Marshall’s Department Store

I came in here because Ross was a mess and this was right next door :) Definitely more organized and cleaner than Ross :) Just shop here instead of Ross — the prices are about the same and there’s a bigger selection of items! There’s a few aisle around the store that have clearance/​final clearance, so take a look through those if you’re looking for some good bargains, but I never find anything I like /​it’s usually missing something or it’s not in my size. There’s a lot to look through inside the store so it may seem overwhelming — it’s like a mini mall with everything. You may even find some brand name items for a good price, but it takes a lot of work to really look at everything. Also, there’s a big parking lot that’s shared with other stores, but it’s never too packed!

Was pretty disappointed with this location yesterday. I actually found several items I was interested in purchasing, however, all of them were damaged. I guess I have my expectations a little too high for a discount store, but as a college student on a budget, I have to work with what I’ve got. Not going to settle for damaged/​stained items though.

I’ve never thought that I’d come here to buy anything. I always pass by the Marshall’s at The Great Mall, but never took the time to browse through their stuff — I thought it was just another «Ross.» I’m not trying to say Ross is a bad store, but most of them that I’ve shopped at are unorganized, have poor customer service, and stained marks on their clothes/​products…

There is a Target, where I spend most of my time and money, located in the same plaza as this Marshall’s. My bf and I decided to walk into Marshall’s to scoop on any good deals/​finds for pets. We have a 1 year-​old Corgi who will and can destroy any chew toy, rope, stuffed animal, etc. in about 5mins-​30mins.
We were SO amazed and overjoyed at how cheap dog’s toys and other random stuff were here! All dog’s toys and Nylabones range from $ 2.99 — $ 7.99!!! WHAT A GREAT DEAL! Marshall’s is probably one of our favorite store to look for dog’s toys. The only downfall is that it’s a hit-​or-​miss kind of visit at Marshall’s — there will be days were you’ll find GREAT THINGS and others where you’ll come out with nothing.
Overall, it wouldn’t hurt to come in to take a look. Semi-​friendly staff members, great AC for those hot summer days, and great finds — and if all fails, there’s a Target a few stores down ;)

Watch out for the old man security guard! He kept following me around today. I was looking at the shoes & saw him near me. Went to look at the purses, he was again less than 5 feet away. Then I went to woman’s clothing and he was still near me. I know for a fact he was following me because from outside before I walked in, I saw he was just standing by the front doors.
I may look young but do not harass me by following me around the whole store! I HAVE MONEY!!! I felt uncomfortable the whole time so I gave up shopping and just went to look for my BF. My boyfriend said he was probably following me because I had a big purse and thought I was going to steal or he was just a perv. Either way, i am never shopping here alone ever again.

I love this marshalls. I always find something cute I like here and try really hard to not buy everything. There are always great deals on designer clothes, shades, and knick knacks for the house including paintings and flowers. I’ve also found that backpacks here are a steal!

There are no good deals to be found here. I was here for over an hour and only purchased a pair of tongs for $ 5.
I go to places like Ross/Marshall’s/TJMaxx for things that are good deals. Often you have to look to find the good deals, but the limited selection here makes that quite difficult.
Things that I found to be at normal/​bad prices and passed on:
— Dirty bathroom rugs $ 10
— Cole Haan sandals (they were not cute) for $ 80
— Over the shower racks (for shampoo and stuff) $ 10
— Throw pillows in unattractive prints $ 20
— 4-​pack of blah paisley place mats $ 10
— A barstool for $ 150
— Small bag of Harry and David chocolates $ 5
— Small canister of tea $ 5
— Tommy Hilfiger tank top $ 25

parking can get pretty bad. this place receives a whole lot of traffic, which makes for a messy store.
its almost a guarantee that i will walk away empty handed. theres not much to purchase whenever i come, maybe all the good stuff is already bought by the time i come? the only good things that catch my eye are normally defected by being dropped or are super super dirty. bleh.
customer service isnt bad but it isnt good either.
i dont come here too often because it just takes too much effort sifting through a whole lot of stuff. in hopes of walking way with 1 item (if im lucky).
that being said, when i do make the trip, i enjoy the great mall location a whole lot more.

This is one of the bigger/​better organized Marshall’s I’ve seen. I don’t normally shop here, because I’m very impatient and I don’t like rummaging through racks and racks of clothing… But I was in the area killing time, so I thought I’d drop in and see if there were any pet stuff. (Didn’t find any), so I didn’t buy anything.
This place was really busy for a Tuesday morning. I walked in, and there were at least 15 people in line at the checkout. But they moved the line really quickly. All I heard as I was browsing around was this lady loudly directing the customers to each cashier.
If you’ve got time to kill and have the time/​patience to browse racks of clothes. I’d say. Give this place a try.

If you ever try on clothes at this store, let me just tell you that the lady who works in the fitting rooms is the FRIENDLIEST person I have ever met. Hearing her talk to me soothes any anger I have in my soul. She is just very kind and caring about the items that you bring in. I didn’t catch her name, but she has short hair and has glasses. Everybody needs to meet her!
Besides that, the store lacks sizes and is a bit disorganized. Checkout lines are long.

These type of places… I don’t have high expectations. I don’t expect good finds. I don’t expect good customer service. I don’t expect short lines. The only thing I expect are good prices. Surprisingly I’ve found some stuff here a few times. I’ve gotten a pair of MK dress pants and till this day they are still in pretty good condition except all the lint. But the buttons haven’t broken off surprisingly cuz a lot of my pants do that. I’ve also found a pair of Steven Madden boots in my size but I regret not buying it. This store is pretty clean. It’s literally like right next to Ross. Ross is a mess no matter which Ross you go to. I like this place. The lines aren’t too bad. Workers are nice. I think I’ve bought more stuff here than the one at Great Mall. I like buying brand name stuff for less. I think Ross is overall a little bit cheaper than Marshalls. But overall I like this place even though the area and plaza is hella ghetto.

At first I was hesitant to go here because I had visioned there would be a flock of shoppers and messy store.
I decided to stop by on Monday afternoon. As soon as I walked in, my vision was totally wrong. I thought to myself, «what a clean and organized store.»
I come here mostly for home décor. Although, Great Mall’s Marshall’s is a lot bigger, this place is a lot closer to me so I will be taking weekly trips here.

The customer service here is excellent. The way they treat you almost makes you feel like you’re at a high-​end department store.
They always greet you and answer your questions throughly.

I do not like this store. I went to look for shoes here today and all of the shoes were literally all sizes 5 – 8. And there would be over seven pairs of the shoe. Now, I’m not basing one star on the lack of more sizes, but I will say this. I was GOING to buy these super cool Blowfish boots BUT someone decided they would put the censor RIGHT THROUGH THE BOOT. The material on the boot was suede, so without even taking the censor off the boot I already knew it was ruined. So, fail. Pure and utter failure.
And seriously? Where are all your larger sizes? I went to the juniors section, a rack and a half to one size fits all, x-​small, and small. THREE WHOLE RACKS FRONT AND BACK OF JUST MEDIUMS, and not even HALF OF ONE SIDE OF THE RACK, let’s say a third of it was large and x-​large. Seriously? I’ve been here maybe four times and there are like NEVER any large and x-​large. What the hell?
For the ONE STAR, I was waiting at the register, they only had one register open. Now, I don’t know all the details but I was over hearing the girls at the register and what I got was someone didn’t have enough money for their purchase so they had to run and get more. The girl not ringing, let’s name her… Annoying asked the girl ringing, I saw her name was Dante or something, so we’ll go with Dante, what she should do, saw I was in line and called someone else to come to their register. I was the only one in line, by the way.
Oh, and for the record, there was another woman just standing at the register near the door picking her ass not doing anything productive.
Anyways, so Dante finished with her customer, looked at me while Annoying was asking her again what she should do with the money the kid left behind who didn’t have enough money. What did Dante do? She looked at me right in the eye and WALKED AWAY FROM THE REGISTER not saying a word to me like, «Hang on, I’ll be right with you.» nothing. So she walked over to ANNOYING. By this time I’m highly agitated. I clearly looked upset and Dante is still just F***ING STANDING THERE… you know what? I’m actually not even sure what they were doing, they were looking at something, like the kid’s money WHEN FINALLY Dante decided to hey, maybe RING ME UP.
So, she rung me up, and as I was walking out the door who do I see? I see the manager on duty standing next to the door talking to the woman who was picking her ass earlier. And yes. I did complain.

Clean.
Great kitchen department. Good prices.

I recently stopped by this place on my bi-​weekly trek to Mi Pueblo. (I LOVES ME some MI PUEBLO!!!)
The first thing I noticed upon entering is the CLEANLINESS!!! Usually everything is on the floor at places like this.
The staff is super friendly and greeted me throughout the store
First stop — shoe department. Lots of Steve Madden & Jessica Simpson quality.
Strolled through the Women’s department. Basic brands like Kenar and Liz C.
Children’s department was actually CLEAN and ORGANIZED!!! (Amazing!) Lots of Carter and JCP brands.
Decent selection of Housewares and Bedding.
Marshall’s and places of the like are personally not my cup of tea, but all in all, a good place to go if you like to hunt bargains!!!

Oh my gosh! This store is so nice because of its newness! I was not greeted by an associate at all during my 45 minute stay so that’s a negative. I did not find everything that I was looking for but I did find some other great things. Isn’t that how it always is though? ;)
I usually don’t buy clothes for a while opting for gym clothes, I me er know when I can go, so I don’t really have to buy cute clothes. However, I could not resist buying a few items! They had some really great stuff and I will probably have to frequent this location more often. Definitely recommend coming here!

I actually like this Marshalls. It’s always clean and organized.
Customer service is good and I always find what Im looking for at a decent price.
But I have to admit that I usually shop here at night, when I know for sure that parking won’t be a nightmare lol.

Interesting location to put a Marshalls. Maybe the shopping center should invest more money on the parking lot. Also, considering Ross is 2 stores down, Marshalls should have taken over the old Mervyns store across the street (plus I would assume there’s a lot more space).
During my recent visit, I was leaving the fitting room (with items I wanted in hand) and the employee in the fitting room literally ripped the clothes out of my hand insisting she had to check for the price tags. UMM?! Is she accusing me of trying to steal? I’ve been shopping at Marshalls and their sister store, TJ Maxx, for a looonnnggg time. I have never experienced this before!
Overall, the inventory was very poor. But the racks were packed (so packed, it’s hard to browse through the clothing). And the floor plan seems to be very small compared to other Marshalls. I think I’ll avoid this Marshalls!

I went with my family on an early Saturday afternoon and the store was clean. I read another review saying that the store wasn’t clean? I mean really? That is because of the area this store is in… That’s how the Ross (just a few stores down) is… Such a mess. I actually feel for the employees here because they are going to have their work cut out for them on a daily basis. The people who make a mess at this store have a huge lack of common decency, common sense and respect for others.

Household Item Prices — 4 ½ stars
I can’t wait to go back and do some serious Christmas shopping… Not to mention I will be putting several items here at the store on my wish list.

This place used to be at Almaden, but they recently reopend where Toys ‘R’ Us used to be at. I went there this morning and there were so many people!
But don’t let that stop you from coming here. They’re very good about crowd control. They had several friendly and helpful sales associates on both the sales floor and at the cash registers. So even if you were in line waiting to get rung up for your merchandise, you’d wait only 5 minutes tops because it’s that fast.
This place has a variety of products for ridiculously low prices. Even their home décor items were interesting and for a good price. Everything was very organized, nice, and clean compared to Ross, which is a couple of store down. I would definitely come back here again. When there’s less people of course. =)
