Shifu Wei is an awesome kung fu master. My wife and I enrolled our son in his studio a few weeks before his 4^th birthday. Shifu does wonders with kids. He is strict with the kids but he also acknowledges some students are just kids and incorporates games into his lessons.
My son can get shy at times, but he responds well to Shifu’s teaching style. Since enrolling, my 4 year old son can practically do the side splits, bridge, and front kick his own forehead. And he is working on his second form.
He’s loving every minute of class! I highly recommend this studio.

My 6 year old twin boys have been studying Kung Fu with Shifu Wei for a couple of years now. We originally signed them up because one was beating the other up a lot, and we wanted him to learn to control his emotions, and the other to be able to defend himself.
Shifu Wei has done wonders with both kids. Especially the one who was getting beat up has a lot more confidence and strength. I’d go so far to say that by teaching my son this, Shifu Wei has changed his life.
Shifu Wei is a gifted teacher. The classes are a lot of fun for the kids while still teaching them what they need to know.
In short, I highly recommend this school.

My son who is 5 and a half have been with Shifu Wei for over 6 months now. What we appreciate most is Shifu Wei ways of teaching and engaging the students. He challenge each child at their own level. And the child feels happy and proud of their own accomplishments. Obviously, I highly recommend this school. Silicon Valley Kung Fu Academy was the 4^th school we tried and my son and I liked it so much, we signed up right away. The main thing that struck me was the way he was training the children. For example, they would play games to work on their reflexes. One day, he lined up the students and had a yoga ball that he would bounce to the students while looking elsewhere and the kids had to not focus on Shifu gaze but on the ball itself to block it. In the end, we chose this school because of Shifu Wei. So if you find choosing the best teacher important, check this place out.

SV kung Fu is one of the best Kung Fu studios in the bay area to learn martial arts. Although the location is quit far from where we live and the studio is not as big as for some other studios near our house, my son and I decided to quit our old school to join Sifu Wei. He has a lot of experiences of teaching for different levels and ages. We learn seriously in each class different technique and progressive skills of stretching, forms and weapons. Sifu Wei is encouraging towards the students. He focuses on our training closely and often points out our mistakes for us to correct. My son has improved his skills constantly weeks after weeks. I have improved my flexibility and energy significantly with SV kung fu lessons. The warm up time is fun and serious at the same time. I like that Sifu Wei usually incorporates kickboxing in our training to gain our power. In short, we have made the right choice. It is worth of driving half an hour long to get to the studio… the right activity investment in SV Kung Fu Academy!

I enrolled my son at Silicon Valley Kung Fu so he would learn self defense and spend less time playing video games. We’ve been going here for 3 months now and Sifu Wei is a great teacher. He is a master of the art and has been practicing the many different styles of Kung Fu since he was a young boy growing up in China. He has won many tournaments and has demonstrated his skills around the world. Sifu Wei is not only a master at the art, but has awesome skills working with kids. He’s patient, encouraging, enthusiastic, instructive, constructive, and fun. In addition Sifu Wei teaches students to be respectful, attentive, responsible, kind, considerate, and outgoing. The classes are so fun and offer such a great workout, I even enrolled myself. Overall, my son and I are very happy with our decision to enroll. In the short time that my son has taken classes here, he has already increased in belt levels. I can feel a little at ease that my son can defend himself if he is ever bullied or threatened. If you’ve ever thought about teaching your kids (and/​or yourself) kung fu but was unsure, try a free trial class with Sifu Wei (he applies zero pressure for enrollment as the class sells itself). You’ll be surprised how affordable it is (I was). Best investment I’ve made in awhile for my family.

Shifu Wei has taught me traditional kung fu forms (weapons and no weapons) in addition to free form weapons techniques (my favorite being nunchucks). The classes are fun and always include a variety of warm-​ups, stretching and kung fu drills. There is a focus on proper form, speed and flexibility. We also learn self-​defense drills and practice punches, kicks, and blocks. For me one of the valuable part of the training is the development of reflexes and improvement of reaction time. He also will teach you other stunts and tricks if you ask. He’s an excellent performer as well. The environment is very friendly and almost feels like a family.

Anyone with interest in Kung Fu should take lessons from Shifu Wei. My two kids (ages 8 & 6) had been with Shifu Wei for more than a year (while he was at another studio). He is a motivating and caring instructor who makes it fun for kids to learn Kung Fu. He was, by far, my children’s favorite Shifu. He focuses on precision, so the children need to do their moves correctly before he moves on to the next steps. Sometimes it is frustrating for children to repeat the same steps (and to keep working on the exact hand/​feet/​arm positioning), but it is necessary since every move is a building block to the next. The moves that they learn from the beginning are the foundation to the subsequent belts. But not only is he a great teacher, he’s also an AMAZING martial artist. If you get the chance, you should see him perform some time. Or just ask for a demo.

Sifu Cheng is both a wonderful and patient teacher! He is very cheerful in his ways of teaching and really motivates his students to have fun yet learn at the same time. I would definitely recommend this place to people of all ages and sizes. Martial arts is a great way to stay in shape and learn self defense, and Master Cheng is one of the most kind and attentive sifu’s I have ever had the pleasure to learn under.

Sifu Cheng aka Sifu Wei was my master at a different school in the past. He is patient, friendly, dedicated, optimistic, and good-​hearted. He not only forms teacher-​student relationships with students but friend-​friend relationships. He pays attention both to accuracy/​sharpness of movements and also student capabilities at that moment.
