History

Established in 2007.

In 2007, Jim retired from a major wholesale food company, and wanted to stay close to his son Michael, who just completed his brokers license in real estate. One day, Jim came along with Mike while he was having a home inspected for a client. Jim watched very carefully and asked questions during the inspection and was very impressed. He always was a hands-​on person in everything he did. On that day, a light went off in his head, «I can do that», so the journey began, and after extensive study and training from a top inspector in the county, Jim opened up his own business, Manning Home Inspections, and the business took off.

With over 40 years experience as a Sales Representative for three major wholesale food companys, Jim delveloped a wide range of knowledge and experience dealing with and gaining maximum customer satisfaction. His commitment to strong quality service gave him the highest degree of customer loyalty. When he opened, Manning Home Inspections, he took all that experience and carried it over to the new business. He does not skimp on quality, and is always wanting to improve to give his customers the best service possible.

Jim was very professional about his work. He gave us his honest opinion and insights about the work needed. We approached Jim for a property inspection while in contract (we were the buyers), he didn’t paint a rosy picture of the house but gave us the facts straight. The seller did have his own inspection report, Jim was able to point out every problem the on the sellers report and a couple more items too.
Besides the inspection itself I found Jim to be a very down to earth chap, someone who you can immediately trust.

After a nightmare remodel that took place several years ago, I contacted Jim to complete a thorough inspection of our home. He was very responsive and was able to schedule an inspection on a weekend. Jim completed his inspection yesterday and I now have the complete report less than 24 hours later! His report is detailed and very clearly written. He even took the time to show me the photos to walk me through what he did during his inspection so that I would know what to expect by the time the report was sent to me. His work has put my mind at ease as far as the condition of my home, and I now know which areas I need to start with as far as immediate repairs. Jim Manning has become my favorite home inspector. He’s always on time if not early, answers calls quickly, does a thorough inspection, gets the report out very quickly and his fees are right along side anyone else’s. Jim recently did a home inspection for a house I was interested in purchasing. He came out and did a great job inspecting every nook and cranny of the house. He took great pictures, and was able to show me the pictures he took right away. He went over everything he found at the end of the inspection. He was very knowledgeable, and he even took the time to show us how to use the new oven and microwave, which he did not have to do.
My Realtor was very impressed with how detailed Jim was during the home inspection. She mentioned that she had never seen any inspector go to the lengths that Jim did to make sure everything in the house was up to par.
I hope to never move again, but if I do, and I need a home inspection done, I will definitely call Manning Home Inspections

My wife and I are purchasing our first new home and we had a great experience working with Jim. He was very thorough with his entire inspection and provided quality photos and a report following the on-​site inspection. He had really good feedback on what needed to be dealt with and what didn’t. He also was very personable and easy to talk to about a few issues that were uncovered with the house.
I should add that we were able to point out a few minor items that he overlooked, but we had done a lot of homework and reading. So, as with any inspector, you can get better advice and a better inspection with two sets of eyes than one, even with a trained professional; so do some homework before so you know what are some of the important issues to look for!
We would both recommend him to family and friends, especially since he still provided a great service with all of the bells and whistles of competitors at a great, low price (the lowest we could find).
