wow, i am so happy i found out about these guys! Great great great service and they really did go above and beyond my expectations. They installed new software, diagnosed the issues and replaced a hard drive for a very fair price!

In class at San Jose State (dislike the small desks) my Macbook Pro Retina 13″ fell off my desk and the screen was cracked with the outer shell, causing me not to be able to retrieve any data. I had assignments due the following day and that night.
Went to apple to get it fixed and they quoted me $ 700+ and that I would have to schedule an appointment and they couldn’t do it that day. Also told them about needing my files, they couldn’t help me and told me I would have to pay extra for data retrieval.
I went home and hooked up an HDMI cable to my laptop and was able to get my files through my LCD TV screen. (Saved me money and time).
I looked on Unilocal and found this place the next day around noon, told them my situation and how I needed it that day if possible, if not the next day would be fine, got a quote (cheaper than apple) had them fix it. Surprisingly it was done before the day was over! Looked like it was new from the box again!
Good friendly service, honest, and fast if you live in the area. I will definitely go there again if I need my Macbook fixed.

RUN FROM THESE GUYS
I sent in 2 computer for diagnosis and repair. The suggested repairs seemed extraordinarily high. I discovered that the repairs they suggested were upgrades to existing operation and I was not quoted «like for like» repair.
When i questioned the repairs because they didn’t «technically» make sense — I discovered that in some cases, they couldn’t reproduce the problem, but suggested several hundred dollars in «repairs» — these were in fact upgrades and not necessary.
As I continued through a 1 hour and 7 minute frustrating dialog with Vincent, who claimed to be the only manager I could talk to — he continued to refuse to answer simple question and merely parroted nonsense. When I asked to speak to anyone other than him — he explained that he was sending my computers back to me in the slowest possible manner and would not take further action.
I’ve been deprived of my equipment for a month — I used this equipment to earn a living and have therefore been deprived of income. More importantly — this company, through this particular representative, employs fraudulent and deceptive business practices and when question — refuses to engage — I was hung up on.
This is what con artists do, not reputable businesses.

Went in to get my glass fixed and they gave me a free foot and replaced some tracking on my mouse.
Also great customer service.

DO NOT buy refurbished laptops. They make it seem like it’ll be great and pretty much like new, but the one I bought was slower than any laptop I’ve ever used; worse than a PC. Their refund should be longer than a few weeks. Seems like a scheme because the laptop gets slower and slower everyday. All they told me to do was upgrade aka spend more $$$ and that it’s probably slow because I updated the laptop, but I didn’t even get the chance to do that since it won’t even load.

The glass screen on my MacBook pro shattered. I was devastated because I heard a repair like this through Apple would be about $ 500. I did some research and found MacService. Their quote for my repair was $ 199.
MacService was FAST. I shipped out my Mac on a Tuesday and received it back that Friday. It can’t get better than that!
MacService was also very communicative with me — I got an email when they received my computer, and a couple emails updating me on their progress, and an email when they shipped my Mac back. This was important because it’s a little scary shipping off such a personal and important part of my life to a complete stranger — but they kept me feeling comfortable and confident in them every step of the way.
I got my computer back and the screen is as good as new!
I will definitely use MacService for any future computer issues!

My screen was super cracked, and found this place through google/​yelp. Brought my computer in the store last Thursday, and picked it up earlier today (Monday). Very painless process! They even replaced my two broken keys, that the mac store quoted me at $ 800 as they would have had to replace the entire keyboard, for free! Will come again for any other computer woes.

I connected with MacService through Unilocal.I needed to have the logic board on my Macbook Pro replaced as the Apple Store wouldn’t do it. I was ripped off once before by a company called MacTec so I was reluctant to send my laptop away again. The technicians at MacService were extremely helpful. They assured me they were authorized Mac specialists and could replace my logic board for half the price I was quoted from MacTec. They were responsive to my requests, answered my questions, and did the repairs within a few days. They sent me a box with a prepaid label to send the laptop to them and sent it back securely.
I highly recommend MacService for you Mac needs. Check in with Dominique or Brandy.

MacService did a great job of troubleshooting my Mac Airbook after I replaced the battery. They found out I hadn’t seated the battery correctly during my installation and fixed it for no charge. I picked it up less than 3 hours after I dropped it off.

I love MyService. I have been a happy customer of theirs for years. My current 15 inch macbook pro had a logic board issue due to the dog spilling water on it, when I asked Apple to repair it they quoted a flat fee of $ 1,200. This was not an option for me so I took it to MyService. I was quoted $ 580 and the repair was done within a week. Works great so far. Thanks MyService.

After reading so many positive reviews, I thought that this would be the perfect place to bring my 15″ MBP when the screen randomly cracked a couple of weeks ago.
I also went on their website and saw that they have an education program which allows students to receive 10% off on MB repairs, so it seemed like a no-​brainer!
Since I live very close to the shop, I brought my computer in personally. The woman was very nice and told me that they could do the glass replacement no problem. She said that it would either be ready that day or the next — such a nice surprise.
The rest of the process went like this:
August 18: Brought my computer in.
August 20: Received an e-​mail saying that they needed the approval to complete the service, and if I wanted, they can install additional RAM for $ 119 — no, thanks. I called the store to let them know I only wanted to do the screen replacement, but not the RAM this time, but no one answered so I left a message AND sent an e-​mail just in case.
August 21: Receive an e-​mail saying that they will move forward with the glass replacement.
August 23: Sent an e-​mail to them since I hadn’t heard anything in two days…
August 25: Never got a response to that e-​mail, so I called the store around 3:30. I finally got a call back at 4:50 PM informing me rudely that my computer was ready but that they closed in «three minutes» so I can pick it up anytime between 8 AM and 5 PM tomorrow.
August 26: Finally picked up my computer.
So, after what originally was supposed to be a same-​day or next-​day transaction, turned into over a week. I will not be coming back.

Great service, super fast (once they got my computer), really convenient, great customer service. For the most part, a 5-​star operation for sure.
They made one mistake that could have been *huge* though. Sent me a box to put my broken computer in to send back. I pack my computer carefully and affixed the return label they put in the box, so I can send my computer to them for repair. I noticed that it said it was going to Maine — but I just figured maybe they were outsourcing to someone.
Pretty dumb on my part to not take a picture of that label — basically that ended up being the wrong label and my computer was sent to some random person in Maine! And, it didn’t use the tracking number they had for me — so for a few weeks, my computer was completely entirely lost. No one had any record of it, since no one had the actual tracking number.
Turns out someone at MacService mixed up the labels, and my computer was sent to someone in Maine, who was using MacService. Unbelievably, UPS found it without a tracking number in Maine, and returned it to MacService! (5-​stars for UPS there!). Then they fixed it super-​fast, super-​awesome.
So lesson learned — make sure you CHECK YOUR RETURN LABEL, and make sure it shows it’s going to Santa Clara! Other than that potentially huge issue (which you could double-​check for yourself), everything else was stellar from these guys.

Horrible service !! Like the other reviewer said they used to be effecient but now their service is awful! I sent my mac laptop in December and just recently got it back in April. They made a lot of excuses of why it was taking so long but that is inexcusable.

The display of my MacBookAir 13″ was broken by my 18 months old boy, so I went to Apple Store. I was quoted just under $ 500, so I tried this company.
They sent me an empty box very quickly, I sent it back to them — it took a day for them to repair the display and ship it back to me.
Very good work, and I would use them again.

My 17″ iMac Intel was zapped during a thunderstorm power outage. (Yes, I had it on a surge protector — it got zapped too.) My son found MacService for me & it sounded like a great option because we don’t have Apple/​Mac repair options locally, the nearest being 90 miles away which means 2 round trips — drop off & pick up. Not to mention that Apple’s repair prices are notoriously inflated. After checking their website (Wow — free shipping!) & Unilocal reviews, I emailed my repair request only to be told that they DO NOT cover shipping on desktop computers. Big time bummer — UPS wanted $ 187 for 1 way shipping.
So, 2 stars for false — well, at least misleading information — on their website. My email contact person was courteous in her communication.
So, now I’m contemplating buying a refurbished iMac from them or directly from Apple. Hmm, wonder about warranty follow up…

Could not have been happier… like others here, I called apple and of course a cracked screen is NOT covered by warranty. I was quoted $ 800 to repair the glass… This is where MacService came in. Super quick turn around (of course it is a bit pricey for next day air. But that isn’t their fault) sent my laptop out on Monday and had it back repaired today at 9:30 am (Wednesday) I hardly missed it.
Such a relief to know there is a business out there that doesn’t gouge it’s customers.

I had major water damage with my 17″ macbook pro, I brought it in to apple and they quoted me 1300 because my logic board needed to be fixed. With that price, I could buy a whole new laptop, so I was just about to give up hope when I decided to look for a third party place to go for help.
I found macservice through Unilocal,went in on a tuesday to drop my laptop for the free diagnostic check. I got a call back and an email on Wednesday explaining what was wrong and what could be upgraded with my machine including all the specific prices for each part/​upgrade. They offered me the options of keyboard replacement, battery light and cable fix, a new cd drive because mine was broken prior to the water damage, fixed the hinges so my laptop would close right, updated RAM from 4 to 8 gb. Oh and they replaced my rubber feet on the bottom, which were all falling off for free.
They quoted me about $ 800, and when I went in the next day to pick up my laptop, all was well, they explained what was the MINOR problem with my logic board — which was that I couldn’t do a soft shut down and had to manually press the power button from now on (which is not worth paying 1300 at apple to fix)
The best part of my experience, aside from only paying about $ 740 in total for all these repairs and upgrades, but the employees were extremely friendly and really helped me through a time of desperation and sorrow lol. Sean (sp?) was really nice and explained everything in a way that a girl who knows absolutely nothing about computers could understand completely.
I’m very happy with how everything turned out and have been recommending macservice to all my friends who need mac repairs. Definitely returning for all my repairs/​upgrades!

If this were my first visit, I would be giving them one star. I’m bumping it up to two stars out of respect for the fact that they used to be good.
In the past, these folks were flawless in their quick diagnosis, outstanding service and execution. Sadly, it looks like this may be past tense now. A month ago, I took my 27″ iMac in for a replacement optical drive and to replace the existing HD with a bigger one. Over the phone, they quoted options for bigger drives, prices, and service times of a couple days. All good so far. Dropped the computer off — half day later they contacted me and I authorized them to replace both. Two more days go by with no word — and I call them, they told me that there was no larger hard drive that would work with my computer. I authorized them to replace with existing size drive. Later, I Googled the model and learned there were plenty of bigger drives that would work. When I picked up my computer, I asked them about this and they said «Well we only have the smaller drives in stock.» This, of course, is not at all the same thing as «there are no others that would work.»
Bottom line — either their competence is no longer very high or their ethical standards have slipped. Neither of these is acceptable — as a result I recommend looking at other repair service organizations.

My Apple Macbook Pro was one year, one month and one day old when the hard drive died.
PRO TIP: Get AppleCare.
I did not have Apple Care and so I had to shell out some cash to get it swapped out. I dropped my laptop off at their office at 10 AM and it was ready by 4 PM. OS was loaded and ready to go.
PRO TIP: I was very clear that I only wanted a hard drive swap out and no upgrades (as some of the other reviewers have gotten).
I am very happy with the work they did and would recommend them to anyone needing work done on their Mac.

Accidentally cracked the screen on my MacBook Air. :(After being told by Apple that the cost to repair it would be the same as buying a new machine, I found MacService (previously named MyService). All within ONE week:
* They shipped me a free padded box
* I shipped my MacBook Air to them using their prepaid UPS label
* They put a new screen in
* I paid
* They shipped it back to me
The screen looks perfect and it’s as if nothing sad ever happened to my MacBook Air in the first place. This company has it right! Fast service, friendly assistance on the phone… could not be more straightforward and I could not be more pleased. SOLID company and would use again in a heartbeat!

No one is ever happy to visit a computer repair place. Expensive, annoying, and can you trust them?
I’ve been here twice and these folks know what they are doing. I recommend them because:
— They don’t charge for a diagnostic. This is huge — had a repair estimate of $ 300 on one machine and since the machine is old, I was able to say no thanks, without being out a diagnostic fee.
— Fast, great service.
— Competent and trustworthy: Their repair have been great.
— They do component level repairs on Macs, meaning they don’t automatically want to replace the whole board.
I will use these guys again.

I’ve sent my laptop to myservice 3 times, the first time for some water damage on my keyboard and had that replaced. second time for my hard drive going out and the third time for a DOA optical drive. Every time my laptop arrived working and in EVEN BETTER condition than i sent it to them in. It seems like they clean your laptop whenever you send it in, which i really dig. They even gave me a discount when i had a few things done at once!
okay yes there prices are a little high but are you gonna work on your mac your self? i’m A+ certified and i hate digging around on the inside of my laptop, cause apple laptops are SUPER hard to work on, i always feel like i’m gonna break something, i’d rather pay extra and get the peace of mind. especially for something like a keyboard replacement on a MBP.
What makes myservice the best company freggin ever is after i had my optical drive and my HD flex cable replaced the laptop arrived without the optical drive working still, it was a new hard drive but it simply didn’t work. i urgently needed it fixed because i needed to do a bootcamp install on my laptop for school this semester, not to mention i’m taking mostly online classes and they comp’d me free 2 day shipping so i could get my laptop bask asap. 6 days later and i have it back and everything is working great.
