LifeWay Christian Store

I have been a customer since I first became a Christian in 1993. I used to faithfully shop Lifeway when it used to be Berean Christian stores on Meridian Ave @ Foxworthy. I love it even more now that it is Lifeway. They have great people, great atmosphere, great book selection, large selection of Bibles in English and Spanish, and much more. They also have a larger Spanish language section. Tienen mas material en espanol — mas Biblias, estudios biblicos, libros, regalitos, mas musica, himnarios, devocionales, y tambien tienen una seccion especialmente dedicada donde se encuentran todos los libros en espanol — es mas organizada tambien — Que Dios los bendiga! God bless!

We come here at least once a month. Great selection of books, DVDs (lots of under $ 15 family choices) & CDs. There’s even a burn bar to make your own CDs… my son loves making his own CD. There’s a children’s section with lots of children’s items… books, DVDs, toys… we always find something fun here! If you sign up they will send you coupons by email or mail. Sadly tho, this is the closest & only Christian bookstore I know of. I wish there were more Lifeway Christian Bookstores in the Bay Area, especially on the peninsula closer to us.

Customer service is great! I purchased a bible the other day and needed a name engraved. The young lady that does the engraving was done with her shift. I could tell she was in a rush. However, she stayed and did the engraving for me and kept a loving attitude the entire time. Thank you!

Best place to go with selection. It’s very important to live our lives with the word of God grained into our mind, heart, and soul. Many believe, but do not walk it. Stay straight into the ways of the Lord.

I would like to tart off my saying that I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-​Day Saints (Mormon Church) and although we are also a Christian church, this store does not carry our specific material with the exception of the King James Bible.
That being said, I’d ordered a book of scripture directly from our Mormon church online, as there are none of our bookstores in the area.
It was a Christmas gift for my husband for our first Christmas together and when I received it I decided it would be special to get his name embossed on the front cover. Our bookstore used to do it before it closed, so I’d been looking for somewhere that had the embossing machine to get it done.
I stumbled upon this store and asked if I could bring in a bible that I did not purchase there to get embossed and was told that I could.
I brought it in to be embossed and was told (kindly) that they only emboss bibles that were sold at that specific store. I told them my situation and told them that I was desperate, it being a week before Christmas and I was out of options.
In true Christian spirit they said of course and that they only wanted it to be from there in case the embossing didn’t turn out the right way so that they could replace it, which made perfect sense. They said they’d do it and if it turned out that it would be $ 6 and if I wasn’t happy with it that it would be no charge.
It was refreshing to be treated with kindness and understanding without care that I was of another denomination. 5 stars for Lifeway.

I frequented LifeWay back when it was Berean. Now that it’s under new management, here are the differences I notice:
1) Customer Service is much better. The staff are much friendlier. Noticeably.
2) You no longer have to wait overnight for the Bible engraving. This past weekend, we had some last-​minute decisions for baptism, so we needed to get some personalized Bibles. I was able to wait in-​store while they did the engraving, and it saved me having to make a second trip to pick it up.
Things overall just feel… better. I don’t know how to put it into words. It’s just a feeling you have when you walk into the store. Everything feels fresher, newer. I like it.

Since Bereans sold to Lifeway their selection of books only cater to Baptists. They got rid of all Charismatic books except for the bible. It should not be called Lifeway christian Bookstores but rather Lifeway Southern Baptist Bookstores.

Customer Service is GREAT.

I love going back each time.
After my family got right with God … We found this store we have bought frames to decorate our house with bible scriptures because surely the presence of the Lord is in our home :) we have bought devotional books for our 11 year old daughter. She us slowly coming to know who God is and understanding a little more about our savior jesus christ by reading these teen devotionals.
We also got her a kid bible that she likes, pretty cool it has pictures that gives her an idea what the setting possibly looked like in a story she reads in the bible. NOT the whole bible has pictures just some.
I got my little 1 year old. A devotional … I read it to her before bed time and during breakfast .
Never too early to start teaching our kids about our Mighty God!
I have purchased couple shirts, prayer books for my husband and he loves them.
We have purchased bible movies (christian movies) which we enjoy! Ex: courageous, marriage retreat, me again, night with the king … And more… and when my husband and I have date nights when the kids sleep we continue to fill our spirits with christian, movies … Movies that benefit us and are so motivational ! Have no cursing, appropriate movies since now a days movies are so vulgar.
I also bought a wallet for my husbands birthday and the young lady who helped said «if you would like i can print his name. And put a message» well sounded like a great idea. So i had his name embossed and a little message inside. He Loved it!
We always go here ! :)
I wish they had the «wall scripture stickers» but i know they do not sell those but i hope one day they can! over all 5+ stars!

I was asked to boycott this store because I was told that this store will not put anything Catholic related items. Well what ever that is kind of crappy. I only go into this every once in a while. Well they have crappy customer service.

This place is more than just a bookstore. You can also get things like t-​shirts, picture frames, purses, puppets, pictures, and more. The regular prices of the gift type items can be a little pricey, but there is usually a clearance section in the back that faces the inside of the mall. I got some sterling jewelry at 75% off here last year. There are a lot of books that look good, and they also have Jewish stuff in the back.
