Great service! Came here for tax consulting. Rita analyzed my case carefully and answered all my questions patiently. She also provided me many useful tax advices.

I do my family taxes in Rita this year. She answered my all questions both on cell phone and in the office. Also the price is much cheap than others. Since Rita’s professional job, I got more taxes return than last year. I will go to Rita next year, too.

Be careful because the time you walked into the office, they charged you $ 150.
I am not sure how the office get 5 stars at the first place. It can be crooked or internal voting. I will talk about my experience.
It was my first time filing tax return in the US. When I asked my friend which accountant, he pointed out that many people in bay area would go for SV-​Tax, Silicon Valley Tax and Accounting Services.
It was a small house. There were no reception or what so ever. It was a two bedroom apartment, and it stink because it lacked of ventilation. And the accountant, sit right in front of the door. She was talking to the phone and it lasted for like 10 mins.
Now she saw me. ] Coldly she asked where were my documents. She didn’t seem happy when I said I had most files in my computer. And even not patient when I asked for the wireless password.
Okay, I thought since my friend recommended me, I would continue. I started to tell her my situation and she quickly typed on the computer about my information. As it was the first time I filed the tax return in US, I was not familiar with the rules. She looked at me in a way that I was stupid and smirked when I told her my understanding about resident or non-​resident situation. The whole process was cold and un-​comfortable.
In the middle of the process, a guy came in and seemed to be waiting for the next hour consultation. She looked at the guy and said it was not four clock so please wait outside. I felt sorry for the guy and thought how could she just told the customer to wait outside without a seat.
There were consistent interruption of phones and talk from next room (It is door to door). And I was asked to calculate my income in Australia. When I told her that my calculation was the whole year she didn’t pay attention and typed in the computer assuming it was for the first half year. So at the end the prediction was not correct.
She wrapped it up by telling me the service feel would be extra $ 150 because of an extra form. I felt surprised and questioned it, she then tried to make up some things like we need to use softwares etc and it costed money too.
I told her I signed up a similar form online and didn’t need to fill it again. She didn’t seem to be happy and suspected I came here without actually want their service, where I did actually sign it before. But soon she smiled again because I agreed to pay the fee upfront. How foolish of me! Again biased based on my friend’s recommendation, I paid it by credit card.
After I stepped out of the office, I felt shamed and regretful. With the poor service, the impatient attitude and the demand to pay everything up front, I felt they cared about the money. Had they not asking me to pay in advance, not coldly asking the next customer to just wait outside, not impatiently listen to you, I would be just go with them because again, my friend’s recommendation.
Next day I searched online and booked another appointment at H&R Block. The moment I stepped into the room, I knew I made the right choice. It was warm, kind and patient. So I decided not go to with SV-​Tax.
So I called them up and asked them to refund the money because I don’t need their service anymore. Guess what, you would be deducted $ 150 because the time you walked into the room, the service started!
Half an hour consultation with poor service, they claimed it worth $ 150. And it was before signing the contract.
Please do not go there in person unless you don’t care about your time and money. Because they certainly cared about it than cared about YOU!

I have my taxes done here this February, and lots of my friends had recommended this place since they have always had great experiences with Silicon Valley Tax.
Rita and Joanna are super friendly and make your appointment more like a conversation rather than an interrogation of logistical information. They explain things well to customers who has very little understanding of accounting and tax, and are very patient with your questions. I’ll come back next year! Rita help me with my personal taxes. She answered all my questions instantly. Most importantly she is accessible. Compare this to HRBlock where most of the offices are closed except near tax season. Even though I get big discounts (from work) to use HRBlock etc, I would still goto Rita.

Rita and Joanna are great and they make a great team. Rita the Tax pro and Joanna is the accounting pro. They really help me out of a mess. My old bookkeeper did a terrible job keeping my books up to date and accounts didn’t balance correctly. SV accounting to the rescue. They cleaned my books and put in place a vastly improved document handling system.
I highly recommend them to any small business owners for your tax and accounting needs.

We have been using this company for about one year for our accounting audit, we are pretty happy with their service. We are doing the kitchen cabinets business, being a small business of manufacturing type, it really requires some opinions from the professional that really has a KNOW-​HOW to help us establish the accounting structure, and we appreciate that Joanna and Rita give us some helpful advice to straight things out and make the book clean. Due to the business expanding in the past two years, we have to hire another part-​time bookkeeping in house to do the data entry but we still use SVTAS to oversee the book and do the audit.

I was not at all happy with their services. The business card said I was working with Joanna, but her emails said her name was Rita. I have no idea who I was dealing with. She was very condescending and did not want to help answer any questions or give me any suggestions. I left there feeling bad about myself as if I was doing something wrong. She is very cold and not very personable. My refund was the lowest that I have ever received. I will never go back to this place. I value my money too much.

The service here is fantastic!!! Basically I know nothing about how to file my tax and they helped me to figure out what forms are needed. So what i did for my tax season is collecting my forms and then all things are handled perfectly. I have got my tax return already and thanks to this professional team.

I have been with sv tax for 3 years and keep enjoying their services. For me personally, my situation turns more and more complicated year by year. However, they not only keep track my history to make the filing easier the following year, but also provide me useful advices and analyze for me when I have new tax situations to maximize my tax return. What’s more, they also actively sending tips to me for policy changes and advices to act in front for more tax benefit.

Ok, I’m glad this woman is getting rave reviews, but my story tells otherwise–
First of all let me point out that I have nothing against this business/​woman but I really felt I had to share my experience. I usually go to Jackson Hewitt because they are really good, but this year since I have moved I needed a new tax person so I Unilocaled up taxes and this business got pretty good reviews so I thought I’d give it a shot considering my taxes are on the easier side with just me claiming 4 dependents (annnnd that’s about it). Well… Let me start off by when I knocked on the door there was somebody still in there (there’s not really a waiting room just a hall) so I was quickly swished away so I waited in the hall… when I was called about 5 min later the lady told me to take a seat and typing away she went… This is where service qets questionable to me– she basically did the one finger to the keyboard type of typing and misspelled SO MANY things on taxes! I’m usually not picky about this crap but since we are talking about the IRS here we need to be on our A game and that’s defiantly not how I felt. I had to tell her at least three times she was spelling names wrong and I pretty much just got a crappy feeling that this was not going to end well. well it didn’t…Joana had the nerve to tell me with claiming four people I ONLY get 300 back and nothing else… Uhhhh…does something sound wrong about this story?! I am claiming 3 kids one adult people something is very not right… So at that point I was so ready to go I knew this woman probably didn’t know what the heck she was talking about. So to my knowledge it looks like Joana does a great job with small business owners and what not, but if this is personal taxes I might take to a more trusted individual. I called my old (which I am so stupid for not just going straight back to her) tax lady and went to her the next day. Well end of story…$ 3,500 later walking out of my old tax ladies office I am the happiest camper alive!

Joanna is very professional and does a great job. I was referred to SV tax from a friend and glad. Joanna is an IRS enrolled agent and very good at what she does. She had a consultation with my wife and I months prior to tax season to help us plan for which records to keep for our rental property. I am thankful for Joanna’s good work and fast turnaround time to complete my taxes. Last year I had tons of medical bills, new rental, private stock sales, w-​2 from 2 diff states, disability w-​2, and she handled all with ease and in timely manner. Thanks Joanna, you the best!

As a newly self-​employed professional, I realized the importance of
having a tax expert on my side but was clueless as to how the process
goes and how we would work together. Joanna specializes in the
self-​employed such as myself and small businesses. She is not only
handling the filing aspects for me throughout the year, but she

I used to do my taxes on my own using one of those do-​it-​yourself webistes. I finally decided our situation was getting to complicated with investments, our home, and my wife being an independent contractor. I came across Kelly at Silicon Valley Tax and Accounting. She showed me the error of my ways and helped me find a lot more write-​offs I was missing all along! Best of all, she is super friendly and very efficient! She is now doing my wife’s bookkeeping.

One of my friend suggested this place to me. I didn’t take them seriously at first since a small and young group of people is running this company. But it turns out better than I expected. This is my first time filing a tax return in CA. I got no idea of how to deal with those shitty forms. The girl helping me was nice and professional, walking through my forms and answering my silly questions. Feels great.
Not many customers there. But that’s exactly what I want. Cheap price, nice people, good service. Hope you guys do a better business but still keep the price LOW!!!
