Dr. Z and his staff were very helpful, patient and friendly! I don’t have a bad review only because I did not experience some of the things the other reviews had experienced. They made sure to check my dental coverage to make sure what was being covered and what I had to put out of pocket. I also got a chart to show what was being done and how much each work cost to be done. So far, it’s been smooth sailing with Dr. Z and his staff. He did a great job working on my daughters teeth and letting me know every detail of what was going to be done and the outcome came out terrific! Thank you Dr. Z and staff!

Wish we would have read the Unilocal reviews first. Took our 3 year old son for a check up. Dentist said he had 7 cavities and at that age we had to sedate him. The first appointment they had him drink a liquid. He spit most of it up. They dentist said he would have to use an anesthesiologists and we would have to pay out of pocket. We paid a deposit for the anesthesiologists and paid the balance the day of the appointment. They wrote my credit card number down and charged me the balance. A day later they charged me again. I had to cancel my CC and dispute the charge. Not sure whats going on here but very shady. The staff is rude and unhelpful a totally bad experience.

This review is long overdue. I guess I’ve been wanting to get this horrible memory out of my head or I’m partly embarrassed that I ever put my daughter through this traumatizing experience. But if this will help other parents from making the same mistake it will be so worth it. Please DO NOT take your children here!!! Go to Dr Diaz from family Smile dental. She’s our savior and my daughters love her. She referred me to Dr Fisher on Mabury rd after this bad experience. I hope he’s still there because he is freakin awesome!
Anyway, if you are still not convinced why you should NOT take your children here for anything, here’s my story. My daughter’s dentist originally referred him for a root canal since she didn’t do them back then. My daughter’s dad took her to her first appt which was a consultation so I didn’t get to meet this horrible dentist until the day of the root canal.
On the day of the root canal, they gave my 8 year old daughter a sedation juice. I should’ve left after that. They told me to leave the room when they give her the sedation juice and she came out balling her eyes out. She said they strapped her to a board when she wouldn’t drink the juice and they were so forceful she ended up bumping her head on the table. She fell asleep in my arms in the waiting room so when they came to get her for the root canal I figured it’s ok cuz she’s gonna be passed out she won’t even feel it. WRONG AGAIN! I should never have trusted this man and his assistants with my daughter alone EVER!!! This was the worst mistake I’ve ever made in my life and I still regret it to this day.
After a few minutes I was called into his office. Again, with a balling daughter and this time very inconsolable. He tells me she woke up mid-​procedure and refused to be cooperative. Of course I check my daughter for any injuries this awful person might’ve given my daughter and see what he has to say. He says she needs to be put totally under for this and all costs will be out of pocket since they need to get an anesthesiologist there and my how my daughter was rudely uncooperative and he has never experienced this behavior before. He goes on for a bit to tell me how «terribly uncooperative» my child is and she needs behavior management because she threw up part of the sedation juice thats why she woke up. I took all the paperwork he gave me and you can imagine where I wanted to shove them into, but instead I was a lady and just threw them in the garbage, and went back to my dentist to tell her about our awful experience and to never EVER refer that dentist to anyone again!!! And to please refer me to someone good. Dr Zotovich has no business touching children’s teeth!!! EVER!!! My daughter is now 13 but she is scarred for life and she still remembers this bad experience.
IF ANY DENTIST EVER TELLS YOU THAT YOU NEED TO LEAVE THE ROOM FOR A ROOT CANAL, TAKE YOUR CHILD AND RUN!!! I learned this the hard way.

My experience at Dr. Zotovich has always been positive. The staff are very hospitable and knowledgeable when it comes to specific needs or questions. Every trip has been positive. My daughter has been here for a while and she has no problem continuing here. Dr. Zotovich has done an excellent job of keeping her on top of taking care of her teeth.

I’ve been going to Dr. Zotovich for about 20 years now. When I turned 18, I switched to a different dentist for adults. I eventually came back because I missed the people here! Everyone here is very kind, and they always remember my name and ask me how I am. They’ve been working here for as long as I can remember, and they’re all sweet ladies.
All the kids I encounter during my visits always seem happy to be there :) They have video games and toys to play with inside while they wait. I would definitely recommend this place!

In the 5 years that my kids have seen Dr. Zotovich, I couldn’t be happier with the results. The staff there is quite friendly and my kids have never had any issues with anyone there. Dr. Z is very thorough when it comes to explanations of any issues that the boys might have or procedures that need to get done. Definitely recommend Dr. Zotovich!

Horrible place. True about the previous comment they are a money making buisness. They did a full mouth x — ray on my 3 year old daughter and failed to tell me that my insurance would not cover it completely. When they had the print out right in front of them. And on top of that told me my daughter would need lots of work and gave me a print out of what they would bill and really what the heck is «behavior management» charge. I called my insurance and said those charges are unheard of. Please people don’t traumatize your children by coming here it will hurt them and your wallets.

I’m giving Dr. Zotovich two stars because the work he did on my son appeared okay. However, I did not like him at all. I found him extremely condescending and he treated me like a child. My son had a tiny cavity between his teeth and he preceded to lecture me on the right foods. I’m not a moron, I may not have a medical degree but I know to limit sugar but $*** happens! This dentist’s bedside manner is horrible so it turns a patient off to his whole practice! I found someone who gets the point across RESPECTFULLY.

Best dentist ever! My kids have been going to Dr. Zotovich for 9+ years and they absolutely love him. The staff is very friendly, the office is very clean and they go above and beyond to make sure the kids feel calm and comfortable, because going to the dentist can be very scary. Dr. Zotovich practices preventative maintenance which is probably what I love the most, plus, he never lets the kids feel bad or guilty if their teeth are not perfect, instead he tells them they «look great» and that they are «really good kids»!! Dr. Zotovich is wonderful, gentle and kind. I feel very fortunate to have found him. Not many kids can say that they’ve always had good experiences at the dentist!

I’m surprised people have given Dr. Zotovich bad reviews! Both of my kids have been going to his office for over a year now and we have never had a bad experience. He has always answered all my questions throughly and with respect. My 7 and 2 year old don’t have cavities, so they only get checkups and teeth cleaning bi-​annually.
I would say the only negative is being on time with appointments. The last two times we had appointments, they made us wait an extra 20 – 25 min past our appointment time.

My two-​year old daughter gel and crack her front tooth in half. We called Dr. Z and he saw us right away. Gave verry good advise. I was verry happy with his kind and gentle way. — Dad

Avoid this dentist. Like many others have said, he is condescending and does not believe in answering all your questions. After he has seen the child, he will say a couple of sentences and walk away — leaving you with the staff to answer all your questions.

Also, he will not let the parents go in with the kids for any procedure. You are left guessing outside as to what your child is going through. My daughter had two of her teeth extracted recently and we were not allowed to go in with her even after making multiple requests. Not sure if all the dentists do this?
Definitely not going to him again!

My 5 year old son was referred to this dentist by Perfect Smile for two cavities he had on his front 2 teeth. Apparently this office does not have a long relationship with the referring dentist as they wanted to repeat all the X-​rays. Instead of using the X-​rays that they already had. The office does have a very good X-​ray system. However the referring dentist was just going to fill the teeth as they would be coming out in 1.5 to 2 years. But my son was not so compliant. I thought we could do it, but after filling one of his back teeth they did not want to continue. So we ended up at Dr. Zotovich’s office.
Dr. Zotovich did a nice sales pitch for the full treatment– stainless steel caps, pulpotomy, veneers and preventative sealing. My out of pocket would be $ 775 after the insurance. I want everyone to know that this office will recommend and demand the most expensive procedure that they can perform. This office is not about treatment but about making money. I was very concerned with sedating my 5 year old for 2 simple front teeth cavities. If you can avoid sedation then it is best to do so.
I went to yet another dentist recommended by a friend. He used «non injection» technology to numb just the two front teeth in less than 2 seconds and then fixed both of them in less than 5 minutes. My co-​pay was less than $ 50. He guaranteed the fillings for 1 year and said if they fall out he will put them back in for free. He said it is not necessary to do such extensive procedure since he will be losing those teeth in about 1.5 years anyway. I am glad I found a great dentist.
If you think the procedure that Dr. Zotovich recommends may not be necessary then I strongly urge you to consult another dentist. If you are happy in risking your child’s health with sedation and paying for expensive procedures that may not be required then you are welcome.
I am certainly glad we have Unilocal. I read some of the reviews after our appointment and then began to understand what folks were saying.

My children have been patients of Dr. Zotovich for 15 years. My daughter has only ever needed bi-​annual cleanings but my son had some very extensive work done when he was younger. We were referred to Dr. Zotovich by another dentist because his he and his office staff are trained to handle special needs children who need a little extra care & attention.
I have always found his office staff friendly and honest. It is not easy to hear your child has dental problems that probably could have been avoided, but I have always been treated with respect.
Their offices are very clean and eventhough my children are older they still love to get a little toy before they leave. I did not give them 5 stars because they occasionally run late as they give a few extra minutes to everyone.

Dr. Zotovich and his staff were great. My son is 2 years old and they handled him with great care. We had him take xrays and drink the juice that helped him sleep but that comes with the process and even though he didn’t like it, we understood that had to be done and the staff treated him great.
They answered all our questions and our concerns. There were times when I had questions and called throughout the week to ask questions, they were always nice and accommodating and courteous to us. Overall I had a great experience and I would recommend Dr. Zotovich and his staff.

I took my daughter here back in 2008. I truly believe that this is a money-​making business before patient care (the patient care part is non-​existent).
They forced her to take full-​mouth x-​rays at 3 years old. It was an awful experience. It consisted of Dr. Zotovich’s assistants shoving films in my daughter’s mouth and holding her jaw closed — all while my daughter was fighting and screaming.
The staff kept telling me this was «normal» and this is exactly how dental care works at this age. WRONG!
I found out later through a friend of mine who worked in the dental field that dentists can charge the insurance more for full mouth x rays. It doesn’t neccessarily mean that the patient needs it, but the dentist makes mre money that way.
I refuse to put my child through this type of torture, and took the x-​rays that Dr. Zotovich took to another dentist for a second opinion. The first thing the other dentist said was «how did they get her to do full mouth x-​rays»? It seems that it is NOT common practice to have children of this age to have those types of x-​rays because it is painful and traumatizing for them!
Please, parents, read Alyssa B’s review first hand and understand that your child will be traumatized going here. I still feel guilty for ever taking my daughter here.
In regards to Dr. Zotovich and his staff, they were very condescending and dismissive. The bottom line was that they wanted to do major work on my daughter, and all they cared about was payment.
Luckily I found a great pediatric dentist in Los Gatos and my children will never have to come here again.
I have no idea if things have changed in that office, but in 2008, was my experience. My heart goes out to the children that go to that office for dental work.

Dr. Zotovich is the best pediatric dentist in the business! His staff is extremely efficient, courteous, and above all knowledgeable and excellent with children. Dealing with children daily who may be nervous or scared to be at the dentist office might be trying for some, but Dr. Z and his staff handle it beautifully.
Dr. Zotovich is an excellent dentist. I started seeing him when I was 8 years old after a traumatic visit to another dentist. My parents took me for my first visit to his office and I never went anywhere else until I was an adult. Now, as an adult with two children, there is no one else who I would easily trust with the dental health of my children. The entire staff, from hygenists to the office staff, have been with his office since I was a child. Loyalty like that doesn’t come easily, and Dr. Z deserves it.

Dr. Zotovich is the exact kind of pediatric dentist we’ve been seeking; he told us the truth, didn’t mince words, and, most importantly, only wanted the best for our family’s dental health. We felt he cared about our situation and making things better for the long run and not the immediate fast fix.
Finding a dentist you trust and feel at ease with was a real challenge. We’re glad to finally have a regular dentist to go to and not worry.
The staff are also awesome, friendly, and professional.

Dr Zotovich was awful! My daughter needed several cavities filled. Dr Z accused me of being at fault for this. I brush her teeth twice daily and allow her VERY FEW things containing sugar. He would not believe me and continued to lecture me. He treated me with great disrespect.
Th day of the fillings, they made her drink a terrible stuff that she almost vomited on as they threatened her, then plugged her nose to make her swallow it. THEN they gassed her and gave her Novocaine. She slept at home most of rest of the day after it was over. I know they over-​drugged her. One of these fillings fell out 6 months later and she had to have a crown put in. I’d NEVER go back! I’m sure there are good dentists wouldn’t treat us this way. Just ask around a lot. I’ll NEVER go to him again!
