Rebozzi Construction

Rebozzi Construction provided a competitive price and high quality workmanship on my project. The quote process was very well managed with Rick the owner and his employees Scott and Caylee. They provided a on-​time start and finish on the project and were flexible to make changes and additions, when needed. The field team of carpenters, electricians and finish workers were all personable people to work with and well managed by Scott. I will definitely use them again for my next project!

We hired Rebozzi for a garage remodeling work — nothing fancy, just basic attic space, sheetrocking a couple of walls, a new wooden step, some electrical upgrade. They were recommended by colleagues at work.
Overall, scheduling with them was somewhat frustrating experience for us. It might be the market — every contractor is super busy. They gave us a time and then delayed start by 3 weeks. This made things really tight for our schedules — we are a working couple and it is difficult to schedule things around our work as is. They made it particularly hard and stressful.
The plus point is that they were clear about cost/​budget and they did not overshoot.
We like precision and pride in work. I would not describe the Rebozzi team as precise. They were subcontracting to a few separate groups and the groups had different quality of output. The electrical folks were reasonable. The painter was fantastic.
But the people who were in charge of cleaning up the old walls post demolition (Nails, old bits and pieces, cobwebs) did a crap job. In fact, once they put the attic up, it took me much longer to get rid of cobwebs than it would have taken them if they had done it right from get go. The attic space is meant to be used for storage and occasional human movement. What good is a network cobwebs and nails jutting out of beams in that space? And this was after asking them repeatedly that we wanted the walls cleaned.
Woodwork was imprecise with gaps including the attic floor and the step.
There were miscommunication between groups as if no one gave clear instructions. The groups would make mistakes and we would have to ask for fixes.
The painter was given incorrect instructions about painting which made his job harder. If it weren’t for the fact that he was a great guy, we would have had a minor disaster on our hands. The lack of cleaning the walls properly made his job much harder. He did the best he could.
I would have appreciated better quality work even it is just the garage. I have heard disaster stories. And Rebozzi were not a disaster, they were adequate. The pride in work is clearly missing. Precision and pride either exist or they don’t –they don’t depend on the size of the job or how busy your schedule is.

Rick is an excellent contractor. He just finished our house recently which was a complete gut and re-​build. The level of detail and quality of work is impressive. Everything was completed on time. We are very pleased with Rick’s work and highly recommend him.

Liked the style until I got up close. Now I know who not to contract!!! Foam? Really? OMG

Recently, my wife and I had Rebozzi Construction to update our dining room. The work that was involved was to raising the dining room floor level to the existing floor level; adding ceiling lighting and ceiling fan, scrape the popcorn ceiling and added texturing, crown molding baseboard and room entry detail and paint. The flooring was installed by another contractor.
Rick Rebozzi’s team of craftsmen did a great job with all the infrastructure work of the subflooring, insulation between the floor rafters and subfloor with laser level precision. The popcorn removal and texturing was done very well and the crown molding and room entry detail installation was spot on, which matched the rest of the house. The construction area was cleaned and minimized the dust as much as possible. The painting was done to our expectation.
The flooring was installed by another contractor but the workmanship was not acceptable. Rick stepped in and had his flooring expert to take over the rework to the flooring installation and the end results were again, above board. Rick stood by his word of insuring customer satisfaction and his Team delivered.
I recommend Rebozzi Construction for various home improvement upgrades.

Rebozzi Construction just finished a complete build/​remodel on our home, and we couldn’t be happier! Reading through some of these reviews, I don’t recognize the people the posters are writing about, they are so off!
In our house we had the following done: Walls removed, walls moved, paint, plumbing, bathrooms, showers, crown, base, multi-​level ceilings, custom closets, state of the art kitchen, new ducting, HVAC, hardwood, doors, windows, etc. I probably get 2 – 3 compliments from people walking by per day. Rebozzi construction did an excellent job.
Why I will hire Rick 10 times out of 10 moving forward:
1. You can trust Rick. He’s a man of character, and he came through on every promise he made, big and small.
2. He keeps you focused on doing what you really want in your remodel, regardless of how annoying the request may be.
3. He answers his phone. Time and time again, with other contractors, they disappear, you can’t get in touch with them, etc. Rick is accessible.
4. He knows the area, has great taste, and has connections to get top notch work done.
5. He’s meticulous about the final product, and has great attention to detail. Your job will get done right and be beautiful, or he will keep going until it is!
I grew up in the area, and have seen the Rebozzi name splashed all over the place since he sponsors many high school athletic programs, kid’s sports, etc. Yet I had never met him.
Needless to say, I will never go anywhere else, and if you are looking to remodel, call Rick, you won’t regret it.

My house looks gorgeous after an extensive remodel thanks to Rebozzi. The bid was super competitive. They came in on bid, responded to my changes as needed in the job when I wanted additional features, and had excellent workmanship in their subcontractors all the way through. When I did encounter workmanship that was questionable on one part, I complained and Rick was responsive, on task and problem was solved. He is a hands on problem solver and wants his customers happy. I am very picky and detail oriented and called with many many questions throughout, and I had detailed needs having never remodeled before so I was calling allot. Rick and his team were always helpful and responsive and cared about doing a good job si I would be satisfied. When you hear nightmare stories about other people’s construction jobs, I am so thankful I picked Rebozzi for the big task of major kitchen, dining room, stucco, new architecture, remodeling.

We had Rick and his team redo our kitchen this summer. He gave us a reasonable estimate, and was very responsive in the initial stages of the contract. (We had some really unpleasant dealings with other contractors when we tried to get this job bid out.) We asked him to do a quick turn around on the job and they exceeded our expectations. Start to finish they went from tear out to complete install in three weeks. His guys are clean, friendly, and easy to deal with. I had unplanned surgery two days after tear out and they were very respectful with their comings and goings, keeping the disruption to a minimum for me as much as possible. They were careful to clean up every day before leaving, and made sure other areas were protected during the construction.
Kaylee in the office is a dream project manager. She kept everything moving along smoothly, including a change in plans where we decided at the last minute to rip the old floors out and install new tile.
Rick’s guys were here during each inspection to make sure things went well — including dealing with an inspector that told us we could just rip out all the tile to add another outlet that the inspectors had forgotten to tell us about on the rough inspection «because it wouldn’t cost that much.» They got the supervisor involved when the inspectors couldn’t agree on what actually needed to happen to pass inspection, until we finally got it passed.
I’m giving four stars because the punch list took a looong time to resolve, but everything was completed to our satisfaction.
We have since used Rick’s crew to replace all the doors and molding in the house, and will definitely call on him again when we are ready to tackle the upstairs bathrooms.

Not recommended. Doesn’t use licensed contractors (they’re «under his license»), so you won’t pass inspection. Does everything the easiest and fastest way possible hoping you won’t notice and then has to re-​do it when you do. Says he wants to satisfy the customer, but uses delay tactics so that you’d be satisfied with anything just to get them out of your life. Beware of products or services that have reviews with only 1 star or 5 stars; the 5-​stars are probably not real, especially if they say the workmen are «hot». I have had two houses custom built, so I have some experience with contractors. It doesn’t always go well, but this is by far the worst, and I am still fixing things they said they fixed. Don’t even think of engaging them without permits, and check everything they do (again and again)!

I don’t often give recommendations for home construction contractors, but in this case I wanted to share my great experience with Rebozzi Construction Inc. here in South San Jose.
In business since the 1990’s, Rebozzi Construction is a family run business and does extremely high quality and cost competitive work. They do everything from minor home upgrades to complete construction projects. If you need an exterior remodel, stucco work, home additions, bathroom or kitchen remodels, Rick Rebozzi and his team is the guy to consider.
We had an exterior remodel done to our home recently with stucco and rock veneer. Our home was built in the early 1970’s and was due for a refresh. Rick’s crews, or should I say, Teams of Artisans did an outstanding job, with the costs and schedule being well within my expectations. Schedule-​wise, they were very close to their original estimate, given weather delays and the other usual things that happen during the construction. Cost-​wise, they were spot on to my initial estimates. The construction was done neatly, and when they were done, they cleaned up, and made the house look new.
Rick was always making sure that the job was on schedule, and that any wrinkles got ironed out before they became problems. His daughter Caylee works the front office, and her attention to detail made it a pleasure to work with Rebozzi Construction. Given Rick’s years of experience remodeling homes here in south San Jose, he was always quick to make suggestions on how to improve on the remodel, and more importantly if he saw a way to save the homeowner money on the work, he was quick to give advice on how to do so. Rick is so well regarded in the local home contractor community, that several other contractors that I contacted during the bidding phase recommended Rick! So if you are looking for a trustworthy, professional, licensed & bonded contractor to do work on your home, I strongly recommend that you consider Rebozzi Construction.

Wish I could give zero stars. Do not use Rebozzi Construction. His ego is too big to admit when he doesn’t know how to correctly install something. We had siding installed a few years back and now have major water damage and rot that will need a competent contactor to handle. He always acts as the know what he is doing then when a problem arises he acts as though you are the stupid one.
Wasted a lot of money with the company.

Rick and his team worked on a 450sq ft addition and a remodel of our entire house. This included a kitchen remodel and updating an existing bathroom, replacing older siding, adding insulation.
Rick and his team are just awesome! The work was done with high quality, on time and within budget — all very important when you are dealing with a whole house remodel.
We were a bit apprehensive reading some of the other reviews — but on meeting Rick our fears were put to rest. Rick is always on time, stops by often during the project to ensure that the construction is going on according to plan, and always has a good idea to pitch in to ensure that as an homeowner you are building for the long term. Rick’s mantra is to educate the homeowner about various options so that they can make an informed decisions.
During the course of the work, Rick and his crew were pretty open to feedback, and fixing things that we pointed out as issues. We tend to be nit-​picky and they were super patient with us as first-​time home remodelers! :) Even after the work was done ~ if we noticed any issues — for eg: we had a slight faucet issue with our kitchen sink — Rick was able to get a plumber out the next day to fix it. This kind of service is what differentiates a mediocre contractor from a great one!
We lived in our home during the remodel and Rick and his crew made sure we were comfortable and had basic access to water/​power while the work was going in. Additionally they made sure that the house was always secure/​work area cleaned up by the end of day.
Additionally ~ this is a family run business and the pride of ownership shows. The office is managed by Caylee ~ Rick’s daughter who is amazingly responsive on email (turnaround time of an hour or two), as well as by phone. It’s always easy to talk with her to get an idea on where is the best place to buy supplies for your remodel.
The finished product turned out very well ~ and we get compliments from our friends and neighbors on the workmanship!
We have some additional work in our backyard that needs to be done, and we will definitely be calling Rick back! We have been referring him to our neighbors/​friends as a hassle-​free general contractor!

Having dealt with a few other contractors I can tell you that, like a Stylist or auto mechanic, once you find an outstanding licensed Contractor,…you keep them. Every time I hear a friend telling me their contractor nightmare I tell them to call Robozzi and every time they tell me they should have called them first. I have always believed that credit where credit is due and Rebozzi has truly earned my highest praise. In fact, I’m saving now for the next job. Thanks Scott, Rick and the team at Rebozzi! Keep up the excellent work! And it doesn’t hurt that their crew always looks HOT! Thanks boys… especially, Scott ;-)

My husband and I highly recommend Rebozzi Construction!
We turned our courtyard into a 200 square foot room which involved tearing down the in and outside of our home. The job which was promised to be done in 3 months, was completed in 2 with ease and enjoyment. It was so refreshing to work with a company with good old fashioned values. Everyone who worked at our home was reliable, dependable, honest, on time and extremely hard working. We love that Rick has his own crew and is in total control of who is working for him. It put our minds at ease when allowing people in our home with a toddler and while at work.
Rick and his crew were respectful of our home by protecting the existing interior, exterior and cleaning up thoroughly after themselves every day. Each crew that was here was extremely hard working, polite and respectful. Rick was very hands on by checking in on the job on a regular basis.
Much of the job was done when I worked part time and my husband full time. While at home, our toddler was able to take 100% of her afternoon naps without one disturbance from the crew which included jackhammering, roof work, concrete, dry wall, new flooring, stucco, drilling, hammering etc.
On a personal note, having a very Type A personality, I assumed tearing our house apart would be a disaster and send me over the edge. I dreaded the word ‘construction’ and just told myself to get through it. If anything, I was pleasantly surprised that working with Rick and his crew was easy and enjoyable. We have a gorgeous new addition to our home of high quality and craftsmanship. I would absolutely use them again for future work.

FYI — Many of the 5-​star reviews for Rebozzi Construction are Fake. We do NOT recommend Rebozzi Construction! Our firsthand experience working with this company was TERRIBLE! The poor reviews by various people for this company all basically say the same things… because we’ve all had problems with the company and the work that was done on our homes.
Rebozzi Construction has a few nice people working for them. But unfortunately, they do SLOPPY, inadequate, and INCOMPLETE work. (It took several attempts to pass inspections — many things had to be Re-​done over again.) And Rick Rebozzi tries to deny it when his workers break things — just an example of their Poor Customer Service! Our experience is that Mr. Rebozzi has a pattern of claiming his company’s mistakes are somehow the customer’s fault. He and his office staff make a lot of excuses. They also use cheaper materials than contracted for. I have proof!
When trying to have a conversation with Rick Rebozzi about the need to repair and finish the job according to the contract, he resorted to insults and intimidation. We wish we would have seen the Unilocal reviews before we hired Rebozzi Construction. This comment by another customer is unfortunately all too familiar:
«It’s impossible to completely describe the horrible business practices that Rick Rebozzi (the owner of Rebozzi Construction) undertook while working a contract for me. Rick is one of the least professional and most inappropriate individuals I have ever met. I cannot say this any clearer: DO NOT LET RICK REBOZZI ON YOUR PROPERTY»
We have experienced the SAME problems with this company as others have.
Bottom Line: Rebozzi Construction is NOT a company that we can recommend.

Rick and his team are the best!
We added a second story which consisted of a master bedroom and bath, another bedroom, hallway bathroom and a bonus/​TV room. We also remodeled our kitchen and pushed out one of our kitchen walls. We spoke to a few contractors before we hired Rick but something about his first meetings with us told us to go with him. He was always on time and ready to listen. I live with my older parents and it is their house that we remodeled. They have lived here over 30+ years and they were VERY particular about how the work was to be done and even they had no complaints in the end. They were actually very pleased with the quality of workmanship and timely completion of this project.
One thing to mention, we (My parents, my husband, 5 year old and I) LIVED in our family room while all of this was going on. My parents are both retired and I work from home so we were surrounded by all of this construction all day long. Rick’s team made sure our house was still livable. We always had power and water and our family room was always secure by the end of the day. We were still able to cook, wash our clothes and even watch TV. Rick personally made sure that construction was always moving along so that we could get back to our normal lives. We trusted all his workers and even shared lunches with them.
His office team was always readily available. We mostly communicated through email and we always got a response within and hour.
I would certainly hire him again for anything. He is like our family now. He still comes by to see how we are doing and to make sure everything is ok. What other construction company would do that?

I’m very pleased with the work that Rick’s crew did. I had entire kitchen/​living room area remodeled and the front of my house re done. Not only did Rick’s team do a wonderful job, they listened to my ideas and did what I wanted.
I had about 5 or 6 contractors come in and do quotes for me, some more expensive then Rebozzi and some slightly cheaper. When Rick came to my house for the initial quote he arrived on time and he had a great attitude. I told him what I needed done and he gave me some great ideas on what else to have done. When I finally decided to go with Rebozzi I gave them a call and told them I wanted them to do my job. They had an awesome contract between myself and the company. (which is really helpful to assure you that they won’t leave mid job) after the contract was signed the demo started.
Rick gave me a window of 6 – 8 weeks for the entire project and everything was complete within 7 weeks. Rick is also involved with the project the entire time it is happening. He came to the house several times to make sure things were running smoothly.
The entire crew I worked with was great, always took into consideration what my needs and wants were. The ladies that work in the office are great with communication via email and/​or phone. Joel who was my project manager, he would stay overtime just to assure things were properly done, he stayed at my place until 7pm one night working; if that’s not dedication then I don’t know what is. The demo guys were super friendly, and did the demo in basically one day– very time efficient. My tile floors look amazing thanks to the tile guys. The plumbing work is done very well. The electricians asked me specifically where I wanted my switches and which light to what switch. And the painters did a great job with finishing up the final touches of my house with a little color.
Overall I am very pleased I went with Rebozzi construction. If I were to have another remodel in my house they would be the first company I would call.

We had our two bedroom extension with Rebozzi construction last November, 2012.
He& his crew were always on time, notified us every next step& tried their best to finish professionally. There were minor mistakes after construction but he would gladly come& fix it right away. We are very happy with result& would recommend Rick to everyone who consider remodeling.

I just want to say that I’m glad I decided to work with Rick before I read the reviews below. Rick basically did a complete remodel and 1200 sq ft addition on a 3000 sq ft house for me. I was pregnant when I hired Rick and so time was of the essence. When I had told people Rick committed to complete the house in 5 months, people laughed at me and thought I was crazy, but he did it in 6, which is amazing for the job we had and included some delivery delays and change orders.
I wouldn’t say everything was done to perfection, but I had bid the job out and for the price, you really couldn’t beat the quality. and anytime anything wasn’t right, they always did fix it.
He has a great crew there. Scott had worked on the framing and Joel the finishes, and they were both awesome guys.
Just make sure to document all details and changes because with a large project it’s easy to lose track of the changes. Joel and I had our mutual checklists and we went through them regularly to make sure we were on track and on schedule.
As for the personal attacks on Rick for being inappropriate, maybe he was just being the friendly guy he is? There was definitely never anything he did that made me feel uncomfortable. If anything he is equally friendly with me and my husband.

We had a very clear End Result in mind, but weren’t sure how to achieve it. We wanted to remodel/​enlarge our kitchen and take out the interior walls on the mid-​level of our 1970’s tri-​level home to create a great room.
We met with Rick and told him what we wanted to do and that we needed an architect and a rough budget. He introduced us to Sanchali Srivastava of San Interior Design
who took our sketches and rendered the construction drawings. Removing the walls did require the involvement of a Structural Engineer, and Sanchali brought one on board.
With detailed construction drawings, Rick was able to refine his quote and we could make decisions about what stayed in the project and what had to go. Next, we discussed the schedule. We had to be ready to host a Mother’s Day family dinner this year, and it was already March 1. The construction had to be done and cleaned up by May 4 so we had time to move back in, and Rick committed his resources and assured us that he and his crew of workers and subcontractors would make that date.
Demolition began in earnest on March 10. I just wish I had taken a picture of the project manager’s expressions (there were two of them) when they heard the date they had to be finished by. Both said, «You want it when?» and each time I told ‘em to «talk to Rick, that’s his date».
Long story short, Rebozzi Construction made the date and we moved into our brand new kitchen on time — new cabinets/​counters/​appliances/​doors/​windows. There were plenty of opportunities for failure and every instance was managed and resolved to our satisfaction.
