Ruby Frozen Yogurt

the fruit isn’t covered and doesn’t look like its been cleaned properly. everything didn’t have a cover on it, so it just seemed like germ central. I ate the yogurt anyways because I paid for it and immediately felt sick. I don’t think this place is well taken care of… just stay away.

The first time I went there
was the last time I went there the ice cream was kinda good but the fruit toppings had big and small flies all over the fruit also the dry topping looked like they were there for a looong time

I personally have a soft spot for supporting local businesses. The customer service offered at this location is very friendly and welcoming. What you see is what you get when the froyo and the toppings. I will surely come again!

This place is fantastic! If you love frozen yogurt… AND cockroaches… This place is for you! I came in and I was like… This place is awesome! I don’t have to pay extra for the cockroaches I get! Each cockroach tools behind every frozen yogurt machine to make sure you have the BEST quality yogurts in town! OH! And did I mention the Fruit flies located conveniently all over the windows? Pretty much your average yogurt place. It has a bit of a more Asian style to it compared to other yogurt places like Pinkberry, due to their Taro flavor and Popping Boba toppings. My sister really liked the taro, but I personally got the Birthday Cake Batter! I had some sprinkles and had it in a cone but the cone tasted somewhat weird.
As for the cashier, she was extremely nice and even offered a sample cup to place extra sprinkles in! I really wanted to try a smoothie, but maybe next time.
Pretty average but it gets the job done well!

So I was walking around the Berryessa and saw this place. I was thinking yogurt why not it’s a warm day. It’s my first time here and I wanted to try some of the flavors. I asked the guy if he had any sample cups. He said only if I buy something can I have a sample. Which i thought was weird. I said i was but he kept saying if you try something you have to buy… that gave me a weird feeling and I didnt want to spend my money on a business that treats people like that. I told him nevermind and walked out without trying or buying anything. I don’t care if this guy had the best yogurt in the world. That shouldn’t be the way owners treat new customers.

I was invited to an awesome frozen yogurt place by a friend. Upon my arrival I refused to judging the place, so I served myself some yogurt and toppings. As I was talking to my friend I took a scoop and found a baby COCKROACH IN MY YOGURT!
I went to tell the man at the register and he started yelling at me saying that it wasn’t a cockroach and that it was a part of the granola so he took the napkin out of my hands and he smashed the cockroach till there was nothing and said I was wrong. Mmmm no sir it was a COCKROACH.

Let me make it clear: AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS
If i could give this place a zero I would. Came in here looking for some yogurt on a warm day, not a big expectation. The flavors were a little off and not very tarty but not a problem. Every store gets their stuff from a different source. The problem i have here is that this place is so off. There was an old man missing a few teeth working the cashier. I assume he must be the owner. Nothing wrong with being old or a man or missing teeth but not exactly the right image you want to present.
The AC was off and the place was warm. First clue. This place serves food, how can it be 85 degrees inside? Second clue, tables and chair weren’t very clean. Umm. doesn’t the guy know to clean the tables, there’s no one here and he’s just standing around. Third clue: bathroom needs a key which is on a wire coat hanger. Fourth clue, signs are written over by hand and peeling paint shows where a sign used to be. 5^th clue, why is he selling tennis rackets in the store. 6^th clue: there were COCKROACHES in the toppings and when I pointed it out to him he didn’t seem very concerned (not shocked so this must not have been a first) and not apologetic.
Listen, I hate crapping on a small business but this place deserves to be out of business if they don’t change. Probably deserves to be shut down. I mean if you can’t keep this little place clean you have no clue at all. Please call the health inspector.

Conveniently located in Capitol Avenue and Berryessa, this is the nearest frozen yogurt place in my area. Fairly decent selection. Sad ambiance for the lack of customers coming in, and even though the older guy on behind the counter seemed nice, the place isn’t that much welcoming.
They got about 8 flavors when we came in and I choose a combo of watermelon sherbet, cheesecake and taro. The taro was sweet and lacks the taro flavor but the two other ones were on the spot… so I like it.
They got a lot of choices for the toppings but how it was arranged wasn’t enticing enough to dump a lot in our cup. So I got my typical favorite of almond slices and mochi… Am happy.
I say it’s just OK for the local business… but am worried that if they don’t boost up their product and ambiance, the business might not last that long.

Would never come back, yogurt has a nice taste to it like it doesn’t have too much sugar in it. This place was bad because the yogurt tastes like someone dumped a bucket of sugar into every flavor. Left a horrible after taste. Avoid this place.

Disappointing and quite frankly gross– I found a roach hanging out by the toppings after I bought my boba.
So yeah, they also sell boba /​bubble tea here in addition to the froyo. I was stoked upon finding out about this because the shop is within walking distance of my house and I was really craving it today. The man at the counter asked if I wanted black tea or green tea, and I just kind of went along with it and said green tea, despite the poster behind him offering like a dozen other flavors. I was expecting something that actually resembled tea– maybe a slight hint of green in a milky base. What I got was the liquid lovechild of Crayola and Play-​Doh. Seriously, I just pulled up Photoshop to see the hexadecimal code for the color of this «tea» and it’s roughly #33CC33.
Like what even. No tea should be that color. As expected, it tastes as artificial as it looks. I’ve had boba from all kinds of different places, but this was the worst. Really regret spending $ 3.50 here.

Closed when we tried to go even though everything (the door, website, Unilocal etc) states open.

This location has pests! Found a bug crawling in the candy cases and immediately left this place. Unsanitary conditions, health inspection needed.

Nice owner guy. The yogurt’s quality is for sure not close to that of the major brands (pinkberry, yogurtland), but it is decent! There are usually around eight to nine different flavors (one that I’ve never encountered at other places is the Cake Batter flavor). I think some of the non-​fruit, non-​popping boba/​mochi toppings are old (aka the Christmas cookies).
The place itself is spacious and I particularly like the window seats (IF there were a nicer view outside).

Came to Ruby Frozen Yogurt excited to get yogurt but the store didn’t open until 330 and I got here at 327. So I waited 10 minutes and they’re still not open. Horrible

This was really not good. There were so many yogurt flavors I sampled that I was waiting to love but even the tart was terrible. The cotton candy was Splenda, the caramel was tasteless, and the taro was not taro. We had to throw away our first cup because we couldn’t bear with the thought of trying to finish the flavors we tried to convince ourselves to enjoy. Thankfully, the sorbet flavors (raspberry and watermelon) were just enough to rescue the little we had left.
The interior was very cute, cold, and relaxing to enjoy our little dessert. The cashier was nice but mostly hid in the corner to read his newspaper. He’s like your old grandfather such that if you don’t bother him, he won’t bother you.

The kiddos and I always swing by here. The kids love it and it’s not very busy, which is nice especially when you have little ones. The price is very affordable.

Not a Big fan. Me and my good friend came here since we were in the area. when we walked in we did not get greeted, we asked for some sample cups the worker only gave us one each, like seriously? The yogurt looked watery right away. Big selection of toppings but it was a bit messy (dirty). the only flavor i recommend is the Taro.
Probably wont be coming back

Ruby’s is the closest froyo to my house now that the one I regularly go to in the ranch 99 plaza closed. It was late and I was craving froyo so we made a trip out just to pick up some froyo. The tart flavors were pretty tart, but the regular flavors tasted pretty sweet. The strawberry flavor tasted just like eating strawberry ice cream. We ended up getting one big cup and added mango tart and the strawberry one that tasted like ice cream. I added a bunch of toppings, the fruit was okay, it looked fresh and I added some pieces of strawberry to the top of mine. I also added some cereal– I don’t know if your parents ever bought the knock off generic cereal brands that come in the huge bulk bags, but the cereals here tasted just like that.
TL;DR: flavors taste like ice cream, cereal is generic brands, I would prefer another froyo place, I just come here because it’s close.
