Mashouf Orthodontics

I highly recommend Mashouf Orthodontics. Our whole family has gone here for our ortho work. The results are amazing and the staff is very friendly. I also like how flexible they are with there schedule and willing to fit you in when needed.

Having straight teeth is more than just cosmetics, it can allow for better functionality and can increase a person’s confidence. I’ve always been against changing my «look» for purely cosmetic reasons, but when I noticed that the gap in my teeth were starting to widen more and more, I knew it was time to seek an orthodontist. Other than the «gap» in my front teeth and my increasingly growing overbite, my teeth weren’t causing me any physical problems. My personal goal was to remove the gap, reduce my overbite, and pull as little teeth as possible. I decided to have a consultation with Dr. Mashouf since he promotes «not pulling teeth» and he had good Unilocal reviews. I also visited 3 other orthodontists for comparison.
While other orthodontists wanted to pull 4 of my teeth prior to treatment, suggested putting screws on my teeth, and went as far as suggesting jaw surgery, Dr. Cameron Mashouf was willing to work with me throughout the treatment plan to only pull teeth as needed. He was also very patient in answering all of my questions. Just from looking at my teeth, he was able to promise to reduce my overbite to the recommended mm w/​o the need for all the teeth pulling and crazy surgery. So, I went with Dr. Mashouf. Dr. Kayhan Mashouf was my main orthodontist and he was a pleasure to work with. He is friendly and always in a good mood. The entire staff is very nice and the office is cozy. The appointment process was great in that I never had to wait long before they called my name. Being me (I’m always on time or 2 minutes late), so shortly after I walk in the door, they are ready to see me. They always finish on time as well, so it’s easy to plan your schedule around the appointments.
My treatment ended up being 2 years and 3 months long. Throughout the process, the doctors worked closely with me to improve my teeth. They were always patient in answering any questions I had and listened to my concerns. Halfway through treatment, they let me decide if I wanted to pull my teeth to obtain the perfect, ideal smile, or if I wanted to keep my 4 teeth to keep my «look» but still have an awesome smile. I opted for the latter and loved the outcome. They recommended the Damon braces, which worked well. The entire process was relatively pain free. I only took painkillers a few times throughout the whole treatment. The most painful/​annoying thing was the TPA, it left indentations on my tongue, but you will get used to it. Drinking lots of water makes it less painful. Occasionally, the braces would poke my cheeks at the very back. After notifying some of the staff (Nayeli/​Hillary), they were very kind to always double check that it doesn’t poke my cheeks when making adjustments.
Nayeli also does awesome artwork on the whiteboard, which makes the visits more interesting. Overall, it was a great experience. I would highly recommend Mashouf Orthodontics to my family and friends. It was also a nice surprise to receive a Jamba Juice gift card from them after my treatment was complete.

Dr. Kayhan and Dr. Shannon are the best! I recently went in for some work on the spacing between my teeth and they fixed the problem in less than an hour! I’m extremely happy with the result. Not only were they knowledgeable, but they were also very thoughtful and considerate during the process. I’m definitely recommending them to my friends and family!

Dr, Mashouf and his son are the best at orthodontics! They are extremely knowledgeable, friendly, caring and are dedicated to achieving the best possible results. I recommend them five stars. My whole family has been and I had a very positive result with invisalign. From the consult to the end, I found them to be professional and punctual, They are the kindest orthodontists you ever will meet! If you have a child or you as an adult need braces, you can expect stellar treatment from this practice! They are first rate and very talented! You will feel like family there.

Dr. Mashouf did an incredible transformation on my teeth in such a reasonable amount of time. I could not be any happier with the results. The process of having braces and going to the appointments was enjoyable too because of the friendly and professional staff and the fast progress.

Favorite part of this office is even though they are super busy, they still try to work with your after school schedule and even now with my college schedule, taking me in a couple days after I call.

I was given Dr. Mashouf as a referral from my dentist. I needed braces and as an adult, I was a bit nervous of the whole process not to mention the insecurity of having to wear them at my age. From the initial consultation to the process of putting them on, adjustment visits, taking them off to the retainer stage, I couldn’t have picked a better place to go. They are super friendly and really take the time to make sure you are being taken good care of. I highly recommend this place :)

I am a 41 yr old who wanted my permanent retainer replaced after having the same one on for 10 yrs. I first looked up orthodontist offices near me and chose this one because it had good reviews. I first met Dr. Marta Baird for a consultation and set up an appointment. I assumed she would be doing the work. When I came in for my appointment, no one greeted me. No one knew my case. Dr. Baird was not there. A technician finally looked up the notes that Dr. Baird wrote and didn’t understand what i had already discussed w the orthodontist. The price was not set that was previously discussed. I felt like I was coming for the first time, and getting terrible service. I became very uncomfortable waiting in a dentist chair next to a row of patients with their family members. And then another technician approached me, wearing a mask, asking me what was going on. I finally just left the office. I did not feel comfortable there at all. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism.

When my daughter’s Herbst appliance broke during Christmas week (the day before we were to fly out for the holiday), and her usual orthodontist’s emergency number didn’t seem to work, we reached out to Dr. Mashouf. The receptionist told us to come by, and they’d squeeze my daughter in. We waited at most 5 minutes before being called back to see Dr. Kayhan. He explained to my daughter everything he was doing (I love it when doctors talk to her instead of me — she’s thirteen after all!), and we were on our way very quickly. What an amazing office — everyone from the receptionists to the orthodontists were as helpful as they could be. Thank you!

I was Dr. Mashouf’s patient for about 2 years in high school (2000 – 2002). Dr. Mashouf is incredibly nice and did a great job with my teeth. I could tell he was personally invested in my teeth and became flustered when I’d slack off on wearing my retainer. The staff are very friendly and the other orthodontists he had were very professional and gentle. Thank you Dr. Mashouf for the work you did, over 10 years on my teeth still look great!

We are so thrilled to have found an amazing orthodontic office for our son. Although the entire office has been wonderful with us, Dr. Kayhan really takes his time with us and talks directly to our son as well as to us. He makes sure we have any questions answered and has such a calm and kind demeanor. The front office is wonderful, especially Kara, we had a slight orthodontic emergency (my son had done something to his lower braces) and she managed to fit us in probably hearing the concern in my voice! We are grateful to have such a great team to guide us along this new journey!

My daughter’s treatment has just finished and we are completely happy with the results. She started when she was 12 in another city then we move to the Bay area. She has been referred to Dr. Mashouf more than a year ago. Now she is 15 with a beautiful smile and correct bite.
Dr. Mashouf and his team, Dr. Kayhan and Dr. Baird did a perfect job! Dr. Mahsouf is honest and a master in his field. Dr. Kayhan and Dr. Baird are bright orthodontists and they are doing a great job together. They listen to our concerns and consider our feedback.
Every office visit was a pleasant experience for us. The staff, Kara, Emilia, Tammy, Nayeli and Hillary are nice and caring. They are a good team together. I felt comfortable to discuss any concern and always got satisfying answers. More importantly, the team tried to accommodate my schedule.
Also, they are always very spirited and festive when it comes to holidays. You get friendly emails that celebrate the holiday and also remind you of your appointment. Also, they always have some contest or some activity for children. It is a very child friendly area and the staff are incredibly kind.

This office is the best! The staff is friendly and the doctors are quite knowledgable.
I brought my daughter when she was 9 even though I thought that was kind of young I had heard the new strategy for orthodontia was to start early so treatment is easier and within a shorter timeframe.
Wow. She went in with a giant gap and cross bite and left with a beautiful smile all before middle school. I mention middle school because that’s when kids are most insecure and having a mouth full of metal doesn’t help.
Her treatment started with a removable expander (like a retainer but with a piece you crank to expand the mouth). The senior Dr Mashouf had wanted to avoid braces all together if possible. But it became evident she would need them. The time from braces on to off was about 6 months. It’s been three years since the braces have been off and her teeth still look great.
My son began his treatment last year at 8 but has a much more complicated treatment plan. He has major crowding and a cross bite to the extent of effecting his breathing. Started with top expander, then bottom. Then top braces, took out expanders, then bottom braces. Expander back in. It hasn’t been easy for my guy but we can see the difference with his breathing and rarely do we hear him grind now that things are fitting together properly. Underneath all that metal we can see how nice and straight they are. His treatment will be another year at least but glad to have it done now. He too will be done before middle school.
Everything from the financials to treatment has been explained thoroughly and all questions answered.
Young Dr Mashouf (it’s his dad’s practice) and Dr Baird are also wonderful and they discuss treatment plans as a team. It’s wonderful to see them working and deciding together the best plan for their patients.
I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Dr Mashouf is very professional and knowledgable. I have brought two of my children and I am extremely happy with the outcomes. all appointments are on time and efficient. All staff are very friendly and accomodating. I recomend all my friends and family to go to him. I recomend his practice highly.

I visited 9 orthodontist, it was such a painful journey to find the a good Dr. This is the only 5 starts I gave among all the Drs I visited! Here is why:
the Drs: you get Dr Mashouf, who has more than 20 maybe 30 years experience, and Dr. Baird, who is fresh and knows all the most advanced and up to date technologies in this field. And they both exam you, they work together for the best plan that fits you, they are both super super nice and accommondatig, they are both very honest with you, they tell you the possible «side effects» upfront, they both committ to you in person that they will be available on their cellphones anytime you have an
emergency. what else can you possibly want more than these?
the office staff: all of them, each and everyone, are so friendly, helpful, super super nice, not just the one who is answered the phone, or just the front desk, i mean all the ladies work at this office, all of them are the nicerest people you can ask for in a dental office!
the office: nice and clean! there is water machine, plenty of magzines and books, in a all doctors medical complex in a quite block. comfortable inside and out!
the oppointment: Same day! yes, I asked if they can schedule the same day as i don’t have much time left to the deadline of my flexible spending account, and they arranged that to happen, and ask the drs to see me before their lunch time! (i asked other places, none of them were willing to give up a little bit of lunch time to see me)
I am leaving this review very seriously! 9 orthodontist visits, I believe I can have a say about how to find a good orthodontist! and this is the one. although their price is not cheaper (the 2^nd highest one among the 9 i visited), I am seriously thinking about get braces there. (if not for money reasons, I would have signed on site today)!
the only drawback is that they don’t have a x ray machine in the office, you have to go to a lab. This is the only thing that bothered me a little bit, but they are good enough for me to overcome this.
One more plus, Dr. Baird is very very pretty, and so sweet!!(most grils that are as pretty as she is act like a diva!) she is a completely sweetheart!

After consulting with 5 orthodontist, Dr Mashouf was our man. Friendly, kind, honest straighforward. Its a pleasure for us to bring our 12 year daughter here. After 4 months of having braces on, you can see the difference in her teeth already. We couldnt have found a better orthodontist.

Dr. Mashouf is a great orthodontist. It is my second time having braces because I had a bad orthodontist the first time around who only straightened my teeth, but didn’t fix my bite. my first orthodontist actually made matters worse.
In any case, Dr. Mashouf is very good and caring. He has a pretty high tech office where you get reminders over email & he scans in all of your images. The thing I like about his office is that he really reviews in detail the problem that you have and the solutions. He spends a lot of time with his patients, which isn’t always the case with orthodontists. The staff is really nice, friendly and always make you feel welcome.
And, this is really trite to include in a rating (curb fans will like this), but the magazine selection in the waiting room is pretty good!
