Monsters of Rock

Place has a good selection, and fair prices, only reason for the three stars. However, not a fan of the place itself. I’m not sure if it’s my age or what but my friend and I didn’t receive much assistance when we went in, and the staff wasn’t very knowledgable of what they were selling. Prices and products were good but customer service was lacking.

Okay selection of juices and pieces, but the customer service is subpar. I went in to buy some juice and the kid working there was high as a kite. Normally I wouldn’t care about this, but I had to literally walk him through my purchase. When you’re at work, you should be able to do your job professionally, no matter what type of job it is.

i suggest nobody buys a drug test from monsters of rock. ok so i was sappose to do a drug test for marijuana for a interview for a moving company i got the fake liquid for testing the day before i followed all instructions and today the docter called said i was positive for marijuana. if i would of been on probation i could of went to jail for a dirty bottle wow
i was shocked so anybody who is trying to get fake test i suggest dont buy any of that from them they just want your money.

The owner of this «establishment» gave me some of the worst customer service I’ve ever seen. He wanted me to buy this really expensive piece. I wanted to buy another one that was more affordable. He at first just tried to convince me to get the other one but when I refused he literally got angry at me. Apparently here, the customer isn’t right unless they want to drop $ 300 on a stupid piece that works as well as a $ 30 one. Bottom line: this place is a rip off and the people there are rude. Go to Up in Smoke instead. It’s only a mile or so away with great merchandise and friendly employees.

Liars here always. you go to buy one small thing and they make you buy something else.e.g. you go there to buy a charger and the liar guy there tells you that your battery is dead and asks to buy a new one whereas the battery is fine. this type of behavior happened to me more than twice. he forcibly tries to convince you that your battery is dead. rude behaviour .when his lie was caught as some of his chargers were not working with his newly opened batteries, he got angry and refused to sell anything and raised his voice. disgusting! no customer consideration. bad bad bad guys. wish could give them negative stars.

Just got home after coming here for two consecutive days. I busted a part on my folks piece, so I came here last night to get replacements. Remind you, I haven’t purchased anything new, from any head shop, for about 5 years. Anyway, I got back, opened the items and inspected. They were pretty clean looking, but discovered a hairline crack in one of the glass parts, AND that they were the wrong size. I returned today to simply exchange for the same items, only the size that I needed. Needless to say, the main guy (slim guy, maybe the owner?) didn’t seem too excited that I was back and trying to exchange some items. Myself, and the people that were with me, continued to browse for something similar to the original that was in our hands. We found nothing, as we were given attitude and were further confused by the explanations of the guy helping us. He recommended another shop, as if he no longer wanted us in there. I’ve been coming here for years and have never been disrespected as a customer, until now. The guy was so irritated that he gave me a cash refund! Like dude, I’m gonna spend the money here anyway, just let me exchange it! Thank goodness I had to piss, just another reason to speed up our exit! Guess I’ll drive the extra 5 miles and go to Up In Smoke!

The girl that works there is so smoking hot I bought some shit I didn’t even need just to interact with her. Unbelievably beautiful. Nuff said.

They hold amazing pieces. Love the chameleon items. My favorite shop by far. Customer service is very professional, and they’re honest. The employees I’ve spoken to not only focus function, but they also explain their favorite aspects of the items you choose to look at. This helps you learn what you should be looking for. Due to the large selection and excellent overall viewing layout, this place is great for a collector who appreciate detailed glass artwork and colors.

This is a really good smoke shop prices are reasonable and staff is chill there the people at night are always helpful this is one of my favorite shops in san jo

I absolutely hate this place… At first it was cool, I been going to this place for about 3 YEARS and was a regular customer. But I’m not sure what happened over the years. My boyfriend and I would play rock paper scissors to see who would get the hookah tobacco because the owners were just rude. The only reason we even came to this shop is because the next one was in was almost an hour away round trip… What set me off was when he asked for my id… Mind you I been coming to this place for 3years they call Me by name and one guy jokes that I’m his girlfriend every time I walk in. so if you don’t remember your customers, the loyal ones at that. then that shows how important we are to them. I rather drive 10 more minutes to go to twilight zone then here

Don’t get ripped off.
Why is everything over priced here? My friend Came here for some hookah tobacco and it is priced 2 dollars more than any other hookah places we’ve been to.
He also bought a hookah mouth tip for $ 1 when he’s bought it there for 25cents before. JUST ONE TINY MOUTH PIECE. You can tell the two guys were trying to decide a price on it.
AND he once got charged twice on his credit card bill at this place. I’ll say he’s dumb for coming back.

I respect the hustle but come on. The place is already hella empty and kinda shady. you can’t be over charging people for things and expect people to come back (except for my dumb friend. Sorry Andrew)

Ok so I know that I am an older woman and not as hot as I was in the day but you don’t have to treat me like dirt, I am looking for something in particular and stop in the shop, the guy behind the counter was looking at me like what are you doing in here old lady, blew it off and after oh I don’t know about 15 minutes he said looking for something, I described what I was looking for he looked at me and walked away, I thought he was going to find me something and I looked and he just started restocking. to be honest I was embarrassed and shocked… never did buy anything I don’t think I will go back… wow

Awesome smoke shop and they have thousands of items in their display lacks.
I never seen this large shop in San Jose. All workers are enough professional and service very satisfy. Never hesitate to answer for any inquiries. but no more piercing. I recommend this very strongly.

Place is OK. There was this fat dude working there with that fat tough guy complex. You know the type that THINK theyre tough cause theyre 300lbs. Theyre about as tough as they look… a dork in a sumo costume. The front part of the store is pointless. I went in the back where the glassware is located and was helped by an Indian gentleman. He was nice. I accidentally broke a glass screen and he let it go. Not very knowledgeable though. 2 stars for having what i wanted at the time but not a very good selection. Paramount Imports is WAY better.

I have been to multiple Monsters shops and I like them all. The employees at Monsters don’t judge you, which is always nice. Usually I will walk into a head shop and the workers there will automatically assume I’m looking to spend 10 bucks on a throwaway (pink) piece when in actuality, I walked in there to drop bills on a sturdy 3 footer. Monsters often times wins my money because they treat me right. I’ll definitely be coming back :)

«WARNING!!! If you buy something there make sure your going to keep it. Because they won’t let you return it or will give you a hard time when you try to return it. When I tried to return something they gave me a whole bunch of attitude and where very rude! I will not shop there anymore and support their Business.

they got a decent supply of things and the prices are alot cheaper than other shops. the guys there do flirt but thats no where diff from anywhere else. cheap stuff is what i come for. i never got a peircing here i got my own peircer but i have heard good things about him.

I’m glad someone else mentioned how awesome the piercer is, because he is a gem. He’s not only a great piercer who knows what he’s talking about, but he’s really friendly which sadly isn’t very common of most piercers. (That I’ve been to, anyway). Monsters of Rock is actually a great store, in my opinion. I’ve never had a weird vibe off the place. The guys that work there are just your normal smoke shop owners. They’ve always been friendly to me, anyway.

Yet another smoke shop.
Just what we need. The people that work there, are old fat guys that just wait for hot pieces of ass to walk in so they can stare them down until they leave. The piercer is cool if you don’t mind his fangs and dreads. The store is out dated and is cluttered with miscellaneous stuff (you’re a smoke shop not a hot topic). Its small and unorganized and I couldn’t tell where anything was. They did have a small nice display of smoking products, in the back which is located behind a bandanna that drapes over the door opening which blends in with all the clutter, so you would never know it was there. They also have products hidden. So if you want your «Oil burners» Make sure to ask because they are not displayed at all. This is an ok place, weird location and smells funky.

UPDATE– If I could give them less then one star I would… and this is why!!!
I have a few… What did the Body Piercer look like? Also he said those exact words? They charged $ 25 that seems strange because they charge 35 hun

Oh! Well it was a while ago I really don’t think the dude that did it is still there. All I know is that he charged $ 25 for her nose and he was a total dirt bag.
I dont remember what he looked like… does it matter? and yes he said those words.
Why does any of this matter to you?

I didnt see any manager in there, all I saw was a dirtbag and some creapy dudes hanging out… I didn’t mention that the place is dirty, in a shit part of town, has creepy old men in there that make you want to bathe when you leave the place or that I have seen kids smoking a bowl right out side HONEY!
This is a public site to tell people how you feel about places you have visited. I wrote about my experience there… If you are the manager then you are doing a piss poor job and maybe that isn’t your calling. If you dont like the things I write then go read someone elses reviews. I have wasted as much of my time as Im going to with you… you can go piss up a rope for all I care!
I remember the good old days when this store was cool with some fat stoner hanging out behind the counter… Awww the Good Old Days!
Now it’s dirty and run by creepy guys that are just standing around staring you.
So I guess they have a new piercing guy there which is great cause the last guy was rank. I took my 14 year old daughter in to get her nose pierced… I should have known it wasn’t gonna be good since he was only charging $ 25. Ok hind site is a glorious thing I know.
Anyway, I had both my daughter and her friend there with me and the skeez looks at me and asks if I want my nipples pierced! LOL He did offer me a bargain… Good thing my bf wasn’t with me; he would have knocked out the last 3 teeth this guy had!
Certainly not a place I will go back to anytime in the near future.
