We boarded our horse with Nola for 6 years — the entire time we were in California.
From the second we met Nola she has been an answered prayer. The size of my horse didn’t phase her one bit (17.2 hh, he’s a big boy!). He had a stressful arrival (bad horse transport company) and she helped us nurse him back to health. A few other health problems happened during our 6 years, and she has ALWAYS gone above and beyond. She taught me so much about caring for normal and not-​so-​normal health problems! She is warm, friendly and has a passion for her business. You always feel like family at Nola’s!
As many people with horses know, horse people can be quite shady. My horse has been boarded in 4 states and 8 different barns, constantly changing barns because people got weird or our horse wasn’t treated well. This is NOT the case with Nola!
The only reason we have left is we moved out of state. Even then, my horse stayed an extra year with Nola until we could find a satisfactory barn and the weather was good for coming across the Rockies. She has kept me updated, made sure he was ready for all his appointments (ferrier, vet, etc) and kept a close eye on him while I was away.
Don’t look any further than this barn… you’ve officially found your horse’s new home!

We use Prevost for our horse care needs. Customer service is fantastic! If they are unable to answer the phone, leave a message and they will call you back ASAP. Can’t say enough good things about this business!

Nola’s Iris Garden is up on the top of the mountains in San Jose. We were there over Memorial weekend. Many of the irises were still in bloom. The field of irises is breath taking!
As I understand, you choose your iris and go to the web site for purchase. Nola’s will ship you the irises at the appropriate time, so that the plants will be healthy for the next bloom.
We were amazed with the varieties that were in bloom in the fields. If you’re looking for bearded irises, Nola’s is the place.

If you love Iris this is the place to buy them from… they are based in San Jose and have a wonderful collection of iris both bearded and non-​bearded and many of them are smell amazing (which is hard to find)
Nola has the best customer service, I placed my order a week before Christmas, I wanted a few of the bearded iris as a gift for an advanced gardener, the problem was they stop shipping after November but Nola said she could work something out and she did!!! She went outside in the pouring rain and dug out the iris I had ordered and my order arrived a few days before Christmas. Hope she does not get sick from being out in the rain on my account. Throughout this whole processes Nola stayed in contact with me via phone and email, (she called me first after she got my email) She was very friendly and business like on the phone. I love bulbs of all types and Iris the best of all, I would use this company again and again and would refer anyone to Nola and her garden!!! GREAT SERVICE!!!
