This is truly one of the best and most honest tree service companies around! I was referred by a neighbor and very impressed with the crew and work they performed. Manny is the sales manager and works within your budget. He will also help provide recommended future service — kind of like a consultant. Manny and his crew were Awesome, my husband and myself were very pleased with his work, and not being extremely expensive, and also cleaning up after themselves. Our tree in the back yard was an code red, and any day, it would have fell and cause lots of damage to our home and neighbor. Finding Manny on Unilocal,and getting back to us quickly, and coming out quickly to our home, I couldn’t be any pleased. We truly recommended his services, we do plan to keep his number for future services. Thank you Manny and team!

Manny and his crew are AMAZING!!! We had a huge hill in our back yard with 22 really really tall and really really dry Juniper trees that needed at least 4 feet trimmed off them, dead trees from years of drought, dead ivy, an out of control pepper tree leaning toward our swimming pool, and a bunch of dead grass for a lawn. In just 2 DAYS, they completely trimmed, topped, raked, extracted, and cleaned up our yard and made it look BRAND NEW!!! Not only that, they chipped and hauled away ALL the mess! I was feeling so sorry for them when they started their work in our yard because it was such a mess, but it is SO BEAUTIFUL now, I am still in shock. Now we can hire them again to landscape for us. Manny and his team did an excellent job with our yard clean-​up! He came out to give me an estimate the same day that I called, gave a fair price for quality work. He really knows what he’s doing, and had advice about caring for our many trees as well. The team that did the work was efficient and even blew the dust and leaves off the driveway when they were done! Highly recommend Manny !!

Manny and his crew did a beautiful job with our trees. Manny is deeply knowledgeable and was very generous with his advice. His team took great care with the way they pruned the trees, artfully keeping privacy concerns balanced with a thorough and practical pruning. Their attention to detail was terrific, plant spacing and clean-​up was perfect.

Manny was prompt in getting to us for an estimate, which was lower than others. We found him to be very knowledgeable on the various trees on our property. He was able to tell us that a beetle was eating our Monterrey pine, which was removed skillfully by Manny’s crew.
We look forward to working with Manny again — our date palm needs to be «pineappled», and we are sure that the results will be spectacular — as he performed the same cut on our neighbor’s trees.

I was referred to Norma’s Tree Service by a coworker, and was given the contact information for Manny (408) 849‑2358, and he agreed to come our right away to speak with me in regards to what needs to be done. So we had an estimate for 2 palm trees and the removal of a walnut tree for over $ 2000 by another company, and wanted to check out this company instead.
He came and did an estimate for 4 palm trees, trimming of 5 additional trees, removal of the walnut tree and grinding of the stumps for WAY LESS than $ 2000 but doing WAY MORE. I immediately asked him to do it over the weekend and he said that didn’t need me there for them to do the job, which is cool.
Well I came anyway, and by the time that I came, they have already finished most of the work and did a FANTASTIC job. Not only that, but I got to speak with Manny and it turns out, he’s a pretty neat fella. Lots of personality, life stories and advice to give.
The company is family owned and operated which is great.
I couldn’t be happier with the service and price. Our property looks great and I definitely recommend them!

I found Manny’s number (408−849−2358) based on a review on Unilocal and contacted him… He was quick to resposd, came the very same day and provided estimates on removing the tree and also pruning the lemon tree… Price was reasonable and the job was completed within couple of days… Job nicely done, I’m extremely satisfied with the work and would definitely use his service again…

We hired Manny to do our back yard, we agreed on terms and he started the job. From day one we realized that all he was after was to make as much money as possible while doing the least amount of work. He simply lacks integrity, honesty and decency. The sprinkler system he put in place was mickey mouse job at best. He did not plant all the plants and had promised and he never upheld the 3 months guarantee that was included in the price. Half the plants he planted died after a few weeks (perhaps because of bad sprinkler system). He never came back to replace them.
I wouldn’t hire him again and I strongly recommend against hiring Manny for any jobs

Manny and his crew were recommended by our neighbor. We have many variety of trees from flowering plums, oaks, fan palm, walnuts and almonds. They cleared out suckers, mistletoe and dead limbs. His crew took out a few dead trees and made wood chips out of those. Good for weed control. They did a great job and we would use them again for tree maintenance. The other neighbor liked his work on our property that she hired him!

Thumbs up to Manny Ruiz and his crew! We needed our tree removed and to plant a new one per City’s permit requirements. I received several estimates but Manny gave me the lowest price. He even offered to pick up our new tree from the nursery. He was recommended to me by my co-​worker and I’m thankful I found them! The crew arrived 30 minutes earlier than the agreed time, which I was impressed.
As there would be some digging involved in planting a tree and as required by law, Manny went out of his way to help me call USA North to identify and mark the location of utilities. And he didn’t ask for extra compensation for his time!
I highly recommend Manny and his crew. They are professional, on time, and helpful.

Happy customer of Norma’s. I needed to have two trees trimmed and one removed so I found Norma’s on Unilocal.I called late one day and Manny was here to give me a quote the next day. They arrived at the time requested and they were very efficient. I am happy with the work they did and will be using them again.

I hired Norma’s to clean up 10 palm trees, two of which are 40 plus feet high. When I came out to check on the work, I discovered the workers had used spikes to scale my palm trees, leaving a bunch of gouges in them!
I thought that was the worst of it; I specifically asked that they not trim a tree in my front yard and to my surprise, they basically gave it a crew cut.
They seem capable but you have to watch every move they make and to me, that’s just not reasonable.

Norma’s to service came to cut my trees. I have it done every year in the fall. They did such a good job I’m going to recommend them to my neighbors who also need their trees cut because their leaves keep falling in my yard. I highly recommend that you try them.

I had a over grown front yard with ivy and junipers that were ugly and dying. With Manny’s expertise he turned my front yard into a beautiful landscape. He provided a new look with trees, plants, lights and flowers. We are so pleased and so are my neighbors. While the process was going on we had so many people stop by with compliments to his work. I hired Norma’s last year to trim a tree behind my house that was dropping branches on my head. They did my tree for a very reasonable price, and actually did a decent job of trimming it — unlike some of the other trees I’ve seen that just get cropped off at any old place, he took his time and decided the best places to cut. Also did trees for the neighbors on both sides of me. They are polite, neat, and do a great job for a reasonable price. Can’t go wrong with Norma’s!

I have a lot of city trees surrounding my house. One in particular was over grown and in need of a good cleaning out. These guys were on time and very professional. Not only did they clean it out they shaped it perfectly.
They did such a good job that my neighbor stopped by and asked for their number. She was impressed at the job they did and how clean they were. I will definitely will use Norma’s tree service again.

We got 3 bids, Norma’s was right in the middle and said they could do everything we wanted. Not so…
The crew did an excellent job on removing 2 large front yard trees (camphor and pistachio) and trimming up 2 other trees (camphor and liquid amber).
However, in the bidding stage Manny said he would be able to remove a root that was over our water main. I reconfirmed ahead of time over the phone about the root removal. Manny assured me they would be able to remove it. But when the time came, the guy that was grinding roots wouldn’t touch it. Too risky. And Manny said they didn’t have the equipment to cut the root out and to have our landscaper do it — which would be me!
Another caution, Manny tried to get me to keep all the stump grindings. What? Wasn’t that part of the bid, to remove all of the that? Manny made it sound like a favor to me to haul it away.
All in all, the crew did a great job, especially on the clean up. But be careful in the bidding stage — get everything in detailed writing so Manny can’t come back and say that they can’t do it.

I’ve used Norma’s Tree Services on 2 occasions. The first time was about 3 years ago, when we had to remove a large pine tree that was growing right next to our pool. I was impressed with the professional way in which the men who work at Norma’s climbed this tree with their large chain saws and made it disappear. Although I can’t verify this, they claim that they have a license and are fully insured. Certainly they use plenty of safety equipment and seem highly competent.
Two months ago, I decided to call Norma’s again when our back yard trees had become severely overgrown. Israel, the leader of the team, showed up promptly to give an estimate. I had gotten another estimate from a different company suggested by my neighbor, but Israel’s estimate was almost 50% lower. Norma’s team of 5 men showed up on time on a Saturday with a chipper and spent all day reducing 10 large trees, 2 extensive hedges and a big wisteria arbor. A number of these trees were more than 40 feet high, but these guys strapped on their safety harnesses and shoe spikes and climbed them fearlessly. I spent the entire day with them, directing the work on each tree and hedge. By early afternoon, my 3-​car driveway was piled high with debris, which was soon fed into the chipper and trucked away.
One unfortunate thing happened near the end of the day, when we are all tired. A worker using a chain saw accidentally cut a major branch (call it branch A) on our wisteria arbor, which was feeding another lovely branch (call it branch B) that hangs outside our sliding glass door and provides us with a nice display of blue flowers every spring. I was really disappointed. However, Israel pointed out that branch B was connected to another fairly large wisteria branch (call it branch C) that had wrapped itself tightly around it for several turns before proceeding on its way. He claimed that the wisteria vine would continue to provide nutrients to branch B through this arrangement. Although I didn’t believe him, what he said turned out to be true! I now have a number of blossoms starting to emerge along branch B and couldn’t be happier.
The bottom line: Norma’s Tree Service provides excellent professional service at very reasonable prices.
