This review is wayyy long overdue. I’ll start off by saying that my experience with Angela Delong was probably the best experience I’ve had with a hair stylist ever in my 24 years. I chopped my hair into an A-​line, long bob and had ombré balayage after having it long my whole life, and I felt totally comfortable in her hands. Here’s why:
1. She’s super flexible:
She was able to fit me in the next week after I called! I told her I wanted to get my hair done before I traveled home for Xmas if that was possible, and she even offered to come in on her day off to fit me in.
2. She spends the time it takes:
First of all, she asked if I had any pictures of what I wanted so that she could plan/​think about what she was gunna do with my hair a week in advance. She ended up staying a full 4 hours after the salon closed to do my hair since I don’t get off work until 6pm.
3. She listens:
We spent the first 20 minutes just talking about what I wanted and the pictures I brought before she started anything on my hair. When we first bleached I thought I wanted it lighter, but after blow drying and seeing it w my skin tone, I thought toning it down a little might be better. So she went back, washed my hair all over again and showed me samples of color so I could choose what I wanted, before toning. She spent the time to re blow dry. Turned out perfect, and she didn’t charge me any extra at all for that!
4. Lastly, she’s really fun to talk to and really takes the time to get to know her clients.

If you know me I hate doing things to my hair. Even cutting it. Finally decided to cut my hair after almost 2 years of growing it. Went in and talked options with her and let her do her magic! Cut off about 10 inches from my long hair. She left my hair feeling so much healthier, lighter, and voluminous! Talked about doing platinum ombré to my hair and she told me to come in when I was ready to do it. When I finally decided to go in she took her time and explained everything she was doing to me so I wasn’t left out of the loop. So great to hear abc see what the process is. She also explained to me it could take a couple of try’s but that it’s nothing to be afraid of because everyone’s hair is different and will take the dye differently. Once we started I was anxious for the results. First visit I was in long with his blonde my hair came out. Didn’t think my hair would take it so well since of my hair type. But she works miracles! Really took care of my hair and also gave me great tips to keep my hair feeling smoother and looking healthier.
Just went back last night for another session to get my hair closer to platinum and I am so happy with the results. My hair is so light and where I wanted it. I am in love with the results!!! She made my dream hair a reality and got the results I was looking for. So happy I went to her for my hair !!
I also love NORMA, who works right next to ANGELA. She is so friendly and funny and just great with all her clients. Such a great person to talk to ! I haven’t had a personal experience with her but my mom has and my mom just loves her! My mom went it to get a perm and it came out wonderful ! Just how my mom wanted ! Haven’t seen my mom so happy before about her hair ! My mom definitely is going back to her for any future hair decisions. She is also a fav from MG Image.

I have a similar story to Shelley below. A bit nervous but liked Angela’s work on Unilocal.Three hours and $ 200 later I have sun kissed highlights I can’t wait to do again! I highly recommend this salon and especially Angela Delong as your hair specialist. My visit here was such a breeze. We chatted and laughed while she was giving me a haircut next thing I know she’s showing me my haircut results. My hair was completely dry and dead at the ends. I was blown away with how much healthier my hair looked and felt. With just a few questions she gave me the perfect cut I totally imagined. I found Angela DeLong on Unilocal because I was looking for a someone who would do a really good ombré/​balayage for a decent price on Asian virgin hair. I e-​mailed Angela about a week before a weekend appointment with the hair I wanted. I had a collar bone length long bob and black virgin hair. I wanted a black to blonde ombré. When I got there Saturday afternoon, she told me she was excited all week about doing my hair. I have never had a stylist that has been really excited to do my hair.
The dyeing took approximately 2 – 3 hours, which I expected. By hour 2, I noticed she was getting tired, she had already skipped lunch and worked continuously through her shift. But she definitely held it together and I am so impressed. We chatted throughout the hair painting and she’s so fun to talk to. She really enjoys doing hair and she’s been doing it for a long time. She definitely knows what she’s doing when she’s doing balayages and ombres. Rather than going directly from black to a blonde, she suggested doing a gradual fade, which I was perfectly fine with. She also added some blonde face framing pieces that look really good.
After washing out the bleach/​dye and my hair dried, I was so shocked that it was so blonde. I was a little bit iffy about it, but I knew that it was because I just was’t used to having my hair so blonde, when I’ve really only had black hair my whole life. Angela was definitely happy with the outcome, she went through and explained why the color faded the way it did and how to style it.
The more I look at it, the more I like it. And now I love the what she has done. I’ve gotten numerous complements on my hair. I went to Florida recently and a girl I met asked me where I got it done. She was definitely disapointed when I told her the salon was all the way in California. It’s honestly really hard to find a good hair dresser that knows how to dye Asian virgin hair. My hair doesn’t feel damaged or anything. It’s definitely a bit thinner because of the bleach and a little tangled, but it’s not significantly damaged compared to straight up bleaching hair. Angela even curled my hair and the color was beautiful with the waves and curls. I paid $ 180 for the balayage and she even went out of the way to buy me lunch.
I am very impressed with Angela and I’ll definitely go back to Angela when I come back to San Jose.

Liz was my colorist. The location of the salon is a littl busy, but very nice outside and had a nice vibe. I came in with 6inch roots and the rest was blue hair. She stripped all the color out and blondified my hair! She asked if i would like water or coffee, i declined, but she was so sweet and super down to earth! She turned my doo into a fabulous red and pink pravana cocktail. My hair is still very healthy and the trim she gave me made me hair feel that much better and looks like it’s in so much better condition than it was previous to my appointment. When she washed my hair in the sink, felt like massage heaven, not too gentle not too rough, she’s very good at what she does, and i HIGHLY recommend you go to her for your fabulous dos! I’m so grateful! I was in desperate need of fixing my hair, and i couldn’t find anyone thay had decent prices that could got me in, she worked with me and was patient, she saved my life. I auditioned for the voice, and my audition went pretty good, and i had amszing vibrant and fresh hair!

Let me start off by saying that Angela is one of the sweetest people I’ve met. She took me in for a balayage ombré and I wanted my hair ashy brunette.
Two and a half hours later, boom my hair was balayaged but with very warm tones. After leaving the salon, I texted her that I was unhappy and she took me back the same day.
When I went back, I asked her to go lighter and ashy and that I didn’t want warm tones in my hair. She then foiled about a quarter of my head and asked me how blonde I wanted to go. I naively assumed my hair couldn’t possibly turn super blonde (level 8 or 9) and I went along with her recommendation for whatever toner she wanted to use. I was very, very wrong. My hair lifted very well (virgin hair) and I was super super blonde. I was appalled by my hair. 75% was dark brown with 25% blonde streaks. I was so upset but Angela was so excited about her work, I couldn’t bear to tell her how much I hated it.
Long story short, the communication between us wasn’t clear enough and I ended up with streaky blonde highlights. I’m sorry Angela, you are the sweetest person but next time I will make sure my communication is crystal clear

I hella lagged this review. Lol so I had dark virgin hair that I wanted to change to a balyage ombré. I told Angela that I wanted to keep my base natural & have platinum tips. I showed her some pics to kinda give her the idea that I wanted the balyage/​ombré to blend really well. I asked her if she was able to get the results like I showed her in the pics & she said yes! The first session I came home with nothing that I wanted… I mean yes I was blonde but the bottom half of my hair was all black for some reason. I love it regardless lol, but it wasn’t my set goal. So I texted her & told her what I wanted again, which is my whole bottom half ALL blonde. She was nice enough to squeeze me back into her tight schedule for a second session. However, I came out with dark strands still in my bottom half… When I was in the shop I was convinced that it looked good already & I was content. Only to come home & realize it’s still not my original goal. So I texted her again! I told her I didn’t want ANY dark streaks in my bottom half, I wanted ALLLL blonde. She was super understanding & squeezed me in for a third session. She began to pick out the dark strands which I felt really bad about bc it was so time consuming & I know it must be frustrating to pick out the dark strands one by one bc of fear of overlapping the blonde. BUT ANYWAY, I came out with more blonde in my hair, but some dark streaks were still there. Which bothers me a lot but I understand that it was a difficult task. Bottom line, go to Angela because she is soooo sweet & easy to talk to. But make sure that she understands exactly what you want.

I didn’t cut my hair for 4 years and spontaneously decided to get a cut! It was a little last minute, but Angela found the time to fit me into her schedule on a Friday. I had long, straight hair and wanted to get layers, so I could style my hair with a wavy look.
I don’t usually trust people with my hair, but I took a risk and it was definitely worth it! Angela was super sweet and talented! I showed her a photo of what I wanted and she made it happen. Before I came in, I had a bayalage color and after she styled my hair, you could see the color way better than before. I’m feeling my new do! Thanks, Angela! :)

I’ve been debating whether i wanted to give this review or not because Angela was literally the sweetest. She is so kind, accommodating, and the store is really clean and pretty.
What she did to my hair wasn’t horrible, but it was not what I wanted at all.
I came in with a previous soft black to brown ombré and showed her a picture of how I wanted my hair. It was hair that was all brown and with light ombré/​balayage going on. Angela then proceeded to tell me there were two routes I could go. «There are two routes I can go with this, each will give you the result you are looking for!» And of course I opted for the cheaper route, and was too nervous to ask what the difference was. I noticed her putting bleach on just certain parts of my hair on my roots and began to get nervous. When she washed my hair and took out the foils I was left was bright yellow highlights against black hair. I was terrified, she felt my discomfort while I told her I was not going for the «black against blonde» look and told me she could tone my hair so it would blend in better. She then continued to tell me she told me I took this route. And in my mind I thought I messed up but later on remembered she didn’t explain ANY of this. She told me it would look like the picture either way. Knowing this I would have paid more, much more for it to have been done right. After toning it was still blonde against black. Being nervous and after her ensuring me it looked great I convinced myself that it looked good walking out and that I should love it considering I paid 200 and something for it. When I got home I felt like crying. When I actually looked in the mirror the blonde highlights didn’t even blend in with my previous ombré. She didn’t take the color out of my ombré so the blend of the highlights (ashy blonde highlights) into my orange brownish ombré.
Even my friends noticed it right when they saw me and tried to hold in what they thought was wrong.
I just think I wasted $ 200 and I was too shy to even speak up about it.

I had my hair done by Angela and I have to say it’s the first time I felt like I had pretty hair! I have been dying my hair since I was 12 and I haven’t found anyone yet who has made my hair look the way I explain it! She does a very good job and makes sure it is what u want I have finally found my hair stylist!:):)

I am so satisfied with the result! This place is so neat and everybody is just so sweet. I made an appointment with Angela (btw she’s so wonderful, highly recommend to make an appointment with her) i told her EXACTLY how i want my hair. My hair is extremely dark, i wanted to do something different & get an ombré with really blonde tips. I figured since my hair is really dark it would be hard to get the blonde that i wanted, but i was so wrong! She did an amazing job! She knew exactly how to blend black to blonde, took her time to make sure everything was perfect and i couldnt be any more happier with my hair!
I mean all the previous comment had an amazing experience in this salon, there is really nothing negative thing to say about this place, they’re also very affordable, unlike most salon, they will actually will work with you and wont sugarcoat any price range.

I’ve been wanting to get my hair done for some time. I met Angela at my work I asked her about her hair she told me she was a hair dresser I wen I’m for a consultation and I loved what she had to say and I have her my idea of what I wanted. I came in the next day she did AMAZING! I love my hair. Out of all the times I’ve gotten my hair done I’m never happy but this time I absolutely love it. I made my monthly visit to freshen my colour and clean up my ends. This is the second month going with my balayage ‘sombre’. I was a little hesitant at first because I thought ombré was too trendy now and I wanted to keep my hair dark to give it a break from bleach. But I gave in, I trust Angela always. Blondes have more fun, right?
I have the best of both worlds. Instead of an ombré, we did a sombre. subtle ombré. She kept my base dark and hand-​placed the ombré so it went from a toasty caramel to warm gold. She also added some face framing highlights. I adore these highlights and her placement. It’s perfect. She finished my hair with side swept bangs and some long layers to lighten the weight of my long hair, add depth, add volume and enhance the ombré effect.
Angela does an amazing job judging the right shade of blond for your complexion. She does it so well that I always have to have a little blonde. The crazy thing is that my hair looks healthier even with the bleaching. Trust her. Don’t end up with fried, damaged at-​home-​in-​your-​kitchen yellow blond bleach job. I had an amazing experience with Angela at MG Image this morning. Brought in a pic and it came out exactly the way I wanted it! All I could do was rant and rave that I so loved it! Didn’t even realize how much we even had in common! Omg!!! Check out my before and after pics. I went back to my hotel where I worked and the staff even Loved It. Even our Front Desk lead wanted Angela ‘s business card so she can check her out! Angela. you have made a huge impression on myself and my staff! Terrific stylist who knows her stuff!!!

I love my hair! Angela cut and styled my hair, and I love it! My hair was a medium length, but my split ends were atrocious! She layered and styled my hair beautifully!

After Angela chopped my hair off it hasn’t been the same since– growth wise. I don’t dare let anyone color my hair for the simple reason that my hair is already thin. When she took the time to do my hair it was chopped and super thinned out and it didn’t and still doesn’t look good on my hair. I pin my hair up for the fact that short hair does not suit me and as a professional stylist I think you would know that and show a client a hair style that will suit their face shape.
On top of it all, I wanted a permanent blow out and said she doesn’t do them for the fact that the chemicals are bad for her and me and that I shouldn’t do it at all.
I never did end up with a blow out because she did talk me out of it.

I have finally found the one hairstylist i really like! Norma Jean is awesome! Such a great personality and so skillful! She can listen and can make you beautiful!
