This place is a classic for me! I used to bring my flannel wearing, ripped jeans having, skate board holding self here as a teen on the hunt for new blacklight posters, incense and rock tees with whatever coinage I had jingling around in my cargo pockets. The place still smells the way it always has and I love that the art on the outside always changes and supports local artists! The guy behind the counter when we went recently was SO cool! Great customer service and super polite, just an all around cool guy. Wish I got his name to give him more credit but you ROCK \m/\m/, seasoned gentleman with the dred like hair behind the counter guy! We will return to Paramount Imports as long as there is rock ‘n’ roll and THAT guy behind the counter! —air guitar!–

Best shop, for the amazing selection and especially the excellent service. The employees are very well versed in the entirety of their merchandise. They form great relationships with loyal customers and it’s a sick place to stop into and check out.
Not just a smoke shop– amazing gems jewelry incense clothes and trinkets.
You could spend hours in paramount and not see everything they have to offer!

Walking in, you’re greeted with smell of incense and hella posters slash shirts. If you have time, definitely peep EVRRYTHING! As you walk further in, you see all the glass and attachments and anything we 710 – 420 friendly people might need to go with our sessions. I came in for a dab tool because I misplaced my $ 2 one from the flea market. I paid $ 13 flat for this after being presented with 3 lids of em. It’s pricy but when you need it, you need it!
My first time here, it was in the spring when they held something similar to a garage sale in the way back of the parking lot. I got a couple steals including a black lotus candle holder, hella screens for my pipes, even bought my own pipe (dad gave me my first) that at I at first thought was a lil golf club, but ended up being a sparkly flame at the end of the bowl (to represent the fire tree that would be packed in of couuurse) that I broke shortly after. It was some months but I was coming out of my old jeep and it was on my lap then **shattered** damnit
They’re open til 10! All in all I always find what I’m looking for.

I’ve been here a handful of times now, and after the last visit I just won’t ever go back. The customer service is terrible, I have no idea why they treat me so suspiciously and standoffish. Maybe they think I’m an undercover cop because i don’t look like the typical stoner/​hippie/​pothead that works there. It’s frustrating to be treated like you’re not a real customer, so I’ll gladly take my business to the plethora of other smoke shops with helpful employees who don’t give half ass answers to my questions and cut me off whenever I refer to a water pipe as a ‘bong’. IM NOT AN UNDERCOVER COP!!! Relax!!!

This is probably the 10^th time I’ve been here. And the last. Greg/​Craig is so unpleasant to not only look at, but to interact with. I just needed a simple torch. He pointed to them. I asked if they had warranties he said «some»
So I defffffff recommend some personal hygiene corrections and a class about working with people.

Love this place! Come here often looking for cool little nick nacks. They have cool tapestries and nice candles and a huge selection of incense. People who work here are extremely friendly and polite. They are knowledgable about all their products and are very helpful when answering questions. I come here a lot and love it!

Great fun nifty little store! I consider this one of San Jose’s gems.
It’s a LOT more than a smoke shop! And the prices are one of the best locally!

This place is just phenomenal. A gem of San Jose. Every time I am summoned here by the frequent tingling of wonderment in my toes (which is quite often, and I don’t even use deluxe smoking devices anymore), the atmosphere smells, feels, and looks warm and inviting. There isn’t much parking, but I have never seen the lot full. The outside is aesthetically pleasing, as well as the inside. Oh, and it’s across the street from an art supply store! The service is memorable and those providing it are generous and knowledgeable. I finally, after much consideration, purchased a singing bowl from them today. Lee gave me a couple of handcrafted incense sticks to try out, just as a «Thank you» for my purchase. Not to mention, we shared authentic conversation. Love the guy. The smell of the resin incense is alluring and they are made with 100% natural resins/​oils. I also forgot the name of the man who makes them. I have purchased much incense here before, and have yet to be disappointed. I am patiently awaiting the arrival of an order of Palo Santo sticks. Anyhow, they have awesome jewelry, mystical and spiritual tools and products, rad posters, ornate glass, funny bumper stickers, mortars and pestles, stones and crystals, cards, and some hip clothing. Oh, and a nice man by the name of Wayne (Name?), who is always there with his cat. By the end of my journey around the store and a nice small chat with the employees about American Cigarettes today, this man Lee rolled me a cig of American Spirit tobacco, a nice rice paper, and a filter, ftw. Go here!
Update: They have Palo Santo resin right now. On your marks, get set, GO!!!

Came here looking for 300 pack of RAW rolling papers. They had it! They actually carry a large variety of rolling paper. I also bought a metal grinder for $ 8…it works great!

I seriously love this place!!! They have the best selection of essential oils and insense. Definitely going back!!!

I *love* this place, I could seriously lose my whole paycheck in here! They have a great selection of water pipers, vapes, assorted accessories for super reasonable prices with knowledgeable staff. On the other side of the store, you have clothes, jewelry, incense, posters, tshirts…
The shop is quite large and clean with a cat wandering around… The have a private lot that is easy to get into, but difficult to get out of, great hours, convenient location…

Great shop that has been here forever.
For the size, you would expect more inventory, but it’s nice. Lots of open floor space Lots on the walls to look at. Some clothing, incense, etc. Was hoping to get some Tibetan prayer flags, but they were $ 25 and I couldn’t convince myself. Prices are great, as well. Employees are nice.
The outside of the building is pretty. The inside is well done also.
Will be back!

One of the South Bays longest running stores for all kinds of fun gifts and smoking accessories. Great staff, who are very knowledgeable, and a great selection! They almost always have what you’re looking for!

Staff, merchandise and owner are all kick ass. I’ve been coming here for 15yrs. It’s been getting better and better. I love the expansion on the metaphysical inventory. I constantly stock up on incense here. I love the abundant amount of band shirts, especially for the metal scene. Sometimes I come and hang out with some of the staff and talk about whatever. I love when the owner brings in her dog and sometimes there is a cat that hangs about. I love love love how the store smells because they burn incense in the shop.
The only negative things about this place is the parking and the bathroom.

Super friendly staff and great selection of all types of pieces. Didn’t buy anything but definitely will be back in the future.

I had a really great experience today when going in to buy a new water pipe. The downstem on my pipe broke and I figured I could pop in to get a replacement. Instead of a replacement I found a whole new piece… a massive upgrade. I figured that not replacing the downstem was like getting 10% or more off and the new piece is so much thicker and durable that I bet it’d outlast 2 – 3 of the cheaper ones. The service was really good.
Paramount has a lot of cool stuff and it’s a fun place to browse, though I didn’t really do much of that today.
I like to be shown what I ask to see without salesman-​upselling or pressure. If I’m unclear about something I will ask. I’ve had previous positive experiences with the person who helped me (I believe his name is Greg: dark curly hair, a bit of grey in the beard, thin/​tall, has worked there a long time) and today was about as good as it gets.

I was also very impressed with the care taken to wrap the glassware in protective material; he did a fantastic job of it. He even wrapped the stem and the piece separately, which was awesome. I’ve had the «unwrap a new piece and the stem goes flying… (tinkle, tinkle)… OMG DID IT BREAK???» experience and it sucks. Fortunately I got lucky last time but this time luck wasn’t a factor. My purchase was extremely well wrapped/​prepared for transit.
I was thinking about taking a picture of the awesome wrap job when I got home but I was too eager to use it. Sorry (but not that sorry)! ;)

Love this place! Their staff is incredibly friendly in a very genuine way. They have a ton of glass, if that’s your thing. I go there for incense, candles and the like. They have some amazing oil burners for very reasonable prices. I got a stone one with elephants! I want to come back to check out their jewelry sometime soon.
The parking lot is super awkward, but I’m not gonna remove stars for that since they’ve been in the same location forever, and it almost adds to the charm. This is a great, old fashioned head shop that always brings a smile to my face.

Great place, there is a ultra chill vibe here. The workers are cool and the prices are super reasonable. You get a throwback vibe when you walk in. Most game retailers are usually filled with gape (not necessarily a bad thing) but it’s cool in that you can go and buy juice, equipment and other recreational items. What I find that is unique to this place is you will NOT find pizzos (glass pipes for meth) keeps the store classy. Not judging, but it is classy. Cute girls, great juice, hippie vibe, what is not to love. Right next to public transportation and a great place to shop for «other» items not easily found. Recommend for sure!

I stopped in at Paramount Imports after seeing the sign on my way to San Jose Harley-​Davidson. The mention of Black Lights and Black Light posters is what drew me in. Got me feeling all nostalgic and such.
I had a number of really cool Black Light posters hanging on the walls of my bedroom back when I was in high school. And while I no longer own any Black Light posters — they do make me smile. I went through their selection of Black Light posters and it brought back many memories.
They also sell other merchandise — which also reminded me of my high school days! :-)
