I showed up late and the doctor was willing to work overtime to see me.

They have taken care of my eyes for many years. Today I had an issue with some old glasses that were scratched, but new. The manager took care of me. Took a little but of convincing him, but in the end I am happy.

I was in desperate need of a new pair of glasses. Darren, the sales person, and the optometrist, Dr. Yao, went out of their way to ensure I got a new pair that day. I was so impressed with their service. Thank you !

A sales associate Damaris helped me pick out the perfect glasses. This is my first pair and she was so helpful and throughly explained everything making me feel at ease. She also help me pick out yue perfect lens. I would definitely recommend this expert to others.

This place WAS cool when they carried contact lenses at the store. That is the only reason why they suck now. Won’t be going back there anymore.

What a difference a year makes. I went in with new VSP that was supposed to be a free exam if in network and $ 10 copayment for a full exam if out of network. Eye Exam told me it would be $ 60. $ 10 for the eyeglass exam and $ 50 for a contact lens exam. I was like «WHAT?»
I tried to discuss with them how it’s only supposed to be $ 10, etc but they insisted that they could charge an extra $ 50 copayment for the contact lens exam. So I walked.
And verified with husband that it should only have been $ 10 for a complete exam that gave me two prescriptions.
I’ll not be going back.

My sister made an appointment and was surprised when Olivia (the receptionist) told her that she didn’t. She then showed her the voicemail that they left her confirming the appointment. Olivia proceeded to tell her that she could do «whatever she wants» and that she could leave. She went in because they gave her the wrong prescription! Never coming back here again. They should really reconsider their staffing as well.

As always when trying to review a totally unacceptable experience, it would be great to be able to have zero stars. Since one is the lowest, Lensecrafters, Oakridge Mall gets one.
My experience started the first week in May after another optician in the mall could not get the glasses that I wanted in a timely manner. I went to Lensecrafters in the hopes of getting one hour glasses. What a ridiculous idea. It would surprise me if anyone ever gets that.
Once I found frames that would be acceptable, I talked to a sales person. The frames that I really wanted, no one carries anymore. I wanted two pair of glasses, one regular and one sunglasses. The regular were to be brown transitions and the sunglasses brown tinted. Both needed to be special ordered, 7 – 10 days. So I ordered them.
10 days later I got a call that the glasses were in but one lense was damaged. They needed to reorder, but would expedite. Two days later I got another call that all were ready. I went in and found that the regular pair had a large scratch and the sunglasses had a spider crack in the corner.
At this point I spoke to the general manager, Mike Lozada, and he apologized, gave me a discount, upgraded my regular frames and reordered both. I took the defective sunglasses to use. Mike said he would handle everything personally from here on out.
10 days later I got a call that both were in, but one of the sunglass lenses was broken. Reorder again. The next day I got another call that all were in. Neither call from Mike, by the way.
I questioned this, but was told no problem, glasses are ready. Went to the store and found that the regular glasses were in and no mention of the sunglasses. I asked and after a time was told that something had happened to one of the lenses. After some discussion, the lab technician admitted that he had broken one of the lenses and that he had just ordered the new one. So I left with the regular glasses.
When the sunglasses came in 10 days later, I asked to have them mailed to me. Mike had suggested that he could do this to save me a trip. When I received the sunglasses, both lenses were only partly installed. After calling the store, talking to the main office, and emailing Mike and his supervisor, Julie Wilson, they said that they would order a new pair and send them to me after they checked to make sure they were correct. It took two days. Don’t know how this magic happened.
They were sent out, I got another discount and all seemed to be good…6 weeks from the start at the one hour glasses store! Then Mike said he wanted the second defective pair returned «for training purposes». I had put them together myself and really didn’t feel that I needed to send them to him. They can’t be sold anyway.
Then Mike sent me an email stating that the problems really were do to the fact that my prescription was borderline for curved lenses. Never had he said this before and he is the one that ordered then! And I have a very minor prescription.
Nice enough people, but the service is absolutely unacceptable. I will not shop there again.

I needed glasses and fast and told the tech I was leaving on vacation and had to have them… The tech informed me the lens were out of stock, but assured me they would be in by the next day… I went into Lens Crafters today to pick the glasses up and was told «There was a MISS Communication» and the lens would not be here for 7 – 10 days… I went to Lens Crafter for their 1 hour service, which is a joke, and I will NEVER, EVER spend a cent in 1 of their stores and never recommend them to anyone… I HATE being lied to so some unethical company can make a buck… DONE!!!

I wish I could give a —1 star but this is how this system works. I have always bought glasses from my opthomologist in the past and I have 3 sets of glasses still from them. I bought a pair of glasses at the end of 2014 as a last resort due time running out and needed glasses. I could not get into my doctors office in time.
LensCrafters glasses are so cheap they scratched even though I had scratch protection I always bought this before and never got scratches on my other glasses, they are always cloudy due to antiglare I purchased, always bought at my doctors office this never happened there, they fell abort in four months… When I brought them back the manager told me he could not fix them I need to buy new lenses??? They were $ 350 glasses I cannot believe this! My doctors office would have repaired these never tell me I needed new lenses for another $ 250!!!
They sell cheap cheap cheap glasses DO NOT BUY HERE GET QUALITY GLASSES THESE ARE FAKE BRANDS CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP!
NEVER EVER WILL I GO HERE AGAIN AND GET RIPPED OFF!!!

Took a bit longer than I had hoped, but overall a fan. Michelle was great and very helpful. Happy technology has evolved that I can pay just a bit more and save my eyes from being dialated.

Went in with my elderly relatives glasses to fix them and they couldn’t fix them. so I said just make her a new pair since they have her last prescription. They said NO it is against the law. She would have to get a exam. Well she cant walk and is bed ridden… NOW WHAT? Nothing they can do. So I guess if you are elderly and bed ridden you get no glasses and have to wear broken ones.

I’m not going to lie, all these bad reviews got me worried about this appointment. I made this appointment for my son in a week advance but because of the bad reviews I phone called several places in between to get an appointment that:
1) Was open on weekends or after work hours (like around 7:00pm)
2) Had an appointment available within the next two weeks
3) Had a wide selection of eyeglasses, including kids frames
4) Takes VSP insurance
And I had no luck and ended up sticking to this appointment. Everything worked out really well! We got there early at 3:00pm and our appointment was not till 3:30pm. They were able to get me started right away on paperwork and helped my son pick out frames that he would like. One of the associates was really helpful on finding the right size for my son’s face. He taught us even how to read the tags on the sizes of the glasses.
Dr. Donald D (don’t remember what his last name was) was AMAZING! He took his time with my son and made the whole appointment so much fun for him! Not that my son was scared but he was worried because he didn’t know what to expect in an eye exam. Dr. Donald put him such at ease and even made him laugh. He also gave me the option to opt out on the eye dilating. It’s ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ with optometrists giving the option or not in my past experience. Really cool!
After the exam and picking out some great Ray Ban frames, they told us that the glasses will be done in 2 hours! I was surprised because this is the only optometrist place that I know that has a lab and can do same day of prescription glasses! Huge plus! We both left the store happy campers!
One down fall was that there was a sign throughout the store that says «50% off lenses with purchase of frame» Well to find out, that only applies to people without insurance. Yes that is awesome that they are helping people without insurance but why wouldn’t discount help for insured people as well.
TIP: Located in Oakridge Mall, closer to the Sears side of the mall

I had a poor experience with this store. I called to ask if they had in stock two types of frames before driving down there to place my order (already on hold for a little over 5min) and the woman told me «we’re really busy right now, can you call later or give me the product info and I’ll call you back. I wonder if I went into the store and asked the same question that she would give me the same response.

Appointment at 11:40AM, I got in about 11:00AM to pre-​pick out my frames. My first time coming here, the previous time I was at any lenscrafter, was back in 2008 at the Eastridge location. I was thinking it wasn’t going to be busy at all. I was wrong. Luckily I got in early, each staff member were with a client already there were 4 employees there already. They were busy! So I perused on my own, someone was on the phone and I just asked to get a glasses tray to place the frame on hold for me.
Pre-​screening went quickly. Olivia was very attentive as I had a little side package deal. My seven year old goes wherever I go. The room was a tad bit small, she still manages to maneuver another stool into the room for my son. Test was done quickly. So I sat back down to be called up again for my eye exam.
Dr. Donald D. was amazing! Double checked my prescreening results with what he just examed and re-​examined me as the charts were a bit off. Just my astigmatism, the prescreening with the bright lights just made my prescreening oddly way off.
My son was sitting in a corner and was checking out my vision, once I was given contacts, I saw that he was making faces at me thinking I didn’t see him. The doctor was patient too with my son in the room. He didn’t realize I was given contacts after my eyes were dilated. Since myopia is uncertain if it could be hereditary, it was suggested that he gets an eye exam as well, and to reschedule it.
For a busy business, my glasses were ready less than an hour later as I went to grab lunch nearby with my son. By the time I went back for a pick up, the store was packed full of patrons. I did see them acknowledge folks who haven’t been helped yet.
Since I’m under a new vision insurance, it made a huge difference to come here. I called my previous eyecare business, and the quote they gave me sounded odd. Over the phone quote to me when I provided my new insurance:
Co-​Pay– $ 45
Frames– patient pays 85% of cost
Single vision lens: $ 40 off
When I called lenscrafter, after looking up my insurance:
Co-​Pay– $ 15
Frames: $ 120 covered for me
Len: $ 120 covered for me, but can be used for my contacts instead if I wanted to do so.
That is a HUGE difference. The awesome part was, it was less than I expected and I got my glasses the same day! Less than an hour to boot! On top of that, I was given a month contact to wear until my contact lens came in. And not one of those contact lens that say «DEMO» lol. I’ve had a handful of contacts handed to me with DEMO printed on the outter rim before at previous businesses.
Olivia was patient as we discussed the polycarbonate or the high index lens. Since my previous lens were polycarbonate, she mentioned that it was okay if I chose the polycarbonate since I was used to the weight. I wasn’t forced to purchase the high index lens. There was also a $ 50 rebate with my contact lens too! She already gave me the form and receipt, just waiting for the boxes to get in so I could submit it in! Yay!

Very disappointed with this group. LensCrafters in Eastridge Mall had closed and our records went to Oakridge. Made an appointment for 12.40pm today’s and got there a little before and they asked me to take a seat. So I sit and I wait, at about 1.30pm a guy comes up and asks are you being helped and I say I had an appointment at 12.40pm and he asks the lady next to me and her appointment is for 1pm. Are you sure it’s today at this office, answer is yes and he helps her to look it up, meanwhile I’m still there, he didn’t ask me who I was? At 1.40pm I get up and ask how much longer? And the guys tells me the doctors are dealing with other patients and it depends on how long they spend with those customers, ok fair enough and hour and a half later they look at me the doctors come out and there I am the only one sitting there and the doctor comes up to me and says so do you have an appointment and what was your name? Really? I’ve been sitting there for an hour and a half and they don’t know who I am? What the freak people? So ticked off I walked out. I need new glasses but you can forget me going to that LensCrafters or any LensCrafters at all if that’s how you treat your customers.

The only reason I decided to go with LensCrafters relies solely on the fact that they have a large selection of frames and they are conveniently placed in the mall.
If you are looking for a place that takes their time with you and respects you as a customer, this isn’t it. To start off, my experience with the eye exam wasn’t all that great. The Dr. doesn’t seem to have the patience in regards to giving eye exams. It is as if he treats the customers as a number and rushes through the whole process.
They lack in organization for scheduling eye exams as well. I had a scheduled appointment and wasn’t seen till 30 minutes later. I understand there is a possibility of exams going over the allotted time. However, this wasn’t the case, there was a man that was left in one of the rooms that they had forgot about. He came out about 45 minutes later to see what had happened to which they apologized for forgetting about leaving him in there. It was a simple case of disorganization.
Moving on to my experience with buying a pair of glasses. I had ordered a pair of glasses that were partially rimless (it was the third pair of the similar styles that I had ordered from them, the other times I had gotten my prescription from Costco). I went over the types of lenses that they had to make sure I was getting the lenses I wanted. While going over the options I told the associate that I wanted the thinnest lens they had, as my old ones were pretty thick. So I ordered the «thinnest» lenses (about $ 200 more) that the associate told me they had and was informed that it would be ready in about two weeks being that it was a special type of lens (plastic, which they say is their HD lens).
Two weeks pass and I get a call to pick up the lens. When I arrived at LensCrafters to pick up my glasses the first thing I noticed was that my lenses were thicker than my previous glasses and they were not «buffed and rolled.» He said it was an extra fee and they could do it for $ 40 more dollars. I was never told about this option and my previous glasses were already buffed and rolled when I picked them up without even being told of the option (w/​o this options the lenses look foggy on the edges). So I opted to have it done for the extra $ 40. The associate couldn’t find the option to charge me, so the manager told them to just do it. I also mentioned to the associate that I had ordered the thinnest lenses they have and that it was the same thickness of my current glasses. He informed me that it wasn’t their thinnest and I could pay extra to get them thinner. The associates I dealt with had no idea about lenses so they had to go back and forth with their superior and the ones making the glasses. I understand there are different indexes that give you a thinner lens, however they disregarded the fact that I was initially told these were the thinnest ones they had.
Not knowing if I even got the correct lenses that I had paid for I decided to just give them a try. I’ve had glasses for 7 years and know that a stronger prescription means there is an adjustment period for your eyes. The adjusting phase for these glasses were different. It felt like the prescription was way too strong (I don’t know if it was the eye doctors mistake or the ones who made the lenses). It felt like I could only see only see out of one point of the lenses. If I tried to look through another part of the lens everything seemed distorted.
As I had mentioned before I had purchased partial framed glasses. This means that the lenses are supported by a rubber string to hold them in place. To do so the lenses are drilled into to create a bevel to keep the string in place. One of the lenses string was perfectly centered while the other one was one drop away from coming off. The lenses were sloppily put on the frames and there was obviously something wrong with how they were made.
It’s not a surprise that the employees don’t wear name tags. It seems like I always encounter a rude employee there as well. On a previous visit one of the employees I spoke with was blunt and rude. During these visits I was able to hear the other employees talk about my situation amongst each other making it seem like I didn’t know what I had ordered in the first place.
My recent visit was icing to the cake. I will not be returning to LensCrafters again.

I feel like the only thing consistent here is the awful service. I opted to come here instead of my regular Kaiser but I probably won’t be coming back.
The upside is that they offer quite a variation as far as different brands, styles, and options. That’s where the two stars come in. Although I value all of these options, I’d pass.
The workers seem like they have no idea about what they offer and instead of gracefully saying they don’t know, they act like they do (and are very rude about it). Not to mention they talk about customers openly on the store front.
I had to come back on several occasions, experienced different workers, and every single worker gave me the same service. I found that when they don’t know something, they continue to repeat the same thing over and over.
One exception was, I think he was the manager, Jerry. He is actually very knowledgable and helpful. Wish his employees could be the same.

I was in a car accident and needed replacement glasses. The place was packed when I stopped by on Christmas Eve. A friendly young lady behind the counter had me sign in and helped me complete my paperwork. When I was done with the paperwork and still waiting for the doctor to see me the same friendly young lady helped me pick out some possible frames.
Stacie helped me with the preliminary eye tests before the doctor saw me. Dr. Chen was thorough and answered all my questions. After my exam, Stacie and the other friendly ladies helped me decide between a pair of Polo and Zenga frames. Their lab had my new glasses ready in 3 hours.

WORST PLACE EVER! A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE…
I saw one eye doctor who told me to try wearing different contacts when it ended up that I had an eye infection and the new contacts only made it worse. He then proceeded to not fill out my reimbursement form for work correctly because it was his opinion that I did not need to wear glasses for work (I use glasses/​contacts everyday for viewing my dual screen monitors that is required at my job).
The second doctor, the managing doctor was much better. He told me that I had an eye infection and that I needed to NOT wear contacts at all in order to clear up the eye infection. He then referred me to see a specialist.
The customer service staff that sell the glasses are completely incompetent or have no idea what is going on. They are completely snotty to work with and do not inform you of the status of your eye wear.
I bought glasses on 9÷9÷2013 and have not gotten my glasses back due to a myriad of issues. They told me that they typically take 7 to 14 business days for glasses they cannot compete in-​house but the wait time is much shorter than this, this has been a complete lie.
The first pair of glasses did not fit me well and I exchanged them right away on 9÷9÷2013, but they told me that they had to get these framed shipped in. Two weeks later, they told me that the lenses had broken in transit and they had to send them back to the lab. Subsequently, the managing lab technician called me on 9÷21÷2013 to indicate that the lenses had broken in transit but should arrive shortly.
On Wednesday, the General Manager of the store, Jackie called to let me know that the lenses had not broken but the frames had broken. She then stated that they could give me a temporary fix with the same frame but two different color frames attached, while I wait for my glasses. I told her that I needed these glasses badly for work.
I went to pick up the glasses yesterday, the frames are completely ghetto, the lenses are super thick (none of the staff told me that this would happen), and the staff there were completely clueless as to what was going on.
As for 9÷27÷2013, I do not have my glasses and I am planning on returning them all together and start over with somewhere else. I have visited them a total of five times and each time has been a complete waste of time. I spent over $ 500 on glasses that I have not received. Too expensive with bad employees/​customer service.
