.

Try avoiding the store. Ready to heat products suck and don’t even start about the behavior of the staff. Help yourselves with alternate Indian stores. OK. If you are a die hard fan of samosas and other desi fried snacks-then this is the store for you. Parking ain’t an issue.

FUNGUS!!! In ready made«Fresh food» Wish I could put Negative stars!!! Disgusting… I found fungus in the ready made non-veg kabobs. And to think kids also might be eating it and getting sick! Horrifying! And to top it all the lady at the register lied and said it was made fresh in the morning! I confronted her after showing her the fungus and then she said probably this pack is an older one! The lady in charge conveniently blames those in the kitchen. Well it’s her kitchen and she’s in charge isn’t she? Other customers thanked me for making it an issue and forcing them to remove their stale food and even told me they have heard the same horror stories about their food. I left the store and called her back and she lied again saying she’s in the kitchen checking in it and I could still see her at the register. She couldn’t be bothered who bought it or who ate it. Such a shame!!! NOONE! should purchase their ‘ready made’ items or snacks. Please pass on the word.

The lady at the check out is still her grumpy old self. LOL! 5 stars for the take out samosas. Once again, still… BESTSAMOSASINTHEBAYAREA! I still throw my bag of samosas on the counter without looking at grumpy pants. They are just that stinkin’ delicious!

Two review’s here. First the paratha’s have hair inside of them, yes. My daughter was eating, found hair was disgusting, further looking found another hair poking out! All in the same paratha! So will make myself, actually mine are the bomb! But need time to make them. Reason, why this is a 3 star beside the hair, they do a pretty good job in providing a variety and convenience.

Surprise, surprise! What have you guys done? The takeout Indian dishes are awesome. The samosas are very good, as another reviewer indicated(wish they would do something about the price — $ 0.90). But more than that, we loved the traditional north-Indian takeout options on offer. The saag paneer(spinach+mustard greens with cheese) tasted home-made, was fresh, and really tasty with some naan or rotis. Couldn’t ask for more. The recent order of stuffed okra was delicious as well, the sauce nicely cooked with tomatoes and onions. We would have preferred a little more spice, but understand as this is meant for all customers. The non-veg options are next! Please try the take-out options and support the neighborhood store! There is a whole glass case full of options to your left, as you enter the store.

I am going here just because it is close by. worst service. today they looted money, two items were billed for nothing while i was keeping things in bag, the guy who was at the counter doesnt help at all(ok may be not his job to keep things in bag like other stores, but missing basic courtesy). i m not going back because i dont have time sigh! :/ I never saw other lady being friendly either. it is as if we are doing harm to them by buying groceries there. even before i left the counter(while helping myself keep my groceries in the bag) he started pushing other customer’s items on my side!

Very expensive and bad quality sweets. I bought Gazar ka halwa and it was too sweet. price was also high. We added three cups of milk but still you can not eat. ridiculous I mean how can you sell you should taste first before selling. I am sure a good and intelligent business will never sell these kind of garbage products. instead of losing customers forever due to one bad product better thrash it. I offered it to my friend who visited our home next day, thought he will like as he prefer extra sweetness but for him also it was too sweet. when I told him that it was from Lakshmi bazar he advised to never buy sweets from there as he knows many people with bad experience with this store. most of the sweets not very fresh and too sweet to eat. I also called them and gave feedback. I gave one extra star because aalo and gobi Samosa was good and fresh.

Good place to go for last minute need of shak/bhaji(produce). It doesn’t have a super large selection, the cashiers aren’t super talkative — but it’s a nice indian store to have nearby that gets the job done.

This used to be the only Indian grocer in the area and I was forced to go here. Now that cash and carry has opened on de Anza… I hardly go here. The service is bad, the produce seems old, the prices are high and the cooked food extremely oily! Just go the extra mile or two to Cash and Carry.
