Quest Diagnostics – Burdette

Very unprofessional front desk staff. The lady at the front did not know how to use the office equipment and was bickering with another staff member in front of patients. Vietnamese staff member was also rude to their Vietnamese-​speaking patients because his coworker was bossing him around. They made a simple blood-​drawing even more unpleasant with their unprofessional attitude towards each other and to the patients.
The lab made it difficult for non-​insurance patients to pay by not accepting cash but credit cards only. I would think that the patients they serve in this part of the community often are Medi-​Cal and/​or pay with cash rather than credit card. This is the first lab I’ve encountered where the phlebotomist has to update the lab order and collect patient payment inside the lab-​drawing station. What is the receptionist there for but to be rude to the patients? Poor patient service overall.
Staff seems like they woke up on the wrong side of the bed and hate their jobs. They show lack of respect for each other and the patients they serve. Don’t come to this lab. I would give 0 stars if it possible.

Dirty and very inconsiderate environment… Doesn’t matter if you are on time or sooner for the appointment, wait time will still be an hour or more. The staff needs basic etiquettes training on how to converse with fellow humans. I’m never coming back to this location!

Went there on 7÷22÷15 for a routine blood drawl. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS go to
to make an appointment, you can easily make one on your phone in less than five minutes; which is what I did the day before for a 7:45am appointment.
I walked in on that day, waited in a short line, signed in on the sheet, gave them my ID, medi-​cal card and identification benefits card, gave them my doctor’s order; pre-​printed. Then I waited. They call me in, I did a blood drawl of four vials and a urine test. This all took 23 minutes or less; I was out the door by 8:08am.
As for customer service, they were between okay and nice, I could not complain. They did their job and got it done. The young white girl at the reception desk was nice, and the asian guy at the reception was rushed/​stressed but he kept his cool. The phlebotomist was okay as well, she was rushed/​stressed and did not smile or had a nice tone but she got the job done. I knew to drill to the operation, so everything went by fast.
When I walked in initially, there are ALOT of patients, who did NOT make appointments, thus they HAD A LONG WAIT. ALWAYS ALWAYS make appointments, no matter what.

I’ve been here twice and I think the first time only went smooth because I made an appointment. Now it’s the second time and omg waiting took almost an hour and a half. There’s only one bathroom stall so if u need to do a urine sample or if u have to go real bad, u have to wait. I hate it here because people here work slow and are always rude. They don’t smile. They talk rude to the elderly. One of the asian lady nurse worker who was drawing blood for the patient was like OK GO HOME YOU’RE DONE. And the patient was trying to ask her a question and she says, I SAID GO HOME SIR, YOU’RE FINISH. All she could of done was listen, answer his question, smile and that’s it. What’s so Damn hard? I don’t know why they have this place open if they got rude workers there. I have moments where I want to say stuff but I didn’t want to cause a scene since my grandma was there. if you are planning to go here, don’t waste ur time, look for somewhere better to go to

I dont usually write reviews but only the horrible places persuave me to do so… this place is an example. The receptionist will give everybody attitude. The patient before me got yelled at.lol. She plays w her eyeballs alot too… looking up down, rolling it around. This is meant to b a 0 star :)

Chaotic. Rude customer service. Angry people. Long wait. Come early or be sure to schedule an appointment ahead of time. It’ll save u a headache. I hope they got my lab result right.

Male employee did not wash his hands after using the restroom. He went to the bathroom and left for the day. Since there was no soap in the bathroom, obviously he did not use soap. Nor did he bother to refill it.
I will not go back.

If I could give minus stars I would. Came in with an appointment all went well until the old vietnamese lady nurse that drew my blood missed my vein or something and started wiggling the needle around bc no blood was coming out. It was really painful. She then proceeded on the other arm. I came out sweating because I was I was holding back tears. The arm which she was wiggling the needle around, became really bruised and sore. Today I return to turn in a test. I was standing there for a good 10 minutes while Phom (some worker) was typing away, ignoring me. There was like nobody in the lobby… He finally stopped and told me I had to sign in. Before I could finish telling him I was only dropping off a test, he cut me off and rudely said you have to sign in. They need better staffing here, someone that can actually speak English or treat their patients better. My experience with the rude staff, makes me not trust dropping off or getting tested here.

Quest– pls educate your employees on customer service. The front desk people seem to hate their job… because it shows in how they greet you.
Phlebotomist was decent, but not sure why they need to draw 5 huge vials of blood from my mom when I’m sure it totally could’ve been condensed. I asked the phleb why do you need to draw 2 lavender tops and she gave me a reason like, oh they need to run 2 different tests on them… Um, I’m a RN and I do line draws from pts, and there’s no reason why you need a repeat of the same color vial– that part I understand. Whatever, not gonna be coming back here ever again.

No appointment made because my doctor’s office told me that I didn’t need to since they faxed over my paperwork for the blood work. Walked in and I saw a sign that said «Please Sign in. Appointments and walk-​ins» so I proceeded to sign in and the front desk lady says, «Can you please wait ma’am?» (In a rude tone, I might add) while she was with a patient… I understand the «patient privacy» and standing behind a line until they’re finished, but maybe they should’ve put the sign in sheet elsewhere instead of making people feel stupid or change the sign to say sign in upon seeing receptionist or something of that sort. Uhh, nowhere does it say wait until I’m finished with the patient to sign in. Just saying.
She just wasn’t a delightful person. Finally, I signed in and she asked if I had paperwork, but I informed her it was faxed. She found it and asked for my insurance card to copy and gave me a slip with a number. I asked her how long it would take and she told me 30 minutes. Someone else asked literally right after me and she told the same estimated time. I don’t know maybe because I’m Vietnamese.
Anyhow, I got called in after 10 minutes and Phon (Vietnamese/​Chinese gentleman) did my paperwork on the computer for a good 10 minutes with interruption from staff who didn’t know how to fax some paperwork to another office. Other than the distraction /​interruption, blood drawing was less than 3 minutes. Quick and painless. I’d come back for him since he was efficient and nice.

SET AN APPOINTMENT! or… your life will just suck! juuuuuusssstttt kidding. …but seriously though. –_​_​–
Came here to get some biometric testing done for my work and health benefit discounts. (score!) Thankfully I made an appointment online via the website a few days ahead as I arrived into a over crowded shanty of a med facility, .ok.ok. not a shanty but you get the picture right?
The place is hard to find cause there so many businesses jammed into this little strip mall, and they don’t really have a well visible sign.
The lady at the front desk was super curt when I went to check in. She reminded me of the character who plays the overworked/​cold front desk lady right out of a free «inner city» health clinic movie/​TV scene. You are a number that is waiting in line, so please move on.
The techs however was much friendlier but clearly overworked and rushed. Their quality of skill may be questionable… the syringe/​technique the tech used caused a 4 inch laceration along the inside of my elbow and left a massive bruise bigger than my palm. :(
They took my body weight, waist size, blood pressure, and 2 large @$$ vials of my life force for glucose and other blood work. All of this was entered into a computer directly after being taken and transmitted to my work’s HR dept and Quest Testing Facilities.
Weeeellllll, these geniuses somehow messed this one up! A MONTH LATER… Quest sent me a letter in the mail with my results. It also included another letter saying they somehow did not get my blood pressure and waist size data, but obtained all my blood work! WTF?!
So…I am now standing in line to a different shanty, waiting in another overly crowded line, awaiting for them to take these… again!
Didn’t even give me a lolly either… :P

Never again will I go to this location! Had an appointment and stood in line just to sign in and ask the receptionist what I need to do after I sign in. Stood there for 30 min. with her just ignoring me. She kept calling other peoples names while I stood there looking at her. Then she walked passed me and said sign in and when I tried to ask her a question she kept walking away and then went into a room. I stood in the line pissed off waiting for her to come out. Then got on my phone and made an appointment for the 115 N. Jackson Ave. location. I had 30 min. to get over to Jackson. I left, went to Jackson, told the receptionist there that I had an appointment, she took my form and in less then 4 min. she called me back there and I was done.

Avoid!
I had an assigned (through their web site) early morning appointment for a blood draw that needed to be Fedex-​ed to a facility in San Francisco. I had all of the paperwork, boxes, etc. I chose this lab because another Quest location said that this was the closest lab to their main lab, that does the processing for shipments.
Well, I got there 20+ minutes early and signed in. The waiting room was packed. About 10 minutes before my appointment, my name still hadn’t been called to do the initial paperwork so I stepped up to the front desk and asked about my time sensitive test. The receptionist disappeared for about 8 minutes, came back and said that she couldn’t get a hold of her supervisor. That even with an appointment, I may have to wait a really long time because her supervisor was unreachable.
Since the gentleman at another Quest location told me that the blood draw had to be done early or it wouldn’t ship in time (making me repeat the test later), I decided not to wait for hours. I contacted the facility that requested the exam about driving up to San Francisco to maybe get a lab blood draw up there since the Quest labs near me seem unprepared to deal with this type of exam.
Just because you have an appointment and get there on time doesn’t mean that you can actually get your labs done. Go elsewhere!

I’ve been to this lab twice to have blood drawn. The first time was in May, 2012. My appointment was at 8:30am and I arrived at 8:15am. I was not seen by the lab technician until 9:50am. The receptionist made a mistake on my form and wrote 9:40am as my appointment time. The receptionist is extremely rude. She yells «sign in and sit down» to people who walk up to her.
The second visit was June 27, 2012. I thought if I made the appointment for later in the day, they would be less busy and I would be out of there quicker. The same rude receptionist was there. My appointment time was 11:40am and I was there at 11:30am. I was not seen by the lab technician until 12:15pm, a whole 35 minutes past my appointment time. I found out later that the receptionist buried my paper below a bunch of others who did not have appointments.
The 1 star is for the lab technician who was polite and efficient.
This is it. I will not go back to this lab again.

the wait was a little long, but the service was quick and efficient.
i came in to a jam-​packed waiting room on a wednesday AM. i was the only non-​vietnamese person there. it was also super hot inside. dunno if that’s cause it was just an unseasonably hot day for march, or if they had the heat on.
the waiting room only had 2 magazines, time and AARP. they did have an old medical directory of dr/​dentist ads and random articles. it was in vietnamese, so i can’t say i got what was going on in the articles. but there were tons of ads for dental xrays and cleanings for 40 – 70 $, so i think i’ll call some of those, i have a feeling i have a cavity that needs filling.
you enter and write your name on a waiting list, same procedure as at the other Quest facility i have been to. there were about 10 people before me, and another 10 were signed in by the time the woman at the desk called me to take my insurance info.
when i arrived, i asked about how long it would take to be seen, the woman said half an hour. it ended up being an hour, but it’s not like i had to be anywhere. i don’t think they take appointments, i believe it’s walk-​in only.
there were a fair amount of kids here. one little boy was sobbing while he got his blood drawn and afterwards. when another young boy saw the toddler, he blanched and started crying for at least 20 minutes. good times.
the guy who drew my blood was an older vietnamese guy named phon, or something like that. his accent was a little hard to understand, but he was very friendly.
my veins aren’t that easy to reach, but he poked my arm for a second, then stuck the needle into a vein that i couldn’t even see. i complimented his skill, and he mentioned that that vein he found by feel, not by sight. i was out in just a few minutes after he took my blood.

I always go there to do blood tests.
This location is small, less organized, located in a rather bad neighborhood and its always crowded. And yet, the employees there are efficient. They also entertain walk-​ins and offer Saturday appointments.
If you go there for a blood test, make sure you look for the older Vietnamese gentleman (wearing glasses) or the older, rather tiny Vietnamese woman (wearing glasses). They are the best as they never hurt you, leave you with no bruises, fast, painless, and accurate.
Avoid that Filipino chubby gay dude. He never pays attention. He will hurt you and leave you with huge bruises that take long time to be healed.
