I think I just found my lifetime hairdresser. Trisha is amazing! I was late for the appointment, and I have a LOT of hair so I’m typically not the favorite customer when it comes to hair salons, but she was very patient and understanding. My haircut turned out to be way better than I imagined and my hair feels so so soft. Thank you Trisha!

Trisha is Amazing! I have been looking for her for 20 years! She made my weekend complete! My hair is fluffy and full of body. Love the relaxing glass of wine as I sit under the dryer too! A classy touch after a long day at work. The style she chose makes me feel a lot more assertive. Sexy is confidence!

This review is long overdue as well. Nancy has been doing my hair for the last 4 years at least, how time flies! I am very picky about finding a stylist because my hair is wavy and thick, and apparently too challenging for many stylists. When my previous stylist retired due to health issues, I was left high and dry. I found Nancy through a mutual friend and never looked back. She has been coloring my roots consistently every month and cutting my hair. She is one of the few stylists to whom I’ve been able to show a picture of a hairstyle and she can duplicate it perfectly.
I also followed her advice on a keratin treatment and wow, my hair was so wonderfully smooth. I will do it again soon to treat myself.
She is professional, thorough and takes her clients’ satisfaction seriously. I cannot recommend her enough.

This review is long overdue. Let me start by saying when it comes to hair and nails I have been to the majority of salons in Morgan Hill and San Jose. I am extremely picky. Nancy is absolutely amazing and extremely knowledgable when it comes to hair and beauty. I initially started going to Nancy for hair extensions which she is nothing less than a perfectionist and amazing at. I decided to stop the hair extensions and had her do an ombré which I was completely panicked about. Of course Nancy did exactly what I wanted and I am beyond happy with it. Nancy isn’t a hair stylist who can only do good color, or a good cut. She does it all and she does it all to perfection. Nancy has also done a couple of spray tans for me which have turned out perfect.
I am really surprised Nancy doesn’t have an overload of reviews. She is always busy but also very accommodating.

I had a TownHog coupon for a keratin smoothing treatment at Nancy Carpenter (now Reynolds) — Park Ave. Salon. I was a little skeptical about how well it would work on my hair, since it is very thick, coarse, and wavy. I had the treatment done in mid-​June and was really pleased. It lasted well through early September, which is exactly how long Nancy had estimated. It was so nice to not have to travel in the summer with a hot carpet of hair on my head. My hair remained still very smooth, very manageable and easy to dry and style. I bought the Keralyze shampoo, conditioner and blow-​dry solution, which compliment the smoothing treatment and I’m sure they make a difference. I really love the way my hair responded to this line and my hair does not respond well to most anything! Thank you, Nancy. I’ll definitely be back.

I have followed Nancy to 3 different salons — I like her work that much! I am very excited that she now has her own spot!
I always am happy with Nancy’s work. She is focused, listens to what I want, and does great hair! She also has an INCREDIBLE memory. I mean, I don’t know if she writes down notes on a card and studies them right before I come in (and even if she did, it would speak volumes to her dedicated customer service). But she always remembers what my story is and what is going on with me. I have had a few hair dressers who make annoying small talk and I repeat myself every time I go in. It is nice to be able to have someone actually listen. But she also doesn’t talk a ton (which I don’t like either — I don’t want someone to gab my ear off! I’m not a super chatty person). I like her presence, her approach and always the end product.
My husband recently started going here as well, and really enjoys his hair as well. She did the hair for my wedding, and I would recommend her (and I do!) to anybody who is on the hunt for a great stylist.

I feel bad writing this review and break a 5-​star streak, so I was going back and forth whether I should write this review. I hope that Nancy can take these criticisms and improve some aspects of the services. I felt compelled to write as a Unilocal Elite.
I had a Town Hog deal for a haircut, color, and blowout treatment. I called her and made an appointment with the mention of the voucher. We were going back and forth on text after contacting her on phone on the date and time. In the end, she texted that she wasn’t sure if our appointment can be set until a week before the actual appointment. So I didn’t know if I had an appointment until the day before. I felt like my appointment wasn’t taken too seriously and thought maybe it was because I had a voucher.
I was 15 mins late due to traffic, which I texted her. She appeared annoyed that I was late (barely any intro), because there was someone else coming in 45 mins after me. I was surprised that she double-​booked herself even though she has no assistants. She said that she typically double-​books herself. I suppose I didn’t mind as long as I got my hair done. We were off to a rough start, but I was willing to move on in hope of a nice hair style.
I wasn’t sure what kind of cut I wanted or hair color. So I asked her for an opinion since I haven’t colored my hair for couple of years (had a baby). She asked me if I wanted red color, which I answered «sure.» Then she asked me what tint — cool or orange. I answered «cooler tones.» She then asked me what kind of hair cut I wanted. When I wasn’t sure and wanted some opinion, she handed me a Japanese hair magazine from 2006. When she asked me if I wanted to flip through a magazine, I thought she’d give me a magazine from 1) 2011 and 2) USA. I was totally offended, because this old Japanese magazine contained «fobby» haircuts I didn’t want AND they were outdated! I know I’m Asian, but I wasn’t interested such magazine. (Please, toss this magazine.)
I grabbed the most recent Style magazine when Nancy went to get my hair dye. I was surprised that she came back with a dye when I didn’t even get to look at the hair swatch chart, which typically stylists offer so that I can choose the exact color I want. When I told her that, she responded «You wanted cool red highlights, right?» I really wanted to choose my exact tone. I can only pray that my hair turned out right at the end. I don’t want to recolor my hair if there should be a mistake so I was praying while she was applying my color.
After she applied my hair, her next client came in 15 mins later herself. But Nancy greeted this client with warmth. I think this was also her first time, but the fact that she didn’t give her the same cold shoulder as me… it just made me feel bad. I sat under the dryer in the next room while she tended to this client. When the machine was done drying my newly dyed hair, I had to 30 mins while she finished her other client’s hair while chatting. I had a kid waiting at home, and I wanted to see him before he went to bed! She didn’t check on me, so I had to tell her that I was done. I felt pretty neglected.
Maybe she realized that I may have felt that way, because she started talking to me during the cut (she didn’t chat with me at all during the color application). She seemed nice now that she started chatting with me. The haircut looked decent, and the highlight looked great. This is why I’m giving her 3 stars instead of 1. However, I don’t think I would pay $ 190 (retail). The so-​called Brazilian blowout treatment, which I expected was at least an express treatment was not a true blowout. It was this maintenance spray that really wasn’t worth it for me. I thought I had purchased a real blowout treatment, which I love. I felt deceived my the wording on the Town Hog.
I was really surprised how the whole process took nearly 3 hours for haircut, partial highlights, and spraying a solution on my hair. At the Aveda salon in Santana Row, it took 3 hours for haircut and full color including bleaching and highlights. Latter was definitely worth it since my hair was dramatically different. I had a subtle but still nice difference coming out of Nancy’s. But I don’t think I should’ve spent nearly 3 hours there. Needless to say, I didn’t get to say good night to my baby.

Nancy just did a Keralyze Smoothing Blow Out treatment and my hair has never felt better — it is seriously like silk! And, it took me minutes to dry my hair that previously took forever. I didn’t even need to use a brush! Nancy is wonderful!

I am very picky at whom I let touch my hair, trim yet alone cut or style it! I have long naturally wavy/​curly hair. It takes one with great product knowledge and skill to give me a nice style to leave my hair looking and feeling nice, silky, no frizz! I decided to give Nancy a try as I have seen her work on others. And wow! She cut exactly just the right amount to leave my hair still long, with a few long layers and gave me an awesome treatment called Simply Smooth Keratin Extend. She did a blow dry and straightened it, perfect! I went out on the town that evening and received so many compliments all night on how silky, pretty and healthy my hair looked! I dont wanna wash it! She has won my full trust and I totally recommend her!

As always Nancy you are there for me whenever I need you! Thank you so much for the fabulous job you do on my hair. Love the new salon!

Nancy is the absolute best. She has cut my hair for years and is easily my most favorite hair stylist. I would highly recommend you going in to see Nancy at JR Roberts. It’s a great atmosphere and she will definitely make you feel comfortable.
