CLOSED– Best crispy beef tacos ever!!! I heard they were closing and it happened. Such a bummer! I hear they have another location, but not sure where.

This place used to be very good but seriously, what in the world happened? When I call to order for pick up, I’m not even greeted properly. The girl picks up the phone and just says«hello?». I wasn’t even sure if I called the restaurant. Like other mentioned — «no refunds, check your order». I’m ordering for 3 – 4 people and I get back to the office and noticed someone’s order is wrong. How can they be so unprofessional? I just don’t understand how someone can be that BAD. It’s not really even about the food anymore… Your employees cannot even take pride in their work.

First impression— not that great. It’s kinda dingy and low energy. Turn on the TV? Some music? And why can’t I have a cup of water? She told me she’d bring it to me, but ten minutes have passed and no water. I’m thirsty. There’s an inexplicable large mural of a snow covered alpine mountain and lake across the back wall. Ahhh… Mexico! The salsa bar is super skimpy, too. That’s ok… No free chips for the wait anyway. Let’s see how the food is. Let’s see. Let’s see. Let’s see. Wow… That took a long time. The good news… The carnitas plate was pretty good. Modest portions. Good texture and flavor. Probably great in a burrito.

Very basic place but great Veggie burrito! They even have Mexicokes! We stopped in on a whim and we are glad we did! Do not be fooled by the look of the place. I am taking a star away for the no décor vibe. Napkins were flimsy. The service was fast, nice, and even greatly accommodated a handi-capable person with a smile. Try it!

After coming here for a couple years I noticed things have changed with the service is not as good the porch and have been cut down and my order has been wrong quite a few times unfortunately I will not be returning the main reason I will not be returning is because when my order is wrong they have a sign that says please check your order no refunds which means that this is a frequent problem there are many places to pick up Mexican food nearby

WHATHAPPENED??? I used to LOVE coming here, I came here for years! I took a long hiatus from this place and came back only to taste that my beloved enchilada sauce… has changed :( I don’t know why, it was so good before! Its too salty and missing something. I can’t figure it out. I’ll go back if they change the sauce back lol

One star due to poor customer service and poor food preparation. Ordered 2 steak burritos to go about 45 minutes before closing time on a Friday night. We live a few blocks away. When I pulled up they were already taking the furniture in from the outdoor patio. I should’ve known that this was a sign they were in a hurry to get out of there. Anyhow, when I arrived home and took the burritos out they were cold. It was quite obvious this was a rush job and they were ready to get on with their Friday evening. I immediately called to complain about the cold food and they we apathetic. Not even an «I’m sorry about that.» This place has really gone downhill.

I’m 41 and this place is at the corner of the street my grandmother lived on. Needless to say many weekends were spent walking to the«taco bar» as we used to call it. I loved the food back then and even though I haven’t lived in California in almost ten years I know the food would still be great. I’m glad this place is still here and it is always a first stop on visits back home.

I’ve been going to palmas for the veggie burrito for years. Overall I’d have to say it’s one of the best vegetarian burritos I’ve ever had. I’ve also had the chile relleno burrito which is pretty damn tasty. The salsa bar is a big plus. And the service is always good. I like to sit outside on the patio and watch people on the alameda. One thing I’d dock them on is that they charge extra for chips and salsa even if you’re eating there. I’d take half a star off for that. But I’ll round up to 5 stars cause those burritos hit the spot.

Meets expectations for a $ 6 burrito. Soild 4 star establishment. Meat was a little tough and you have to pay extra for chips.

Food is nasty, Super slow service. –Place was empty –Soda machine was out only coke was working but tasted mostely carbonation no syrup. –I order cheese enchilada plate, Resquested red sauce since it’s made with mole sauce. –My fiancé ordered a milanesa torta. –Our daughter ordered a bean, cheese and rice burrito –Food took forever to come out… seeing that the place was empty thought the service would be a little faster. –We finished our little bit of chips/salsa, Server didn’t come once to ask if we’d like more or refills –So I went up and ask for more chips and soda refills. I got the chips and the sever said she’d bring the sodas. –When we finally received our food. My enchiladas were cold, cheese wasn’t melted and the sauce was the salsa that was placed at our table for dipping chips. –My fiancé’s torta was just a piece of carne asada, wasn’t even breaded. –So I returned my plate and just asked for beans/rice to feed my son atleast. –Once he was done, we got up to pay and was going to be charged for the enchilada plate, I wasn’t going to pay for something I didn’t eat and was cold. –Then the server was happy to ask how was everything, I said besides not ever receiving our soda refills, cold plate, long wait… I’d say it was AWESOME jk. –Don’t go here.

I’ve been to Las Palmas a few times when I’m craving authentic Mexican food and I don’t want to drive too far. They have a wide variety of dishes that span beyond the typical burrito /taco that you’ll find anywhere. Overall, I really like their flavor on the high end but their prices will definitely match, especially if you go for a few extras. Their meals on the low end, conversely, are nothing to write home about. So it’s really the sort of place where you either go all in and enjoy fully or you go elsewhere when you’re watching your food budget.

This fantastic restaurant is ½ a blog from where I live. I love a good authentic burrito(from a non-chain/corporate place). The super burrito is SOGOOD and inexpensive. The quesadillas are huge and yummy too. The staff is VERYFRIENDLY and the service is fast. I highly recommend stopping in.

In town for work and was craving some good Mexican food and Las Palmas was close to my hotel. The place is pretty clean and neat and was told that the chile rellenos were a favorite but they had ran out :( I ordered the #7(half green chile and half red chile. The flavor of the red was delicious but wasn’t too fond of the green and the meat on the green chile was way too tough, from what I’m used to. Will come back for the rellenos and maybe the super burrito. Pretty good salsa bar was a plus!

Usually when I drive by a restaurant and there are two or no cars in the parking lot at 7pm — I don’t stop. It was raining so we decided to try it anyway. Well the best thing about La Paloma is the screened in outdoor eating area. It was raining last night but the patio looked great for a sunny day. I had chicken enchiladas with rice and beans and he had a beef taco and a chicken enchilada. The enchiladas were so salty I am glad they had raw onions at the hot sauce bar. I threw a bunch of onions on it to fight the salt. Silly but it kinda worked. Everyone was nice and the décor was fun… but somebody(hopefully the owner) needs to taste that stuff before sending it out.

Las Palmas is a genuine family run restaurant that serves delicious Mexican food. The service here is as friendly as it gets. Even during the busy lunch rush they will make you feel at home. The outdoor patio is a great place to enjoy lunch on warm day. The tacos here are delicious, especially the carne asada. Im not a fan of the nachos because they use chips that are a too thin and they cover them in nacho cheese sauce which just isn’t my thing. The enchiladas are great and come covered in a delicious red sauce that I love to dip my chips in too. Excellent family run lunch spot just outside of downtown San Jose.

Great burritos and tacos here. My GF got some monster chimichanga thing that was insane and so tasty! Decent but small salsa bar. Good people working there. I like the semi outdoor eating area too. Fair prices.

I’d say my df and I were pretty much regulars, when we think taco or burrito, we usually go here(or Los Pericos in Campbell — but that’s too far from home). But as of last night, I actually said to him *gasp* I think we better start looking for another taqueria. I love lots of pico de gallo on top of my usual carne asada soft taco… The last several times we’ve eaten there, there is no pico de gallo. First time i thought it was a fluke, second time I figured we were there just too late at night, third time, I asked for it from the counter, then last night, I asked the lady for some pico de gallo and she just pointed to the salsa bar. Well, there’s no pico de gallo in the salsa bar. Well, if i can’t top my carne asada soft taco with pico de gallo, then I find a taqueria that can provide. Also, my taco didn’t have as much carne asada as usual. Usually they are generous with the portion of meat, yesterday I was considering buying another one since I was still hungry. *sigh*
