Quality Tune-Up Shops

I have been bringing my car here since 2011 and have received quality service every time. My car is always ready on time (more often earlier than quoted) and I have always received clear explanations of everything that was done. Bonus: as a woman, it is always refreshing to have the shop owner speak to me as an adult who understands what is going on rather than treating me like a «little lady» who needs to be explained at.
The guys have never tried to sell me a service or repair I didn’t need. In fact, there have been a couple of occasions where I have dropped my car off thinking I needed a major repair (like all new brakes and rotors) and have been shown that a costly service is not needed and it was a matter of a simple service or small part replacement that cost me much less than I was thinking. They are always up front and honest in their dealings with me. I wouldn’t take my car anywhere else.
Big thank you to the gentlemen for replacing my headlight bulbs today! I bought bulbs thinking I could do the replacement myself only to find that I couldn’t figure out how to access the headlight inputs on my car. The guys handled it for me in a couple of minutes while I was on my lunch break. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I’m surprised at all the negative reviews.
I took my car in for an oil change and brake check; I wanted to avoid the weekend crowd so I called on a Wednesday morning. No answer until 9am when they said they could take my car and it would take only 20 minutes. When I got there, they assisted me quickly but said it might take a little longer based on my car (couldn’t they have asked the type of car over the phone?)
Anyway. I said I’d seen a coupon online and they honored the price — brake check, oil change, and new filter for $ 30. My boyfriend and I took the dogs to a nearby dog park and within 30 minutes or so they called saying my car was done. I went in, paid, and left in just a few minutes.
Not the best service ever — they don’t talk much and really just want you in and out, but they get the job done quickly and at a decent price.

I can vouch for these guys: they get it right 99% of the time, and when they don’t, they make it right. Auto repair gets more complicated all the time, and I never thought I would trust any garage outside of expensive dealership service departments. I’ve had minor to more major work done at this Quality Tune Up on all 4 of my cars including Infinity, Lexus, and Toyota brands over the past 6 years, and the results are excellent at a reasonable price.
Recommendation: If you read mixed reviews on this business from 2014, consider this more current review. To build confidence, maybe start with oil changes and smog checks, get comfortable with the team, and get quotes on more major repairs — they’ll likely beat the price and get the job done!

I have been going here for years and the guys definitely know what they are doing and care about the customer. On 12÷13÷14 I dropped my SUV off because the outside keypad was not working. I got a call later and they told me that they could not fix it that day. I came by to pick it up and one of the owners took off the keypad tested the wires to make sure there was power and showed me the part I need to get from a dealership to replace it and did not charge me anything. They could of easily told me it would take a couple of days, order the part and charge me. Instead, he showed me how easy it was to fix it my self and made sure the electrical was good. I have always felt they are always looking after me more than they are trying to make money on me.

Stay away from this place. Horrible service!!! 1+ hour for an oil change on a Tuesday afternoon with no other customer. I don’t need a follow up apology from the owner or manager, because the does nothing for me. The best apology would be to close your shop and spare other customers of your horrible service.
I should have read the Unilocal reviews prior to visiting this shop. That would have kept me away from this place. 3 guys standing around working on absolutely nothing, useless!
Trust me, I am not the type to bash people or their business, because I know how hard it is to make a living, but these guys don’t seem to care about their customer time, they’re just working on the clock wasting time.

I came here this morning without an appt. Quality was able to see me right away for a smog in my car! Although the price was a little high, they were quick and very friendly. They also are able to send DMV your smog certificate directly

This place is great!!! I have been taking my four used cars here for maintenance and repair work, and Sukhi & team have gone out of their way every single time to make sure that my cars receive the TLC they need to keep them running for a very long time. I absolutely love that I can trust these guys to fix exactly what is needed, to do it right and at a fair price. They have the customer’s interest at heart, as they will never suggest repairs that are not needed. Also, instead of replacing whole assemblies, they actually take the time to troubleshoot the problem and find the precise component that malfunctions, thus keeping repair costs low. I have been gaining a lot of mechanics know-​how since I have been a customer here, as each time a new problem comes up, Sukhi takes me to the car (or lifts the car up for me), so he can show me exactly what is happening and why. Thanks, Sukhi!
On top of that, Sukhi has been my right hand in advising me whether to purchase or not a used car whenever I needed to make an addition to my fleet. I love how I am able to take a car over, tell him the asking price, and after a couple of hours find out his opinion on whether I should purchase the car or run. My most recent acquisition is a 1995 RV, and Sukhi has been instrumental in breathing new life into it; now it runs great! Thanks, Sukhi!
I can’t believe I have finally found a mechanic shop that I trust and that cares, and if I ever move away from the area, I will still come here for repairs. Sukhi rocks!

PS. I did not know that my neighbors also take their cars here for service; I only figured it out when they recommended your business to me. It’s a small world!

My entire family (10 adults) have been taking our cars and trucks to Suki for years.
Everything has always been above and beyond. The owner has driven me home before if he was going to need my vehicle all say. Sweet.
They have all allowed me to watch them work on everything from a clutch replacement to brake job explaining everything they are doing.
I like to know what they are doing and none of the employees have ever minded.
I had a few minor issues, broken door bolt, and drove to this shop. Being a good customer, they welded it right then. No waiting.
Love these guys as does my husband. Suki is the best.
Small, clean (as can be for a place that works on cars) and honest.

Got my rear brakes changed here before moving out of state. Halfway through my 2 day drive out of CA, I heard grinding on one side and immediately knew it was a brake. Took it into a nearby shop and discovered that they had only changed ONE of my brakes, not 2. They had charged me for both, and made me believe I was all set to drive for a long trip. It was like pulling teeth to try to communicate and they never would admit it was their fault. So unsafe, such bad business, and such a scam. Go anywhere else.

Had my brakes done and had to take it back a day later because there was air in the line and I was unable to stop on the freeway. Now my caliper fell off because after they did my brakes they didn’t attach the caliper correctly. I call and speak to the owner and he Says it’s not their problem. Calling consumer affairs and having this taken care before someone gets hurt driving with poorly fixed brakes. DO NOT GO HERE!

I have been coming to this place for the last two years just because of the owner Sukhi. He used to have a place off of McKee but moved to this location. I trust this guy hands down with my cars. When I first met him I drove a 2007 Subaru Sti and he did all the upkeep and maintenance on that car. Then he moved to this location and by that time I ended up with a 2003 Svt Cobra and this guy was a major help to me. I am very partial to allowing mechanics to work on my cars because I have been wronged before. For example, my cars cruise control stopped working and I called him and setup an appointment so he could take a look at my car. Luckily he was free the next morning so I go in and he takes about 30 minutes checking the fuses and wiring and he realizes that the cruise control level had slipped off the brake which wasn’t allowing my car to activate cruise control. This guy didn’t even charge me for it since he didn’t have to replace anything or change any parts. I mean oh can’t beat that. Then my dad’s car needed brakes and the MB dealer wanted 600 for just the front two. I came here and he only charged me half of that. The brakes have been fine now for over two months with no problems.
Sukhi is a great guy I don’t know why there are so many negative reviews. I even had the guy check out a used car I was looking at a used car and he inspected it and told me everything that was wrong. It only needed a plugs and a air filter.
He has honestly never done my wrong so I will continue to bring my services to him.

I have been going to this car repair shop for 15+ years. I have all of my work done here.
Years ago, I brought in my car for manufacture recommended service for a belt replacement. The gentlemen let me know that I was fine and the car did not need this service. It was recommended by the manufacture, but it did not need to be done. I had the car for many years after that and never had a problem with the belt (and saved $ 900).
Whenever I have work done, but there is still an issue or I have a question later, I pull right in and they take care of it right there and make any corrections without a charge.
I went in last week and asked them to do three little things for me. They spent 30 minutes on the car and did not charge me.
I drive in for my oil changes and they take me right away and charge less than $ 30. I go next door and have lunch and I can see from Kentucky Fried Chicken when my car is done and is coming out of the bay. Very convenient.
I also have many times dropped my car off in the morning and they drive me to work.
Again, I have never had any issue with this shop and recommend then to all of my friends.

Ripoff! Wanted $ 89, plus $ 8.25 for a regular smog check. I walk away and the guy says, I’ll take $ 20 off, $ 69, plus 8.25 is wayyyy toooo much.

I go here for every oil change and SMOG check I get! I never experience the bad service previous posters have written about this shop. I go in, they take my car within the hour I’m there And do what I paid them to. My mechanic, Paul, was very nice and sincere as he explained what I needed for my car and what I may need to consider maintaining better as time goes on. He made solid recommendations and even made sure my maintenance light was off when I realized it came on! It was a great experience and I will continue my business here! I think it takes the right attitude of both the customer and associate to make it a pleasant experience! Thank you, Paul!

I called this place to get a quote on a repair they gave me a price that seemed fair. I drove over right away, and when I talked to the same guy he gave me a totally different price. These people give Mechanics a bad rap, Honor your quotes!!!

I absolutely love these guys. I forget the fellas name, (tall, thin, man) but I just think he’s wonderful. I’ve been coming to him for years. They’ve always done a great job and when I drop in, (which is usually what I do) they quickly handle my needs, even if its a busy holiday weekend. I really appreciate his service and it’s definitely NOT because I’m hot! (I’m pretty sure) ;)‘
Thank you for always taking care of me. I appreciate your honesty and wiliness to go the extra mile. :) That’s what makes me come back.
As a side note… I’ve never really checked priced but I feel what they charge is fair. What’s most important is his honesty and service. It really makes a difference. I’m just a shamed I don’t know his name. (Going to fix that :))
Wait!!! He just called me!!! I have my car down for a quick oil change and forget to mention something. So I called and there was no answer, because he was on the phone with another client. Once he finished his call, he called me right back!!! LOVE THAT!!!

My dad for some reason really trusts this place. I had gone her about three months ago to see how much it would be to get my one head light replaced. They told me $ 95. I decided to then fix the head light myself to cut the cost. Then my head light went out again and I decided to go get it fixed since it was such a pain.
The second time I went to see how much it would cost to get my head light fixed they only charged me $ 75. I guess I looked hotter the second time around. Oh yeah AND the first time they said I would have to leave the car for the day. The second time it took only an hour. Very strange…

ok, I understand things can happen! But? I hadn’t had the chance to write about this shop until now! I have to say, you can’t please everyone but my experience with this shop has been AWESOME!!! I had major problems with my Dodge and they repaired the issues at hand for a fair price!!! I have been coming to quality tune-​up shops since the 80’s. I know how these guys work and how they are! Their one big family that really is concerned about you TRULY being a Happy Customer!!! I found that other places I have went too simply didn’t work out for me! I trust these guys VERY MUCH!

Mr. Sukhi, as you know «YOU HAVE A GREAT TEAM!!! » I have been coming to your shop for many many years!!! Sorry that you can’t please everyone all the time but you have managed to take care of my old car and as well as my new 2013 Camaro with a LOT of TLC!!! You guys rock and «EVERY SINGLE TIME» I come in? I’m always treated very kindly and VERY professionally! I have told you guys in person, Thank you! But now I’m saying it here «THANK YOU!!! I always have recommend YOUR shop to family and friends for years, and you know what? I always hear great things about you and your Team and nobody has ever complained to me once about anything negative! You guys «NEVER» failed me and it is what it is!!!

First of, I work at a auto parts distributor (one of the biggest that carries 100k part numbers). If your car broke down in front of this repair shop, just call a tow truck and have your car towed to your trusted repair shop.
On a Monday afternoon, my car started a coolant leak and I have to drive my car to the nearest repair shop and unfortunately I drove my car to this Quality repair shop by Bascom Ave. and Camden Ave.
Next day, Tuesday, Quality called me very late and told me that my car’s heater hose needed to be replaced. I asked the guy if we have the parts at the company that I work for and the tech said that we don’t have these part sand he needs to order these hoses from the dealership (Even though I see these parts available from our catalog online, I just let it go since I wanted these guys to make money somehow).
Another day, Wednesday, I waited and waited and called Quality for the status at 11am and at 2pm with the same reason that the the dealership have not deliver the needed parts yet. So, I stopped by at Quality at 4pm. I asked the tech why the dealership was taking so long time and what customer service that these dealership have? I asked the guy for the part number, so I can order and he said he doesn’t know. So I asked the tech again on how he order the parts needed if he doesn’t know the part number. He cannot even answer my question. So the tech and I went online to check our company’s catalog and there you go… Our catalog shows that we have these hoses available. The tech said to me that our company does not have these hoses yesterday and these parts suddenly showing on our catalog. Wow!!!
So I was just so furious since I already missed two days of work and cannot afford to have another missed day. So thats the time the tech called to order these parts from our company. Our company cannot able to deliver these parts immediately because we missed the cut-​off time at 4pm, so I ended up and picked up my parts at our branch (whatta waste of time and gas).
When I delivered the parts at 5:15, I asked the tech if he can able to finish the work today, he said that he will try… he better be. I came back at 5:30pm and the tech wasn’t working on my car yet. The Quality shop closes at 6pm, but I
had them to work on my car until 7:30ish.
Quality have a very bad reputation and check other testimony here on Unilocal!
I had bad experience at this repair shop before I had my oil changed and transmission fluid replaced and after a month, I went to my regular trusted repair shop that I go to and to have my oil changed, my trusted repair shop told me that I needed to replace my transmission because it was so very dirty and showed me. I was like wow! Quality cheated on me… Anyway, this is my novel.
Remember, if your car broke down near to this Quality shop, just have your car towed to your trusted repair shop. If Unilocal only have negative stars, Quality deserves that!

Somebody said «new management»? I always pass by at this repair shop and I still see the same crew…

Called up and said how long… Said bring it in 20min. I asked if they would match midas’ price of 20 $ + tax and they matched. I walked next door and had some A&W rootbeer… Walked back and it was ready to go. @ 2:40pm on a Thursday and I didn’t have to wait hours or make an appointment like MIDAS. 5 star service despite bad english.
