Miles Guyton, DDS

This man is a saint! I hesitated to write a review because I don’t think I am eloquent enough to do him justice. My 7 year old daughter had a very traumatic experience in the past with dentists. I never had a lot of money and after taking her to one of those dentists that lock your child in a room strap them down and not allow you to comfort them, she was VERY afraid. Because of her fears and her past experience I didn’t take her to a dentist consistently so I hate to admit it but her teeth were not in good shape. the staff were super kind. Dr. Guyton was so patient and even made my daughter laugh! there were no judgements and I was made to feel comfortable too. This guy is the mother Theresa of dentists who chose this profession to truly help people.

I have found the right dentist. Dr. Guyten has been my dentist for about 5 years. Normally I switch dentist due to some reason every couple of years. I finally found my family dentist when I was recommenced to him by a friend. Dr. Guyton is it for me and my family. When I needed a crown, it was done in ONE visit, he makes them at the office, no temporary crown, no return visit and the crown had been perfect for years. Both my children love him too. After going to Dr. Guyton for a couple of years, my teenage son told me that he never wants to see another dentist either.
Dr. Guyton gives you HIS cell number, not a stranger that you call with a problem. He goes out of his way to make sure his office has the most up-​to-​date equipment. His expertise in dentistry and his true concern for his client is what keeps me coming back.

Let me preface with the good. Dr. Guyton and his hygenist Linda are both really nice and great professionals. Their work is top notch and I have never found fault with a thing. This review doesn’t reflect their professionalism in any regard. I give them a ²⁄₅ because from a convenience and expense perspective they stink. Their receptionist is snooty and their hours are horrible. They’re only open Mon-​Thurs until 4:30 and never on Saturdays. Also they are always booked out for at least 3 months for appointments. Sure if you’re new, they’ll squeeze you in, but after that, good luck! Plus no way you can go in before or after work. If you miss an appointment, you’ll be lucky to get another 3 months later. Which makes those regular 6 months check ups kind of a pain. Also as far as billing goes every time they estimate a cost for some major procedure, its almost always 40−50% higher than what they say and you’ll wind up getting some big bill a few weeks later. The last time I had a crown replaced they estimated about $ 400 out of pocket and sold me on some expense material based on that quote. Then I get a bill later for $ 250 extra. Had I known it was going to cost $ 650, I would have went with the cheaper option. And that was the third time something like that happened. If you’re retired or you have no job and can be flexible with scheduling then maybe its worth your while, but for those of us who live in the real world, there are likely other dentists who are more convenient and just as professional.

I have been going to see Miles Guyton and my hygienist, Linda for over 6 years. Before Miles I was like everyone else. Scared of any Dentist! These folks are great and have been recommending since before Unilocal was ever here ;-)

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Guyton’s for over five years now. He and his staff are very professional and offer a friendly environment! I’ve gotten amazing results after getting Invisalign and have received preventive services as well… I’m one of those people that looks forward to see the dentist and if I don’t like a place I will change locations the same day. After five years, looks like I’ll be here awhile! I have to add that his hygienists do a spectacular job cleaning my teeth! They seem to all love what they do and it shows! I’ve changed ins. coverage a couple of times now, but refuse to join their in– network dentists. I’m a loyal patient that prefers quality over saving a few bucks. C’mon, it’s my teeth we’re talking about!

My experience with Dr. Guyton and his staff has been wonderful. The staff is efficient and friendly. My hygienist, Linda, is great and I have been seeing her for about ten years. Dr, Guyton is very personable and has a great sense of humor. If you must visit a dentist, and I learned all of us must, you can’t beat Dr. Guyton and his staff.

I’ve been going to Dr. Guyton’s office since he moved to S an Jose. He’s gentle and explains what he’s going to do. He makes replacement caps in the office all in one appt which is great when you are busy and can’t find time to come back for multiple appts. Linda the hygienist is great and understands daily stress.

Dr Guyton and team are professional, friendly, and passionate about dental health. They use state of the art technology, are up-​front about costs, and give full disclosure. Dr Guyton explains options and alternatives and doesn’t pressure you into expensive treatments… your health comes first, not his retirement! I had a porcelain restoration done in one sitting, very quickly, and fits perfectly. Very convenient, no multiple visits. I strongly recommend.

I went for whitening. Very professional, explained everything clearly, much easier than I expected. He uses technology well — showing me before and after digital photos, for example.
