Muhusin Family Dental is a new, family-​friendly dental office conveniently located near the Westgate Shopping Center in West San Jose.

At Muhusin Family Dental, we strive to provide all our patients with the most comprehensive and gentle dental care using the latest and safest dental materials to help you meet your dental needs and achieve your best smile.

We hope to inspire our patients to become an active participant in improving their dental and overall health through education and instruction.

Dr. Tykeisha M.

Business Owner

As the eldest of four children, it was only natural for Dr. Tykeisha Muhusin to pursue a career in the healthcare industry. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Premed-​Biology from Loyola University Chicago and completed her DDS degree at UCSF School of Dentistry.

Dr. Muhusin’s primary goal is to serve the community to the best of her abilities by providing all patients with comprehensive, compassionate, and competent dental care. She hopes to inspire patients to become an active participant in the improvement of their oral health through education and instruction.

Dr. Muhusin is dedicated to continued education in the field of Dentistry and plans to attain certification in the Invisalign Orthodontic system, Bone Grafting, Implant placement and Implant Restorations.

When Dr. Muhusin is not busy with her patients, she enjoys baking, scrapbooking and working out. She lives with her husband and daughter in San Francisco.

I went to this facility last year to get cleaning done as a new patient because my husband recommended it (we were shopping for a new dentist). Everything was OK (simple cleaning) until several months later.
We ended up moving and no longer being in this area. When we went to our new dentist for another cleaning, they recommended to have our x-​rays sent over as we decided not to do any there since we had them done with this dentist. We spoke with Dr. Muhusin and she confirmed that she would send it over as we gave her both email address and phone number to fax it to. We checked on our way out and the front office confirmed they didn’t get anything yet. I called Dr. Muhusin the next day to see if she maybe forgot? When she answered she didn’t seem thrilled and simply said, «I’ll send it again.» She was not apologetic nor understanding of other people’s time. I didn’t know what the problem was since x-​rays are apart of a patients records and she was paid for her services. My husband and I were shocked as well as the entire office! Long story short — I checked with my new dentist that week and they confirmed yet again that Dr. Muhusin did not send the x-​rays. Now, it’s been a couple months later and the office has called Dr. Muhusin and left her a message as well. Nothing! Needless to say — Dr. Muhusin’s behavior is not professional. I wonder if she knows it is LEGAL to have x-​rays and paperwork sent over by permission and or something written?
I completely do not recommend this dentist at all due to these awful circumstances and inconsistencies.
Note: Never go through Groupon for any doctor!

Dr. Muhusin is an amazing person and a very professional dentist. She is honest and will never treat something you don’t have, she analyzes your case deeply and recommends options for your budget and timing. Dr. Muhusin’s office is always clean and everything is structured. I usually ask a bunch of questions and she answers with no rush and very-​very friendly and elaborately.
My daughter was very comfortable with Dr. Muhusin as well (we had our first check up). Highly recommend!

Unbelievable Dr. Muhusin she is an amazing Dentist,
she clearly loves her job and really takes care of all her patients, she will provide you with excellent service, fast and easy super affordable prices, Excellent job definitely and Highly recommended.
Also she will give you Free bag of goodies after full cleaning and whitening service. I’m very impressed with her job, anybody who wants or needs something fast well done. came here.

This has been hands down the best experience I have ever had at a dentist’s office!
Dr. Muhusin is friendly and very professional.
I booked an appointment easily online and got email and text reminders of my appointment. The office is clean, and I was greeted immediately upon arrival. I arrived 10 minutes early and was seen promptly at my appointment time. I received a very thorough exam and cleaning and was extremely impressed with my visit. Dr. Muhusin was very caring, knowledgeable and patient.
I would highly recommend her if you are looking for a dentist for yourself or your family.

10 Stars! I not only got an awesome cleaning but a free mouth cancer screening and a bag full of goodies! Honestly GREAT person she is! She was not pushy at all didn’t try to upsale me anything at all. Was very caring and genuine about my oral health and she was very gentle (I have sensitive gums). VERY HONEST woman told me I had no cavities which I don’t (my cousin is a dentist too in my home city, so I see him whenever I go am back for the holiday’s. That’s how I know) but it’s funny because half a year ago I saw another dentist who SWORE I had 3 cavities (he was an Asian dentist money hungry). I said no thanks I’ll get a second opinion and true thing I went home and my cousin said I had nothing. Some dentists just want to CHARGE money and will lie or find any little thing to «fix» that needs NO fixing. But Dr. Muhusini (spelling?) is an ACTUAL honest dentist! Those are hard to find! 10 stars to her. Clean, nice small office, very relaxing atmosphere; she put music for me. Great SERVICE! I will be back!

Dr Muhsine she is amazing Dr. Really patient with you, give you extra time, she knows what she is doing, I went to her clinic to clean my teath i bought the normal cleaning coupon and she did a deep cleaning and give me num without charging me extra she has passion to her job, she has a good customer service, she know how to talk to patients, her clinic is so cute and comfortable i recommend you vist her you will get surprised from her excellent work.

The office is super clean and quiet. I was greeted by Dr. Muhusin herself and was taken care of right away. She did a thorough exam and answered all my questions. She did not try to sell me unnecessary and expensive procedures which most dentists do. I went home satisfied. Great value for money!

Today I finally mustard up the nerve to go to the dentist. I have so much anxiety it is hard for me to even sit in a dentist chair without having a panic attack! I’ve been to so many dentist in the past years and bone of them are like Dr. Ty! She is very caring and wants you to feel comfortable. It really felt like I was at home and not the dental office. Dr. Ty tells you what needs to be done and not push you into everything that you really don’t need. I think I just found my permanent dentist! Thank you Dr. Ty

Dr Ty has five stars in my book right now. My first visit was last week. I brought my son and mother as we are all new patients. Dr muhusin took the time to answer all our questions and concerns. She is honest, funny and listens. She works well on your teeth, not heavy handed or rough. More visits to come.

Dr. Muhusin is a great doctor. She took time to understand my needs and interacted with me about the issues in reference to my teeths. Most other dentists hurry to get their job done and wont educate you about your teeth’s but she was very relaxed and took time to educate me. I found her office to be very bright, sunny and soothing which was an added bonus. A+ service. I am definitely coming here next time.

Great overall experience with Dr. Muhusin. She is gentle and takes her time to complete her work and to share her knowledge and expertise. I like that she is honest and far from an opportunist; she recommended against certain procedures that I inquired demonstrating her investment into patient well-​being. Past experiences with other dentists felt rushed, she was a welcome change of pace — relaxed and conversational. Love the music, ambiance, top floor view, and abundance of natural sunlight. Coupled with a friendly staff created a warm atmosphere. Always a plus to share laughs — and we shared a lot (and no, not laughing gas). Teeth came out extra clean, can’t wait for the whitening!

Dr. Tykesia is awesome. Takes her time in doing all her dental work. My teeth wree not so great but after coming to her for the first time she managed to get all the nasty «gunk» out. Highly recommend he. I also usually don’t post much Unilocal reviews but she was so good and knowledgeable in her practice I decided too. Get in touch with her. It will be the only place you want to go for your dental work!
