Our tutoring center is comprised of talented educators who work hard to make sure your children understand what they learn in school, build new skills, and gain confidence.

Often, challenges in school create stress or arguments in the home, in relationships, and in extracurricular activities. Navigate Learning addresses the whole child so that students overcome emotional family and school situations. Families rely on us to lessen the daily arguments that homework and studying can bring.

We are also available to bridge the gap between school and home, meeting with teachers, checking grades, and reporting home if needed.

Established in 2009.

The founder and owner, Emily, is a credentialed teacher who worked as a middle and high school teacher for 5 years before opening Navigate Learning. Her efforts to engage struggling students across the academic subjects provide the broad base the business is built on. Students of all learning styles and strengths will find a comfortable environment to thrive.

Emily D.

Business Owner

Emily is a passionate educator and lifelong learner who strives to be an advocate for every student. She helps struggling students raise grades, get organized, and gain confidence in and out of the classroom. She is outgoing, personable, and compassionate with significant experience working with people of all ages, backgrounds, beliefs, and goals. She is a member of AAUW.

She earned a BA from Tufts University, an MA in Teaching from CUNY Brooklyn College, and a California Teaching Credential. Her classroom experience includes 5 years in public middle schools and high schools in New York City and San Jose. She taught mainly Social Studies but also held classes in Math, Science, English, and even PE! This diversity makes her uniquely suited to help students across their studies.

Emily tutors middle school through college and also works closely with college-​bound students to choose the right schools to fit their unique needs and goals.
