Subway with a twist. I love mediterranean food and this place is a good alternative when you want to grab something quick. They have standard pita wraps on the menu or you can customize it with what you want. I tried the gyro pita and it was good. Hummus costs extra though, which is too bad. They also serve breakfast all day which is always a plus.

The worst and stale pita ever. In the first bite itself all the stuffing and pita began to separate. The pita began to crumble, definitely not a fresh pita. The toppings and sauces were standard, nothing great.

I used to LOVE Pita Pit in high school and went to one in Baton Rouge and thought they were the«high end» fast food type places like Chipotle. I always found Pita Pit to be healthy and cheap. I got quite the opposite feel from this location. the vegetables looked soo bleh. Like you know sometimes you’re like«oooo I’ll take the spinach, and both hummuses, and the falafal, and this and that» cause it all looks good? Ya, nah, I was like umm I’ll take the lettuce? The place just looked really run down and unclean. The only redeeming factor was that they were really nice and I appreciated that the cashier asked if I was ok with my food being cooked on the same stove at the meat.

First off, I love the Pita Pit. Granted I do only get the same thing every time but every time I have Pita Pit I enjoy it so! Plus, they have a movie meal deal for two with Camera 12 cinemas that is a pretty good deal. Customer service wise the late night staff is for the most part pretty friendly. Being open late can have an attitude change on most so I get it Pita crew, just do not ignore the customers. But If you’re looking for semi nutritional made fast with fresh ingredients I recommend Pita Pit and they validate parking.

This place kind of just seems like a Mediterranean subway. I came here cause it was convenient. Got the Gyro Pita and it just seems like it’s lacking in the moisture department. Was expecting a Greek yogurt sauce but all I get is feta cheese. I asked for some sun dried pesto sauce? Comes out of a bottle and I don’t really taste it. There’s a lot of raw onions which is also off putting. This place also seems eager to coerce tips out of you bc when you pay with card the first thing it asks is «Do you want to leave a tip» and THEN it tells you your total. They also have a tip sign that deserves a chuckle, but no tip. Service was fine I guess, they didn’t seem that friendly. Nick the Greek is 5 min farther and $ 2 more, but tastes waaayyy better.

I’ve started to come here quite frequently now because of its location and because it has healthy food for a somewhat reasonable price. Also for SJSU students, there’s a student discount(with Tower card) which doesn’t make that much of difference, but it still is a discount. What I’ve noticed is that there is definitely a huge difference in service based on the person who is taking your order. The Asian woman is the nicer one. She gives more generous portions, takes her time when dealing with customers and actually smiles. You can really taste the love when eating something she put together for you. As for the guy with tattoos, you get the feeling that he doesn’t really like his job. He seems to rush, give smaller portions, and avoid eye contact. You can almost taste the difference between the two people.

Nothing special, but ok. Fresh grilled meat, and fresh tasting ingredients but the pita breaks really fast so i need a fork to eat the fillings. The restaurant looks used and has not a welcoming atmosphere.

I had this delivered to me via EnvoyNow. I got the chicken caesar pita and it was good! I’d probably get it again, maybe next time I’ll try a different kind.

I love this place. It’s kind of like a Subway fast food place. You tell them what you want, and they make it your way. The serving size is very filling. You can make it a meal with chips and a drink, or cookies and a drink. Also, if you want your cookies heated, they’ll be happy to do it for you. Yum!

Delicious! The server was very nice and helped me understand how to order. Not sure what her name was but she was wearing a cal Berkeley crew neck sweater! Better than subway in my opinion

The veggie pita wrap is something you should definitely try. I love this place. It’s fast, convenient and right next to transit. Although the guy at the billing counter is very rude. That takes away one star.

I was in the area and began to have a mad craving for hummus. Thought about buying a tub of hummus at Safeway, but once I got there, I changed my mind because I would never finish it. Looked across the street and my eyes locked onto Pita Pit. Walked in and the emoloyees were in the back chatting. This gave me time to browse the menu. After a while, they noticed I was there and came out to help me. I selected the red pepper hummus pita, and was able to choose a bunch of veggies to put on top of it. One of the employees wrapped it while another rang me up. The price for a hummus pita and a regular fountain drink came out to around $ 8, which would be justifiable if there were more veggies on my pita. I felt like they could have definitely fit more into it, but I was there for the hummus, after all. Customer service was very nice. The cashier told me about options she liked and what customers preferred. After I received my wrap, they retreated to the back and resumed their chatting.

Amazing service! It was my first time here and the woman manning the register walked us through the different menu items and was very accommodating. The food was bomb and I definitely recommend going here for a delicious & cheap meal — especially if you’re a broke college student.

I really enjoyed Pita Pit. It’s kinda like subway but more greek/mediterranean style. It’s quick, fresh, and more importantly, HEALTHY! You have the option to select either wheat or white pita and choose your type of meat and different options to add to your order such as grilled unions, mushrooms, tomatoes, ect. It’s great that you are able to select and create your own pita wrap! If you’re looking for a quick, fresh, and healthy lunch, this place is the way to go!

I was searching for pita/shawarma/falafel places near SJSU on Unilocal.I was originally planning on going to Gotta Eatta Pitta, but a friend of mine recommended Pita Pit. He told me it was cheaper and better. I came here between my classes somewhat reluctantly after reading the Unilocal reviews. I went for a chicken souvlaki pita with avocados(which is $ 2 extra), honey mustard, tahini, and tzatziki. The Asian woman at the counter was nice, and gave me a student discount(which was basically the only good thing about this place). The pita however seemed quite small. The meat was still cold and the ingredients were just unevenly spread out. Not worth my $ 8, I’d say this place is meh :/

Im not the biggest fan of this place but my friends love the food so I always tag along. We live in Cupertino so its about a 20 minute drive to come down here because its the closest one around. Most of the time we grab food after drinking downtown so its there and no rush but this time we drove all the way here to sit down grab a bite to eat. This was not the case. As we entered there were two gentleman working who both clearly didnt want to be there. The guy cooking our food was an asian guy who looked really pissed the entire time and kept rolling his eyes everytime one of our friends stepped up and ordered. The guy taking our orders just looked really over it but at least he didnt roll his eyes. We all ordered and pulled some chairs down(because they were all on top of the tables) there were about 5 of us in the group and nobody else was in the restaurant. It was only about 11:00 pm and the sign outside said they didnt close until 12.(we knew we would leave by 11:30 bevcause were not gunna be jerks) After they made our petas, the asian guy looked over at us and said they were all to go because they were closing. My friend asked if they closed at 12am and he said yes but they need to start cleaning cuz they were going to close. We were pretty pissed because we had to eat on the side of the street at 11:20pm. Before we left at 11:30 we saw the guy lock the doors and close up shop. …I thought you closed at 12? whats the point of having a time you close if you arent going to follow it.

This place is overpriced and overrated. The only great thing about it is the late hours. Convenient for college students, bar crawlers, or people with late night hunger pains. I arrived at 2:30am on 6/27, a Friday night(technically Saturday morning). Drove all the way out to this mediocre place. I was on a mission to feed my appetite at such a late hour. Ventured to the sketchy & ghetto downtown SJ… was completely disappointed! I noticed there were two employees inside. One on the cash register, and one at the stove. When I tugged on the door, it was locked. The cashier looked at me and signaled that they were closed. I stared at the sign posted on the window, which I’ve attached to this review. It said they were supposed to be open still… ABIDEBYYOURHOURSOFOPERATION!!!

I had a groupon that was going to expire, so I stopped by at 11 pm the day of. I had called earlier that day and asked when they closed. They clearly said midnight. When we got here, we got nothing but glares from the guys who work there– one hispanic looking dude and the other one was Asian. All the chairs were already up even though it was only 11. The Hispanic guy was slightly nicer than the Asian dude. They made our food with bad attitude and seemed pissed off that we were even in there. We put chairs down to sit and the Asian dude told us «just so you know, this is gonna have to be to go cause we’re closing soon.» I looked at my phone– 11:10 pm. I asked him if they closed at midnight and he replied«yeah but we start closing much sooner.» Right. I used to work at a restaurant and you’re fined for every minute you close before your stated closing hours. We weren’t refused service but they didn’t even let us eat inside and wanted us to leave as soon as we arrived. We put the chairs back up on the tables and cleaned up after ourselves and we didn’t get a «thank you,» let alone any help. After making our food, one just went back into the back room and the other continued to sweep. Zero customer service or people skills. I used to come here almost every day when I was in college, and the Asian lady during the day was so kind and friendly. I used to love this place and drove all the way from Cupertino to get food here after I graduated. Sorry Pita Pit. I love this chain and enjoyed it in many other cities, but this is by far the worst location and I will not be returning. Second star because the food is delicious.

Low quality ingredients and mediocre of a taste and recipe. Nothing exceptional, below average, and near the bottom. If it was free, I would eat here, but as the Unilocal review says for 2 stars, «Meh. I’ve experienced better.» Step it up!

Pretty good quick food to go especially for busy SJSU students. I didn’t know that I can have every topping on there so all I ordered was jalapeño, pineapple, pickles, and lettuce. Odd combination but it was like tasting sweet and sour sauce, instead this is spicy and sweet. I think it seems a bit bland.

I pass by this place everyday and just keep walking it’s always busy. Today I decided to stop in for a «healthy» meal. I’m sick of eating subway sandwiches. And I’m officially hooked. I got the chicken caesar pita and man my mouth is still watering. The perfect blend of chicken and dressing and salad. Only downside is they don’t have fries. But it’s supposed to be healthy. Went next door to My Milkshake Bar and got some curly fries. I’ll be back again tomorrow guys! Thank you

If you are craving meat but also don’t want to have the meat food comma, this is your go to spot! Their pitas are well balanced between meat and toppings that you get that craving fix without the gory aftermath. Did I mention you get unlimited toppings!!! They have a great variety of wraps that combine two different meats for the fickle people who can’t decide! Ex. beef and chicken sharwma combo and a hawaiian wrap with ham and pineapple! My favorite is their buffalo chicken wrap which I add ranch, lettuce, cucumbers, and provolone(lots of provolone) to. The best part about them is that they are open later than most healthier choices in downtown. Whats better than getting your drunchies/munchies meat fix while being somewhat healthy?!

This is a great option if you’re looking for something healthy! It’s kind of like Subway but with pita pockets rather than loaf bread. I opted for the Chicken Caesar and had the options of many many veggies, hummus, cheese, and sauces. There was bacon and grilled chicken in my Chicken Caesar and caesar dressing. The pita pocket was really filling but refreshing at the same time. Did not leave me feeling gross or anything.
